4881  Economy / Services / Re: Paypal ---> bitcoin exchange 5% on: April 05, 2020, 02:32:56 AM
H! bitcointalk, i have 0.92 bitcoins
I want to exchange my bitcoins for paypal, I accept payment as for a product or service
I won’t go first because I risk it and not you, you can always make a chargeback, so I’ll ask you to provide some evidence.

add my telegram - @denigme
You really need to use an escrow and also do not do this trade in one transactions rather separate it by several parts like maximum 200$ in one transaction. Always trade with someone trusted coz you are taking the risk here since once the crypto is gone you can not reverse it but with paypal you always have this hesitation.
4882  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: If I use the real GPG verified electrum, am I vulnerable to fake updates? on: April 05, 2020, 01:49:02 AM
Then possibly I messed up something. I can clearly recall once or few times I guess, I have seen the pop up that was asking to update but I did not proceed from there. And if this was at that time when there was a vulnerable code in the server then I was lucky I guess.

Anyway, this is what my current setup and as far as I can remember I am practicing this from long time.

On a side note, maybe the should include a note in that dialog to remember to verify the download! Huh
I am on the same page here. This will create a caution for the users and users will be encouraged to take verification seriously.

Yeah, It was Migrant disaster due to petty politics, ego and lack of responsibility, i covered this here before when we were talking about " Power of media"

After media outrage Delhi and UP's Govs already took necessary steps and this situation got resolved with in 48 hours (Almost). Around million or so staying in Delhi and remaining went to their homes.
There is always someone to blame in every where including the place I live. Yeah, media are worse, governments do not care (possibly they do not have the resources) but if the citizens are aware and take this pandemic seriously then rest of the things are very easy.

Stay at home, keep social distance
Those who have enough give some to those who are in need
Spread awareness.

If anyone is saying that it's not going to affect them because of this and that, then they are wrong. You do not want to take steps after you face the same which America, Italy are facing right now.

I know a lot of you are from India. Just stay safe.
4884  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: If I use the real GPG verified electrum, am I vulnerable to fake updates? on: April 05, 2020, 01:32:02 AM
It's not an "instant auto update"... you get a notification that a new version is available, and clicking on it will lead you to the "standard" electrum.org download page.

https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/blob/5d4f8f316480776eb78d98ea9ac9c3b2a05ef01d/electrum/gui/qt/update_checker.py#L21

You are still advised to do the verification even if you have the update notification on.
You got me there. Bad choice of words from me. I have seen few time the pop up to notify but never proceeded from there so my understanding was that it will do the update in the system like other apps do, if I click on the button that triggers the update.

Good to know that it takes to the official site to do things manually. Yeah, signature verification is the most important part for me always.
4885  Other / Meta / Re: account banned no reason [need help with an explanation] on: April 05, 2020, 01:21:32 AM
this is only a temporary account
Well I hope you ar aware that you can not post to any other board accept in this topic or this will be considered as ban evasion and this account will be banned too.

Answering your question, possibly any mod can give you a better answer whoever there are some users who are very good at finding reasons of ban accounts, possibly they will come up with something for you.

It could be.. Word is BCCI considering mini IPL. Not sure how to react as COVID-19 situation is not good right now.
I read some news about India and it did not look good to me. The country is over populated and not everyone is willing to stay at home especially those who do not have any food at home. This is really not good for the country and in this situation I do not think any of the overseas players and their board will be taking risk to send their player in India unless this corona disappears fully from every corner of the word.

Good luck however.

PS: Try Lauda, suchmoon  :-P
Possibly the girls around
4888  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: If I use the real GPG verified electrum, am I vulnerable to fake updates? on: April 05, 2020, 12:58:15 AM
So assuming I only get newer versions of electrum by comparing file hashes contained in GPG signed keys, is there any way a stock electrum installation could be fooled into showing a fake update screen? Assuming that electrum even has any update screens coded into it, because if it doesn't, then I guess all such dialogs should not be trusted. What should I do in a situation like that?
I go with the old fashioned way. I uncheck the auto update option in my Electrum and when there are any new update, I just uninstall my current Electrum and then download the newer version, verify the application file and then install it.

The instant auto update is very easy but I somehow do not feel secure about it.
4889  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam]: Bitcoin Doubler - https://bit2.to/ on: April 04, 2020, 12:46:38 PM
Good catch buddy. It's a sad thing that these doubler scammers are still in operation and search engines are failing to spot them. I owe you some merit.
4890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk PSL T20 Pool and discussion. on: April 03, 2020, 07:54:30 PM
First of all, there are no cricket matches ongoing in any part of the globe. Not even street cricket. Lockdowns are being imposed in every nook and corner of this planet and only one or two sports leagues are ongoing now (the ones that come to my mind are the Belarussian Premier League football competition and the Super Basketball League of Taiwan). So if you want live cricket, then unfortunately I can't help.

Secondly, if you want to do something related to cricket really badly, then you can try computer games such as Cricket 19 (PS 4) or World Cricket Championship (Android). I am not a big fan of virtual games, so I haven't tried them.

A third choice is to watch the highlights of past matches. Once again, I hate these telecasts. There is no fun in watching a cricket match, if you already know about the outcome.

These are the limited choices we have right now. Make yourself comfortable and feel free to make a selection.  Grin
None is going cool with me.
Not a fan of virtual sports. I never played any cricket game in phone or computer. It is boring LOL
Highlights are boring instead I am watching movies :-D

I was thinking to do something entertaining so that we all can hang up together in here and make the forum experience interesting. Any idea from anyone?
4891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk PSL T20 Pool and discussion. on: April 03, 2020, 07:16:51 PM
It's boring without cricket, gambling and usual things I used to to in life. Someone come up with something so that we find some entertainment :-D
Nothing around?

Good to see this in this board.
@Hacker, I doubt yobit care much about anything else except making money for them only.
4895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Toilet Paper Token in Yobit on: April 03, 2020, 12:06:21 AM
This seems obvious scam and I would like to see anyone to create a topic in the scam accusations boards with some data so that we can warn the community about it. This Altcoin Discussion is a spammy board and I do not think many people will notice this in here.
4896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Address and funds problems on: April 02, 2020, 01:19:21 AM
They're both mobile wallets, you won't be able to recover them on Electrum mobile if it's the only device op has...
That's too risky.

Want to shake hands?

(Remember what that was like, back in the old days of all the years B.V. (‘Before the Virus’)?)
Just like old days.

April fool's about to go in the next ~4 minutes.
And on a serious note - I can not count how many times I have seen the same information to be asked in this Meta B&H board so far. When I will get too bored, I am thinking to ask the same question to see the reaction of the community lol
