why buy DAO after the ICO closes?
FOMO, most likely. The DAO got a lot more publicity than did Lisk. yes, it has had a huge amount of publicity and everyone knows about it, and that's my point. the scale of the ICO buy reflects that. in my view everyone who wants to be in is in. there will be no sudden additional 'discovery' buy pressure at launch tomorrow. people are not sitting on their hands this evening desperately waiting to jump in and buy more DAO on launch. they can buy more now. the only reason to wait is to hope for a price fall on launch. |

DAO going 5x-10x easy  10x minimum. 10x what price though? the price layers in this DAO are many and varied. 10x the ETH ICO price? 10x the various ETH prices on its way up? 10x the final 1.5x ETH price in the last five days of the DAO ICO? this is an atypical ICO. the normal rules may not apply. |

Why buy LISK after the ICO ended? Why buy Ethereum after the ICO ended? Etc. Speculation, FOMO, pumping, etc. The DAO starts trading immediately after the ICO closes. that is different. |

why would people pay 10X at launch when they can buy it today for X? Why people buy lisk now at 10x when they could buy 10 times less during ico? Same stuff. the Lisk ICO closed many weeks ago. in the time between then and launch further demand grew organically. the DAO closes and then immediately launches. everyone who wants to be in it has the opportunity to be in it at X. there is no wait period after it closes for further organic demand to grow. FOMO, though I doubt very much that it'll go to 10x the final ICO price. Maybe 2x. As for your earlier question, this post says that it requires 48 days to withdraw Ether directly from The Dao - and of course complains about it: https://forum.daohub.org/t/can-we-agree-that-48-days-to-get-your-eth-back-is-unreasonable/2903/12Best that I can determine, getting your ETH out requires two votes. The second vote allows you to split off your portion; the associated smart contract sends your ETH to your personal address. So, in your calculations, a month-and-a-half seems reasonable as a start. My own admittedly non-techie intuition says that hardly anyone will go through the procedure, as it's much much simpler & quicker to simply offload your tokens onto an exchange. fly Lisk fly  it may never fly if they keep dumping it with just few satoshis. if this keeps going until WAVES is out, lisk may be left behind forever. i may even dump mine when if it stays below $0.50 still and would move to WAVES before they're out. waves is a nebulous concept. how will it achieve market adoption? if someone can describe the pathway to market adoption that has a logic to it then i will invest in waves. n.b. i see a very clear pathway to market adoption for Lisk. |

when The DAO closes there's speculation (naturally, this is crypto) that a fair few people will check out by selling the tokens, but as i understand it that will have to be to BTC and not directly back to ETH on exchanges. ETH's price is somewhat static and i'm wondering if this is likely to tempt people to choose LSK? we might see some additional capital flow this way. is my thinking fundamentally flawed?

are you sure you can convert doa back to eth?
All you need to do is bring the tokens to an exchange and sell them for btc and get back in ETH if that is what you want. It is probably the fastest way to make it happend anyway. Me myself will just hold on to my holdings because this is a longterm investment. will there be Token/ ETH pairs? |
