4861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: July 14, 2016, 12:49:39 AM
Just for reference

My GTX 750ti SC EVGA cards do 1.79 Mhash average (50 of these on spr at the moment) with no OC beyond factory.  These are purpose built rigs with 8gb of RAM and Celeron CPUs

3 x GTX 950 does right at 2 Mhash alongside 2 750ti in the same machine.

A GTX 970 windforce does 4.5Mhash, but this is a much faster CPU (don't know if this matters).

I have 2 5-card GTX 960 machines that are absolute MONSTERS at everything I have tried them on.  I don't remember the exact hashrate they did on spr, but I think they were about 500 watts at the wall.  They are on something else at the moment, and at a different location, so I can't verify.

I haven't measured the power draw any of my faster cards, because they are not dedicated miners.  I'll try to get the 970 numbers for reference

This is using sp mod 8 private miner, because he hasn't sent me any updates.  My email address changed after I bought it, so I can't blame him.  But I have been EXTREMELY happy with everything I have purchased from him.

ALL are rock solid, and will run for a month+ at a time.  A 6-card 750ti machine will draw 375 watts at the wall with no voltage mods.  That could probably be significantly lower, but I haven't played with it because they are dead stable on anything I have mined with them

so if i'm reading it right.... 50 x 750ti's ?
at 1.79Mh per card..thats  50x 1.79=89.5 Mh.
net hashrate is  currenty 350-380Mh
do the math...
oh wow man! you're a quarter of the net hashrate (if/when pointing at Spread)

yes, the Spread mining force is definitely with you my friend...  Cheesy

BTW, Spreadcoin is approaching 1 Million blocks in a few hours.... so we are having our own little celebration today...  Smiley

what a nice coincidence.

if I mine block# 1 million, do I win a prize? like maybe a teeshirt
that says "I Mined the one millionth block of Spreadcoin and won this teeshirt!"

I'd wear it with pride, even knowing that probably close to no one would know wtf it meant.  Wink Grin

I played around with my new desktop and it looks like it has the GPU integrated into the motherboard - it's an 8 y/o computer. I don't know if I can just strap on a new GPU after adding in a solid state drive. It doesn't look like there's anyway to connect it. I could be wrong, but I think it might be easier, albeit more expensive to get a motherboard, ram, a PSU, etc etc and just set up a my first little GPU rig. I'm sure I can get some used parts that will work just fine and keep my costs down.

Sirazimuth, how much does your power usage typically cost you to run the 2 750s?

the 750ti's are pretty efficient for the hash rate they generate.
i believe they consume around 40 watts .i get around 1400 khash rate with the default Spreadminer. (you get more if yu tweak/overclock but i dont bother these days)
I pay 10cents/kwh so doing the math its around 9.6 cents a day per card.
each card hits average 5 blocks a day (varies with luck and net hashrate but over long haul thats been my average for 1400kh)
when spread was around 10k sat back when i started 6 months ago i was doing quite well.
now at 4.2k sat...not so much .
but its all good fun.its my virtual penny jar and makes a little bell ring when i hit a block and i get a warm fuzzy, lol.
good luck and may the mining force be with you Smiley

Oh, thanks! So, I can expect about 50 SPR per day w/ two cards - I need to figure out how much I spend on electricity - I just wanted a ball park idea. The main reason I want to get a mining rig going is because I want to be able to vote for the SN reward when they come out. I can start small to learn the process and go from there. The extra few SPR won't hurt either.

The real question now I guess, is how do I set up the nice dinging noise? lol. Maybe I can make my computer relay "You've got Spreadcoin" whenever I hit a block lol. Or I could get it to say "Soon" or "Stay Tuned" if I go a few blocks without hitting one!  Grin

I have that dingdingding sound on the pool everytime it hits a block Smiley

so I guess Spread is a no-pool-solo-mine only coin...except when its not! Cheesy Cheesy

the ding is just the default sound win 10 makes when that little window thingy in bottom right corner pops up with a message. im sure you can change it in the control panel sound notification settings somewhere.
aamof i did just that many years ago on my win 95 pc. i recorded all these silly wav files and set them as default for various file actions and such. yeah, i was a bored pc geek with too much time on my hands, lol

Atheist hate religion , simply because they are the adversary of there believes, the contradiction of there plan, they hate religion because religion , God is the center of there belief,

Hating atheism is self-hate, because atheism is a religion.    Cool

i have no phucking idea what on earth  you just said there. and probably no one else of normal intelligence does either. another example of your ridiculous meaningless word salads.

Many atheists fear religion because they are not very intelligent.

Point one you said "Meaningless when the backdrop is a major finacial shock"

IN MACRO ECONOMICS, A FINANCIAL SHOCK HAS TO EXIST FOR MORE THAN 1 QUARTER.

You simply made this claim up, because you thought it sounded impressive.  Grin

Point two you said "Wage inflation was happening anyway because the minimum wage went up by 7.5% from April this year"

The Median Average Salary was £27,480 in 2008 and it is £27,600 in 2016. According to inflation calculations is should be £30,500 in 2016.

You simply have not read original post Grin

Point three you said "Now financial services which account for 25% of GDP"

The Financial Service Sector is about 13-14% of the UK economy

You simply quote an incorrect figure here Grin

This UK economy has successfully operated (in the past) and had much better GDP growth when the Financial Sector was smaller 8%, 10%, 12%, etc.

It can be argued: economies with smaller Financial Sector deliver better GDP growth, than economies with oversized Financial Sectors Grin

This is because, economies with oversized Financial Sectors have high levels of speculative pumps and dumps. Equally, it produces an over emphasis in short-term share and bond yields, which hampers business and entrepreneurial efforts  Grin

Point four you said "bank roll the work shy are being threatened by loss of passporting rights,"

This is clearly not macro economic argument, but merely an argument based on prejudices.

As they say: each person has their own unique and personalised self-motivational bigotries Grin

Point five you said "Paris and Frankfurt which are seeing an opportunity to steal trade from London"

Fraternity is: "the rights of competitor to compete in an environment free of murder, torture, drugging, harassment, theft".

Even though the EU does not adhere to principles of "Fraternity".

Those centres have been competing with the UK for decades, they are not stealing anything, but merely continuing their competition Grin

Point six you said "Brexit negotiations will not happen. As soon as the UK gives official notice to quit Europe, there will be a wall of silence for 2 years until the UK drops out"

The UK has a Net Trade Deficit with EU of £6-£10 billion each month or around £72-£120 billion per annum (it goes up down all the time).

Simply put: where there to be no BREXIT negotiations, everything defaults to WTO tariff taxation of 10%.

Naturally, this would generate extra tax receipts revenue of £6-£10 per annum, when combined with WTO Tariff Rebate Scheme for major UK exporters to EU, which means UK goods would not become more expensive to EU consumers.

Point seven you said "The City is the gateway to Europe. Soon London is going to be gateway to Grimsby. Let's hope fishing can replace the City of London."

Before, the UK joined the EU in 1975, fishing was a major part of UK economy and it also contained large numbers of jobs in secondary support industries.

When Fishing went into decline, the UK's ship-building sector went into decline. Therefore, the total losses have been much greater than immediate losses in the Fishing Sector.

These were well paid jobs, where nicely distributed outside London and Southeast.

If, the Fishing Sector could recover to somewhere near it's pre-EU size, it would be very helpful in re-balancing the economy and yielding better economic performance in Northern England and Scotland.

There could, also, be indirect recovery in shipbuilding sector in the UK.

i'll go out on a limb here and say you voted "Leave"  Cheesy

CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action

Little real world information for anyone that believes they will receive a Full Refund.
Don't Count on it.

Class Actions Lawsuits are only a way to make a corporation stop doing a certain type of action.
Normally the only ones that receive any Real Money are the Lawyers and special counsels that might be paid by the proceeds.
Whatever pittance is left is divided equally among the people listed , those people don't usually get jack.  Tongue

Read the following to understand.

The Class Action Racket
By Lawrence W. Schonbrun

Have you ever received a notice in the mail informing you that you might be a member of a class action lawsuit?  You probably have.  Did you even bother to read it?  Probably not.  Did you ever file a claim for compensation?  Probably not.  Did you ever file an objection to the settlement?  Certainly not.  Did you know that the lawyers bringing these suits get paid regardless of how many people file claims and regardless of how many class members actually get anything out of the settlement?

In what could be the poster child for the dysfunctional class action system, plaintiffs’ lawyers in the Ford Explorer SUV class action settlement were awarded $25 million in attorneys’ feesby claiming that the class members were receiving a benefit of $500 million.  However, what class members actually received was a $500 coupon towards the purchase of a new Ford vehicle.  Only 148 of those were ever redeemed for a total value of $74,000.  That’s right -- $25 million for the lawyers although the class members actually received $74,000.

But it gets worse.  Take the infamous Bank of Boston class action.  In that case, class members had their accounts credited between $2.19 and $8.76 as a result of the settlement, but also had their accounts debited with a “miscellaneous deduction” of up to $91 -- to cover the costs of the settlement, i.e., plaintiffs’ and defendants’ attorneys’ fees and litigation costs.  For this so-called “benefit” to class members, class counsel received $8.5 million in attorneys’ fees.

It's all about focus.  Class action lawyers don't want the public to focus on the negative aspects of class action settlements -- the $91 the lawsuit is costing you.  All class action settlements focus on the benefits, however meager, but never disclose the true costs to class members and consumers generally.

Why do the lawyers get so much when their clients get so little? In the words of Federal Judge William G.  Young, “simply put, the class action vehicle is broken.” Unfortunately, the vehicle works well for the people who run it -- lawyers -- and the people who could fix it -- judges and legislators.  The injured class members who are supposed to be the primary focus of these cases have become its primary victims.  The plaintiffs’ lawyers are happy because they are getting overpaid -- massively; the defendants’ lawyers and the experts (hired by both sides and an important part of the class action scheme) are happy because they’re getting well paid (if not overpaid); the defendants are happy because they are avoiding further costly legal proceedings with unknown outcomes.  And, last but not least, the judges are happy because they are getting a case cleared off their dockets.

Unfortunately, the criterion for good judging these days is how quickly cases are processed to conclusion, not how well reasoned the outcomes.  The judge gets the additional satisfaction of having made an important decision in a big case, thereby enhancing his or her self-importance and reputation.  Some class members may even be happy -- at least those few who actually read the notice and redeemed their coupons.  (Although is getting a $500 coupon towards the purchase of a $25,000 car really something to gloat about?)  Even some class members who didn’t redeem their coupons may be happy because they assume that a bad corporation has been punished for some actual or alleged misdeed.  But we as a society should not be happy because money (we’re talking hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars) that could be going to a better use becomes nothing more than slop for thousands of lawyers feeding at the class action trough.

What’s wrong with the class action system?  Why does it put lawyers’ interests first, the public's interest last, and class members’ interests next to last?

 Cool

FYI:
Broken down, class actions means only the Lawyers get rich and the plaintiff gets as close to $0 as possible.

If its just chump change (usually the case,as you rightfully pointed out) no proof or documentation required, just name and addy,
so anyone and his brother can join many of these current class actions which inevitably thins out the available funds...

https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/open-lawsuit-settlements/

i got reminded of it when outta the blue,i got a $30 check in mail from one (of many) i musta
filled out like a year ago. (Toms Toothpaste).
free money for cost of postage stamp and/or a few mouse clix.
id join the cryptsy one but thankfully i managed to get most of my funds out via dogecoin just before the ship sank.
if you lost your shirt as many did, the class action is probably not gonna do much for you.

Bitcoins rolling great so far Wink I think after the halving there will be definatly another high price rising again. Other Users are permitting there is an price of 4k maybe per btc available at the End of the Year.
This could all happen. The little Tea Cup the Bitcoin is having after his first Price increase is more like an Infaltion regulation u can watch after the halving in other side Wink

Halving is nearly here.

Time to start shining.

Meh, I predict that the halving will be an absolute no-event. Like a fart in the wind.

I wonder though what your opinion on brexit is? How do you see it.

Insanity.

Free movement of trade can't be beaten.

Brexit was about immigration. Those that voted out were the working classes who lost their bargaining chip of refusing to work if they didn't get the high pay they wanted because someone better would do the work for minimum wage.

People were fed up because of foreigners taking their jobs. Shame the employers see their jobs as open to the best candidate.

Brexit was a vote against locals inability to be good enough to compete.  It's like the premier league football game. All the best players are immigrants. That's why England got knocked out of the European cup.

The UK economy is built around financial services. The working classes can't see they killed their golden egg laying goose. But they already had nothing to lose. Now everyone is in their boat.

That's why the vote was insanity.

Now we don't have a government or opposition party. The Brexit camp have started fighting with each other and the country is in crisis.

That's the other reason this was insanity.

People can make great speeches that motivate the easily led, but if there is no substance, it's a house of cards.

In all seriousness, we can take the rug from under the DASH dream with a Bitcoin paid node model. Let's not let that slip away.

Well said my friend. Coming fom myself, a British expat, i think
PM Cameron was a complete idiot to put this to a referendum in the 1st place.
big mis-judgement . Interesting to see that now a lot of ignorant voters who voted to leave, after seeing

4879  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: July 02, 2016, 02:28:55 AM
All problems are human problems, even the religion ones.

In medieval times church [Christian] and state were so fused, you couldn't divide them on a hair breadth. Guess what happened then? Enlightenment happened.... lol  Cheesy Scientific breakthrough after breakthrough. So church authority diminished as science showed flaws in church [Christian] worldview. State gradually became sole official tax collector (because of separation of state and church) (but not solely in actuality; church continued as well (but now on its own), more cunningly, I would say). Church "authority" kept on diminishing as science kept on progressing more and more.

The God-of-the-Gap type of belief system is in grave danger if you ask me. Better revolutionize God concept, and thereby revolutionize spirituality and piety than cling to something that will never ever be the same again - thankfully, I might add.

All problems are human problems, even the religion ones.

Actually, it is science that is in grave danger.

Science has produced many of the conveniences of life... through scientific engineering, of course. We would like science to remain so that it can produce many more good things for us.

Science is at its pinnacle, however, and beginning to crumble. Why? Simply because scientists had no way to disprove God, and the more they tried, the more they proved His existence. Scientists don't talk about this very much. But the fact is, the more science attempts to discover the great, hidden wonders of the universe, the more they prove the existence of God.

This is why science has turned to theory. In science theory, scientists put together a bunch of science facts (and sometimes non-facts) as a new way to look at the combination of facts. Then they develop a conclusion about the theory. Often this conclusion suggests that the theory is fact, even though it is not proven to be fact.

People are seeing through this science deception. They are realizing that often the so-called science fact is based on what the scientists would like rather than on the truth. Graham Hancock is one of those who has discovered this in the field of archaeology. Donald E. Scott, Ph.D., and many others are finding out that stars are electrical in nature, and not atomic. Brian Cox has shown that Quantum Mechanics is pure probability, and that it can give no proven answers answers to anything alone, because it can give completely contradicting answers to everything. And there are many more.

Science as we know it is breaking down as the source for all knowledge. Why? Because many famed scientists have built and explained science according to their hopes and dreams rather than according to the truth.

Cool

I'm thinking that to run a scam you do need some customers who do well to perpetuate it
and apparently I was one of those lucky few.
I'm a lousy trader and mostly hodel.
How ironic that this, my best crypto investment (1.9 btc profit) turned out to be a total scam.
As I said above, sorry to hear so many customers got reamed.
sadly ,crypto is a dog eat dog world rife with scumbaggery that preys on ones tendency to greed.
