Prithvi Shaw and Manyak Agarwal who has been used as openers for this warm up match and both of them were inexperienced IMHO.But in test match having right opening combo is crucial, losing early wickets can change the whole match at the later part.I hope Rahane will open the test matches along with one new player because Kohli will play in the number 4 spot.

I wouldn't call Mayank Agarwal as an inexperienced player. It is true that the number of test matches played by him is in single digits, but he has large number of first class matches to his name and he is a regular for the India A tours. And I would like Virat Kohli to bat at number 3, since he is one of those Indian batsmen who are not afraid of green surfaces.
4862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 14, 2020, 05:23:11 PM
Kingsmead used to be one of the most pace-friendly surfaces, but I don't know how whether that has changed recently or not. If it still supports the pace bowlers, then any total above 160 should be enough for England. They have already crossed that score (162/5 after 17.2 overs) and it is going to be an uphill task for the South African batsmen.

^^ guys let's continue test match discussion here. Just for heads up kl Rahul is not in test squad and Rohit fitness level still not clear due to injury along with ishant Sharma.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5168384.msg53835246#msg53835246

Rohit Sharma is one of the most important players for India, but only in ODI and T20 formats. He doesn't have the patience to play long innings in test format and therefore I don't think that his absence (in case he is not fit) will have a large impact on the outcome of the series. He is 32 years old, and so far he has played just 32 test matches. Now compare this to Virat Kohli, who is younger than Rohit and has 84 test matches against his name. Personally I would prefer Mayank Agarwal instead of Rohit Sharma in the test format.
4864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why exchange coins moving up.. on: February 14, 2020, 02:16:06 PM
There is a lot of speculation regarding exchange coins and in my opinion, the vast majority of them are heavily over-priced. If you ask me, I don't think that a coin such as BNB can have a market cap of $4 billion. I would calculate its fair valuation at a much lower level. Investors are accumulating BNB, because they expect the exchange to grow exponentially over the next few years. Now this is a very risky investment strategy, especially with cryptocurrency exchanges.
4865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 14, 2020, 02:10:12 PM
For the ICC, it is somewhat beneficial not to have a bilateral series between India and Pakistan. If there is a bilateral series, then obviously the revenues will go to BCCI and PCB. On the other hand, if India and Pakistan plays against each other only in the ICC tournaments, then ICC will be getting the lion's share of revenue. I strongly suspect that this is one of the reasons why ICC is not pushing hard here (anyway even if ICC puts pressure on BCCI, I don't think that it is going to have any impact).
4866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What’s the best coin to buy apart from bitcoin on: February 14, 2020, 02:04:48 PM
Right now I am concentrating on three coins mainly - Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin. I had very bad experience with some of the smaller coins in the past and that is the reason why I am not much interested in them right now. But there can be some smaller coins that may give you god returns if a bull run materializes. For example, Ebitcoin (EBTC) has risen by 900% during the last few days. I don't think that any of the established altcoins will give you that sort of returns.
4867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 14, 2020, 01:58:54 PM
So in today's warm up test match also India performed badly. The opening batsmen got out at 0 and 1 and Pujara and Vihari were the only ones to score runs in the match. Shubman Gill gave an IV few days back and looked confident but he also made 0 today. The new batsmen are either fooling themselves or viewers or will claim that it was a warm-up match so it's OK. Last time also they lost against NZ in warm-ups and in the semi-final match.

Indian batsmen are always vulnerable on green surfaces. And Virat Kohli was not playing in this match, so there was additional pressure on the batsmen to perform. As I can see from the scorecard, only two of the batsmen scored above 20 (Pujara and Hanuma Vihari). And Scott Kuggeleijn must be feeling ecstatic right now, after nabbing three of the Indian batsmen. I don't think that the selectors can ignore him now, especially in the absence of some of their strike bowlers.
4868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: As a Bounty hunter, don't expect too much on: February 14, 2020, 03:39:51 AM
bounty hunters complain that the prizes they get don't match the results of their hard work promoting the projects they as long participate in. actually being a bounty hunter is a fun job because it doesn't cost money at all but I agree with you because don't expect too much to get many profits to become a bounty hunter because it's not will possible to happens.

No one joins a bounty project just for fun. If that was the case, then what is the need for the promoters to offer bounty? They can just ask the Bitcointalk users to give them free promotion, as they are having "fun". Even in the shittiest of the bounty project, the participants expect some sort of reward in the end and they will be dejected if that is not realized. For many of the new users here in Bitcointalk, even a reward of $5 or $10 matters a lot. But it is tragic that many of the bounties refuse to pay even this small amount.

Politics is interlinked with sports nowadays and my personal opinion is that you can't just put the blame on cricket. Other sports are also not free from the influence of politics. Russia was banned from Olympics for the use of Meldonium, while the American gymnast Simone Biles (who won the gold) was let scot free for the usage of the same drug. The excuse given that she needs the medication for her ADHD medication. How bizarre this sounds? Who needs a performance enhancing drug such as Meldonium to treat ADHD? And similarly, Russian Maria Sharapova was banned for the usage of Meldonium, while the Williams sisters tested positive for it and yet faced no action against them.
There is a major difference, the Russia teams was banned because it was revealed that it was a state sponsored drug abuse to enhance the performance of the athletes and the drugs the rest of the athletes you mentioned used were due to medication reasons and not to especially enhance their performance and that is a major difference. I am not claiming that these drug testing are perfect but there is a difference between both these cases.

There was no proof presented to this claim (that the Russian officials asked their athletes to take Meldonium). And the case in involving Simone Biles was very shady. She never revealed that she was taking Meldonium until the moment she got caught. And then she claimed that she was taking it for ADHD. But as far as I know, Meldonium is not used to treat ADHD anywhere in the world. My point is very simple. Russia was banned because the Americans were afraid of the competition (both in women's tennis and Olympics). And for me, Maria Sharapova is much superior to the transgender tennis players from the US.

AFAIK,every born child should be registered withing the time frame from being born is mandatory to get birth certificate but here we have more corrupted government officials so we can pay some money as bribe and can register at any time when we want.Note: we can also take birth certificate for a person who doesn't even born in India. Cheesy
I am not deputing your claims as corruption is prevalent in India but from my experience dealing with people all around India what i found is that majority of the people from North of India does not go to hospitals when they are pregnant instead they deliver the child at home with the help of local nurse who does not have a degree from a medical school but who have the skills passed on through generation and hence they do not have a clear idea about the exact date of birth but having a different year of birth is fraudulent but it is happening because the authorities is also not having any idea about their real birth and they will accept what the parents claim.

Even i was shocked to hear this in the beginning but it is what it is and that is the fact.

That was the case 10-15 years back, but even in states like Bihar the majority of the births take place in hospitals now. Also, Aadhar card has been made mandatory in accessing government services and therefore the biometric information is recorded now, along with other details such as DOB. But then, India is a country of 1.4 billion people (expected to hit 3 billion by the end of this century) and we can't expect the system to cover each and every individual living here.
4871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: February 14, 2020, 02:58:57 AM
In the recent years, India has performed well in overseas pitches that supported pace bowling. But this was mostly due to the effort put in by seam bowlers such as Mohammad Shami and Ishant Sharma, as well as due to consistent performances with the bat by Virat Kohli. But the spinners and the other batsmen have not yet proved themselves in such conditions. And therefore, New Zealand has a real chance of upsetting India.
Why would any consider it as an upset as New Zealand does perform better in their own back ground and if they prepare green wickets India does have the fast bowling pedigree to challenge any team and the Indian batting depends upon Virat Kohli and if he fails to deliver they loose the match and that is what we saw in the ODI.

Indian pacers (Ishant, Shami, Bumrah.etc) will perform on green pitches. But the problem is with the batsmen. During the past, none of the batsmen (apart from Virat Kohli) have performed consistently on pitches that are supportive of pace bowling. And the performance of spinners on such surfaces have been pathetic as well. Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal may be better when compared to Ravichandran Ashwin in this regard, but even their bowling has been below par.
4872  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin dominance hits 71.2%, alts lagging behind on: February 13, 2020, 05:47:15 PM
OK.. When Bryant Coleman posted the last update, the Bitcoin dominance was around 64.5%. And within one week, this figure has come down to 61.8%. And the most surprising thing is that most of the market share that Bitcoin lost, has gone to altcoins such as Ethereum and Ripple. Who would have expected this? ETH was trading at BTC0.018 a few weeks back. And now it is trading at BTC0.026. The same with XRP as well (2,500 Sat to 3,200 Sat).
4873  Economy / Economics / Re: How do manage portfolio efficiently while having a full time job? on: February 13, 2020, 05:43:15 PM
It's very much possible to be successful trader and have a full time steady job.

I can't agree with your statement. If you are a day-trader, then it is really hard to concentrate on anything else. Because you need to track the important developments almost 24x7. And this is impossible if you have a full-time job. If you try to manage both of them, then you will suffer losses in both the sectors. And it can even result in the termination of your employment.
4874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 13, 2020, 05:34:10 PM
Being an Indian citizen, I have to say that it is very easy to forge the date of birth column in the high school mark sheet. At the time of joining, the parents usually lower the age of their child by 6 months or an year and this new date of birth is then continued with every document such as Aadhar Card, Voter ID.etc. Most of the time, it goes on without any suspicion. However, in some cases, as a result of the physical appearance of the individual he gets caught and if he is unlucky, then he'll be sent for the bone-density test.
It is really strange as there is no mandatory to register when the child is born and that is usually done through hospital and on seeing these situation it is really strange someone to reduce their age as it is not fair for the other kids who are competing against them and these sort of malpractices should be given strict punishment so that someone's opportunity is robbed by these actions. What is the accuracy level when you test bone density to determine age Undecided.

As per the law, mandatory birth registration is there. But even now, the coverage is low in the rural areas. And you can imagine the situation we had 15 or 20 years back, when the data was not stored digitally. A lot many times, the compiled data would be lost (either due to natural disasters such as flood, or due to accidents such as fire). And the penalty given to the offenders is not very serious and it actually encourages such crime. For example, Delhi player Prince Ram Niwas Yadav was found to have faked his age in a domestic U-19 tournament two months back. He was only given a two-year suspension (BCCI could have banned him for life). In his case, he was 24 year old but claimed that he was 19 so that he could participate in the U19 tournament.

Yesterday Nepal bowled out the United States for just 35 runs in an ODI match (which was part of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2). I didn't saw any posts mentioning that match here. This was the lowest ever score by any team in the history of ODI cricket. Sandeep Lamichhane picked up 6 wickets and Nepal chased the target in less than 6 overs.

Lamichhane missed very important matches for his franchise side (Melbourne Stars) in the BBL, as he chose to represent his national side. And looks as if his decision was the right one.
4876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Classic or Ethereum? on: February 13, 2020, 04:17:27 PM
ethereum classic is the forerunner and became the initial root of ethereum formation that we now know and use. in fact ethereum classic still exists today, but after the appearance of the original ethereum crypto users began to forget about it. ethereum classic began to be forgotten because in the past hacking often happened on this coin. after going through development and using hard fork to change to a new coin, ethereum was created which we still use today.

Are you talking about the 51% attack that happened to ETC last year? It happens with a lot many of the smaller altcoins. More recently, Bitcoin Gold (BTG) came under such an attack (although the transactions were reversed within a few hours). In the case of ETC, a single individual was able to control 60% of the hash power, and initiated a number of "double spend" transactions.
4877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 13, 2020, 04:10:41 PM
BCCi is most rich board in cricket just because of this they have some strong influence on ICC but they have no power to stop any country from playing cricket but they are disturbing things very badly which is very bad political and economical influence happend in sports but not like this as they are doing right now just dual policy and dirty politics nothing else.

I am not a big fan of BCCI. It has been under the control of powerful politicians and businessmen, who care only about profits. But at the same time, it is not right to blame them for the cancellation of bilateral tours between India and Pakistan. In India, the public opinion is not in favor of any renewed sports relations with Pakistan. So there is not much the BCCI can do about it.

Sorry to say but you do not know anything about BCCI. Gone are those days when politicians and powerful eterprenures were controlling cricket in india. As of now, after the Supreme court's verdict BCCI is controlled by the veterans of Indian cricket team. Thise politicians and so called powerfull people were forced to resign. That is why BCCI has Sourav Ganguly as the chaiman rather an unknown name.

Just google it and you will know what changes have happened?

There have been some changes, but I don't necessarily agree with your post. Saurav Ganguly is the BCCI president and he is not affiliated to any political party (although he has been linked to the ruling party in the past). But politicians and businessmen still hold some of the important positions. For example, Rupa Gurunath (daughter of N Srinivasan) is the president of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA). Jay Shah, the son of Indian home minister is the secretary of BCCI and Arun Dhumal (brother of minister Anurag Thakur) is the treasurer.
4878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] How diversified are you in Altcoins in Q1 2020? on: February 13, 2020, 03:37:38 PM
I sold most of my alts back in 2018, so my portfolio doesn't have a large variety of different coins. However, during the past few days many of my remaining coins have gone up by up to 300%. For example, EBTC has gone up by 900% during the last two weeks. Deep Onion is another coin which has gone up during the last few weeks. It has gone up by 100% so far this week.
4879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is bigger than the rest of the crypto market combined on: February 13, 2020, 03:31:46 PM
unfortunately there are still many traders who understand that the current price movement of bitcoin can provide a lot of profit and usually those who cannot get this opportunity are people who are hesitant to enter to buy bitcoin.

The reason is that Bitcoin has already gone up considerably (by almost 250% during the last 9 months). A part of this bull run can be attributed to accumulation by whales, in anticipation of the block reward halving. In a few months from now, the block reward halving will occur, and no one is sure in which direction the prices will be moving after that.
4880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 13, 2020, 03:21:42 PM
It was a very close match. I thought it will go to super over but great balling and fielding by the South African team. Initially I felt that England will win the match, when Jason Roy was batting but, great balling by Lungi 3 wickets just for 30.
England was playing reckless shots in the end and they started loosing wickets, i am confused when all the players were holing out in the deep rather than going for ground shots and gaps they were all trying to clear the boundary and giving easy catches to the outfielders and in the last two overs South Africa bowled really well and the wicket of Morgan when they were near victory changed the match around, incredible performance by South Africa for winning the match even after a great performance by some of England batsman.

The problem with England was that their lower order batsmen failed to contribute, unlike what happened during the test series. During the test series, lower order and tail end batsmen such as Chris Woakes, Mark Wood and Stuart Broad contributed with bat and were able to build valuable partnerships. However, the squad for the T20 series doesn't feature most of these players.
