My advice (other than already mentioned above), if you want to make a long thread or post, always copy the draft and paste it onto notepad.
In fact you don't have to copy-paste it into notepad. Just click "Preview" whenever needed and your text will be saved on forum servers for the next seven days.
If your text gets deleted while typing for one reason or another, just click the draft link and you will see your last saved drafts.

You can save up to 100 drafts.
4862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for Sr. members+ to participate in marketing research (80 USDT reward) on: December 27, 2019, 03:22:50 PM
I confirm that I received 80$ worth of Revain tokens as agreed. Thank you RevainSupport.
In fact it was a great opportunity for me as I learned more about the Revain project/platform which any crypto enthusiast needs.
I still have some questions regarding your project but I think it's better to discuss them on the announcement thread  Smiley
4863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time for YouTube to vanish ... on: December 26, 2019, 11:50:34 PM
Even if all the crypto community boycott YouTube, I highly doubt it would affect them or slow their business.
There are other great alternatives out there such as Twitch, Vimeo, dailymotion. But honestly, none of them can be compared to YouTube.

I find the reason for removing crypto related videos/adds not convincing though.
4864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please Help! (Bitcoin transaction) on: December 26, 2019, 11:04:51 PM
Do you have the private key or the seed for the BTC address? Is it a legacy address? If yes then it will be easy to recover your BCH.
Just import the btc address private key in your BCH wallet.
If you sent to a SegWit address then the recovery process may be more complicated.

If you sent your coins to an exchange or another platform where you don't have access to your private keys then you should contact their customer support and explain to them what happened.
4865  Other / Meta / Re: who is the founder of bitcointalk? on: December 26, 2019, 09:50:01 PM
I think he's trying to report that scam.
If I understood him well, then this is an extortion attempt not just a scam.
It would be better if he moves the topic to reputation section.
@OP, all you can do is to ask DT members to tag him.

By the way, theymos is the global admin and the one in charge here.
4866  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to send bitcoins to such address in message ? on: December 25, 2019, 03:36:25 PM
What wallet app are you using?
For example if you are using Electrum, just paste the URI in the "Pay to" field and all other fields will be filled automatically.

but I need a proof that this payment belongs to my user account !!

The website will generate a unique address for each user. However, I believe "327130" is your User ID on "www.xxxxxxxxx.website".
Check it out and if it is indeed your uid then "31jT3vtzwkrRksSixxxxxbCrw15QZYwNZg" is your deposit address.

I suppose you edited the address befor posting it here for privacy reasons because it is an invalid address (do not send to it).
4867  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: your own btc node. on: December 25, 2019, 03:02:41 PM
Here are the minimum requirements to run your own full node (as stated on bitcoin.org):
  • Desktop or laptop hardware running recent versions of Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux.
  • 200 gigabytes of free disk space, accessible at a minimum read/write speed of 100 MB/s.
  • 2 gigabytes of memory (RAM)
  • A broadband Internet connection with upload speeds of at least 400 kilobits (50 kilobytes) per second
  • An unmetered connection, a connection with high upload limits, or a connection you regularly monitor to ensure it doesn’t exceed its upload limits.
  • 6 hours a day that your full node can be left running.

It's a little bit outdated though.

Right now, blockchain size is almost 260Gb (exactly 255.000Mb according to blockchain.com). Therefore, you will need more than 200 gigabytes of free disk space as suggested above.
4868  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What kind of crypto trading do you recommend with $50 investment? on: December 24, 2019, 10:30:49 PM
Even with day trading, making small profit is not guaranteed.

Suppose BTC price is $7000. I buy $50 worth of bitcoin = 0.007 BTC
Then some hours later, it rises to $7500. Then I sell my BTC to earn USD = $52.5
But this is not always the case.
Cryptocurrencies are so volatile that it is very hard to determin the entry/exit points even for experienced traders.
What if you buy bitcoin at 7000$ but the price keeps dropping! You must have an alternative strategy to recover your losses.
4869  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | The Honest Online Casino | Daily Presents + $5000 Christmas Raffle on: December 24, 2019, 05:05:23 PM
I got the email from "Roobet"

The email give me information about instant deposit bitcoin, did this feature will be no confirmation for the transaction of bitcoin.
I didn't receive any email from them. Maybe because I didn't make any deposit yet!
However, when you click on deposit you will see that 1 confirmation is still required:

Quote
You can get a problem if someone using "double spend" the transaction.
Not really, all they have to do is to disable withdrawals untill the deposit transaction has enough confirmations.

Can you explain honest how? Is your casino fully decentralized?
It doens't have to be decentralized to be honest.
4870  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How best to secure your Private Keys and/or Seed phrase on: December 24, 2019, 04:41:26 PM
...
Use a hard drive...
Personally, I wouldn't rely on hard drives to store my private keys/seeds for long time (more than two or three years).
Some hard drives have a short lifespan (depending on the manufacturer).
I, once, stored all my important files on hard drive and didn't use it for two years. When I tried to restore them, I discovered that most of them were corrupted. So, I wouldn't advice anyone to use this method.
4871  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help. Bitcoin sent from my wallet but not received on: December 23, 2019, 10:39:33 PM
It says it was sent with over a 1000 confirmations. But nothing was received. I can't work out what I did wrong and how I can get my money back. Many thanks. 🤓
Who said that? Did you check it yourself on any block explorer?
Anyway, as said above, bitcoin transactions are irreversible. Hence, if you don't own the private keys of the address to which the funds have been sent or don't know to whom it belongs, I doubt you will be able to get your money back.

Start by checking the transaction id on any block explorer such as blockchain.com and see if the receiving address is the same one you used to send to. If it's not, try to figure out to whom it belongs and how you ended up sending your coins to it.

but still why omni erc20?
They are different coins but they have the same concept. There are many stable coins backed by USD (at least, this is what their developers claim): Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), GUSD, PAX, DAI...
4875  Other / Meta / Re: How Do I Delete Comments In Self-Moderated Threads? on: December 17, 2019, 11:32:42 PM
None of topics you started is self-moderated.
Going to the user's profile and clicking 'delete' does not function.
I assume you are referring to this user: Increcy
you can not delete his posts directly, however, you can report them and mods will take care of it.
4876  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me understand how to read the blockchain transaction history.. on: December 17, 2019, 10:31:50 PM
I'm fascinated by the fact that we can set the fee. Suppose I set it to the minimum (or zero...?) is the transaction guarenteed to go through (with the delay)? Thanks.
Some web wallets doesn't allaw their customers to customize fees.
a transaction with zero fee will not be relayed. The minimum is 1 sat/b (1 sat/vB for segwit transactions).

Transaction confirmation time depends on how much fees you pay though. The higher the fees are, the faster your transaction get confirmed.
4877  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: NEW SCAM-Find out a mining site account information with password with 5BTC on: December 17, 2019, 08:58:13 PM
It's a well know strategy where the scammer targets other scammers/hackers or any greedy person (honeypot).
The scammer makes you think you found a vulnerability on his website that you can exploit to steal from it. But as always, you have to make a deposit first.
After you make the deposit you discover you have been the victim not the opposite.

I remember someone reported a similar scam attempt on our local board but the scammer used a different domain name.
4878  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Telegram Bitcoin Escrow Bot on: December 17, 2019, 07:46:32 PM
Why do you think that finding an escrow here is a hassle?
There are many well reputed escrows on this forum and they charge really negligible fees.

Back to your suggestion, what will make people trust such bot? Will the process be 100% automated or it will require the intervention of a third party (bot owner)?

edit (just noticed your reply): So basically, your bot will make it easier to find an escrow and get in touch with him?

Most escrows can be completely automated (created, and released without disputes), and the manager only need to intervene in case of a dispute.
it's kinda similar to how localbitcoin and other p2p trading platforms work.

4880  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is buying bitcoin using ewallets like Paypal safe? on: December 16, 2019, 11:41:59 PM
Even if he is buying and the other guy send you first the Bitcoin, he can still report your account and your account will possibly get limited
Yes, Paypal may freeze your account if they find out that you used it to buy/sell cryptocurrencies.
But why would the seller report you! His account will be banned too and he will lose 2x more than you.
