4801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 14, 2022, 05:17:03 PM
How about Joel Embiid putting up the best stat line of the year so far last night. He got 59 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 blocks. A monster night. He also scored 26 of the 76ers final 27 points. He did it all while shooting 19 of 28 from the field. They’re saying it was a Wilt Chamberlin style stat line. Not bad. Just yesterday I was reading that the 76ers were trying to work a deal to get Durant to Philly…
4802  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don’t make any crazy/suicidal moves in this bear market on: November 13, 2022, 09:24:07 PM
Now is a good time to make some moves to secure your coins if you haven't already done so.  Moving shitcoin balances into BTC and removing from exchanges is a great way to ensure that you won't be destroyed from this mess.  Common sense would also say that if you are able, now is a good time to be buying while everyone else is in a panic.  I would just urge folks not to sell their portfolio for cash here and throw up their hands at the crypto market.  Things will recover from this event, if even temporarily.  Now is the time to force exchanges to be solvent or go under.  Go to BTC, remove it from the exchanges...
4803  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask! on: November 13, 2022, 09:21:42 PM
As the premium grows this becomes more and more enticing.  It's basically a bet that it will be converted to a spot ETF or liquidated before fees eat away any gain you would have gotten from the premium disappearing.  I think at a more than 40% premium it might be worth grabbing a little here for retirement accounts.  I think we'll see an approval in the next couple of years and I have a hard time fathoming that this fund will continue as is and not dissolve itself if the premium continues to grow.  For gamblers who think that an ETF approval could come sooner rather than later, it also could make an attractive options play.
4804  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 10oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seats on: November 13, 2022, 06:45:24 PM
I still have my 5oz that I bought a few years back - one of my favorite pieces!

Thanks for chiming in with your satisfaction.  The 5oz was indeed a great piece and the largest proof-like coin I've made.  The 10oz is admittedly less shiny, but the hurdles to having it created makes it a bit more rare and valuable in my opinion.  With only around a dozen or so left, don't miss out on the chance to add this to your collection as well.  Smiley  With no more plans to create any more minted seats in the works, this 10oz will likely be the cream of the crop when it comes to silver coins I've created.
4805  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Celsius, Terra, FTX Crash All Are Prove That Bitcoin Is The Only Trusted Crypto on: November 13, 2022, 06:42:42 PM
Probably only a matter of time before BNB is included in this list as well.  Sure, Binance was the first exchange to grift users with their own coin in order to get ridiculously rich.  They may have even managed to get enough adoption to keep this alive for a few cycles.  I think it is pretty much inevitable that things like this fail though.  Maybe CZ will be the exception, and the BNB rollout along with reduced exchange fees to give it a use case was wildly successful and something that has been emulated many times since, although usually unsuccessfully as was the case with FTT.  Just be careful out there.  Know the value of the things you're buying and be careful.
4806  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predictions, predictions, predictions... on: November 13, 2022, 05:41:27 PM
I predict that a lot of users who think they own Bitcoin on exchanges are going to be very unhappy to discover they don’t. Exchanges are playing hot potato with user funds trying to provide proof of reserves while in reality they’ve sold you Bitcoin IOUs and likely aren’t holding anywhere near the BTC they’ve sold you. If you haven’t taken your funds off an exchange yet and you’re reading this, mentally prepare yourself for a total loss, because it’s coming.

how some people see the forum and what drives them to participate here. Not very surprising though.

She’s literally getting paid to promote a money laundering operation and trying to question other people’s motives for participating here… Total scum. Remove the signature if you want to sit on a high horse about why people post here, otherwise you just come off as a hypocrite that doesn’t want to see anyone else earn pennies for helping provide value to the forum while you get paid to spam here in order to help criminals launder their funds.
4808  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BREAKING: BINANCE STOPS WITHDRAWALS on: November 13, 2022, 05:31:05 PM
I believe Binance just posted proof of having over seventy billion dollars worth of coins in their reserve. It would take a whole lot of withdrawals before they’d be anywhere near a position to stop them. The big concern to have with Binance is that their BNB token is not a ton different than Luna or FTT. If you see BNB suddenly start taking a dive, then I’d advise you get everything off Binance. So long as their token holds value, they won’t have any problems, just like FTT and Luna.

Pereira just knock out Adesanya in the last round Pereira did it again and now its three in a row for Pereira.I have Adesanya way ahead of the on the last four rounds until Adesanya became careless and hit with a barrage of punches those punches are power punches that the referee have to step in and stop the fight, so we have a new Middleweight Champion of the world in Pereira.

I think you could see this coming before the fight. Adesanya in the press conference looked like he was afraid of Pereira. You could see he was uncomfortable and I thought he was already mentally prepared to lose. I had hoped he’d step up and show his growth in the sport but Pereira was bullying him at the end. I thought the probably could’ve stopped the fight sooner. It will be interesting to see if Adesanya will participate in a rematch or if he just wants to move on.

And just like that, Clippers missing a lot of 3's, don't know why they keep on attempting, Powell, George, Wall and Jackson missing.

Curry, hitting back to back 3's, I think this is it for the Clippers, down 11 right now with 3:41 minutes. Unless they score in bunch and make the game close.

Score is 99-88.

Yeah, the Nets beat the Clippers thanks to Curry because he had an impressive performance, especially in the 4th quarter. By the way, he managed to score more than 20 points for the second game in a row, and it looks like Irving's absence is a good opportunity for Curry because he gets more playing time. As for the Clippers, I'd say George's poor field-goal percentage was one of the main reasons why they lost this game.

Ya, that was a poor shooting night for Paul George. He went 1-6 from 3 point range and 5-21 from the field. You won’t beat the Nets shooting like that when Durant and Seth Curry are shooting well. The worst shooting of the night goes to LaMelo Ball though in his first game of the year back from injury. He shot 1-9 from 3 point range in their loss to the Miami Heat.
4811  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk is one of the keys to be 100k$ per Bitcoin? on: November 12, 2022, 11:28:15 PM
While Tesla accepting BTC for cars would be a positive for Bitcoin no doubt, I don't think that's the $100K Bitcoin catalyst.  More likely it would be an ETF, so you could say regulators are the key.  If I were going to put it on specific people though, I think Tim Cook or Jeff Bezos are better candidates.  If Apple had a native Bitcoin wallet or Amazon started using Bitcoin it could spur adoption at significant levels.  Maybe we'll get them both this cycle along with an ETF.  We can dream.  Summer 2025!
4812  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX has been hacked, delete the app, don't go to website on: November 12, 2022, 10:36:44 PM
People on twitter are saying that Sam has been spotted speaking with authorities as of a couple hours ago. It seems like he may actually end up in jail. When you think about how he was donating so much money now it doesn’t make him seem like such a great guy. I don’t know what laws he broke exactly, but losing billions of dollars of other people’s money doesn’t make him seem as altruistic as he was being presented a few weeks ago.
4813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is "Solana" Will be the Next to get Killed.. on: November 12, 2022, 10:28:03 PM
I think there’s concern about Solana for sure. The Google news was positive for the network but FTX going down is bad for the price. Now with the wrapped Bitcoin issues you have to wonder how many people have lost confidence in Solana. It seems to be mostly favored by young people and those somewhat new to crypto and don’t have the same decentralization values as the older folks. I think the time to sell is probably in the rear view, but I’d rather own BTC over SOL.
4814  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hmmm....No way! on: November 12, 2022, 10:21:20 PM
Don’t underestimate the power of fractals. While different market factors have made things not as clear cut as they’ve been in the past, I think the future will still rhyme with history. You can’t deny the block reward’s effect on the exchange rate over time and so far things are performing about as expected if you are a believer of the fractal pattern. I would feel better buying here than at $50K. Unless the crypto experiment is over, now is a time to be a buyer and not a seller.
4815  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predictions, predictions, predictions... on: November 12, 2022, 09:03:28 PM
10k$ is a fair price for this year's bear season and I am waiting for that too, it will happen soon, there will be another more devastating story for the market to plummet again. Keep waiting, I still won't buy at current price, still too high for me.

You could be right, but if so I think you’d probably have to wait until the mtgox coins and the us gov coins hit the market. That could be nearly a year. If you have the patience maybe you could get lucky. There’s also a chance we’re seeing the worst of it now and when the massive groups of coins hit the market they’re swept up by large investment companies. That’s why I think dollar cost averaging in throughout this entire bear market is the way to go.
4816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 12, 2022, 09:01:04 PM
The Clippers hosting Nets will be a good game to watch later. The visiting team will be without Kyrie again but they've been getting better results as we've seen in their last four games. Which team are you going for? I'm taking Clippers on ML. Odds at 1.84 looks good since they've been playing well lately too.

I agree that the Nets vs Clippers game is the best game of the day. I won’t be able to watch it because I don’t have that channel so I won’t be betting on it. I’m not sure I’d know who to bet anyway. I’m assuming Kawhi and John Wall won’t be playing and with Kyrie out and Ben Simmons still struggling, it’s like a match up of the most inconsistent teams in the league. I hope they can both manage to get things figured out before too much longer.
4817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stop the panic, I doubt we will see 14k or less Bitcoin on: November 12, 2022, 05:58:44 PM
I expected we’d see $13K at some point in this bear market so I think things are holding up well after this black swan event. All eyes are still on the US government BTC auction, the ETH2 coins being unlocked, and mtgox distributing their coins as this latest crisis ripples through markets. I wouldn’t be making crazy long bets here, but I think the bottom is close. You just need to close your eyes for the next year.
4818  Economy / Speculation / Re: All Assets are seized for FTX... Its over! on: November 12, 2022, 05:54:34 PM
Yes you should delete the FTX app on your phone because there are reports of some malware version being pushed onto the Google play/App store. You should also avoid visiting ftx.com since it can install some malware.

You think it can't get worse and it just does. Even before it shut down. There was weird stuff going on the exchange like BNB being pumped to like $1000 while the spot price was $300. I think they were just trying to liquidate as many traders as possible to bring down their liabilities.

BNB doesn’t seem all that different than FTT if you ask me. It’s likely even more dangerous due to its size. I sold all my BNB when Binance stopped charging trading fees as it seemed to me to be useless once that happened. I’m sure Binance has plenty of money but don’t think that what happened to Luna and FTT can’t happen to BNB. If I’m an American, I’m avoiding Binance.us like the plague. If FTX.us doesn’t display that these companies will do crazy risky things internationally and then lump their US entities in when things go bad, I don’t know what would…
4819  Economy / Speculation / Re: All Assets are seized for FTX... Its over! on: November 12, 2022, 06:50:21 AM
Even the portfolio tracker iOS app is no longer working. That’s a shame. I always thought it was the best portfolio tracker available and thought it was odd when it was purchased by FTX seemingly out of nowhere. I hope it is able to be revived or someone else builds a good portfolio tracker app. I’ll be sad to no longer have instant access to market data and valuations on my entire holdings list.
4820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MATIC LEADING THE ALTCOINS MARKET on: November 12, 2022, 06:48:26 AM
It's very obvious matic is leader among all cryptos ATM
👀

MATIC has a lot of reasons to be bullish. The Polygon network is pretty great and their partnerships seem to expand almost daily with some of the largest brands in the world. I like where MATIC is going a lot but I feel like it had such a massive explosion in value it will take some time before the coins get distributed enough to be fair. Right now it seems like a few players are still sitting on massive gains that need to be realized.
