I do not know for whom it can be fun to lose money... For me it can be a nervous laugh when my bet does not win! Cheesy
Maybe he meant that for him the fun is to bet on his favorite team and watch the match despite the fact that it can lose?
Only wins can make you feel good if you gamble online. But it will be different from those who go to a physical casino because the atmosphere is much different. Hang out with friends, laugh and that's the reason why sometimes gambling at a physical casino is so much more fun. However, you can still have fun with sports betting, but only if you watch it with friend. Right, mate ?

Winning definitely feels good, but we shouldn't try to be so heavily invested in our gambling. Only if winning doesn't really affect us anymore we can say that losing is not going to affect us either. In the end this would just be a dream state if mind, for me I am still invested in my bets. And if I lose I need to take a break to clear my mind again.
4843  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump ≈ Biden: They fundamentally agree on *all* of the important issues! on: November 20, 2020, 11:09:44 AM
There might be a large number of similarities between these two guys but we shouldn't forget that one is a republican and the other one a democrats. For example climate change is big issue for Democrats. It is very likely that Biden is joining again the Paris agreement. A second big difference between the two is about trade in my opinion. Biden and the Democrats are not as protective as Trump. For example the free trade agreement with the EU was no priority for Trump. But Biden is likely to push that topic again. Obama before him was heavily invested in TTIP agreement. I would bet Biden is going to pick up the pieces and renew the talks.
4844  Economy / Economics / Re: Mexico's billionaire invests in Bitcoin on: November 20, 2020, 11:03:19 AM
If I was a billionaire I would be buying a lot of Bitcoin's myself. To be honest already with a few millions I would buy as many different assets as possible. Having a well diversified portfolio is key in my opinion to protect your wealth. Crypto currencies and bitcoins in particular should be part of any portfolio. But becoming a billionaire durst would be the issue.
4845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Probability on: November 20, 2020, 10:51:14 AM
That's great, but what's the point of sharing this info.Do you want to teach us how to play poker? Grin
Did you copy pasted this info from somewhere? Can you mention the source?
I'm not interested in math and I don't care about the probability of getting a particular hand, when I play poker."Psychological" elements like having patience, persistence, and the ability to decide when to play aggressively and when to quit and the the ability to bluff are more interesting to me.

There are many courses online to learn how to play poker. There are plenty of different poker variants out there and you also need to decide if you want to go into tournaments or prefer cash games. Watching a few tutorials online from YouTube can definitely help to make up your mind. But in my opinion to really learn a game you will need to put in the hours and actually play. Maybe try with play money first.

I think you are in the wrong forum here. We like to talk about crypto currencies here, not your sexual fantasies.

It turns out OP is a HEX shill, so the two subjects intermingle quite a bit. As a matter of fact the whole thing makes sense now.

I agree that this might be the wrong forum here but cytpo Users are on general very open minded people. There are so many different type of people these days who identify in all types of sexes. In my opinion we should just let everyone live his life in peace. No reason to judge someone.
4847  Other / Politics & Society / Re: america could turn to a dictatorship for decades thanks to braindead democrats on: November 20, 2020, 10:32:08 AM
with their voter fraud, the democrats are basically gifting the united states to trump as a king to own it as a dictator like putin for decades.

trumps base simply can refuse elections and point out the untrustworthyness of the democrats.

american democracy and democrats are done

The majority of people voted for Biden, I don't think they will just remain silent if America would transform into a dictatorship. Silencing a minority might work for some time, but not the majority of people. It's still 2 months until the change of power in January. We should all be more optimistic and hope for a peaceful transfer of power.
4848  Economy / Economics / Re: Still confused why bitcoin is so bullish? on: November 20, 2020, 10:28:50 AM
One way or another, the pandemic forced humanity to reconsider many aspects of its life, including the attitude to their savings and the value of all common assets. In addition, completely new demands from people are arising from the government, and in this regard, the leaders of the countries will have to make appropriate decisions. Based on this, alternative assets, which are cryptocurrencies, are more valuable than national currencies. It is thanks to the pandemic and the economic crisis that Bitcoin is gaining attention again and thanks to this its value increases.
That’s right, everything that happened this year changed our mind and the way we do things, and it certainly brought people’s attention to digital money (cryptocurrency). Plus, the fact that Bitcoin was still fast to recover after the pandemic hits the stock market.

With its high level of growth, companies started to jump on it, and were buying Bitcoin as of their reserve assets and that helped in creating a boost for the price that was already heading all the way up. We have seen so many news, Grayscale invested in Bitcoin twice, and PayPal also introduced it to their customers.

People work a lot from home these days. The usual work day changed completely. We are less social and spend more time on the Internet. Looking at ways to make money online is just byproduct of the currency corona pandemic. I think its just right that people start to believe more on crypto currency. Everyone can use them from home and they are much cheaper compared to traditional banks.
4849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Player protection - stop loss limit on: November 20, 2020, 09:35:10 AM
Hi guys, as you know some casino/bookmakers offer "player protection" giving ability to set up a stop loss limits.
What happens if a player lose more of this limit and continue to gamble despite any "protection"?

What I saw in the latest updates on casino and poker software over the last 2 month, was panic buttons being installed. Now you have the chance to sign out of the software and lock ourself out for 24hrs just by pressing one button. I tried it myself the first time I saw these buttons and was quite surpised that I didn't even get a notification that asked me if I really want to sign out, it was instantly that I got locked out. As for these gambler protection I would assume it is a similar mechanism, once you hit your predetermined loss treshold you will instantly get locked out. I think these limits are great way to protect ourself from losing everything.
4850  Economy / Economics / Re: Ray Dalio Admits He May Be Wrong About Bitcoin" on: November 20, 2020, 08:57:05 AM
Ray Dalio is an exceptional investor. He has been successful for so many years. I love his books and try to follow is investment recommendations when ever possible. But even the best investors can't be 100% right of the time. In my opinion what makes the difference between a good and a great investor is the ability to adapt to new information. Maybe bitcoins didn't make sense to him when they were created, but he reviewed his position and changed his opinion. Overall great guy.
4851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Free betting tips by Janinjo on: November 19, 2020, 07:07:29 PM
Maybe you should consider collecting your data in a table/google sheets so people who visit this thread can see your performance before they decide to follow you. Nobody wants to follow a fail tipster as you would agree.

This would be pretty cool. If you want to give away betting tips more regularly I would recommend keep updating this post here. A table to consolidate your bets would definitely be nice. And after being right a few times right you should get a lot of followers here on the forum. A good track record is the most important thing on the forum.
4852  Economy / Economics / Re: Look like covid is over Once we take loans on: November 19, 2020, 06:45:33 PM
Conspiracy theories again and again, despite he fact that millions die everyday because of this stupid virus. But go ahead, exercise your patriotism, don't wear a mask, and become part of the casualties.

COVID-19 is bigger than the vaccines our government's been waiting for. New Zealand for exame had eradicated their cases and is already running stable even without the aid of a vaccine. That is what you call GOOD GOVERNANCE. So next time make sure you vote for someone who understands Science.
I have always thought that the top of a country is a representation of what the people is about and it is obvious that if there are presidents out there that believe that this is some kind of conspiracy or that the virus doesn't even exist that is a reflection of their population at large.

The coronavirus crisis that we are going through without a doubt has become a great challenge for people and governments alike however it could have been contained way more easily if people made the conscious decision of trying their best to not spread the virus even if they did not know if they had it, this is why we have countries in which they have not been that affected by the virus and we have other countries that have been severally affected by it and the only explanation that we can give for this to happen is the different attitude that people had when facing the virus.

I agree with you, we all could have managed to contain the corona virus much better. With a one time lock down of 4 weeks, with almost not social contact and following all the social distancing rules and safety measures. We should have stopped the spread of the virus. It's on all of us who didn't follow the rules. For example, in my country was one girl going out to party during the pandemic lockdown and making out with a lot of different guys over one weekend. Of course she tested positive in the end and spread the virus to a lot of different guys. If we would have contained these super spreaders we would have been much better off.
4853  Other / Archival / Re: CitiBank & Report about Bitcoin: 21st Century Gold on: November 19, 2020, 09:04:57 AM

In his opinion, the FED's policy and the aggravation of the situation with COVID-19 have created a similar market environment, which will push the quotes of the first cryptocurrency to $ 318,000 by December 2021.

Damn that are pretty nice news. I think chart analysis can give a good indication for future price levels. We have already seen a good run of bitcoins in the last few weeks, making almost 70%. If such a trend continues through out 2021 I think prices of above $100,000 could be very likely. Citibank is a leading international bank with a lot of followers on their predictions.
4854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers lose more money than win. on: November 19, 2020, 08:54:16 AM
Not all gamblers faced the situation like loosing all the time. If you are clearly deal the gambling on betting and ideal games, you may win more than loosing funds. Sometimes you may get attracted slot roll or lucky spin kind of games, mostly these games users are finding loss more than other way gamblers.

I agree with you that gamblers who lose a lot of times usually play a various of different games. It would be better to try and find a few games where you are really good at and try to focus on them. For example, the biggest losers who were great poker players. Didn't actually lose their money playing poker but in other games. So straight after a big tournament win they sit down on the Roulette, Baccarat or BlackJack table.
4855  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The european union moves closer to an encryption ban on: November 19, 2020, 08:39:58 AM
if the ban truly enforced, what stops criminals switching from whatsapp to another less popular end-to-end encryption messaging app that's under the radar. Criminals will definitely take extra effort to find the replacement for whatsapp but ordinary, normal and law obeying users gonna have a hard time because they just have no privacy anymore. It just doesn't make sense. Even nowadays criminal already be able making their own messaging app since the source code already floating around every corner of github as of now. It's just the most inneffective way of dealing with the criminal.

Fighting criminals who use encryption as a tool to launder money might be the main reason why the EU moves towards an encryption ban. There should be more pressure on the big messaging apps like whatsapp to prevent people from exploiting it. It's a great communication tool to connect people from various countries which is the common setup of criminals these days. The live in one country, and travel to another one to do their crimes.
4856  Other / Off-topic / Re: Buying a Dog on: November 19, 2020, 08:25:56 AM
Siberian Husky is my favorite dog, by far!

I like Huskys too, they are great dogs. my parents had one when I was growing up. But it depends on where you live in my opinion on which dogs to get. If you live close to a nice park of forest, a husky can work. But if you live in the city center in an small apartment a Husky would be very miserable. They need to run and enjoy the outdoors.
4857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum going to Die? on: November 19, 2020, 08:19:56 AM
With a large market cap value and also being very actively traded on various exchangers, I think ethereum will still remain in the cryptocurrency market for a long time. Maybe this time a lot of new coins are emerging but I think ethereum will still be the king of altcoins for a long time

I have similar thoughts about ETH, there are so many investors in the coin. The market is fairly big compared to other coins, so in my opinion there is no chance that ETH is just going to die. With the bitcoin price so high at the moment, there will probably investors looking for other coins again. I would not sell my ETH at the moment.
4858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Probability on: November 18, 2020, 08:56:34 AM
Poker by far is my favorite when it comes to gambling, it is a good mixture of skill with the ability to bluff other players to the point that you can win a zilch even though he got a better hand, and luck by the probability of getting the better hand than your opponents. In this post, I will focus on the probability of getting a higher hand. The table below only presents 5-card hand poker game. If you are curious as to what is the math behind poker, hopefully this post will satisfy you.

Hand Distinct Hands Frequency Probability Cumulative Probability Odd Against
Royal Flush140.000154%0.000154%649,739:1

No Pair/High Card1,2771,302,54050.1177%100%0.995:1

Additional Notes
Cumulative probability refers to the probability of drawing a hand as good as or better than the specified one. For example, the probability of drawing three of a kind is approximately 2.11%, while the probability of drawing a hand at least as good as three of a kind is about 2.87%. The cumulative probability is determined by adding one hand's probability with the probabilities of all hands above it.
Odds are defined as the ratio of the number of ways not to draw the hand, to the number of ways to draw it. In statistics, this is called odds against. For instance, with a royal flush, there are 4 ways to draw one, and 2,598,956 ways to draw something else, so the odds against drawing a royal flush are 2,598,956 : 4, or 649,739 : 1. The formula for establishing the odds can also be stated as (1/p) - 1 : 1, where p is the aforementioned probability.
Straight Flush is different from Royal Flush which is comprised of 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace while the former is comprised of the other card numbers.
Flush is different from Straight Flush and Royal Flush where Straight Flush and Royal Flush has a condition that there is a order of cards of the same suit whereas Flush just needs to have the same suit.
Straight is different from Straight Flush and Royal Flush where both has the condition of Same suit and order for both hands, Straight on the other hand just needs to be in order even if not the same suit.

Great summary of the chances to good poker hands. I played poker for a long time and never got a royal flush, I have seen a few and managed to get a few straight flushes over the years myself. 4 of a kind is the best in my opinion. If there are 3 times the same card on the board no one really thinks of a 4 of kind. Most people would expect someone to have a full house. These are the setups where you can earn a fortune in cash games. To make money when playing poker you want your opponent to have a good hand so he calls you down and then of course you need to have the better hand.
4859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling could be used to pay for covid problems on: November 18, 2020, 08:49:30 AM
Online gambling can help the government solve the epidemic problem if everything is closed due to the epidemic gambling is going on then the government can help the government to solve the problem of corona virus if we get tax from gambling here. This will enable the country's economy to improve very quickly from the government's point of view the government can quickly attract tourists through legal and regulated casinos more tourists means more foreign exchange earnings the government can earn money directly from casinos and by taxing money won in gambling. Successfully run casinos through the legal process can directly and indirectly increase employment in a country if there is more investment in gambling the government's income will also increase..

In my opinion the revenues from casinos are not sufficient to cover the corona pandemic losses. Sure we saw a rise in online gambling with more casinos being opened and more people start to ie online casinos. But what we shouldn't forget is that the physical casinos had to close down. Most of the new online gamblers likely just switched from physical to online gambling.

It would be better to ask companies who profit the most during the pandemic to pay. Just look at amazon.
4860  Other / Off-topic / Re: HandMade: expensive or cheap? on: November 18, 2020, 08:32:15 AM
It depends on what product you are going to buy. But mainly yeah, handmade is more expensive.

I agree with you. Craftmanship done by hand should be more expensive than industrial mass produced products. First of all the quality is usually completely different, secondly the time invested in the product is usually much higher for handmade productions. Then on top of that the expertise needed to do the things yourself are important too. If we would all just buy things from the big companies than all the small business would disappear. Personally I try to buy quality and not quantity.
