Let that sink in for a moment. Coindesk on twitter...saying they are going to do something on Darkcoin. Based on past performances, probably a hatchet job. I had a fantastic conversation with Stan from Coindesk yesterday. It was about 25 minutes and I gave him a great overview of DarkSend and the masternode system. The article will be great for darkcoin. Looks like coindesk have done the right thing and fixed that article.Pioneered by darkcoin, X11 has slowly gained traction in terms of new coin implementation. Darkcoin, along with Hirocoin and québecoin, are perhaps the most notable examples of X11 coins.

At exactly what time (in what time zone) does the fork/masternode change take effect, and how soon will we know if everything went OK? Thanks.

3 Peercoin $ 47,210,342 $ 2.20 21,420,066 PPC $ 236,540 +2.85 % 4 Darkcoin $ 44,898,721 $ 10.40 4,316,841 DRK $ 3,894,508 +32.82 %
That's calculated with 0.0199... with 0.0209 it's both at 47mn USD.
DRK is going for #3 tonight.
I never saw it on coinmarketcap, but at one point the irc bot said... 4316841 DRK @ 0.02079 DRK/BTC (source:mintpal) = 89747.12439 BTC / $47,453,792.02 USD (source:bitstamp) so it looks like we were just number 3 briefly

They haven't changed coins for a long, long time. Hell, they didn't even add Doge
If btc-e can't find enough dev time anymore to add an alt that keeps closing in on BTC itself in terms of volume, that would possibly double their profits, how can they have their security, safety or support in order? Are they in decay & on the way out? Hello
no planed
I guess we have an answer...

Many people here talk about "expert traders" "chart researchers", some of them call new traders to others to hide their low profile. But the "professional traders" (good or bad) need to fill reports.
One reason for all this pumps and bumps are the end of an important quarter (Q2). Big Investors doesn't stay all day reading forums and analyzing charts, they just read the report and check the results. (they have many other things to do, including investments in other sectors)
We, the real hard workers do this job every day. Most of the workers need to fill a report every quarter. They need a good chart with a good BTC price. Darkcoin will not be important (yet) on this quarter.
Darkcoin will go down hard for some days, but be careful with your decisions about sell/buy/hold.
If that argument remotely held water, we'd be able to look back and see most alts have tended to "go down hard" at the end of every quarter. Is that the case?

Whales are out of coins
I think I see minor flaw in your argument.

Any ideas why btc-e are still throwing piles of money away & endangering their position as a significant altcoin exchange?
Does it take special time and effort for an exchange to add Darkcoin or are they just asleep at the wheel?
They haven't changed coins for a long, long time. Hell, they didn't even add Doge which continues to have plenty of volume (not as much as it used to but still). Weird because I believe Koolio said he was a fan of DRK, yet here we are still not on. Still absolutely shocked that FTC is trading... probably the only thing keeping it alive. Meanwhile, we've just been added to another exchange. If btc-e can't find enough dev time anymore to add an alt that keeps closing in on BTC itself in terms of volume, that would possibly double their profits, how can they have their security, safety or support in order? Are they in decay & on the way out? I'm kind of sad about that. Their trollbox was fun. I think I'll miss them.

It looks like the masternode count has been inflated due to a bug in the old protocol. My guess is we have less than 50 masternodes (currently I see 34 active).
I also see 34. So... 34x Masternodes = (576/34) blocks * 10% of the reward = 11.3DRK/day? ROI roughly every 3 months!? ...until more people rush to buy DRK for masternodes...

btc goes up .. drk goes down... is this because people sell dark and buy btc?
Drk just started going back up

There's a lot false marketing going on Twitter to herd people to buy into MRO: "Second generation anonymous", "Darksend" etc.
What people need to realise, that there is a difference between a fork of 2 year old Bytecoin (MRO) and a freshly developed and constantly improved coin with at least 2y development plan.
Would I trust a clone without a known developer and track record of what is going on, how to develop the tech etc.? Trading fine, long term no (not yet at least).
So my money are on DRK.
Monero just cancelled their logo bounty after getting tons of free design ideas, because (probably partly thanks to the logo competition itself) the coins value went up. So at 300 MRO we have no incentive to pick a design from all your hard work here instead of just going to professionals.
What shady fucks. Can you even imagine Evan pulling shit like that? DRK Forever.
