4881  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much Bitcoin price Expected end of this year on: February 02, 2019, 11:37:07 AM
My opinion is that bitcoin will reach this year 10,000$ but this is just my thought and i can't say 100% this will be the price or higher or just much lower, but i think after Bakkt the price will increase.

That is too damn high to be reached considering the point we are right now. There are many more to happen if you want to see the price get trippled within a year. And also people have seen the up and down and they are now more afraid to be involved in cryptocurrencies. Volatility can hit them hard and have a negative impact in their financials. Thus, investors' segment has been shrunk compared to early 2018.
4882  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the Bitcoin is still down? on: February 02, 2019, 11:30:15 AM
Personally, I think that mass adoption is going to push the prices up and reach a new ATH. As the supply is limited, by increasing the demand for Bitcoin is going to have a significant positive effect in its price. We should try to integrate Bitcoin as a way of payment method in e-commerce businesses at first. This is very easy and it can show results directly to the market.
4883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What currencies do you gamble with? on: February 02, 2019, 09:20:22 AM
Using bitcoin as the currency for gamble will be a good choice but this will only for people who own a large amount of bitcoin. But for me, rather than using bitcoin, I prefer to use dogecoin because, besides the cheap of the price, the transaction is fast and don't need to take a long time to receive. So far, I am very satisfied using dogecoin for the bet, and I don't want to use bitcoin because bitcoin is too worth for me for just the bet.

You have a point but don't forget that you get what you gamble. If you gamble with Bitcoins there are many chances of earning more Bitcoins thus being more profitable. I don't think that you have the same opportunities with dogecoin as I don't expect that the price of DOGE is going to increase the same as Bitcoin's will do in the future.
4884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: AMA (Ask Me Anything): The current state of Bitcoin in the Philippines 🇵🇭 on: February 02, 2019, 09:11:59 AM
*snip*

Don't get me wrong though, earning money is great; because who doesn't want money right? But unfortunately there's little to no interest outside monetary reasons.

Hah. Unfortunately I haven't met other passionate people yet. I would definitely love to meet people that are also into this space, but at the same time, I really wouldn't like to publicly disclose that I hold bitcoin or cryptocurrencies in general. The last thing I would want is to be held at gunpoint for my bitcoin LOL.

I agree that no one wants to disclose such information about how many money he holds etc. However, I am not afraid to tell anybody that I am involved in cryptocurrencies. I think it is better to say that in order to attract more people into the ecosystem. Is there any specific reason you are afraid of? For example, was there any incident in the Philippines similar to this event?
4885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: February 02, 2019, 09:04:33 AM
They look good together, who do you think will become the main man in the team?

https://www.theringer.com/nba/2019/1/31/18206127/kristaps-porzingis-mavericks-trade-luka-doncic

Porzingis is a great player but he will not reach the level of Doncic. Doncic is still young and has shown that he can be a great player and an NBA all-star. Given that, he is going to be the main man on the team.

If Porzingis will be ever selected for the main player, it will be because Doncic will leave Mavericks.
4886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's the *easiest* profitable betting strategy? on: February 02, 2019, 09:00:17 AM
I used to play dice in online casinos and apply the martingale technique. In the beginning, I had some profit but as the time went by I started losing and losing and I wasn't able to cover my initial bet.
Now I am trying something like the same but differently. I pick a big football club and I bet that it will lose. If I lose my bet, I double it and so on.
Martingale is not a good way to earn the easiest profit yet you can lose your funds faster than playing it with a smaller bet. Martingale is just good when the odds are upon you but not a good strategy if you are losing. It makes it worst in the long run so I wouldn't suggest that.

Just look for a better odds the team and bet some 60% of your main funds or so.

When you bet on 50%-50% then the odds are equal. You can increase your chances in dice by choosing a wider range of number where your bet is profitable. It is up to you what the odds you are playing will be. If you try to have a small profit then you can increase the bet. But if you chance bigger profits then the odds are bigger. The strategy doesn't change however...
4887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 01, 2019, 08:27:42 PM
In case anyone missed the Deadline Day, these were some of the most relevant (at least to me) deals of the day:

  • Denis Suarez (Barcelona) to Arsenal.
  • Miguel Almirón (Atlanta United) and Antonio Barreca (AS Monaco) to Newcastle.
  • Peter Crouch (Stoke City) to Burnley.
  • N'Koudou (Tottenham) to AS Monaco
  • Mitroglou (Olympique de Marseille) to Galatasaray.
  • Fellaini (Manchester United) to Shandong Luneng.
  • Giovinco (Toronto FC) to Al-Hilal.
  • Adrien Silva (Leicester City) to AS Monaco.
  • Todibo (Toulouse) to Barcelona.
  • Youri Tielemans (AS Monaco) to Leicester City.
  • Shinji Kagawa (Dortmund) to Besiktas.
  • Yannick Bolasie (Everton) to Anderlecht
  • Batshuayi (Chelsea) to Crystal Palace.
[/b]
  • Lazar Markovic (Liverpool) to Fulham.

I really can't understand why Chelsea doesn't give a chance for this amazing player Michi Batsuayi. He is a hard worker and he has scored goals in crucial games for Chelsea. Still, the team keeps sending him on loan in teams that he cannot develop his skills further. I hope Batsuayi will make a good season in Palace and get a good transfer to a big club.

We all know that Nadal's strength is clay and there are years wherein he was really unbeatable on clay court. So I think he is still the man to beat in French Open. However, we have seen Djokovic emerges and young prospects coming out of the shadows although they really choke on big tournaments, I wouldn't be surprise for another Nadal vs Djokovic finals in Roland Garros 2019.

If this happens and Nadal is again on his A game I will try to watch the final in RG. Tickets aren't cheap but it's definitely worth it.

RG is a great experience especially if you are blessed to see Rafa Nadal's game. Some year ago I was lucky to be in France and I went to the court to see a game that Nadal was playing. It was one of the best pieces of experience I have in my entire life.

4890  Economy / Speculation / Re: POLL: Did we hit the bottom? on: February 01, 2019, 08:14:58 PM
Many people said that the bottom was at 6k.
Now there are a lot of people that we have already hit the bottom around 3.5k but I don't agree with that. As we are facing a stagnant market at around that price we are imminent of a risk of dropping more. I believe the actual bottom right now is around 1.7k and if the market will not rise during Q1 we are very close to see this new bottom in the future.
4891  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency lending business. on: February 01, 2019, 08:07:23 PM
Cryptocurrency loans emerged as an increasingly viable alternative to borrowing loans. What do you think about the cryptocurrency lending business?

https://news.bitcoin.com/genesis-capital-processed-1-1b-of-cryptocurrency-loans-in-2018/

I think this is still not the time for such businesses to grow. It is very risky as these companies can be easily scammed due to different regulations among the countries of their counterparts. Due to this fact, these companies are very profitable right now. When demand goes high and the supply is less they can increase the rates they are asking and make more earnings.
4892  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency - future? on: February 01, 2019, 03:43:53 PM
It is quite obvious that cryptocurrency will become a common means of payment, such as Paypal, WebMoney and others. Only with its advantages or vice versa.  Roll Eyes

If we need to reach this level, we need to follow some steps. First of all there all still some technical parts that need to be adjusted and fixed. Bitcoin's lightning network is on the correct path. Also, buyin cryptocurrency needs to be easier and with more common procedures for the users. Right now, it is very hard to buy and uncertainty makes this environment harder to thrive.
4893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: February 01, 2019, 03:34:16 PM
Copa del Rey semi-finals:

• Real Betis vs Valencia
Barcelona vs Real Madrid

And we have El Clásico in the semi finals of the league cup. First leg will be at the Camp Nou next week (wednesday), 2nd leg will be in 3 weeks on the 27th of this month in Madrid, and 3 days later, they'll meet again at the Santiago Bernabeu for the league match.

The last time these two teams met in a league cup semi final was in 2013...who advanced to the final? Real Madrid, who then lost against Atletico Madrid 2-1.

It is better to see them in the semi-finals so another team will have the opportunity of chasing the title. I am bored to see always Real and Barca fighting for the titles, Cups and Championships. I believe that Barcelona is going to qualify to the final. It seems to me that they are more completed and Real seems unstable after Ronaldo left even after a half season.
4894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Khabib and Conor fines and suspensions on: February 01, 2019, 02:52:41 PM
This is a follow up as to what had happened when this two met in the ring a couple of months ago. We all know that Khabib went after Conor's team after he won the fight.

Khabib Nurmagomedov receives nine-month suspension, $500K fine for role in UFC 229 brawl

Quote
On Tuesday’s meeting of the Nevada Athletic Commission, a five-member committee voted in favor of a settlement agreement that will see Nurmagomedov receive a nine-month suspension and a $500,000 fine for his involvement in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl. The suspension can be reduced by up to three months pending Nurmagomedov’s participation in an anti-bullying public service announcement that must be approved by the NAC.

Conor McGregor receives six-month suspension, fined $50,000 for role in UFC 229 brawl
Quote
Conor McGregor will be eligible for his return to the Octagon on April 6 having received a six-month suspension for his role on the UFC 229 post-fight fracas.

On Tuesday, five members of the National Athletic Commission voted in favor of a settlement agreement that will see McGregor fined $50,000 and receive a six-month suspension. McGregor’s suspension will be retroactive to Oct. 6, 2018, allowing him to compete again by Apr. 6.

Do you think it's fair that Khabib will be fined $500K + suspension? His $2 mil purse is still withheld up to now. Conor received $50K fined only. Or is this fair since Khabib is the one who started all this issue?

Sound like an unfair decision to me. I believe that the punishment for both of them should be equal or McGregor should be fined and get a bigger suspension. The trash talk that he did before the game was the incentive for this outcome in the game. Khabib is good to be fined as well due to his unprofessional behavior but the punishment for Connor is so so small.
4895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: February 01, 2019, 12:18:00 PM
Barca just smashed Sevilla 6:1 in second leg game of Copa del Rey - this team have big balls! Offcourse, there was some nervous moments, like Banega missed penalty, or 10-15 minutes after Sevilla goal. But in general it was amazing performance. Last goal of Barca was absolute masterclass.
We already know 3 semifinalists of Copa - it's Valencia, Betis and Barca. All three 1/4 final second leg games was amazing to watch. Real also close to reach semifinal - they won 4:2 at home. But they can't be 100% confident, because 2 away goals of Girona is important factor.

Barcelona showed what they can achieve this year. The squad seems solid taking a lot of opportunities to score. I personally want to see better performance from Luiz Suarez. I think he still hasn't reached the top of his performance with Barcelona (as he did when he was playing along with Neymar).  After this game, I don't think they will have any problem accomplishing a Double this season.
4896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: February 01, 2019, 12:14:03 PM
Liverpool failed to maximize their chances to distance points from Manchester City because they were only able to draw against Leicester City, while Chelsea have had poor results because they lost with a big score against AFC Bournemouth. The results of the match are of course uncomfortable for bettors.

I don't agree that these results are uncomfortable. I usually bet against big clubs and try to double my bet. There are times (such the ones this weekend) that big clubs don't win, thus the odds against them gives more profits. This strategy is a good one if you can a lot of money to continue doubling your bet till they lose.
I am curious to know how often you win? If you lose two bets then you are basically losing your capital. Predicting the big team to lose may not work all the time so you do lose a lot?

When you lose a bet you double it to the next and you keep going until the best against the strong team comes true. You can also try the same strategy when betting for the team go even in the game but the odds are usually less.
It is a difficult strategy because you have to have a big amount of capital, otherwise you are going to nowhere with it.

4898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any valid reason to continue gambling? on: January 31, 2019, 10:56:20 AM
As the title itself, I’m thinking about the valid reason why gamblers continue to gamble even if they are losing a lot of money. Is it hard to understand that gambling will just make your money lose if you still continue?

So many addiction stories, people shares their losing experience and yet you are still gambling. The more you play the bigger the chance to lose the money. What is your reason to continue? Are you willing to chase your loses despite of the risk?

Chase to fall? 🧐 - (Not a photo of mine, just for an illustration of being greed)

I see gambling as a way of entertainment and only as that. I gamble small amounts of money and I don't risk my heritage when I am gambling. I think if you have self-control then why not gamble? You are testing your luck while having fun together and who knows you may probably get a huge amount that will give you the opportunity to invest in something that you love.
4899  Economy / Economics / Re: Opinions about the emergence of new Coins on: January 31, 2019, 10:49:48 AM
Cryptocurrency or crypto currency is increasingly recognized by many in the world. You know, block chain technology is growing day by day, not a few new crypto are emerging.

Question:
1. What do you think of new coins / tokens that keep appearing
2. What is the positive impact of this new coin on Bicoin
3. What are the benefits for traders with the emergence of these new coins?

Many of the new coins and tokens try to get an advantage of the cryptocurrency hype that exists.
Of course, there are some that have a true application in the real world but people are afraid to invest in them due to the regulations that exist for these companies. I think that these new coins bring more capital to the Bitcoin market but when a bubble blows (because of many of them are scams) the price drops significantly.
4900  Economy / Economics / Re: Perfect example of why governments must hold Bitcoin on: January 31, 2019, 09:16:04 AM
There is a huge difference between gold and bitcoin right now. Gold has a stable value and bitcoin has a fluctuating value. There is no application of bitcoin in your specific example. I would agree that bitcoin could provide an easier and freer way of withdrawing the money that was stored but for the time being, these two commodities are not the same.
