4821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why I believe bitcoin will crush in the distant future on: June 01, 2020, 05:39:23 PM
You misunderstood the concept when someone has lost his bitcoins forever. It will actually help to make the remaining bitcoins rare because the supply is lesser.

And that means, a higher price for bitcoin.

Hmm, I smell an incredible price-jump in the future  Roll Eyes
Yes, and that is the reason why everyone is saying HODL. Save as much as you can, we just went through the halving and the cycle after that is common for most bitcoin holders. But if you have no idea, check the history of the 2 halvings on 2012 and 2016.

All right. The fewer bitcoins circulating in the world, the higher the demand for them and, accordingly, the higher the price.
Obviously, over time, bitcoins will become smaller due to the fact that people will lose access to their private wallets or, as you said, in the event of death.

However, most of the people will surely be safe for this case, especially exchanges that own a huge number of bitcoins.
The bitcoin deficit will increase in a natural way, which will make this asset especially desirable.

I am sure there will be many more forks on this subject.
In case of death, I think we have our own plans of how we will introduce our private keys to our parents, children or immediate relatives. But, I'm not thinking of that, don't think of it so that we won't have worries in our minds which might be the actual reason why we'll be in stress.

Bitcoin is not like a bank meaning that cannot be used as inheritance. So will it live only on our era? Will it be lost in the future?
Hal managed to pass his bitcoins to his children.

Those discussions about inheriting your bitcoins are of more than academic interest. My bitcoins are stored in our safe deposit box, and my son and daughter are tech savvy. I think they're safe enough. I'm comfortable with my legacy.
4823  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Impact Of Commercial Space Exploration on: June 01, 2020, 03:37:07 PM
I'm just a bit questionable about the timing though I know it was planned few years ago but did they not consider the fact that the world is having a problem due to the pandemic?
I've thought of this but, IMO it's timely and good to boost the feelings of everyone that's thinking of how bad this pandemic is. In the past, space explorations became the talks and gathered a lot of attention of the entire world and nothing has changed.

Except the fact that it's SpaceX, a private company together with NASA.

I'm thinking the impact of this launch for other countries that are looking forward to have the same launch as SpaceX's. Musk's is moving forward and has a high target of sending space tourists in the near future which means huge profit for his company.

This will create competition and we might see a competitor soon.

What impacts do you predict this would have and should Bitcoin go to the moon, would you be boarding a rocket to space?
It's going to be an expensive trip so, I'll save myself for that and would be happy to see others getting there soon. Musk holds a small amount of bitcoin and who knows if a logo of bitcoin will be attached to one of his rockets.
4824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Voided Bets: Can a betting site void a game which is accepted by the league? on: June 01, 2020, 02:41:33 PM
I've read your post to the rand's thread but I'll reply here because it seems to be the one that you have said.

I have experienced some games before that I should win my bet but the bookie didn't counted my win. They haven't mentioned the reason but as suggested, it probably have something to do with their rules. It really feels unfair for us specially if we should have won the bet and match.

If they have voided your bets on that specific match between Team Unique and Vikin.GG, sorry but we can't do anything with their decision.
4825  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will governments do next to manipulate Bitcoin? on: May 31, 2020, 10:08:44 AM
They have already figure it out that bitcoin is working for their citizens so it's now time to take advantage of that use. They won't ban bitcoin, as a matter of fact only few countries did banned it because they don't understand it. The only thing they know about bitcoin is it's the money of criminals and illegal transactions but they don't see the usefulness of it.

looks like the government now taking their piece of cake?but what government would not want to gain?looks how much money is now inside this market?the amount that inside crypto is enough to feed the whole 3rd world country.
As if that's the main agenda of the governments that want to get inside to bitcoin. They're in it because there's money and it doesn't matter to them if it's for the sake of their people or for personal interest, it's the reality which we knew about governments.

Quote
How much money does it require for them to manipulate bitcoin? I don't think that they'll go with that game but instead take the advantage and pay attention to their citizens that's making money out of it and tax them because it's volatile for them  to play bitcoin's game of manipulation.
actually what OP is saying is those government is making issues to shaken the market and not manipulating with Big budget.
That's the point and do you think they can shake or manipulate the market without anything inside their pockets? You can't shake the entire bitcoin market or any market without any huge fund involved.

Who was watching the game 2 of Vikin.gg vs. Team Unique yesterday?

The kills were 22-11 in favor of Team Unique but then with the technical glitch the decision of the admin was that Vikin.gg won by default. Apparently, Team Unique wasn't allowed to play 4 vs. 5.

Here's another issue, was that decision by the admin enough for my bets to be acknowledged? Does anybody here also bet on specific games in addition to or rather than just win/lose?
I have watched the match and that's a bitter lose for Team Unique despite they led the game and they were about to take the game, they still lost. But, it's the admins to decide and there are certain rules that each team have to follow and consider.

Did you just bet specifically for game 2 or you have bet for the series winner? At the end of the series, it's Team Unique won. If you bet for game 2 only, the bookie should acknowledge the match winner(Vikin.GG) declared by the admins because it's technically the winner. And the admins just declared "default loss" for Team Unique because their Luna can no longer connect, this is the same as the TNC vs. Cignal Ultra issue.
4827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China's new law for protecting CryptoCurrency. on: May 31, 2020, 08:14:23 AM
This could be related to what they are about to launch, the Digital Yuan or the Chinese CBDC. That law means that every person that owns cryptocurrency is required to record somewhere his private keys. Where's the place?

We don't know, we have no idea what's the complete law under that civil code. But as long it's not the government and each owner should just keep it individually, I guess there's no problem if it is like that.
4828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cheapest, most reliable way to buy Tether (USDT) using FIAT on: May 30, 2020, 08:17:33 PM
You have included YoBit to the poll and you shouldn't be thinking of using them directly buying fiat with any crypto that they have. Lots of bad experiences were told in the forum about withdrawals so, don't better to cross them on your list.

You have heard the community and we're all agreeing that your best choice is Binance. It's normal to have charges and that's how they make money so if you think that it's kind of high and you are not convinced, keep checking the other good exchanges.

GG boys!
Well played rand!

All matches are BO3. Betting risk is very high here, so guys don't go high bets. All those picks are extremely risky, like all matches in this league.
As you say and recommended, I'll just watch most of these matches for today. But I've got a feeling for VP.P, Nigma and Secret. Although your pick is with Alliance still, good luck with your bets. You're always this good rand.

4831  Economy / Securities / Re: Seeking investors to launch an eSports betting business on: May 30, 2020, 08:55:03 AM
This is like Onehash, they're also a mutual betting bookie. I thought when you have said about investors, you're looking for funding to the entire platform that you're building but little did I know that it's already built.

The structure that you're asking the investors is to simply bet and increase the volume day by day. You didn't mention how the investors will make from that structure.

I would like to make profit-sharing agreements with any investors.  Fees on betting are low (0.10% to 0.5%), but with good volume there should be money coming in.

It is also a very liquid investment.  Investors hold the private keys to their money and can cash out their stablecoins at any time.
This looks more a long term venture with you and for the investors. I think you must include that profit-sharing idea on your first page so that if a potential investor of yours comes in, he has an idea how would be the business structure and idea you're offering to them.

As you have mentioned stable coins, so this is going to be a bitcoin and stable coins accepting esports bookie?
4832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: May 29, 2020, 04:14:37 PM
Yeah, thought so but I was thinking maybe I am missing something because of all the hype. I watched some DOTA game and commentators got wild shouting Battlepass is out. I guess they get easily excited Smiley
It's getting the hype because every year it's giving new style of the items that they've produced before. And 25% of all the sale goes to the fund for the prize pool of Dota 2's The International. But for this year, there's no TI. TI is like the Christmas of Dota 2.

And the current went to $10M already within just few days. So the hype is real not just for the items but for the prize pool that it has collected from battle pass.  Grin

Whether we have battle pass or none, we can still bet and play.

Thanks @sunsilk!
I'm also aiming for that physical item of aegis, hoping to reach 1000 if ever there's a sale. I'm ready to spend just in case there's a sale of levels, this is also a support for the upcoming TI!
Yup, this is the mindset of most players. They're buying for supporting TI and the items that they get is a great exchange for showing support.
4833  Economy / Speculation / Re: What’s next for Bitcoin? on: May 29, 2020, 03:30:57 PM
What's next? we can speculate what we want to say like, it will keep the sentiment and stay to the stable prices that it has for the past few weeks. Volatile as it is and will remain to be like that but there's this speculation that I've read.

Whenever bitcoin reaches a new all time high, the volatility will become lower and price will become more stable. I just heard it somewhere and that's how some think of what's next for bitcoin. Needless to say, bitcoin won't change as a decentralized crypto and adoption is growing which is favorable for everyone.
4834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: May 29, 2020, 02:48:53 PM
Expect that prize ATH for the upcoming TI. Have you seen the history of the Saudi Arabia Prince? one of the huge supporter of battlepass ever since.

I know right?

I thought that it might just be a meme or something made up by someone on the internet but I guess we can say it is true. The price of TI exploded to $8M+ in just 24 hours, take note, just 24 hours and since TI delayed, we still have a lot of time to build that up to something impressive.
It's getting bigger and bigger every single day. I also thought of that as a meme but AFAIK, Gaben invited the prince to even attend the TIs before but to no avail. He's an important person of their country that's why gatherings like TI is kind of an impossible event for him to attend but we don't know in the future if he'll grant the invitation.

I bought battle pass recently and will wait for the sale of its levels so I can reach the level where I will gain the arcana of wraith king.

The idea of gaben to put 2 personas and 3 arcanas is very interesting so it'll make a huge pot of price this upcoming TI.

Now, this is the current prize pool for the next TI. - $10,670,223

Good luck finale! The WK arcana is very awesome as it's like a tribute to Skeleton King(WK) of Dota 1. They always create something new every battle pass and it's surely biting us, the Dota 2 fans. Phew! $10.6M within just short time.
4835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mmorpg, Bitcoin, and Gambling on: May 29, 2020, 02:14:58 PM
~snip~

The idea of betting is just when you're entering through a PvP zone room or area. And this is usual in MMORPG games. So the essence of the game being a game isn't gone, the feature of betting through your opponent is an added feature which isn't bad.

Exactly. The concept of betting will only apply to player vs. player (PVP) such 1on1/group duel, guild wars, and other massive wars.
When I was very active playing MMORPGs there's not that much feature or side bets like this when you're in guild wars, club wars or even a player vs. player match. I remember that there were players before that's thinking of this but there's no such platform that exists to guarantee the bet.

Because, if someone loses, he can simply go away and won't pay the winner. Unless, these players know each other and the betting would be p2p.
4836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mmorpg, Bitcoin, and Gambling on: May 28, 2020, 02:49:24 PM
^ I find it really interesting, playing an online game with bitcoin betting then I can no longer consider it as an online game instead it is already online gambling because for me any games that bring entertainment to the player and of something that has value will be at stakes like money or bitcoin then it is gambling. The idea of using bitcoin in purchasing something in an online game is not bad at all for it it can expand the range of usage of bitcoin and more people will realize and embrace it that will sort out for global adoption. Nevertheless, I am not fond of playing online games but if bitcoin will be used to bet in such games might as well I should ask someone now to teach me how to play those games.
You missed some ideas with the concept that op discussed. It's still an online game because there's economy but the game currency can be sort of crypto and it could be bitcoin or any accepted altcoin.

The idea of betting is just when you're entering through a PvP zone room or area. And this is usual in MMORPG games. So the essence of the game being a game isn't gone, the feature of betting through your opponent is an added feature which isn't bad.

Damn! that's too hot, Valve you're always making things crazy. I guess most fans accepted it already that there will be no TI for this year. There's more to come by next year and we can enjoy watching and betting with the regional tournaments made by several orgs and Valve themselves.

I guess it is for the better of the players and the other people who will be part of it.

Since TI is delayed for next year, Battle Pass is released with 3 arcanas and 2 new personas. I guess we will be having another ATH when it comes to price pot of an esports event.
Expect that prize ATH for the upcoming TI. Have you seen the history of the Saudi Arabia Prince? one of the huge supporter of battlepass ever since.

MATCH: Nigma vs Unique

Yes, I called Team Unique one of the weakest teams in this tournament. And immediately when I said that we witnessed one of the biggest upsets in the last month or two. Unique has 2-0’ed Team Secret on Wednesday in their group. They’ve managed to give first loss to Team Secret after 2 months, and in what way. Together with that impressive win, Unique has 2 losses, one vs NaVi and one vs Family Team (ex Aggressive Mode). On the other side, Nigma is continuing with their struggle, as they have dropped a map to very weak Gambit who is 0-4 in their group currently. Can Unique continue and expand their impressive performance to Thursday too. Can they threaten Nigma and take a map or even map series off them? We will see, I believe they can take a map, but that’s all. Odds are so juicy too. Nigma is 3-0 in the group stage, even though they lost a couple of maps vs much weaker teams, and odds on their ML win are really low, not worth betting for. So either you pick handicap -1.5 on Nigma or handicap +1.5 on Unique. My bet is Unique.
You are not the one who assumed Team Unique to be a weak team. But they have proved us wrong. I thought that it was a sure and easy win for OG but it's 2 straight wins so, that's already a buff for this team and broke a lot of expectations and bad impressions upon seeing their team included in this tournament. Good luck to your bet with them, Nigma was also choking these past few tournaments. It's about to start within few moments.
4838  Economy / Speculation / Re: Some Interesting pump in BTC on: May 28, 2020, 12:49:00 PM
I don't think it will break out of the strong resistance at $ 10k5. In fact, the price of bitcoin will still have to follow the world stock market. Now it is sideway because nothing has been done yet. in the United States and many European countries have not yet controlled their epidemics, so it is highly likely that an economic downturn will come. This will make the market sell off strongly. so I don't recommend buying bitcoin at this price, it's too risky.
If it's just a few weeks ago, it's highly recommended to buy bitcoin but that's not the case. Long term holders would certainly buy at any price as long as they have an aim to see for better highs for bitcoin. The cost averaging is working for those who use that strategy.

Have you seen the time when oil was massively dropping and it made a noise worldwide? that didn't have any relation to bitcoin. Despite the downturn for oil, bitcoin didn't reacted on that.
4839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: May 28, 2020, 10:49:40 AM
And now we are at $8.5 million. In just a matter of hours. DOTA 2 still rocks!
Things escalated quickly for the TI10 prize. This only shows that there's still plenty of Dota 2 players that supports the game and want to see the most awaited tournament to happen and that depends how Valve will make it happen.

And a little update. As we speak, the prize pool has already climbed to $9.6 million.

It was just perfect for TI 10 to be moved to the following year. No need to try to squeeze it within the year amidst the pandemic. It will greatly diminish the fun because of the risk. TI 10 in 2021 will definitely be a bang!
Damn! that's too hot, Valve you're always making things crazy. I guess most fans accepted it already that there will be no TI for this year. There's more to come by next year and we can enjoy watching and betting with the regional tournaments made by several orgs and Valve themselves.

So hard to make Dota 2 bets nowadays on higher odds at this stage... Impossible to make right choices, especially handicaps. Well, tomorrow is another day! GG

#Dota2 today 2/6
#csgo today 3/3

Small profit +
Sometimes it really happens but I guess you'll make more after this group stages. More serious games starts on playoffs. For this group stages, I'll guess I'll go with the bandwagon with Team Unique.  Tongue

I do agree with #1.

It's about the emotion because losing your calm will make you do the YOLO thing. You will become unstoppable to the point that you're not thinking anymore of the consequences that might come with your wrong action.

Managing the emotion is included in the acceptance of temporary defeat.
