4841  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: July 01, 2020, 12:45:42 PM
Bad news came from New Orleans Pelicans whose three players were positively infected with COVID19. But unfortunately David Griffin
is vice president the New Orleans Pelicans team declined to name three of their players with COVID19. But David Griffin confirmed
the three players quarantined. Whereas last week the NBA announced 16 players tested positive for COVID19, out of the 22 teams that
will be performing at Walt Disney World Orlando. Hopefully this virus does not spread again, because if it spreads more and more fear
there will be another game delay. The New Orleans Pelicans will have their first match on July 30 against Utah Jazz, hopefully their
schedules will not change and all three players positive COVID19 can recover soon.

I think they should be transparent, as a fan we are also concern so it's nice if the NBA would make it transparent for everyone.
Now that the Pelicans are aiming for a playoff spot, they might struggle if one of the infected are part of the starting line up, I'm hoping now especially ZION.

since you haven't add the link of the news, let me add it,
http://www.nba.com/article/2020/06/30/new-orleans-pelicans-three-players-test-positive-david-griffin

I agree with you, if other teams make it public, why can't they.
I mean, what's the reason of keeping that information private when NBA is a public entertainment that everyone are interested to know.

With this news, would that hugely affect their chances now?
Need some thoughts here as there are odds available now from sportsbook shared in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5091185.msg54712043#msg54712043
4842  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Odds comparison on: July 01, 2020, 12:14:04 PM
I have used it before but according to my experience the alerts were a bit slow or inaccurate. If I went to the websites myself they would show different ranges (slightly but that is normal) for the games coming soon. It works best for games that are over 24 hours away, but then, not every book shows the odds so quick.

Missing quite a few sportsbooks there:)

If that's the case, then it would not be so useful for betters who like to get a timely odds comparison.
Personally, I never tried using the site shared by OP, I use other sites but not consistent since I'm not really a gambler who are doing it for business or as profession.
4843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BPlay Gaming site Platform [Binance Collaboration] on: July 01, 2020, 11:56:09 AM
Nice move again by Binance, this partnership would also make a gambling site popular as they are gain their reputation by partnering with Binance.
It's easy to gamble when you can link your binance account to a gambling site as anytime you can withdraw and deposit, I'm expecting more partnerships will come soon but I'm not expecting Binance would venture into a gambling business.

4845  Economy / Economics / Re: Lives vs Economy -- sad truth on: June 30, 2020, 09:52:18 PM
They want to but they can't save everyone, that is the reality because we haven't prepared for this pandemic.

Some country did exceptionally well in the pandemic like China and Singapore

yes, because they are first world country in Asia, they have good facilities and good government, but other countries are not facing the pandemic effectively.

now the government are more focus on the health matters

Some country has already start their economy back otherwise they wont survive this pandemic any much longer. Few months after most country declared their first case of the virus, lot of those country invest heavily into improving their healthcare system but now it would be different. They need to restart everything at the cost of lives otherwise alot more lives will be at stake

Economy is very important, same us lives of course but it's not always possible to protect both, there are some who would suffer along the way as that's how dangerous this virus is, but it should not stop us or the economy. If in big countries like in the US and UE can't control it, let us expect even worst in small countries if people will not cooperate with the government.
4846  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to $150K and Ether to $9K on: June 30, 2020, 08:48:31 PM
I can not imagine it happening next year, if the price of Bitcoin to $ 150k maybe Altcoin really has a price of 1000% from now,
I can not wait  Grin for this come  Grin

It is good to dream and think positively that the price will rise to 150k in next, but what are the factors that will lead to this price rise. Frankly in coming next few years not seeing it rising so much but even if it crosses the first huddle of all time high till next year will be the good thing for now. Even if btc crosses 50k in near term will be the big thing for many people.

Yea, it's nice to have big dreams! We have seen even crazier predictions for btc, but until now I didn't see so optimistic prediction for eth. $50k is a reasonable prediction for btc, and that can happen next year, but about eth I am not sure we will see more than 2k, in case bitcoin rise over $50k. But all that are just predictions, and many of us are optimistic about the future of these two coins. Reality is something else, in my years here bitcoin surprised us many times, and in that I am sure, we will be surprised many more times, but that goes both ways, it can be a good and it can be a bad surprise. I was on both sides many times, and I am open for new surprises!

No one would hope for a bad surprise if we are optimistic with its future, but it's the nature of bitcoin, very unpredictable and volatile in a short period of time. If bitcoin hit that high, that might take a lot of time, but it doesn't matter as success should not be easy, slowly but surely, I think that's what we want to see as it would strengthen the foundation of crypto, not the other way around which is the pump and dump.

Lastly, I believe that nothing is impossible in crypto, even beyond our imagination, it could happen in a certain time or any time.
4847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never Before Experience On Gambling...!!!! Stay Safe. on: June 30, 2020, 08:29:40 PM
i'm so agreed on the the second point... if you're in bad mood, don't you ever start gambling

It is also important to exit the game if your mood has changed to negative.
It often happens that when you sit down to play games you have wonderful feelings of anticipation and excitement, but after 10 minutes you are depressed and upset because of a series of completely unfair, in your opinion, losses.

It is at this moment that it is most difficult to exit the game, while this is the best decision that can be made in this situation.
But if you manage and can exit the game when you should, you will earn much more money and pleasure on this than you could.

Sometimes we can't prevent to feel that way, we are just human and we have emotions, it could be brought by different factors in our personal life but discipline is very important, we gamble for the main purpose of winning, therefore if we are not fully focus, there's always a reason to quit, but like I said, we need to be discipline, without that we won't be able to quit easily.
4848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: List of Gambling Platforms with Issues. on: June 29, 2020, 10:26:51 PM
I think this is a good list overall. However in order to not fall victim of these type of scams we have the Gambling section here and I always turn back to that section to check what is going on in different casinos and in particular I check what is going on in the one I maybe tempted to register and open an account. When I check I make sure that all scam accusations are addresses if there are any in the first place and the public feedback is 100% positive for that specific casino.

Swogerino I agree that's good to have lists like this one, many casinos have issues, but I must say that in Gambling section
we have casinos with their ann threads, and casinos that have their signature campaigns. I gamble just on sites from this forum
and I know I am a small time gambler with very low amounts, but I never had any kind of issue with any casino from this forum.

Same here, I only gamble on casinos that has an ANN thread here since I believe it's easy to call their attention here if they are messing with us.
The fact that they make an ANN thread here, that means they are interested to get some exposure in the forum, therefore as they are building their reputation here, they need to protect it, so they'll not messed around, thus far too, I have not scam yet.
4849  Economy / Economics / Re: Lives vs Economy -- sad truth on: June 29, 2020, 10:00:01 PM
Why don't they care about hospitals to save the lives of everyone?
They want to but they can't save everyone, that is the reality because we haven't prepared for this pandemic.

countries are more interested in building restaurants, luxury and entertainment than education and health.
countries have spent millions to host events from football, the end of games and entertainment, but they have spent little on health and treatment.
Age does not matter, it is this humanity that makes an individual's life precious whatever his age.
That was before the pandemic, but now the government are more focus on the health matters and big portion of its budget are going into this war, if only we see this coming, we have prepared for this, although Bill Gates said in one of his interview that virus like this will come but our government did not see it as its a serious threat, so hopefully we will learn from this.
4850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 29, 2020, 02:36:41 PM

PG13 is no doubt on a star level as well, but I also don't understand myself, when he got injured and though had recovered fully now, my confident on him was never the same anymore.
I think he even improved on his shooting ability special on the 2018 - 2019th season of the NBA as per stat.

It's not about the improvement, I just thought anytime he can be injured again as for me he is already fragile, sorry to say this, it's just my opinion.
Same with DRose, I'm afraid that when PG will be injured again, he would struggle to claim his status again.

Good thing now that he has learn to be more accurate shooting outside, that would take him away from driving into the basket and he just need to be more careful now as if 2nd injury will happen, he might not be able to recover well. Sorry again,...

Maybe one of the reasons why PG13 and Westbrook did not worth with the OKC is because while PG13 has improve his shooting, Westrbook also struggle with his shooting that very season.
4851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 29, 2020, 01:47:11 PM
Next to Lebron might be PG13.
PG13 is no doubt on a star level as well, but I also don't understand myself, when he got injured and though had recovered fully now, my confident on him was never the same anymore.

I don't really like the Harden and Westbrook style. I don't know why.
Maybe because of bad entertainment just like I said.

I like Westbrook over harden as he can bring some energy in the floor for his teammates, pair him with a superstar like Lebron, the team might become a championship contender.

I also like to add, my favorite is DROSE, though I miss the old DROSE but I'm still a fan.
4852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PAGCOR waiting for the approval to reopen land-based casinos. on: June 24, 2020, 11:46:02 PM
Fortunately for me, I have all membership cards in the big three (RW, COD, Solaire), however, I'm not interested to gamble because of health risk.

See. Here is one example that even people do have resources or any forms of access, they will not just go to the casino once it opened.

Surely, this mindset is also on other people as well.

That's why casinos are doing a dry run to have an insight on what should they expect once they adopt the new normal system.

I'm in favor of the casino opening. If only others see the situation in the Metro, especially those who hardly hit by the lockdown, they will able to understand how difficult for IATF to approve something.

Don't get me wrong though, I still supports PAGCOR plan on re-opening soon to really test how casino are going to do in this pandemic, however, I don't want to be another statistics,  Smiley

I would rather see the curve flatten first. And agree that I'm not the only one that has this mindset, and besides, I play in land based casino to get the lively atmosphere, but in this new norm, casino's will be quiet as hell, I don't know if there will be entertainment as well, like the live bands, so I will really skip and play online.

They might still have the same kind of entertainment but just like what you think, people are also thinking of the safety so the number of goers in a land based casino will significantly reduce compared to the past when everything was still normal.

I think if they reopens, this is not called a dry run, even if there are cases of infection from the casino or within the casino, the business will continue to run as the government can't afford it to stop.
4853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos are open - end of the Pandemic era. on: June 24, 2020, 11:16:09 PM
Let's cut the discussion about the girl wearing mask, the mystery was in here face, we will never know what she looks like because of that mask on.
Anyway, I'm convince with the reply above that casinos are more protective to their employees than their visitors, that's a good protocol and a way to continue the operation while ensuring their employees are free from infection, especially the girls.
4854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PAGCOR waiting for the approval to reopen land-based casinos. on: June 24, 2020, 10:28:48 AM
My point is, as long as there are careless players then no casino will operate that long and reclose once again. Same thing applied in every field or industry.

Then this should be applied to other industries, like Salon, Grocery stores and etc. , if that's your point, then there's no reason the aforementioned business will also operate. Careless individual are everywhere, not only in casino, there are also careless people in church, and why the government allowed it to open?
4855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos are open - end of the Pandemic era. on: June 24, 2020, 09:54:38 AM
As of June 26, the Washintong will require the use of face mask in public spaces. IMO, this is a measure that should have been taken from the beginning in the USA.

https://coronavirus.wa.gov/information-for/you-and-your-family/face-masks-or-cloth-face-covering

I hope it is a requirement throughout the USA because the incidence of new cases in this nation is still growing. If you observe in Las Vegas only the personnel of the Casinos wear masks. Take a look at Golden Gate Hotel & Casino in this article, there is a video of the protocols they are using.

https://www.latimes.com/espanol/vida-y-estilo/articulo/2020-06-12/la-extrana-reapertura-de-las-vegas-atrae-multitudes-algunas-enmascaradas-otras-no

For example, in my country, Venezuela, we wear face masks when we leave the house, in supermarkets the staff puts antibacterial gel on our hands and the banks also take our temperature. The use of the facial mask is a norm to enter a commercial establishment.

Which is wrong, it's weird.. that woman should not be wearing mask, how can we see here face. lol.. (picture was taken from the article shared).

Maybe they are trying to protect their employees so the casino are 100% covid-19 free but we don't know about their customers or clients.
4856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PAGCOR waiting for the approval to reopen land-based casinos. on: June 24, 2020, 08:10:32 AM
My regulation would be to ensure no business can reopen (before vaccine) after failing to distance their customers, thats their one chance gone and also any inspection that shows poor management would also mean closure on public health grounds.   If the rules are implemented in that way, the business should be self regulating and fearing the effects of outbreaks to their revenue.

That's the kind of strict measures that needs to be implemented, if they will not comply, they will be closed and they won't be re open again until the vaccine is release, I think that way casinos will be more vigilant and they will ensure to implement the guidelines effectively.
4857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 23, 2020, 11:55:17 PM
So, for Denver and Dallas to be at west finals you have to eliminate Lakers, eliminate clipplers, eliminate Utah and eliminate Rockets. You are expecting awfully a lot from one team that never been to playoffs together and another that is basically 2-3 years in playoff adventure versus teams with multiple championship fmvp players.

That's it, but no one sees the future, based on the betting odds we can clearly see how tiny the chance of these two teams to be an NBA champion or to be playing in the West Finals at least, it's always known to us as the odds are their, but it doesn't mean it's impossible and though you call this as a dream, still I'd like to see it happening.

WHO KNOWS MY FRIEND> Grin

Nothing is impossible in NBA. If we're talking about teams who has a very tiny chances to play in the NBA finals, remember that one major injury could change the outcome. Look at what happened to the GSW the last time they played the Raptors? They lost Durant and Klay due to a devastating and career threatening injury.
That guy above got some point, but the possibility for the young Mavs are always there.

God forbid that injury, it's not fun to watch games when some players are injured, as much as possible we would like to see teams that are intact so they can give their best to compete for the championship. Mavericks are a young team, but they always have a chance. I understand that we might be bias so let's just consider our opinion as bias opinion.

Way back in 2011, it happened that the number 1 seed was eliminated by the number 8 seed team, this would tell us that nothing is impossible.

Memphis Grizzlies eliminate No. 1-seeded San Antonio Spurs | NBA playoffs

Maybe that time people are thinking that Memphis has no chance since Spurs are a pretty good team that time, but it happened.

Good point, but we are talking of championship here, how about we use some statistics.

According to https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/2ws9po/nba_finals_winners_by_seed/

It was posted 5 years ago but it might give us a picture on the chances.. so Dallas Mavericks is currently at number 7 (https://www.nba.com/standings) therefore its chance is 0%, can the mavericks break this trend?

It might be soon, but for now the number of infected are still increasing here in the Philippines. I know Philippine government still working on that. Hoping for there best  response if they allow to reopen the gambling industry or they have to remain it close for the safety of there people.
It was already decided that the opening of casinos will happen. Many countries have already opened back their economies as they're about to see the drought which will affect their countries heavily. Some sporting events were already about to open soon.
There's basis why they'll be doing this and let's just hope that most of these establishments that will comeback will adopt the new norm. And they won't be the reason for the addition of infected.
If the government will approve it, they also will ensure that they are monitoring the casinos properly. I think those who are under the strict monitoring of the government will be more safer, so if this would cause an addition to confirm cases, I believe they will not be the major contributor of it.
4860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another bitcoin scams hit Canada on: June 23, 2020, 10:30:08 AM
We must understand that scam has been with human and this will not end. Scammers always take an opportunity to operate, they new investors and traders including holders will one time or the other make use of the machine and if they see such will think it legit investment platform. Really appreciate those in authority who stood against such act in a country like Canada. Learning about some of these scam tactics will help secure our holdings and not fall guilty to scam, we should investigate every source before making any investment with them.

You are right, scams will stay and scammers will always find a way to scam people.

Maybe the government will learn and see that the crypto market is getting bigger already, and the only way to protect people from crypto is by regulating the market, that way, the market will gain confidence from investors and the government has a big role of making a drive in educating people about crypto.

Those who fall from scams are those who aren't aware that bitcoin are also used in scamming, if the market is regulated, it would be easier for them to check from the authorities and verify if such investment is legit or not.

This is never ending business since as long as there are money ready to be risk for sure many scammers will find an innovative ways to catch it, that's why sometimes I think it's better to teach this lesson on schools so that the new grown up will be aware about scams so that they will not fall on that schemes. This scamming incident is so alarming and government should impose a strict penalty to warn those scammers to continue this act.

There's always a penalty for every crime committed, but would we rather like to see the preventive measures than the penalty?
For me, I think they (government) need to focus on the preventive measures so the scammers would fail.
