What kind of hashing performance were you getting with that specific card?
Im getting 430 mhps on a gigabyte 5870 without too much trouble Wow I struggle to get 400 !! i get 400 Mh/s with a 5850 :p

Now it's a perfect time to get your own domain since it's never been so cheap! PM me.
it actually gets cheaper and cheaper as time passes. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

you can probably get away with using a cheaper motherboard. Just get one with enough pcie slots (width doesn't matter, even 1x will work), and use extenders to convert any non 16x slots to 16x slots for your cards.

go for the compromise: 5850, best MH/$ ratio. 5830 is ok, but you can't overclock it as much (in terms of %)

How are you planning on achieving 1.5 Ghash/sec with an $800 budget?
5870's are $250 apiece at the moment and each only get around 350 Mh/s and are one of the most cost efficient GPUs at the moment. Even 3 of them would not get 1.5 Ghas / sec and that's not including the substantial cost of the rest of the equipment that goes with a computer.
you can get 5850 for less than $150, and they hash at 250-300 MH/s, even 400MH/s if it's overclocked (convery did it).

the best pool is either bitcoinpool, or btcguild, because they both have no fees. deepbit is the biggest, but it has 3% fee. personally, i wouldn't use deepbit because they're inching to 50% hashing power, which could compromise the network.

c'mon, decide already.
also, i just found out it's Limited Edition.

try using a command-line miner, and see if that works. if it doesn't, post your startup parameters. (command line miners are easier to debug ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) )

that's a normal amount. remember, bitcoin isn't a get rich quick scheme. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Just imagine the amount of 58xx's that will be flooding the used market once 7series comes out with more SP's and better TDP. I can already see my for sale thread with twelve 58xx's ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I doubt that will happen, just look at the 6xxx series, much more expensive than the 5xxx series, in terms of MH/$

you don't need to configure bitcoin.conf if you're pool mining.
|
|
|
It's the best card in terms of MH/$, but it seems to be super rare. any idea why? I can't imagine all of them being bought by miners.

I would also be interested if you have any of these left at 2 BTC?
