I don't really care too much about who created Bitcoin, but it might be interesting to see the full story behind it. Would it really change something?

I have tried promoting my referral link that I had on PrimeDice for a while in about a year ago but I wasn't so successful. although I have gotten some referrals and they played a little dice in primdedice but the overall earning was not that good because the weren't active enough. I think I have earned less than 50000 satoshi in total.
Similar with me, I've recently had one referral that spent more than 1 Bitcoin and that earned me a little bit, but sadly not many people that keep on playing. I have only been using the refrral link in my signature, so any earnings are just a nice bonus ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I would like to see how much people have earned by promoting a casino affiliate/referral link here on the forum or in other places. I've recently gotten some referrals through my signature link and earned around 0.007 BTC through it, not much, but I'm sure there are people who've been luckier than me.
If you have any success stories or good strategies, please share!

That's a great idea, and adding a discount for Bitcoin payments would certainly attract some customers. If this happens before the summer, I might even include it in my holiday planning. It would even be better if you got the story out to some Bitcoin news sites, seems like some good free advertising ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Gamble smartly is not to chase the profits, but do it for fun. Gambling without fun is ridiculous.
If you want a fun game, plinko is a good suggestion.
plinko is sure very fun and can be quite addicted. however, i find it quite boring after a while cause i keep losing. but it is good to play once in a day. The OP wants a smart way to play in gambling. I think he is really serious and he does imply about having fun. Maybe he just have to play with sports betting since their a lot of betting odds where he can find value. Probably mentioned here already, but Poker would also be a goods option for this. Not saying you could instantly play as a pro, but even as an amateur it's still possible to play in a smart way and minimize the risk associated with it.

Besides Kinguin, there's also G2A that's accepting Bitcoin, they've done this for a pretty long time. And I think The Humble Bundle also accepts Bitcoin.

The price has been pretty stable for the last couple of months, so I think now would be the best time to buy some Bitcoins. The price will almost certainly rise after the halving.

I don't know if it's really a good idea to use USB sticks for that, I would have made a paper wallet and laminated it. You say you burried it? What if moisture reaches those USB sticks and they don't work anymore?
Not saying it's a bad idea to put your savings into Bitcoin, but I think you could have done it in a better way.

the core wallet does look a bit sh*t tbh, I get where this is coming from. Wouldn't hurt for it to have a GUI update and look a little sleeker
I don't think that the average person uses core, most people would opt for a lightweight wallet or use blockchain.info. More advanced users don't tend to really care about the looks, as long as it's stable and does what it's supposed to do, they're happy. There are a lot of wallets available that do have a pretty user interface, just take a look on https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet and you'll find a number of wallets that have pretty modern and good looking GUI's.

Well, if you're at a point where you've lost everything, it might be time to evaluate if it is smart to keep gambling.

I think it would be a good idea for people in that line of work to use Bitcoin since it could help then with staying anonymous. Perhaps sites that offer Bitcoin payments also take a smaller cut compared to when they use credit cards only.

It would just take too much time to play enough to get that far, your whole life would revolve around poker, and that's not something I would want.

Sadly, but we received a lot of various threats and blackmails. Among those were multiple DDOS threats and recently a blackhat SEO threat with multiple bad reviews if we're not willing to cooperate. Makes sense that everyone wants to make some money, but we're not prepaired to negotiate with this kind of people.
Yeah that's the best thing you can do in situations like that, I do hope you have made enough security precautions. Anyway, it's good that you're open about these kind of things. Good luck with that, and it might be benificial to check on leakforums etc, there might be a thread about it there..

The 'best' way is different for everyone, I consider the best way to be something with the least amount of hassle, that's why I use Bitonic.nl. They charge a premium but I have my money in my bank account the same day (priority transaction)
But if you want less fees, I'd suggest localbitcoins or exchanges like Kraken (personal favourite)
|
|
|
2.9% fees and you're calling that 'Not bad'? For me that's just too high to even bother looking into that. And yeah chargebacks are a huge problem since Bitcoin transactions are not reversible, there's your reason why most companies wouldn't even bother.

I would really suggest you use Coinbase, that's the safest option in my opinion. Though it isn't exactely cheap to buy Bitcoin with credit card.
|
|
|
I think coinbase is indeed the cheapest, but compared to other payment methods you're definitely paying quite a lot of fees. Virwox would also be an option, otherwise I do not know of many other places where you can buy Bitcoin with visa
|
|
|
I use Bitonic.nl to buy and sell Bitcoin, but they do charge a premium for making the transactions as fast as possible. I would currently get 383 euro for 1 Bitcoin ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I'm looking to make some actual profit out of the $50 in Bitcoin I have. Is there someone I can give my bitcoins to, and have them buy and sell the stocks for me, and take a small cut for themselves?
You are opening yourself up for scammers, I would just learn and experiment by myself instead of giving other people money to do this for me. And I don't think it's currently possible to buy stocks directly with Bitcoins, like other have said before me. 50 dollars is also not that much, I would save up a bit more to start trading stocks, you could invest in some altcoins alternatively
