Considering how many Russian mafia fortunes were stolen, I wonder how long it will take before EU ministers are found dead in an alley with needles in their arms; or their grandkids are taken in retribution. Really, Russian mobsters are the last group that I'd think that a bunch of socialist leaning politicos in Brussels would want to upset.
Socialist leaning politics in Brussels? You are speaking about Merkel and her Troika friends? If they are socialist leaning your Ron Paul is a communist.

PrimeAsic is a proved SCAM

Shut up you stupid twit. This is the end and you know it.
The end of what? I'm up 900% in my position at current prices LOL!!!! so you bought 1000 BTC at $1?

Guys, come on. We will have flash crashes when big players cash part of their stash out and small timers panic sell... But this is going UP UP UP in the mid and long term. I mean, have you seen the insane amount of fiat is pouring into the exchanges? Don't you see bitcointalk.org or reddit are having their higher quantity of online users ever? Don't you see how more people of the streets is slowly hearing about bitcoin and understanding it?
Bullish signs EVERYWHERE

Congratulations. Lucky bastards. i had fiat, but my order wasn't accepted because the API LAG is showing the wrong price, so i wasnt able to get any coins for $77 because the actual price was already at $82. fucking goxxed again. Gox me once, shame on Gox, Gox me twice, shame on the Gox Hamsters running the show... Gox me three times and its my own damn fault for not switching exchanges! THIS.

Guillotine and burning streets are the only reasonable answers to this.

I just called DHL and got a tracking number. There is a package with my name on it coming to me from Hong Kong. The package hasn't been given to DHL yet but the tracking number was generated this morning. The only information I gave the DHL representative was my Name and zip-code. DHL said that once they have the package it will take 1 to 2 days for it to be delivered.
Yufi, I assume this package is an Avalon being sent to me from your company. Is it? Let me know if you find out.
Sam
You can bet it is. Congrats (finally)

It looks like there were some order sold ~ 1000 BTC sold not too long ago.
I've got >5000 more plus 4 avalons. I'll be ok. Lol. I thought I read in am Avalon thread that you were a "poor" university researcher... +5.000 + 4 Avalons does not look that poor XD or that feasible... 4 Avalons seems feasible for what he wrote on Avalon's threads. He wrote a memorable post about the increase in price for the batch 3 Avalon- that's where he stated that being a poor researcher, just a hobbyist willing to support the network, he couldn't afford risking on a batch 3 Avalon... I liked that post, it touched my heart... But if you have + 5.000btc MORE (he said he cashed out for a RV already) you can definitrly afford a 75btc machine

Most Online Today: 4824. Most Online Ever: 4824 (Today at 10:20:50 PM)
We broke through the forum all-time high, first time since 2011!
As I was saying: bullish signs everywhere, you don't even need to look at the charts to see them.
|
|

$75 is first major support.
Lucif says if it stays above $75 then it's a major bullish sign. We'll see. I'm having to simply watch from the sidelines because of the lag on gox. It's pretty clear that there are bullish signs everywhere. Major media attention, new technology securing the network (Asics), thousands of newcomers queuing to be verifying at Gox, newbies turning their fiat in BTC everywhere. Each correction is only an excellent buy opportunity.

Gox is working for me. My funds should clear in aprox. 5 hours, nice opportunity to buy

Yeah, new user with random nick investing...
Yeah what's wrong with that? Well, it's kinda strange that you are not asking for a refund like crazy given the fact that is two days now that Avalon's batch #3 is out of stock.

I really don't know it it's a pure and simple scam or a lack of competence. I do know for sure that based on past events (massive delays + huge preorder backlog, etc.) you cannot expect to receive any time soon (2014?) an order placed recently.

If you don't read enough before entering the Bitcoin world you can have some unpleasant experience... Working to try to address that

You have to understand that this community sees someone joining for monetary gain as a bad thing. I can't totally blame them given the history of scams here and the vulnerability of BTC to be just taken with no recourse for the victim but just saying you have to keep that in mind.
And it's not only about trust. OP should take his time to buy his first BTC and to calmly analyze the different opportunities (ASIC or not) and the risks involved.
|
|
|
What you should do is after you get the coins, just walk. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by just abandoning your forum account. I disagree. I'd loose the opportunity to make much more money than that by mining with the ASIC. And the opportunity to build trust with the btc community that may open countless new other opportunities. And starting my own local trading btc business in Chile. And all the fun in the boards with you guys. I'm not looking to scam anyone, I'm making an honest proposal. But then, I guess you don't have any way to know that beforehand. Therefore we have risk. And it's all about risk. In the end, I'll be happy if someone lends me 1 BTC and then, when I pay it back, at least I would have earned a little trust. Or a friend. Cheers! Frankly speaking: it looked like an honest joke. Next time take your time to calculate ROI expectations based on difficulty projections, etc. It may help. And have some BTC to invest yourself, that will help too.

Heh. Autorun.
Also, why do you assume that you have total control over what gets written?
Because you load whatever CD-writing software you prefer, then you manually add the transaction file. The disc must be blank in order to write to it, and unless the malicious code has also compromised your burning software, only what you specify to be written will be written. And once it's written, the disc is physically unwritable. Is this not currently the best method to transfer the transaction files thus far? How about it, etotheipi? Not just the writer software. Also the driver, the host interface driver, the driver's firmware, the host interface's firmware, the BIOS, etc. If we are assuming a clever attacker, we have to assume that one or all of those is owned. If we aren't assuming a clever attacker, then there are WAY easier ways to move files around. I still prefer the serial port approach. If a getty is running on a serial line, then armory won't be able to open it. And if armory can open it, then the getty can't run. If armory is the intended use, then the problem will be apparent soon enough. For extra paranoia, we could make an armory distro with a stripped down inittab. Hell, add a SE policy to disallow anything but armory from opening /dev/ttyS* An Armory distro would be great. Super secure and easy to use.

True what you say, but there is no problem. The bitcoin-qt client allows translation to mBTC and uBTC at the choice of the user. No problem there.
Sure but what is default matters most. Can you imagine Windows pre-installed without Solitaire (as default)? It will be end of the Windows dominance! Seriously though, I think especially, the large exchanges (MtGox etc) should switch to mBTC as default. No worries. It will happen naturally soon enough.
