4881  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Merit Dashboard on: June 18, 2021, 07:50:44 AM
As @Rikafip stated, the merit/post tab does have the count for all boards (per board, not overall aggregate).

Hm, now you got me confused. Doesn't that "Total" number at the bottom of the table shows overall aggregate? So for example, May total is 189,483 posts?

Aggregate awarded sMerit for the last complete week (07/06/2021 .. 13/06/2021) is 4.701, which is up 9,06% from the previous week.
Nice to see the increase, but when looking at the total amount of merit shared during June (in first ~17 days), I have a feeling that we might see yet another all time low (current ATL is April with 15551). Only 6982 merits shared and 13 days left, so unless there is some sudden increase, total number won't be good at all.
4882  Economy / Reputation / Re: Hero today, it's been all fun right from the start. on: June 18, 2021, 07:01:51 AM
Congrats  @Charles-Tim, Hero rank well deserved, now onto the next one! It's nice to see a member that is improving constantly, and that is applying suggestion on how he can increase his posting quality.

Onwards and upwards, and may the gods of RNG be with you when you reach minimum activity needed for Legendary rank. Cheesy

4883  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Merit Dashboard on: June 18, 2021, 06:52:07 AM

I see you have renamed "Post Count Evolution" into "Local Board Post Count Evolution". Now I cannot find anymore the total number of posts in a single month in the whole forum. Can you suggest how can  I source this information on the dashboard?

I don't know if there are other ways, but you can see total number of posts in "Merit per Post" table, just select the specific month that you wanna see and scroll all the way to the bottom. This is the link for the last month https://public.tableau.com/shared/KH743FHWS?:display_count=n&:origin=viz_share_link
4884  Other / Archival / Re: is simantobd account changed ownership? Lets find out.. on: June 15, 2021, 03:16:47 PM
Yeah, sorry for me trying to avoid some newbie getting scammed. Its me who should be targeted here.
I am not targeting you, I am just saying that what you provided as evidence is very flimsy. It would be a completely different thing if for example @simantobd wrote in lets' say Croatian (my language), and then after the break he suddenly started writing in Chinese, or vice versa. Then I would agree with you that there is something dodgy going on.

The way you can protect people is if you express those concerns in the thread and warn people to use escrow when dealing with @simantobd or simply leave him neutral rating explaining the issue.
4885  Other / Archival / Re: is simantobd account changed ownership? Lets find out.. on: June 15, 2021, 01:47:42 PM
user - simantobd
profile - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1255073

Can he provide ownership of telegram ID @simanto1
Can he provide ownership of Twitter username:wordcoin3
Can he sign a message with wallet 1McW6DNMu9ADYX68iwzZsxd2VMTuam6
He doesn't have to provide squat. Since you are claiming that account changed the owner, its you who has to prove that, burden of proof is on the one that makes the claim.

There are some red flags and since he ignored my PM about these questions I dont think so.
Do you have any more proof, beside that thing he some time ago he went afk and when he came back he started selling some stuff, as that's pretty weak.
4886  Other / Meta / Re: {LIST}of the Merit Sources asking for more smerit. New Round. on: June 15, 2021, 08:48:20 AM
Are there any changes in merit circulation in the last couple of months? I didn't see any new sources and few left/inactive.

Looking at last couple of months, there is change, but for the worse unfortunately. For example, since introduction of merit system, there were only four months during which merit shared across the forum was below 16,000 mark, and out of those four months, three were this year ( March, April and May).  Another example to show generally negative trend; from October 2020 up until May 2021, amount of merit shared was constantly reducing, with each consecutive month having less amount of merit shared than the previous one. May barely stopped that trend, with 251 more merits hared than during April.

So yeah, it might the time for theymos to revaluate current merit situation and hopefully either increase merit to current merit sources, or appoint news ones. Or maybe even both.

4887  Other / Meta / Re: Is The Purpose of The Merit System Defeated? on: June 14, 2021, 08:27:36 PM
Please sir, I am just few weeks old in this platform, help me to grow. Thank you sir.
In two weeks since you created this account, you managed to make 12 threads. This has to be some kind of record.

Then why are you already posting in Meta? If you're not the slightest bit interested in learning about or discussing Bitcoin, you should probably leave.
He clearly said what's his goal in this forum in his first post here. He came for merit, and consequently spot in the signature campaign. As I told him in that first topic he created, he is simply fishing too hard for merit, and that will bite him in the ass.

For the newbie, I believe most of us are sharing in my wish. My wish to become a legend, a legend with so much merits and positive trust
4888  Other / Meta / Re: Is The Purpose of The Merit System Defeated? on: June 14, 2021, 02:14:44 PM
You must be crazy if you think moderators have enough time to investigate all posts from newbies, and btw you are also a newbie who is trying to write some suggestion bs posts just to earn some merit.
So fake and lame... one more goes on Ignore list.
We are now getting this on a daily basis, newbie accounts with very limited bitcointalk forum experience, suggesting changes that were asked numerous times before. How crazy is that, to think that you can give some solid advice to forum staff after few weeks of being active on the forum. Meh...
4889  Local / Announcements (Hrvatski) / Re: Punkcoin - Buntovnik medju kriptovalutama on: June 14, 2021, 10:15:57 AM

4890  Local / Announcements (Hrvatski) / Re: Punkcoin - Buntovnik medju kriptovalutama on: June 14, 2021, 05:47:22 AM
Posto si iskusan i vrsan prevoditelj, ovo ces sigurno razumjeti

Bumps, "updates" are limited to once per 24 hours per thread

4891  Other / Meta / Re: RECOMMENDATION FOR GENERATING FUNDS on: June 13, 2021, 04:42:26 PM
OP, you just registered on bitcointalk a few days ago and already you think you have some brilliant suggestions on how it should run?  GTFO of here, seriously.  Posts made by members like you immediately ring the alt account alarm bells, because most people aren't so high on themselves that they join a forum/group/organization/whatever and start by trying to change it--unless they're complete narcissists or, in this case, aren't who they appear to be.
+1.

Yet another pathetic merit fishing attempt made by @Emanuelaeventr, after that drivel about some sort of forum academy for newbies (lol). What he obviously doesn't understand is that he is pushing it too hard and it reeks of desperation which is the reason why his merit fishing tactic won't work. Brand new account giving advices on how forum he just joined should operate? Yeah right, genuine newbie my ass.
4892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 13, 2021, 03:46:11 PM
I think nobody consider Croatia as potential contenders to win EURO 2020, I think even most people from Croatia don't have such expectations. They're going to fight for 2nd place in group most likely with Czech Republic and it's not going to be easy.
True, people in Croatia don't see us as one of the contenders (me included) as it's not the same team as it was in Russia but still I expected from players like Modric, Brozovic and Kovacic to control the middle, but I guess that was too much to ask Cheesy. Regarding England, they don't look any better than they were in previous years.

Generally, for us goal is always to reach the 2nd round, and anything above that is bonus. This year is no exception.

Modric was the only outstanding player in the Croatian side today he was dishing out accurate passess all over the pictch however his team mates played badly
Yep. Unfortunately, he can't do everything by himself. Vrsaljko was especially bad, by far the worst player on the pitch, followed by the completely lost Brozovic.
4893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 13, 2021, 03:30:49 PM
I forgot how really good this England squad is on paper.  I haven’t checked the outright lines yet but they could be one of the favorites to win it..  Prolly right up there with Belgium and maybe Germany and France?
After watching them today against Croatia, I honestly don't see how they can win Euro. I mean, we (Croatia) were absolutely horrendous, basically all team beside maybe Modric and one or two players were utter shit. Best of all, by some projections it's even better to finish 2nd in the group, and avoid some tough teams in the next round, so not all is lost for Croatia, but after what I saw today I am not the optimist at all.

Gonna miss Austria vs North Macedonia and then watch Netherlands vs Ukraine.
4894  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Mjesečna Analiza za Hrvatsku Lokalnu Zajednicu (Bitcointalk Croatian) on: June 13, 2021, 03:26:27 PM
Mlade snage napadaju.

4895  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Mjesečna Analiza za Hrvatsku Lokalnu Zajednicu (Bitcointalk Croatian) on: June 13, 2021, 09:52:45 AM

4896  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal to Forum Academy Trainee on: June 13, 2021, 08:49:56 AM
When I first registered here, posting photos was the furthest thing from my mind, and I'd be suspicious of any newbie that absolutely needs to post pics right away.  Most likely he's trying to promote something and for whatever reason is targeting the bitcointalk community.
Exactly this.

It's like we don't have enough social platforms that are swarmed with videos, images and gifs, and now we need the same thing here on bitcointalk. I can only imagine the amount of mess if every single brand new account is able to share the image (considering the fact that vast majority of new account are made for abusing bounty campaigns, or some other similarly dodgy stuff) and as other before me said, it would be an oversized one, since newbies (and often even more experienced members) don't pay attention to that.

4897  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal to Forum Academy Trainee on: June 11, 2021, 04:17:30 PM
Before posting this topic I have made some research and I find out that newbies are not allowed to post pictures. I see the barrier to be too much.
And how exactly is posting images crucial to your form activity that you can't wait to become Jr Member, which if you are legit member shouldn't take more than a month or two. The only situation in which I see being able to post images right from the start is if you wanna promote some business or service, and in that case you might consider paying for copper membership which will remove some of the Newbie restrictions

Some newbies who actually may not know this might make the mistake and post link and has their account ban. It will be a good Idea if there can be an alternative to my proposals
Newbies getting banned just because posting some harmless link? First time I hear about this.
4898  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: June 11, 2021, 02:55:43 PM

The difference is significant. And the behavior of the graph in the first picture is too unnatural.
Yeah I know about the differences, and I am aware of the numbers on ninjastic.space, I check them every month while making that list of the most active users per local board. I said in one of my previous posts when I gonna start using ninjastic.space for the post count. Until then, plan is to stick with Merit Dashboard. Smiley
4899  Other / Meta / Re: This thing with the accounts' farming has to stop... on: June 10, 2021, 09:18:03 AM
I don’t want to post a new thread, so let me ask you how you would feel about a merit source that gives merit to explicitly farm accounts?
I know that you are well versed and can distinguish between alternate accounts, so I just suggest taking a look at this topic and see how the source of merit distributes the merit to Newbies.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5294824.40
Generally I am careful when sending a merit to a newbie, but then again I have very limited amount of merit so it makes it much easier for me to do something like that. I do agree that there was an obvious account farm active in that thread, but not everyone cares about checking accounts prior sending merit, especially if they have bigger monthly allocation.

I cannot yet prove that newcomers to this topic are breaking anything, but that this is a  farm, I think there is no doubt.
Yep, that it is an account farm without a doubt, but as you said, so far they haven't started doing bounty, shilling in threads or any of the other typical stuff they do. Sooner or later they will probably start doing something as you don't make bunch of accounts for no purpose.

My guess is that person behind those sock puppet accounts saw that there is some merit being shared in that topic, so he tried his luck with couple of accounts. Some got merit, some didn't.

And if you pay attention, today those accounts are active that Merit's source awarded a merit in that topic. Did he give them a start in life?
Thing is, even if you occasionally give some fake Newbie account merit or two (which is bound to happen if you are merit source and like to give merit to Newbies) in the grand scheme of things it doesn't mean much, as shitposter will have a hard time reaching  higher ranks so I think that's why no one cares much about it.
4900  Other / Meta / Re: Can moderators be asked to close threads of banned accounts? on: June 10, 2021, 08:25:27 AM

If people know that their messages can be deleted, then it will be unprofitable for them to write platitudes.
And people will figure that out after their posts gets deleted enough time. In the 2nd example of yours, user @Delightcrypto1 bumped thread that was inactive for couple of months. I reported the post (that got deleted pretty fast, ) for bumping inactive thread but while waiting for post to gets deleted, few more were written, and conversation went on.

Can we complain to the moderators that the messages that come after the warning that the OP is banned are low-level messages? The topic is no longer relevant and the person who asked will not read the answers, but people, without reading it, just post the same thing.
Imho, best is to simply report post or two, just to try it out. And if its marked as good, then continue doing do.
