Is this problem occuring occasionally while mining or is it even impossible to connect to the pool?
It won't connect at all with that latest GUIMiner client but it worked fine with the last version, so the port and all the other information is correct. I can use the old client if I use your pool. It is just a hassle as I say if I have to switch back and forth between clients due to this or that pool being down. Just inquiring in case there was a known and easy solution I could use to avoid that hassle, but not a big deal if not.

The "privacy from governments & banks" bit will probably alienate a hundred times as many people as it would attract.
I think it's the other way around. It will attract many more people than it will turn off. The people that need external agencies to hold their hand for them will come to it later when everyone else does and it doesn't look so scary for them anymore.

Welcome back. Pool is back online and operational. Downtime was about 18 minutes. Thank you for your patience. Happy mining!
Still getting that "AttributeError: 'HttpTransport' object has no attribute 'failure'" error. Slush's pool is back up though, but it is a hassle having to manually load up the old GUIMIner client to go to this pool when they go down, instead of an automatic fallback.

When I try to connect to your pool using using the latest GUIMiner - v2011-08-24, I get this error:
2011-10-20 09:34:23: Listener for "masterpool" started 2011-10-20 09:34:23: Listener for "masterpool": Traceback (most recent call last): 2011-10-20 09:34:23: Listener for "masterpool": File "poclbm.py", line 67, in <module> 2011-10-20 09:34:23: Listener for "masterpool": File "BitcoinMiner.pyo", line 34, in __init__ 2011-10-20 09:34:23: Listener for "masterpool": File "HttpTransport.pyo", line 20, in __init__ 2011-10-20 09:34:23: Listener for "masterpool": File "Transport.pyo", line 46, in __init__ 2011-10-20 09:34:23: Listener for "masterpool": AttributeError: 'HttpTransport' object has no attribute 'failure'
That version of GUIMiner works with all other pools I have tried.
Thanks

Lol. That wasn't me. I was channeling David Icke. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) It was making fun of the kind of conspiracy stuff which Alex Jones is famous for. It was not an attack on any particular individual, let alone a newbie to the forum, but on taking certain speculations and fears to unwarranted extremes, beyond the evidence (hmm... like some people on this forum perhaps). Call me a hypocrite if you want. Does that excuse your behavior towards Ragnar? I should've known I would become a target of your cyber-stalking. Will you spare my family and friends? I feel I made my point, whether it is agreed with or not, so I will walk on.

... Assume all Hispanics ( or "beaners" as I saw one idiot refer to them elsewhere on this forum ) are illegal aliens, ...
Heh. That was me. 'beaner' is a word which rhymes somewhat with 'border'. It was a semi-inside joke which, unsurprisingly, went right over your head. The intended recipient, who had had some goings around with someone who seemed to care significantly about...er.... immigration issues, seemed to have gotten. I apologize if I considered you a racist when what you were actually doing was speaking out against that type of thing. This thread is perhaps a good example of how satire(sarcasm etc.) isn't always obvious on forums like this, especially to new people who are not familiar with the dynamics existing among long time members.

We shoot with questions, though, so isn't it more like "Ask questions first, ask questions later?"
Ya right... It looked to me like that self-appointed bitcoin private detective jumped all over him with, what he admits, were satirical statements and accusations of him being Atlas and seeming put-downs based on his nickname etc.. I do see some well wishes but no questions before all that about his plans and ideas, but a lot of seeming assumptions. Would it hurt to start with an explanation of why people are cautious ( if not downright fearful ) of new ventures based on past scams etc.? I wonder if some of the people here work for the dept. of homeland security. i.e. Assume all Muslims are terrorists, Assume all Hispanics ( or "beaners" as I saw one idiot refer to them elsewhere on this forum ) are illegal aliens, Assume all newbies are scammers, until proven otherwise, and if they leave then it is a confirmation of the fears and a justification for the shabby and disrespectful behavior. "Feel proud of yourselves boys! Another win for the good guys!" ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

This is such a welcoming community. I don't know why more new people aren't wanting to jump on the bitcoin bandwagon. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Ft1.gstatic.com%2Fimages%3Fq%3Dtbn%3AANd9GcSJw_uPp__btTLfXc-WA_obeI4Y5ISArsKJNsn-54m16NS71B7g4YPEm6BL&t=663&c=nM0qiNCeSYsg4w)

3. It takes forever to download it, which puts off new users.
The first monthly "State of Bitcoin" summary coming from project developer Gavin Andresen ( 13 Oct 15:32 ) http://bit.ly/plkp7Dexcerpt: • Network stability and wallet security are still my top concerns; start-up experience for new users (the long wait to download the block chain) is next on my list.

I don't agree with schools teaching evolution as fact, when it is only theory. The evolution theory is based on assumptions which can't be proven.
![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) 'Theory', 'hypothesis' are used in non-technical contexts to mean an untested idea or opinion. A theory in technical use is a more or less verified or established explanation accounting for known facts or phenomena. e.g. the theory of evolution. A hypothesis is a conjecture put forth as a possible explanation of phenomena or relations, which serves as a basis of argument or experimentation to reach the truth. e.g. "This idea is only a hypothesis".

Last days were very hard for me and I was doing my best to recover pool to normal operation as fast as possible. During those very long nights I had many thoughs if this is the end of the pool; people will leave it because it isn't working realiably soo long. Now I see hashrate is slowly rising back to normal, which is the best satisfaction for all my work. Thank you a lot for your support!
Everything seems to be working good for me now. Thanks for the work you have put in to bring us through the storm. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Will wait patiently to see what NMC will come my way from this merged mining thing...

The theories and ideas which are in the curriculum have already won on competitive merit in the scientific peer-review process.

Please restart your miners; DNS changed again and some miners don't resolve them once again during operation.
Tried shutting down and then restarting guiminer... tried rebooting the computer... still getting "Problems communicating with bitcoin RPC"

He will see through the plot you poor patsy. Bitcoin is a part of the alien agenda to take over the world disguised as a tool to help lead towards our freedom.
You alien lizard people are making a big mistake trying to pull one over on the wise and powerful Alex Jones. You will only kill Bicoin and it will ultimately lead to your doom, and Alex Jones will be celebrated as our savior.

I was gonna try you out for merged mining but all the 'instructions' links on your front page are broken so I went with another pool. You may want to fix your home page.

Yeah, Canada doesn't have a single national healthcare plan. They have 13 different systems based on broad national requirements administered by each individual territory/province. Their system isn't perfect, but I would say it works somewhat better than the current US system, at least in the area of controlling the kind of out-of-control price inflation we're seeing in the US.
Also, emergency room wait times suck in America as well, and people dying during the wait isn't completely unheard of.
+1 And in Canada one generally doesn't have to fear losing their entire life savings when they get sick. ( edit/ also think of car insurance. Everyone complains about having to pay it, but how many would wish they didn't have it when they get into an accident they are responsible for? ) And also just because something is not managed properly is not prove against the concept. And I would dare suggest that most people in this Country approve of a system of socialized ( for lack of a better term ) healthcare and tend to vote 'provincially' for leaders that say they will protect it... it is not something forced on us... it's called democracy. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Session_Restore"If neither your old session nor the Restore Session error page appears after a crash, or you accidentally click on “Start New Session”, you can enter about:sessionrestore in the Location Bar (address bar) to force the Restore Session page to appear, after first restoring a backup file to restore the old session data. The session data is stored in sessionstore.js; this file can be restored (while Firefox is not running) from backups, including "sessionstore.bak". The file "sessionstore.bak" is created if you launch Firefox after a crash has occurred. It is a copy of the current sessionstore.js that gets lost otherwise, if you restart Firefox."
