4861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Stephen Wolfram" says bitcoin creator is known classified material on: August 04, 2020, 04:11:45 PM
Him saying that secret services know who Satoshi is can be compared to all those people who claim that secret services are experimenting on aliens and have a space ship hidden in area 51.

Claiming that agents are controlling everything around us is a theory popular among those who realy don't know much and need an explanation. Another popular theory is that God is in control of our destiny Wink
If bitcoin really takes off during the next decades you can be sure that the identity of satoshi is going to become one of the greatest mysteries of this century as people will wonder who was this person that created the currency of the future, and you can be sure all kind of rumours and legends will begin to emerge about him.
We don't need to wait though, it's been like 3 years that many theories has pop up as to who is satoshi is, CSW for example and many others.

And I will not be surprised if in the future people claim that satoshi was an alien or someone that came from the future or some other ridiculous theory, the truth is satoshi hid himself pretty effectively and there is no reason to believe he will ever comeback and the best part is that his own invention does not need it, as bitcoin has worked quite well despite his disappearance.
Like this one? Do you think Aliens or Artificial Intelligence created Bitcoin?. We may have our own theories who may be satoshi, but that's it, just a supposition of ideas because we really don't know who satoshi is as he left before his creation became so popular.

4863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you fear the president of your country, one day, making Crypto illegal ? on: August 03, 2020, 12:46:45 PM
I am living in India, and here the system is different. The president has only nominal powers and the real power is with the parliament and with the ministers. But that doesn't mean that we don't have to worry about a potential ban. The former finance secretary (Subhash Chandra Garg) once proposed to make ownership of cryptocurrency a criminal offense, punishable by a jail term of up to 10 years. Fortunately, the finance ministry fired this loser and threw away his recommendation in the dust bin.
India is very different, we thought that we have won against the RBI ban, but it seems that the parliament and ministers will take it differently.

Regarding the question, anything is possible, we shouldn't be too relax today. Just because some governments are being too friendly doesn't mean that one day they won't overturn their decisions. If they deem that crypto is bring more harm than good to their economic standing, sooner or later they might go against and change their tone. No one is safe from government.
4864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why did we experience an overshoot in the price of Bitcoins ? on: August 03, 2020, 11:42:32 AM
Smart investors are simply fleeing to BTC, let's just say that. The US and the world economy is falling, and investors are looking for the best option right now which is: bitcoin. And then more investors follow suit, pushing to a level that we are not supposed to be at this juncture of the bull run. You just have to think about it, would you rather have your money in banks, stocks, gold (precious metals) or cryptocurrency such as bitcoin and ethereum?
4865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The total Ethereum fees have been surpassing Bitcoin's fees for a month and 1/2 on: August 03, 2020, 11:13:51 AM
I'm not surprised by this graph though, we have seen some massive spike on the price of Ethereum so it's pretty obvious that there are more transaction in the last month and a half. We even have threads here when people are complaining about the exorbitant gas/gwei that Ethereum is currently experience. But yes, this could be a bullish signal and I also read that this is even comparable to the numbers when we have our last bull run, but this remains to be seen.
4866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [experience]; In one family all professional gamblers. on: August 03, 2020, 10:25:29 AM
I know one family back in the days, his father is involved in cock-fighting, he has 4 kids and two of them gets involved as well. I know it because I grew up with those 2 kids are we are best buddies. However, as we gets old, one because an engineer, and one still involves in gambling, he has a job in our local casinos. So I guess, once it runs in the family, it will continue for generations. But personally, I won't think my kids to get into the world of gambling as I know they might fall and became addicted.
4867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 mistakes to avoid when investing in Crypto on: August 02, 2020, 03:22:29 PM
nice try. But how do a new investor/trader know whether the exchange is fake or not? No one use any faulty exchange. Scam exchange only can deceive until people findout the truth. May be you are talking about ignorant people who doesn’t  even google the exchange.
I like your 1st point, the learning part. Knowledge is the only key to Success
Maybe this can help you out:

https://www.bti.live/

Education is really very important in crypto sphere, and you just don't get your hands dirty here if you don't know how the market works. And as far as crypto exchanges, first sign if it is faking volumes of going to scam is that it is fairly new and you can't find any single review and obviously not well known in this community. And then the coins that are listed are all shitcoins. So it's better not to put your money in these kind of exchanges and just trade on top tier, like Binance, Coinbase, Kraken.
4868  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Putin signed a law on the regulation of cryptocurrencies from 2021 on: August 02, 2020, 02:30:46 PM
The law prohibits dealing, but it does not contain any penalties. The idea of punishing BTC investors with fines and prison terms has been suspended for the time being.

A law is expected to criminalize trading or impose severe penalties, but it is unlikely that it will be passed soon.
I do not think that they will pass a law that will criminalize trading because when a similar bill was introduced there was an outcry from ministers and cryptocurrency investors and now they are passing a law which allows companies to issue digital securities in blockchain if they are registered with the bank of Russia and if you pass a law like that then you cannot make a U turn and then ban everything. I am expecting strict regulations but not banning and imprisonment for users who abide by the law.

They can't totally ban crypto as people will doubt about their digital securities in blockchain. Sooner or later, they will change again their stand in terms of crypto dealings. There are so many Russians here who are into crypto, so I am sure they are also waiting to have good news from their government.
Why not? if they see the crypto will be a threat to their financial stability and could be used by criminals, can hide their wealth and not pay tax, then a country like the government of Russia can issue it. And I really doubt that under Putin, they will suddenly change their stance. It's authoritarian, and most countries with this kind of government wanted to get control of everything.
4869  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Hits USD 12K, Crashes By USD 800 In Minutes!! on: August 02, 2020, 02:14:57 PM
I'm not surprised, always had a feeling the market will take some hitting before crossing the $12k price mark, just like some weeks back when the price was trading below $10k and it looked like it'll take forever before it crosses that prices especially as the market crashes in each of its previous trys before it finally succeeded. The market has been very bullish lately which make it very easy for manipulation from the whales and that's what is likely happening now.
Just a matter of time before we can see that decline, that parabolic rise is not sustainable.

The market doesn't have enough support to cross $12k so the crashed was expected, read some technical analysis about the crash likely taking the price downwards to around $9.5k - $9.k but I don't think that would be the case as bitcoin currently seems to have a strong support at $11,100.
It's because we have exhausted, if we are going to look at the TA, $11,500 should be the resistance, but we have broken it, get to $11,800 but that is the last straw. So I would say that this is to be expected. But this is a healthy sign because we don't want a continuous growth, not at least at the end of the year.
4870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AltcoinDaily.io Youtube channel removed on: August 01, 2020, 02:13:00 PM
They are hitting the wrong birds on these, do we have another crackdown or what, it seems to go that way they should have explain first why they are approving ads about scam and fake giveaways, these are all wrong, anyway they the owners of the channel can still request for reinstatement.
I would say that this could be the start of the next youtube crackdown and they are going to hit at any direction just like the first one and then reinstate if they ban the wrong channel. Yes, its really sad that we can come around ads and fake giveaways and they are too slow to react. They should focus more on their effort on the crack of this scammers instead of banning a channel that might be innocent at the end. It doesn't look for them as they are really doing a poor job.
4871  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Stable At $11K – Altcoins In Green: The Calm Before The Strorm? on: August 01, 2020, 01:20:31 PM
In my view, bitcoin should stay in this level for some time, between 11k and 13k, for stabilization, then resume the way up.
If not for the pandemic, maybe we are in the $14k range.

We have broken $11.3k-$11.4k resistance, as the price zoom in at $11.6. But we are in the critical level as we are going to face another big psychological barrier which is $12k. If the current price is not sustainable, we might see some pullbacks again. But I don't think that we are going below five digits again. So we will have to see, it's already weekends anyways, some traders might take a rest because it's been a hectic week.
4872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Calls On Hackers to Attack Ethereum 2.0 in Exchange for Bug Bounty on: August 01, 2020, 01:05:48 PM
@TravelMug - yes, so far no one is claiming that they have broke Eth 2.0, but I'm sure there could be trying to find a loophole as we speak.

@blue_hurricanger - that's one possibility as well, maybe the hackers doesn't want to come out with their findings because it's going to be worth more than $5k if they found a high severity bug in the new code.
4873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Teofimo Lopez Lightweight Unification fight on: August 01, 2020, 12:26:16 PM
I don't think anybody is going to pay anywhere near $75 to watch Lomachenko fight, come on now.

Yes, he's one of the great to ever lace up the boots, but he's definitely not much of a superstar. A lot of boxing fans haven't even heard of him, because the heavyweight category is where all the money is at.

In the lighter categories, pretty much Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are the only ones that managed to successfully pull in $75-$100 PPVs.

I really wouldn't count on Lomachenko or Lomez pulling in anywhere near those numbers—lockdown or not! I think we'll be looking at closer to $25-$30 in order to appeal to as many people as possible, that's if it's not streamed through some sort of promotional offer.

I personally wouldn't pay more than $30 for this fight, unless the undercard is absolutely stacked.

I guess we have different opinion, of course, for some it's not reasonable but I think before they came out with that price, they have already evaluated how the people will react and how they are gonna come up to make this fight successful. Please remember that the fight does not have a gate entrance which is where big portion of their revenue is really coming, so I guess they have a reason to sell the PPV at a higher price if we are thinking the price is just high.

Well, for some, they might just watch an illegal streaming so it won't matter to them.
I agree with what you said here, they might not be worth $75, but this are two highly level boxers at the lower weight division and they should deserved what PPV the other boxers in the higher weight class is being paid. Yes, I'm sure that there are people going to stream this one in facebook, but still worth every penny if you buy the PPV and watch it with your friends around specially that we are in the pandemic.
4874  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Putin signed a law on the regulation of cryptocurrencies from 2021 on: August 01, 2020, 11:25:02 AM
We all know that they have a hard line stance against crypto, I'm expecting this signing and implementation much earlier.

it's not totally anti-crypto. for example, the law explicitly allows companies to issue security tokens if they register with the central bank, which is a lot less harsh than china's 2017 regulation. the law also legitimizes BTC and other cryptocurrencies as investments by fitting them into the russian tax scheme.

the fact that crypto can't be used to pay for goods and services is certainly a bummer, but i don't see the news affecting the market (domestic or otherwise) and it also probably won't be enforced.
I do hope so, but it seems that there are no repercussions as of yet and business as usual for our Russian crypto enthusiast here in our community. I think the market really matures as these kind of negative news are not really affecting the market. But if this is 2017, I mean crypto media sites are going to jump on it and spin everything to create another FUD.
4875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gervonta Davis vs Leo Santa Cruz on: July 31, 2020, 04:09:56 AM
In the fields of boxing, it is hard to guess if who is wins except for their respective strength they are both good and hardworking. we could not be hiding that in reality, Gervonta Davis is too much older in the fields of boxing which are comparing to Leo Santa Cruz if we are thinking about the power punch according to the research the left hook of Leo Santa Cruz is very strong so I think this coming event is very nice.
What you are saying here doesn't make sense, too much older in the field of boxing? Or do you mean Davis has the experience? In terms of experience I will give it to Leo Santa Cruz, but it doesn't matter if your opponent is better than you. Yes, Leo has a good left hook, but you also have to research who has the better knock out percentage. This is not 122 or 126 lbs that Leo used to be putting people down. This is 130 lbs in which Davis weight, although he has problems making it, but I think he will make the cut this time.
4876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can anyone explain How this works? on: July 31, 2020, 03:30:16 AM
Right, this is what we call staking,

Quote
What is staking?
Staking is the process of actively participating in transaction validation (similar to mining) on a proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain. On these blockchains, anyone with a minimum-required balance of a specific cryptocurrency can validate transactions and earn Staking rewards.

source: What is staking?.

The problem is, how legit PayAccept though, recently there has been a surge of this staking + Defi and it's just a matter of time before someone takes advantage of it and scam people, it will be IEO 2017 all over again.
4877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ledger 1 Mln Users Data Under Attack on: July 31, 2020, 03:05:01 AM
I remember @mk4 post here, Ledger(and Trezor) hardware wallet owners: heads up | EDIT: (debunked). And as per update, they say that they are not hacked and that this rumour is not true. But I think this is the the same breach reported in May. Not very good for Ledger image here, sad to say. They should have admit it right away and not they are looking very shady because of this move.
4878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More and more moved Bitcoins from "Bitfinex Hack 2016" to unknown wallet-adress on: July 31, 2020, 02:43:34 AM
I already open a similar thread as what @ rhomelmabini has mentioned, Bitfinex hacks BTC are on the moved. Lower left, lock topic.
4879  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance trading bots are garbage on: July 31, 2020, 02:26:08 AM
Has anyone else in here noticed how easy it is to predict the trading bot trends on binance? Tongue
You mean trading bots made by Binance or trading bots you are using in Binance?
OP is lack of information about what you want to say, just like JeromeTash said, this could be lead to misunderstanding.
But as I also noticed on some spot trading, not only Binance, bots are always there so nothing's new about trading bots.
I will assume it was the latter, again this is another trader who really understand how this bot works. It is not rocket science, but if you don't have the experienced to trade then why used bot? Not magical beans that will just sprout and make you money, need to get that ass and work and educate ourselves in this world of trading crypto.
4880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Stolen money from Binance on: July 30, 2020, 10:15:25 AM
Another expensive lessons to learn here in crypto sphere and it's really sad to hear this kind of stories. I don't want to sound rude here, but you should move forward, learn from this mistakes, or at least understand how the hackers where able to obtain your information and how he withdraw. And from then on, practice good security hygiene so that it you won't make the same mistakes again.
