Maybe a page where we can see our "activity" , posts made each day, how much "btc we can earn each day". Thanks for the attention !

If anyone cares, I have just released my Chrome browser extension that keeps track of how much you have earned right now. The source code can be found on Github. Why post it here? Because people might like it and I'm to lazy to create a [ANN] thread. Grin

this will help you !

Thanks , I already use that extension . I've discovered it a few months ago (maybe before august) thanks to bitcoininformation aka Mitchełł  Wink. However my it was a request for a "page", as the bitmixer site but with more features.

Maybe marcotheminer can link his actual bot to a page wherein we can insert our forum account id and see all the stats.

4844  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hong Kong's MyCoin Disappears With Up To $387 Million on: February 09, 2015, 09:09:57 PM
MyCoin was not an exchange.

Investors said they were lured by promises of a HK$1 million return in four months for buying a HK$400,000 bitcoin contract which would produce 90 bitcoins on maturity.

It was also a "Trading center" but at the base it was only a ponzi scheme (always this cloud mining  Roll Eyes). These were the services :

How To Get Invitation In Stellar Account My Account Is Motivation
i think invitation system has been stopped.

I don't know, I still have 3 invites but I don't know if it gives any stellar as reward ( you always need a valid facebook account).
when did you received those invites? yeah, they still give out stellar but only 125.

I've received them a couple of months ago, but I don't have a valid facebook account (I've only one account , mine).

@sickhouse, can you provide at least a collateral? Do you have some altcoins or "digital goods"?

This is the article on Finance.yahoo.com:

Leung Yiu-chung said his office recently received reports from dozens of investors in Hong Kong who paid a total of HK$40 million ($5.16 million) into the scheme run online by MyCoin, but the total loss may be vastly more.

"The number of cases is increasing. These two days I received calls about more than 30 cases. We estimate more than 3,000 people and HK$3 billion are involved," he told AFP.

@marcotheminer, don't forget to add me in the month 3's list. Thanks !

I have done so already. The list is the one with the names.

Oh thanks, I thought the username should also be present in the other list. However Can I ask you one thing?

If you have   5 min of free time can you generate the 1° spreadsheet with all "the calculation" for this month? Only for reference, thanks in advance.
4851  Other / Politics & Society / Obama on national security: 'I get a thick book full of death' on: February 09, 2015, 07:50:14 PM
President Barack Obama defended himself against critics of his foreign policy, arguing he's well aware of the challenges facing the nation internationally and has made strides in confronting them.

I get a thick book full of death, destruction, strife, and chaos. That's what I take with my morning tea," he said in a wide-ranging interview with Vox on his foreign and domestic policy priorities published Monday.
...
Obama said, however, the extremist violence arising from sectarian divisions won't be an easy problem to solve. The U.S., he said, is "going to have to have some humility in recognizing that we don't have the option of simply invading every country where disorder breaks out."

I think this time Obama has a lot of work to do.

Topic's title needs to be changed. This is not about an exchange like MtGox but a company which was selling dubious investments, ponzi-like somehow related to BTC.

The op seems to be anti-bitcoin. He is directing it exactly like what serves his purpose.
Maybe you are right , or maybe  he only wants to buy some cheap bitcoin (I don't know).

This is the article of coindesk :

"Reports are emerging from Hong Kong that local bitcoin exchange MyCoin has shut its doors, taking with it possibly as much as HK$3bn ($386.9m) in investor funds.

If true, the supposed losses are a staggering amount, although this estimate is based on the company's own earlier claims that it served 3,000 clients who had invested HK$1m ($12,890) each."

http://www.coindesk.com/hong-kong-exchange-mycoin-disappears-387m-reports-claim/

So it really happened ?
China are good in banning stuff (Google , Gmail etc ...) , now they will block the whole Bitcoin and R.I.P Price , It will probably affect a lot on Bitcoin price since they have a lot of users there (I guess .. since they 1 billion citizens) Shocked

~ Madness

I don't know , for the moment the price is stable. As you see from the various charts:

- https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/btcchina/btccny
- https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/okcoin/btccny

Only a little dump.

4857  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: which is the secure bitcoin wallet ? on: February 09, 2015, 04:59:50 PM
I suggest you to use (or at least check) greenAddress (it uses multiSign). This is the official thread here in the forum:

4858  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain vs Electrum on: February 09, 2015, 04:02:09 PM
Im talking about going from coinbase to blockchain when sending bitcoins.  So is that the blockchain.info?  When i mention blockchain in this site or other sites, everyone knows what im talking about.  So i assume its blockchain.info then?

Yes i downloaded electrum but one fear of mine is if my computer goes corrupt or some thing like that happens.  I know as long as you have the 12 word phrase with you, its fine but that still pretty scary if the client or my computer has problems etc and thats why i want to just go with blockchain instead since as long as you have the password its fine.  Also it requires 2 FA whereas electrum doesn't.  So if someone has access to your computer... then obviously electrum isn't that safe then right compared to blockchain?

Also electrum use a password for every thing you will do ( send a payment, see the private key of an address , etc...). However I suggest you to use electrum, blockchain.info is not a good wallet.

If you want you can also use greenAddress ( with a second level of security "multi signature address").
4859  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain vs Electrum on: February 09, 2015, 03:54:35 PM
Both of these are downloaded to my computer and i set everything up.  However still bit hesistant on which to choose to receive my bitcoins.  From what i read blockchain is very safe and so is electrum.  The big issue is i read blockchain is online so if anything happens to it, ppl can lose their bitcoins.  If thats the case, isn't it going to be everyone with bitcoins on blockchain then or it could be a select few?

I read electrum is better since its on your computer and you control everything.  However... i just noticed i was never asked for 2 FA on electrum compared to blockchain.  Is there a reason for this?  Why is there no 2 FA for electrum?

Also i read that blockchain is better because even if something happens to your computer, as long as you have the backup 12 word phrase you are fine.  But electrum i read is the same thing.  So is there any difference between this?  I know as long you remember your password you would be fine with either but with electrum... you would have to remember the 12 word phrase but blockchain as long as you have the password, that is always enough and of course as long as you have your iphone with google authenicator?

Isn't blockchain an online wallet ?  and Electrum the download one ?

Are you talking about blockchain.info ? I don't suggest it... instead it is better greenAddress.it (multiSig + 2FA+ istant confirm). What do you want more? However also electrum it is a good desktop wallet.
4860  Economy / Speculation / Re: FAKE news: "3 billion HKD lost" in Mycoin.hk bitcoin exchange runoff on: February 09, 2015, 03:34:04 PM
http://www.coindesk.com/hong-kong-exchange-mycoin-disappears-387m-reports-claim/

Ok, so it seams the news are kind of real, but only one half.
"exchange" existed and did scam people for large sum of money, but didnt actualy trade bitcoins, users were only promissed bitcoins after a certan amount of time.
So i highly doubt this will have much negative impact on price.

cheers

I call it "ponzi scheme" , or am I wrong ? "The aggrieved clients, who claim MyCoin is a pyramid scheme packaged as bitcoin trading, said they had been unable to contact the company’s management, while sales staff at higher levels claimed they too had been the victims of deception."

Source : http://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/article/1708308/mycoin-director-quit-one-month-bitcoin-platform-changed-trading-rules

Yes , it was a classical ponzi, where they even asked clients to bring in new members in order to be paid out.
It doent get any clearer than this.
I fail to understand what those people were thinking, if you want bitcoin , then just go and buy them and send to your wallet, everything else is pointless and insecure.

cheers

The people saw "free money" and join (also if they know it is a ponzi). However maybe this will not affect the bitcoin price, but let us wait 48-72 hours.
