4821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Extremely low bounty rewards on: April 29, 2020, 07:28:00 AM
It is not appropriate to start a bounty just by looking at the amount of coins. Many platforms offer many coins but in the end, we discovered that it's fake.
That type of a blatant scam would lead to a career suicide for the account who is managing the bounty even if they go under the excuse that they are not the bounty issuer. However such things can happen but the would not complete fake maybe worthless in the market but not fake as long as they are ether tokens. For a newly launched blockchain though fake is possible.

So, look at the quantity and verify the authenticity of the project.
You cannot verify authenticity of projects easily. Say it is about a mining farm, you can go and visit it. Say it is a project like bitcoin - would you be able to physically verify it? Its tough and thus people are unable to do so.

These loopholes are used by companies to surreptitiously launch scam schemes. Its best to stay way from altcoins if you suspect these.
4822  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: April 29, 2020, 07:21:36 AM
The new site is way better and more responsive than the last update. I think this should be already an alpha if not a beta in terms of how good the UI is working, but of course there will be some bugs so beta is justified. Wondering how many more surprises  FJ has in store for its players during this period. Their team seems to be churning out stuff before you know it and in times of hardship this is a good sign.

This should work great for the gamblers because everyone likes a change in the times of dullness.
4823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble right after coronavirus outbreaks? on: April 28, 2020, 06:52:11 AM
Many people are going to gamble straight right after.
They are still playing if you check the top dice sites and casinos you will find a lot of high rollers who are least bothered about money or the lack thereof in this crisis period. Dice sites or the casino sections of bigger sites have not shut down since they dont need humans to run. Live games and sports betting is mainly stopped.

Quote
The amounts that they are going to play is not going to be big. This will happen as people want right now to see soccer being played. As they will watch footbal they will want to gamble on the games they watch as well.
Well you need to have the games first in order to bet on them - right? Grin
If there are no games happening then you wont have a chance to bet. It will like huge demand from players but no games to bet on. It will take time to get back to the pre-crisis situation. But the gamblers are ready and I am sure if thing continue as it is then casinos will come up with newer methods of games to keep their business running.
4824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Body Of Control? on: April 28, 2020, 06:42:45 AM
If these financial crisis gets worse and global uncertainty gets high. A new system could replace the fiat.
Very less likely though. We have seen fiat survive through the Depression and Economic recessions for a long time. Government has its method to increase the supply and print more money making the inflation rise. During this time people are more interested in buying essential stuff than go for a newly mentioned cyberpunk currency.

When blockchain and back get working together will possible for government to control of bitcoin transaction and there not hidden of document from wallet address, I think become transparent about how document some one hidden and get bigger chance from government to know who have many bitcoin and altcoin assets.
The OP's saying is less likely to happen. But government regulations can happen at one time in the future. There would be nothing wrong with that as long as you are no using the money for illegal purposes. The authorities also keep check on your stock market trading too but do they interfere? Rarely unless you are doing something that accounts to wrongdoing.
4825  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why not decentralized exchange..? on: April 28, 2020, 06:37:47 AM
Rather, it all comes down to the issue of risks.
Risks are there in both. Both can get hacked. CEX is more prone to extort your KYC at one time. DEX is more prone to shutting down and exit scamming. Which path do you want to take? Rather a local CEX of your country which follow legal bindings - give them your KYC and use it at ease with local currency than getting your money in limbo with no authorities to report it to?

Quote
If it is likely that deposits will be equal to 50% for each, many of them must pay a deposit even a small amount.
There is no discrepancy of deposits on either of CEX or DEX, individual sites may vary but I dont think any of the exchanges have any deposit fee as caution money or so. Did I miss out on your point?

Quote
However, now everyone believes that the probability of breaking into large exchanges is less than 1%.
You mean getting hacked? This probability is always there and the only way to prevent it is to stop using the exchanges which is practically not possible. What is practically possible to not store coins on exchanges for long duration.
4826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins Need a Catalyst to push up prices on: April 28, 2020, 06:30:57 AM
I don't think it's fair to compare BNB, OKB, KCS, altcoins that have strong support and daily using in exchange to other altcoins. What you do it like compare a AAA developer EA, Ubisoft to indie developer. Price is not an only factor showing how well an altcoin performed so push up prices is not like a must-do thing.
Comparisons always happen. Because the human mind is prone to taking it for granted the explanation that seems obvious but is an assumption only. Now indie projects should not be thought to be similar to altcoin projects because although the concept of altcoin project behind gaming scenes is niche but it is lacking that indie concept of development. Moreover indie projects are never meant to be mainstream while altcoin projects have wanted it but failed to do so.

From my own point of view the major cause of bad price of altcoin is as a result of dumping by investors and bounty hunters who are not care about how little the profit they realise.
To some extent yes. But the factor that made them sell off at loss is also to be thought of. If these projects had actually developed something useful in the first place then this situation would not have happened.
4827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Things you shouldn't do when gambling at casino this time... on: April 27, 2020, 05:37:20 AM
Until further notice or until the government isn't declaring that their jurisdiction is corona virus-free, they have to remain close. It's better to be safe than sorry and stay at home and just enjoy the sudden stopping of everyone whether a gambling addict or not.
Online casinos have flourished during this time. Although there is a human aspect of online casinos too like support staff, development team and live dealers, those casinos are still functioning with a reduced staff roster like other private organisations. Modes of entertainment are low for the addicted gamblers and so they will seek out these options and thus it is a good time to poach of new players who are playing at fiat casinos or land based casinos.

However the money crunch will soon come in. People will start to run out of money to play with and since offices are closed and salaries are being cut, it would better to keep a higher degree of control on gambling.
4828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Uber or Airbnb running on bitcoin on: April 27, 2020, 05:32:50 AM
So, to have those services and more, first, we need to fix the legal status of bitcoin around the world.
Which is obviously going to take a huge time. But once the US starts making bitcoin as legal the other countries will follow suit because they have to stay put with US. Anyway lets not go into the politics of the situation because currently the economic slowdown affected every country and bitcoin legality issues is the least important to them.

There is also the problem with acceptance of bitcoin and its usage for common people, suspicion of being a ponzi which are false. But I guess if it is ever made a legal mode of payment then this barrier might get lifted from the people's mindset and then we might see Cab-hailing services taking bitcoin as payment.

But honestly speaking. I prefer to walk if the place is close or use the public transport, it saves money (almost 10times) and it is good for health.
4829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too good to be real projects on: April 27, 2020, 05:28:55 AM
Fake promises can be easyli identified when you are thoroughly analysing a project
Wrong. They are never identifiable if they are promises. How can you differentiate between a promise that is fake or true when the project itself shows you how its make the money? In face the money making method is a scam as well but peopl fail to understand in the first place. That is why the teams never make anything good out of them. All these projects have failed because they dont have anything develop on. If the fake promises were identifiable then no noob would even put their money in the project.

Quote
if you found something suspicious about the project it is already a red flag and you should stay away from such a project.
A big con would never make itself look suspicious. Use common sense, if you are thief, would you show everyone your methods if you want to steal something?
4830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of fraud crypto analysts! on: April 27, 2020, 05:25:11 AM
I prefer to learn on my own that if I fall it is my responsibility.
I wish everyone in crypto would be like that but we tend to have more of those who like to depend on other and follow that "copy him and I get rich" attitude. I believe they got this from copying answers and passing school  and with this mentality they copy influencer quotes which are more or less questionable.

Quote
A true influencer can offer some of their free knowledge on twitter and there you can prove its veracity.
Free knowledge is available everywhere on the internet. The problem is that the social medias currently have become breeding grounds for these self-proclaimed influencers who promote stuff to get paid and make it seem like that thing is too good while in reality they dont even care about the thing but only in the money. Some people are literally running their lives like this.

Truth is, legal scams have existed like this since a long time. But people never learn.
4831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting strategy. on: April 26, 2020, 07:01:10 AM
Okay, so the strategy is you place your bets in most of the games?
Its more like martingale and a losing method in my opinion. Blindly placing bets on every game you can see is nothing but betting a game on 50-50 chance of win. The question remains, whats the difference from this and dice games?

Sports betting needs analysis and determination to analyse every game to be able to make decisions. Not playing rock paper scissors with the betting options and then placing a bet. There is luck involved but still the point of having an EV+ game is that you apply your skills and make money from them.

Maybe OP profited from placing those bets, I am not following them but there needs to be a reasoning behind placing the bet too.
4832  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet advice? on: April 26, 2020, 06:55:48 AM
I am new to Bitcoin and in the process of setting up a small farm in the basement of my business premises here in the UK.
Well I hope you have chalked out a plan for how many miners you are going to install and how to maintain them and cooling costs. In general mining is a pretty difficult ROI game in this market. You dont want to end up with a bunch of heavy machinery and nowhere to make money without having a huge negative balance. I hope you know what you are doing, but if you need advice, you can talk about it in this forum's "Mining" section.

Quote
Obviously I need to open a wallet however there doesn't seem to be much discussion or advice available on wallet providers.
Go for a hardware wallet and not a web wallet. Web wallets dont give you full control over private keys. Even if they secure it well, it is questionable and you cannot completely trust them. We have had hacks of many exchanges several times and people have lost money due to them.

The idea behind the crypto scene is that one needs to be in control of their private keys to be in control of their coins. You should never reveal your private keys to wallet to anyone, whoever has it has control of spending the coins.

Also the internet search engines are made in such a way that if you look for bad points regarding a hardware wallet, you will only get the bad reviews and not a single website is going to give you a objective opinion about them. However they are most secure that you can unless you are tech savvy enough to keep an wallet in a ArchLinux distro airgapped from the internet.
4833  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Presence of mind while making trades! on: April 26, 2020, 06:48:26 AM
I think is this one of the side effects of having to sign up on more than one exchange just because you hold a specific coin that got listed there and nowhere else. First thing first, for those who have collected altcoin bounties and airdrops in the past, its better to just forget about those coins but of course if they pump then it is a good point to exit them now instead of cluttering your ETH wallet like OP did.

But I guess sometimes we need to be careful about the type of order that we place. Maybe keeping your own double check or triple check policy before placing the trade will minimize chances of similar mistakes in the future. Exchanges where you are familiar with the UI less chances of mistakes happening there.
4834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways To Distribute & Promote a New Coin on: April 26, 2020, 06:41:07 AM
The best way to distribute tokens if there's no ICOs or IEOs is through bounty and airdrop campaign.
Only brings in a bunch of spammers who dont care about the project and there for only dumping the coins on the bear market. A public or private sale is the first way to go, of course a private funding is often first to generate an initial backing before going public.

Quote
Marketing it should take the form of paying for ads in top websites as well as reaching out to known cryptocurrency influencers to talk about the project.
AKA altcoin shill masters? They have lost credibility among the knowledgeable community of the crypto ecosystem. Although these "shitfluencers" are still popular among the newbie crew who dont have the slightest idea of how the market works. Still they only function as advisors when it comes to the token economics. They will sell at a period known only between the owners and the advisors and the bagholders will suffer when they are holding those coins for years but the advisors sell before them. That has happened and led to the demise of majority of coins.
4835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here succeeded a friend to play online gambling now that casino are close on: April 25, 2020, 07:10:21 AM
If my friend is also a gambler, then I probably would suggest online gambling.
More chances that your friend would already know about some well established fiat casino and would not be willing to budge from it and go for bitcoin casinos. So it will end up in that bitcoiner vs nocoiner debate once again and invariably you will end up spoiling your friendship. Wink

Quote
But if my friend is looking for something just to kill time, then I wouldn't suggest this, unless he/she personally approached me about it.
I dont think you should suggest gambling to a friend to kill time. People have the habit of judging everyone and so your friend might take you as a lower standard than you because you gamble - this might seem cruel but it is the truth with many people. You dont want to put yourself in a bad name just because of your gambling so it is better to keep it to yourself.
4836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good capital managemt is important on: April 25, 2020, 07:04:06 AM
Avoid new coins if you wanna trade in the long term. Although listed on the top exchanges, it isn't uncommon for them to actively engage in fraud in terms of price manipulation and trading volume.
You can have general mentality of not investing into altcoins because all of them are good for a short term profits but not long term, still there will be people who are taking that chance with startups on IPOs and get fooled by IEOs here which are named to imitate but failed to deliver. If you want to keep your coins safe, buying bitcoin is what I suggest people.

Long-term investments must be made on top altcoins
Even top altcoins are not give market performers. The only coin you need to make a good profit from is bitcoin - this has been proven so may times seeing the bear-bull cycles and watching the bitcoin and altcoin markets separately.

For a good capital, putting >90% into bitcoin for the amount allotted to cryptocurrencies is a very wise decision.
4837  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Brought Bitcoin in 2017 and sold in 2018 on: April 25, 2020, 06:59:40 AM
Right, there will be time for us to take risks because with our courage to take risks and get out of the comfort zone will give us the opportunity to get returns that might be better. We cannot stay in the comfort zone when we want something big, but that does not mean we are greedy, because basically we do need to increase profits over time.
This might be true for risk takers but not everyone is a risk taker and that is not bad. One person might have money in store to cover up their losses for a long time but some people may not be that prepared with the market.

Now whether holding long term to sell or day trading to buy and sell are two different things and in my opinion both are important. How much you put in the market is less important than how many way you put into the market.

This is different from diversification - which is a wrong thing in this market, because altcoins are shit.
4838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good time to get some Ethereum? on: April 25, 2020, 06:56:09 AM
Ether has risen More than 70% since March 13 and may be about to rise further, It looks like the next ETH 2.0 launch seems to be raising the price of ETH.
Sure just quote a rising segment of a coin and use that as a method to rope in more people to a shitcoin. Market prices are not indicative of development. Just because some whale decided to buy a coin and raise its prices slowly or immediately does not indicate anything good is happening to the coin.

It will be a wrong time to enter when the price has already risen. The time to buy if you wished to would be at the drop when people were selling and not when it is rising. However if you are confident about ETH then do so without any holding back. However previous charts of ETH seem to be useful in this part saying that it has been really bearish in the last 3years.
4839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers are betting on Trotting and Marbles due to Coronavirus on: April 24, 2020, 06:38:05 AM
They will always find a way how to satisfy their inner desires in gambling.
Yes and it will be through something that is not conventionally known like this one.

The casinos have to do something to keep the players incoming too. They have to run their business and so we see this current rise in number of email bonuses, social media promotions and homemade games to bet on which can run indoors.

I am sure some friendly betting games occuring in social gatherings have reduced but it does not take long to combine a digital payment system and an IM chat with making bets with friends and this can be an alternative to gambling at local casinos.
4840  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to improve the usability of bitcoin? on: April 24, 2020, 06:33:13 AM
We all know that Bitcoin is a  high risk investment and those who are ready to venture I to the market should be more careful on how they trade or invest in the technology.
I dont think there are any blockchain tech companies to invest in. Buying bitcoin does not mean supporting the tech behind bitcoin, you might have understood something here. Blockchain is the technology running bitcoin and is being developed by many tech companies but no single company is having monopoly over it. Care to elaborate what you tried to say?

Quote
Bitcoin, was created different from what your are suggesting and going by the payment method, using the Bitcoin for payment is easy to use for those who understand the technology.
So you mean you need to teach the merchant about blockchain and how bitcoin works first? Maybe tak it slow and let them learn on their own. It is tough to understand every mechanism but in simpler terms one can explain it to them. Tough one needs to be careful here because trying to explain how bitcoin works bring out some questions which no-coiners ask like "Its too volatile, its a ponzi" "Is this hackers money" etc - which you will also have to clarify and that is a tough job. Wink

Quote
Any investment done in Bitcoin should be an investment that's on a long-term and not short-term.
Depends on the trader's goals.
