[2016-04-19] Coachella Shifts Towards Cashless Payments, Fans Request Bitcoin

The California-based annual Coachella music and arts festival began the shift towards cashless payments in 2014. This year the transition continued with all vendors accepting Android Pay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.

The shift aims to increase sales of food, drinks and merchandise, as well as to move attendance lines faster and reduce the number of thefts of cash and plastic cards.

With an event like this that brings in 84 million and attracts 99k people a day this would be great for bitcoin.  Also interesting is that festival goers have been requesting bitcoin since 2014.  Most of my festivals were done in the late 90s and early 2000s and I would have LOVED to not have to worry about paper money.
