4881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin, Dogecoin Gain After Musk's Tweets, But Will There Be Another Bull Run? on: October 29, 2022, 08:09:02 PM
Dogecoin is a scam? I can tell you it has been around for almost 10 years and it even outlived a lot of other top coins. IOTA? I remember correctly it was also a potentially evaluated coin and now I don't see anyone mentioning it anymore, is it still alive? What project is MAXX finance, what do you say it will be better than doge, a new coin and such a fishy smell, how can you compare with doge?

I can tell you Dogecoin is NOT a scam. It's been around the crypto space for a pretty long time now. What I can tell you is that Dogecoin is not meant to be taken seriously because of the large number of coins in circulation. Even developers said so. I'd say DOGE has hold onto itself pretty well, even though other coins have died quickly. It may not retain its price for long, but it's certainly a fun little coin you can use for experimental purposes.

For some reason, DOGE has attracted the likes of Elon Musk and other popular figures (eg: Mark Cuban) in the mainstream world. Especially Mr. Musk who's been a staunch proponent of the "meme" coin lately. Anything he says could positively affect DOGE's price, so I wouldn't be surprised if the coin "pumps" after the next bull run. As long as you don't put all of your life savings into crypto, there should be nothing to worry about. Just my opinion Smiley

The rise in market exchange rate price for DOGE since Elon bought Twitter has been astounding.  I'm sure he's already made a small fortune off accepting DOGE for his "Burnt Hair" cologne earlier in the month.  It's up over 50% just in the last 24 hours.  There always seems to be something hyping DOGE, but as far as I can tell it's still seeing lower highs.  I question if this latest pump isn't just more of the same.  If the price doesn't break over $0.20, then I think we're still just seeing pump and dumps.  If it does get significantly over $0.20 and stays there, I could see it making a run for a new ATH on the news that Twitter will be implementing DOGE payments.
4882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What coins are profitable these days? on: October 29, 2022, 05:05:59 PM
Recently stop mining because is no longer profitable and came back here and maybe there is a new mineable coins are profitable to mine with nVidia GPU's?

ETH is already removed from the list because it's switching to POS.

Do you recommend any for 0.17kw/h electricity cost?

Not going to lie to you, that is a pretty high cost for electricity to try and be competitive mining. You could still mine if you needed the heat, and I would probably recommend mining “Etchash” on nicehash in order to earn some Bitcoin with your GPUs.

Whattomine.com is a good site to give you an idea what to expect from your miners, but you’re probably better off purchasing crypto instead of mining unless you need the heat.
4883  Economy / Goods / Re: Diamond, ruby without KYC or buy? on: October 29, 2022, 04:59:34 PM
Can't you get one locally? Which country do you live in? You will only find scammers here.

In France. No local merchant accepts payment in crypto in the surrounding area, moreover they risk asking for proof :-(.

Bitdials = KYC requirement I do not want to do KYC. Here is what I am looking for approximately: https://www.bitdials.eu/products/buy-original-certified-gia-diamond-2-01-1133689676-with-bitcoin-btc-monero-xmr-ether-eth-crypto-coins

with certificate of authenticity

Afterwards I can always buy on different forms of purity and grade color

For the ruby a beautiful one of about 1.50 carats (Pigeon blood) I also accept in other forms.

I saw that it's hard today to find someone to trust.

I personally think you would be better off using an exchange to sell your crypto and purchase whatever stones you're looking for locally from a reputable dealer.  That would likely be the cheaper route than having to pay someone on the internet to send you a stone.  That will leave you paying escrow fees, shipping fees, a fee to whoever is willing to do this for you, and then you're also taking a great deal of added risk as the person sending you the stone will likely not be as knowledgeable as you or they could be outright scammers that will waste your time, escrow fees and leave you wishing you had never been involved.
4884  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is hodling top 10 Marketcap coins a good tactic? on: October 29, 2022, 04:56:02 PM
I think diversification is important, so maybe selecting a few of the top 10 coins to add to your portfolio isn't a bad idea.  I personally own 4 of the current top 10 and have owned 6 of them at different points in time.  I also wouldn't restrict yourself to just the top 10 coins.  I would select 1 low market cap coin at least and maybe a couple in the ~20 range.  For example, Namecoin and MATIC are a couple of coins I've selected to hold in my crypto portfolio and while their performance hasn't inspired much as of late, I still believe that you can be pro-Bitcoin and still want crypto diversification.  That being said, an overwhelming majority of my crypto portfolio is BTC.
4885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 29, 2022, 04:49:26 PM
Tyrese Maxey really felt the zone. Even the heat checks are sinking in.
9 out of 12 three-point shots, 15/20 field goals, 44 points, his new career high, and possibly one of the best games of his career.
Maybe even the Raptors fans did love this kind of performance. For the 76ers fans, it's a good sight, they know there will be players that will step up their game while Embiid is resting his knee.

Sadly, they will be playing back-to-back with an exhausted body tomorrow but so is their opponent Chicago Bulls.

Yes, congrats to him making a career high, it's good that he was still with the Sixers, he really improved a lot and could be their future.

How about the game of Mitchell and Caris Levert? scoring 40+ points against the Boston Celtics and a win in Overtime? Not sure when was the last duo who score that big in Boston Garden. I thought that the Celtics will win this game as they have taken the majority of the lead in the 4th, but the Cavs handcuffed Jayson Tatum, mostly double teaming him forcing outside pass. Good win by the Cavs.

The Cavs are definitely making some noise out in Cleveland.  Mitchell is doing his part and getting them wins, Love looks rejuvenated and ready to make a strong effort out there (I believe he's in a contract year and trying to score a new deal) and the other guys are all coming along.  I think they've got the chance to win against anyone every night due to their size and now with Mitchell, scoring capability.  I doubt anyone expected them to start off 4-1 though.  They're outperforming and for gamblers, that's great to see.  Smiley  I'm not sure how long they'll be able to keep up this momentum though.  I believe they're just catching people off guard because it's a new look team with a lot of talent and size.  At some point the league will figure out how to beat them.
4886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: October 29, 2022, 04:46:16 PM
Right now, the people are divided because Jake and Silva made a bet in their press-conference saying that if Silva wins, there will be a second bout in a kickboxing fight and if Jake wins, he and Silva will start an association dedicated to help the MMA fighters who are receiving a much lower rate from Dana.

Is that so? Well, that changes some things because now, we cannot really say that these boxers/fighters had a pact because of their said agreement. Jake Paul is so vocal and is targeting Dana about the MMA fighters that are getting underpaid considering the risks they have to go just to have a fight, we all know that most of these fighters are still struggling to give their families a much comfortable life if they are just fighting once a year. It's such a good cause from a man that is hated for fighting washed-out fighters.

Ya, the entire fight feels like a promotion for their new venture now...  I don't think there's any way that Silva wins this fight, even if he was capable of and wanted to, I think he probably wants to be the president of this new organization.  It seems like it's already a done deal how everything is going to go.  That makes me want to avoid betting on this fight, because it doesn't pass the sniff test and I'm not sure everything is on the up and up.  If I were putting money down though, I'd be Jake all day.  Not because I think he's the better fighter, but because it seems like that's where this story is headed and it's so obvious that I'm not sure I want to take part.
4887  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Elon Buys Twitter - Project X (BlueSky / AT Protocol) on: October 29, 2022, 03:31:48 PM
Dogecoin is on an absolute tear as it seems like the market is expecting Elon to integrate payments into Twitter with Dogecoin being the preferred method. This is pretty huge if it happens and I’m sure Doge fans are over the moon right now. I think this is one of the more impressive stories in crypto at the moment and am very curious how Elon sets up crypto integration with Twitter and of Bitcoin will also be a highlighted option.

Chicago will surely win this game, they are at home and yet they are still a slight underdog.
That's questionable for me, I would stay away from this game. Bulls are at home and yet they are the underdog, for sure the public would take the Bulls so most likely it's just a trap and Sixers will again win this game. As per status, Embiid is questionable, but I have a feeling that he'll play.

It is a tough one. The 76ers are a good team and this Bulls team has a horrible record (last year) against good teams. The 76ers had a horrible start to the year though and the Bulls are at home… Also, the 76ers looked great in their last outing and got the win, so maybe they’re getting things figured out. Both teams played yesterday so the Bulls being at home while the 76ers are on a road trip may also be a factor. It could really go either way, but I tend to think the 76ers will keep their win streak going.

The market is holding up better than expected. I’m beginning to think that the bottom may be in the rear view. Every time I expect it to drop, it keeps going up. It seems like entities are fighting for cheap coins right now and I think the FTX stablecoin is a good sign that we’re going to be headed upward in the near future. I suspect that is the news that propelled the market up a little. I now wouldn’t be shocked if we ended the year at $13K or $30K.
4890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Crypto Gambling this year? on: October 29, 2022, 12:51:28 AM
Like a lot of the other replies I have to wonder why Stake isn't listed.  Surely they have to be one of the most common betting platforms.  They've sponsored some of the biggest names in the industry between their UFC fighters to Drake...  Even their social media is going on all sponsoring channels like NELK.  They've even made good progress bringing their platform to US gamblers.  While I'll admit I'm not currently using any other crypto gambling sites, there's good reason.  Stake is trustworthy and always manages to deliver a good experience.

I think this season Luka has a high chance of finally winning an mvp award, his stats is really impressive. Last two season is dominated by the Joker, so I think Luka will try to make his own name this season, hopefully he will continue to be healthy.

Although I believe that he will win the regular season MVP
We'll see if this is the season and time that's going to be his. We all know how talented Luka is but if it's going to be about the MVP regular season award, it's still going to be a long way for him and for the other prospects.

but his team is still not a championship team.
There were teams that are not championship teams but managed to get into the finals and win it like the Bucks. It's just all about one single attention to their superstar and the same could be with the Mavs.

It's still a bit early to be talking MVP, there are nine guys currently averaging over 30 points per game.  I think when that calms down a bit, if Luka is still the scoring leader then we can talk.  Giannis is having an amazing season already as well and if he can stay healthy he will definitely be in the MVP conversation.

For today's Lakers talk...  It looks like they're already starting to fall behind the Timberwolves...  The real game of the night for me will be the Suns vs the Pelicans on ESPN in just over an hour.  I'm hoping that Zion will play and is feeling better after his back injury from being fouled hard while driving to the basket earlier in the week.
4892  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 29, 2022, 12:44:14 AM
Mini bullrun?  Undecided
I think it is only a common increase, and the increase isn't so significant.
If Bitcoin price can survive above $20k throughout November, it is very possible that Bitcoin price won't drop to $18k - $19k again.
However, if there is big news about a recession in the next year, I guess Bitcoin may have a new ATL (below $17k).

On the contrary, it seems to me that Bitcoin is now finally out of the danger zone, which is a good indicator for October. It's hard for me to predict what will happen next year, but so far I see a positive trend in the current price direction. Hopefully in November the rise will continue and if bitcoin stays above 20.5k next week, we might really see a mini bull run.

It does feel like Bitcoin is out of the danger zone for now.  Assets have been rallying hard this week as it's starting to look like the United States might already be out of recession, signaling that the flight to safety which was being decimated by inflation might now be turning toward scooping up distressed assets.  The exceptions maybe being big tech like Amazon, Tesla, Meta, taking a massive hit in their values as investors are returning to a more normal environment.  I think a lot of money that came out of bonds was dumped into what people thought were safe stocks, and that led to the crash in some big name tech companies.
4893  Economy / Economics / Re: 23 Countries Now Abandoning US Dollar on: October 29, 2022, 12:41:07 AM
It's no secret that the dollar is losing it's global reserve currency status.  China, Iran, Russia, have all been passing laws to open up crypto as a means of exchange and for years they've been accumulating assets like gold to give their currencies more legitimacy when compared to the dollar.  I have no doubt that in the future something like Bitcoin will act as a means of exchange in order to make a more fair global financial system where one country doesn't see most of the benefit of being able to print the reserve currency that others need in order to participate in global markets.  This is the bull case for Bitcoin.
4894  Economy / Economics / Re: Why exactly did Elon want to buy Twitter? on: October 29, 2022, 12:38:44 AM
Seems it’s official. However I am puzzled as to why he bought it in the first place.

For one he overpaid for it because looking at tech stocks like Facebook, it’s value would be probably less than $20 a share compared to the $54.20 he paid for it. So he really must have a big interest in it.

Anyone know why? Is it because they banned Trumps account? Is it because it’s censored too much and he wants it to be more decentralized ?

The reason he gave was that he wanted people to have an open town square where they could communicate freely without censorship leaning to one political party.  In reality, he thinks that Twitter is the perfect tool to build out for an "everything" app.  He's stated that he wants to make Twitter like WeChat in China, where it handles payments, booking, communication, pretty much everything you need.  By taking Twitter private now, he was also able to cash out a lot of his stock in Tesla at the peak, and diversify his holdings into Twitter, which he believes he will take public again in around 5 years, probably cashing out a pretty penny in the process.
4895  Economy / Economics / Re: House is a forced saving on: October 29, 2022, 12:36:20 AM
The reason people say that owning a home is forced saving is because most people don't save at all.  Paying down the principle on a loan while maintaining the value of the asset like real estate does, builds equity, which for a lot of people is their only form of wealth.  History has shown that you would do better to invest in the stock market, but most people are afraid of the stock market, while owning a home is typically a source of pride.  I'm not against owning a home, but you should own a home if you want to live there a long time or think you're getting a great deal.  Saving more money in a 401K or just investing regularly will over time build more wealth.
4896  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 28, 2022, 08:48:17 AM
Looking like $20K might not hold for long. Maybe we’ll see another leg down to squeeze the bulls and set a nice bear trap. With FTX saying they’re developing their own stablecoin, I think there’s potential for several billion dollars to be injected into the market suddenly. It seems like FTX’s savy trading practices are helping to stabilize the 4 year cycle while making Sam insanely wealthy.
4897  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Watford Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: October 28, 2022, 08:43:25 AM
Unfortunately for me, when I try to join via VPN it doesn't load up games, it means that without VPN I can't open up the website, and with VPN I can't open up the games, with this logic I would not be able to gamble at stake at all, basically stake is telling me to go play somewhere else normally. But, the reality is that I tried using ToR and that works, or I tried certain paid VPN's and that works as well.

Basically, you have to overwork to make it happen and that’s the tough challenge. I always say that stake needs to fix their situation, it’s a good wbesite but needs a lot better VPN friendly approach to their casino, it would really bring in a lot of people.
I think the many mirror links that have been provided by stake.com are enough to meet the need for many blocks from ISPs and so on.
It's strange that you're having problems using a VPN because I didn't experience it, instead using the Tor browser made me unable to fully open stake.com, but it would be better to access it via a mirror link instead of a VPN to avoid unwanted things

I’ve also noticed times when the TOR browser won’t let you through the login process. It’s usually resolved at some point if you are patient. I’m glad that they are strict with their practices to help open up as many betting opportunities as is legal for them to do. Hopefully someday betting on sports will be internationally legal for everyone so that time isn’t wasted on adhering to regulations.
4898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anderson Silva vs Jake paul who you bet on? on: October 28, 2022, 08:39:11 AM
I was stunned upon reading the op and its betting market showing Anderson Silva is slim favorite over Jake Paul. Updated betting market I found at Moonbet is showing Jake Paul now takes the lead at 1.75 over Anderson Silva at 2.0.

So Anderson Silva is now the underdog just like what many of us here are imagining. Anderson Silva has nice boxing skills but at 47 years old, I am questioning his ability to last long. I mean, how is his stamina gonna survive? Many people are laughing on the career of Jake Paul but he is just young and developing. And in his training, he looks committed even if he fightin' non boxers.

I saw some bets right now in the listing of all bets in some gambling casino and yes most of the people right now are trying to bet for Jake Paul and I guess the underdog right now in term of bets is Silva but it is just a an initial bet before the match came there's a chance that the players might change their bet before the close bets happens.

Yes, that it correct, Anderson Silva is the underdog and that shouldn't be surprises us all. He is old already and way past his prime, but can still hold his own in this fight.

But if you are talking about sentimental favorites, then I would say that Silva will be our favorite because we wanted him to beat the arrogant Jake Paul. Although Jake is respectful in this fight and wouldn't hear anything negative from him regarding his opponents, still though majority of us didn't like his personality or how he started this whole exhibition match hype.

Even in their press conference it seemed like they already were expecting Jake Paul to win. They basically announced a new organization to provide better health care to UFC fighters and Anderson Silva will be the President if he loses. If Silva wins then Jake will kickbox him. Silva seemed well aware of what will happen when he loses and I’m sure he doesn’t want to fight again, even kickboxing. I may toss a few bucks on Paul.

Did someone know what is the motherboard requirement for the GPU to work? I mean I tried it on older H61 and H81 Pro Btc motherboards but it didn't work. On AMD B450 it is working perfectly.

When you did get it working on the AMD B450 motherboard, what was your take on the temperature and noise of the fan. I’ve read on these forums that people are having problems with them overheating a great deal but I haven’t seen enough people comment their experiences to know if these cards are something that should be avoided due to heat issues.
4900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 28, 2022, 12:23:31 AM
We talk about the Lakers far too much on here lol.  I know they've got the second greatest player of all time (Jordan is number for those of you who don't know any better  Cheesy ) and he's quite polarizing, but I for one am excited that there's other teams besides the LA Lakers who are looking exciting this year and have a lot of potential who normally don't year after year (like the Lakers).

The Lakers are the only team with good drama, mostly because their problems are all their own doing. We also talk a lot about the Nets for the same reason. Speaking of the Nets, Ben Simmons just airballed a layup. I’ve never seen that before… On one hand, at least he shot the ball from inside the key. On the other hand, he clearly has some serious mental issues he’s trying to work through as he’s still missing shots that most 3rd graders could easily make.
