4841  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why it’s important to avoid telling everyone about your crypto holdings on: June 15, 2020, 04:56:21 AM
The first point is way too relatable. Wish I could change it.

Regarding kyc, it's kinda necessary, since it's only gateway to fiat-crypto and vice versa, if you avoid these exchanges, there is only p2p available which puts you at even bigger risk imo

Also, I was stupid enough to do kyc for airdrop, which I deeply regret.

Middlemen are risky in that you must use a highly reputable middleman or the middleman will scam both of you out of the product being bought the money being used to buy the product.

that can only happen if both parties are naive enough to use the middleman aka the escrow in a wrong way!

the correct way of using an escrow (when we are in bitcoin world) is using a multi signature scheme with 3 signers that needs 2 signatures to spend (that would be a 2of3 address). that way neither party can scam alone. the escrow for instance has to get one of the parties to sign the transaction. in other words no one can scam others without collaboration from another party which reduces the risk significantly.

This is the correct way, on forums like tbn/bhw, people often get scammed by middle man. 'trusted' accounts can be compromised.
4843  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: ♠ Casineos.com Fight The Emperor aka Dou dizhu - $300 in BTC Freeroll! on: June 15, 2020, 04:26:14 AM
I'm not sure how to view the result of the game, after game ended, emperor wins, that's it!?

Now it will announce the name of the winners at the end of each game. Player game history is still in the works!

Thank you, and another feedback, players create the table and leave after a while, for example, I just joined a game (2/3), but other two weren't online, game went on. I think you should do something about it.

All game was played by itself and we split the pot.

Stay around here, engage, rank up your account then go to bounties section, join few, then pray rng God, cause most are trash. That's my guide,  for free.
4845  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be Careful Fake Keep Key Chrome Extension on: June 13, 2020, 06:10:23 AM
The question is, why does chrome give room for damn cheats to place phishing applications in their stores ? Does chrome not do verification or some kind of warning to potential users who want to install something on a PC like (always be careful to install anything if the extension does not yet have a good rating and feedback).

They only lighten up when something gets reported several times, feedback/ratings can easily be gamed. Best bet is always to go on official site and download from there.

You seemed chill about losing your account lmao
4847  Other / Meta / Re: Bumped by who on: June 12, 2020, 09:54:28 AM
Hey, I want you to bump my thread on bitcointalk.

Sure thing.

How would I know if you bumped or no though?

Devs are implementing statics, so it would be easier to check.

I think it would just make bump selling easier.

4848  Other / Meta / Re: Should mods deal with the 1 line posters just here to build their counts. on: June 12, 2020, 09:48:29 AM
The user account seems to be deleted so I can't judge the posts, anyway not all one liners are spam, sometimes  it's better to keep it short, you don't have put extra words just so other members don't feel it is spam.

If you feel like it's spam, then ofc report it. There is no punishment for wrong reports.
4849  Other / Meta / Re: Request for Notification Feature in the forum on: June 12, 2020, 09:42:41 AM
Try this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5178331.0

you will receive browser notification whenever someone quotes/mentions you. Some browsers have compatibility problems tho.

4850  Other / Meta / Re: What rewards does the one who Merits someone for quality post gets in return? on: June 12, 2020, 09:36:47 AM
By rewarding good authors you motivate them to post more 'good', and it helps with overall forum quality. That's good thing I guess.
4851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: June 09, 2020, 03:39:49 AM
I like the fact that we can also cash in our GOLD stable coins for real gold.

You can't.

4854  Other / Meta / Re: Automated Merits for 100 Activities /Topics on: June 08, 2020, 04:47:55 AM
Nope, then it will be just like before merit implementation. It won't represent quality anymore, just how much time you have been active on forum.

Only hiccup is, it lacks players.

I agree but more players are coming on a daily basis. Let people know you want to play in the chat box to help get the games started!

Even in chat there are two same players talking and last message was about 12 hrs ago when I logged in.
4857  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [GUIDE] How to Create a Strong/Secure Password on: June 07, 2020, 05:31:35 AM
I use lastpass (online) and password safe (offline encrypted backups). Do not ever save your master password online/offline, it should only be known to your brain. Yes, Take effort to make one complex password and remember it for the sake of security.

You should write down and store it in a safe place ASAP. Security can backfire and cause you more trouble.

I have them stored in by brain, and have them remembered for like 3 years or so. Unless I get alzheimers I'm fine lmao
If you use a password manager, you should change a master password and then all other passwords every year.

Bruh, might be ok for master password, but huge no for every password I would literally go mad.
4858  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: ♠ Casineos.com $250 in BTC Giveaway! (Ends June 2) on: June 06, 2020, 03:20:08 AM
If you really want users to try your service then better not ask for deposit of that 0.002btc. give it away and let the users to try your service with that money.

You are a brand new account and no one is going to trust you upfront.

Cheers

They listened to you, their new promotion don't have such requirement  Grin

At least here you can figure these were spam/scam from broken English, sentences and email domain used, I had few where they were done so well that you couldn't tell these were scams, I fall for it and finally when it asked for private keys my bulbs lighten up.
