Everything's in that folder normally when I compile it? The bitcoin/src/ folder.
The guys above are right too... I think core was made more for debian builds (Ubuntu is a fork of debian)... Most people I find that need some gui functionality tend to go for debian from what I've seen (from researchers).
Also great - merited for coming back and telling me it was fixed, people normally don't and its really annoying!

I'd have so much more time without this forum At this time, I would for instance be sleeping because the kids wake up in a few hours. And yet, here I am. We'd all get bored so fast without this forum... It's my excuse to get out of everything atm... I decided to go Christmas day without using the forum and that was hard enough. I don't even think I managed it either 😂.
If this forum went and there was nothing similar to replace it, most importantly, I'd have to turn to twitter, YouTube or some other social. Media and that would be awful... I've considered branching out but the community here is great... Even if you get a troll you can't work out if they're trolling or just condescending (for want of a better word) - where else do we get this sort of service.

Payment returned!
Does that 1ml site work like freenode? Maybe you have to input your ip or your link before you can see yourself on it.

I'm too used to the autocorrect settings now... It'll take weeks to get used to a new change like that...
Are you sure they installed correctly? I've had it in the padt with more complex distros like Ubuntu that things have conflicts and don't get installed but it doesn't give a report at the end. Try doing them one by one if you can. If they have all installed, I'll need a pasteb.in of the output of configure and make (you can get them and > "file.md" and paste the contents of that file into the website) and send us the link.

Linux 4.15? Are you running a disro or a Linux from scratch type of thing? I think if the gui isn't installed, you should check how you ran [dot]/configure (my autocorrect won't let me print a dot). If you didn't add any extra commands then it'll be the dependencies you installed. There are additional ones for gui usage, I'll write them below when I edit this post: Edited: sudo apt-get install libqt5gui5 libqt5core5a libqt5dbus5 qttools5-dev qttools5-dev-tools Even if you did it last time it doesn't hurt to do it again and if the build still fails, take each install command individually and try to see where the error lies...

Hi. It's a test for anything on the lightning network.
I can repay in btc if you want I have enough incoming but I will send at 1 sat per byte fee... Come back in 12 hours if interested as I'm Unavaliable for a while.

I have an invoice here but with a warning your inbound amounts don't increase like your outbound ones do as the increase at something like 80% of what you send... I think that's how it works anyway, not looked into everything fully yet... I like testing with actual crypto it makes me concentrate more but that could just be me... Anyway here's the request if you want to go ahead: lightning:lnbc200u1p0q4y4spp55z6frtxjt3kqqw6stzzvkp0wng2xyk7w2mryl5e8s8l663xrxg6qdp2dfnjqen9wd6xjan9ypkxjemgw3hxjmn8ypex2um5yqxqr4rqrzjqwryaup9lh50kkranzgcdnn2fgvx390wgj5jd07rwr3vxeje0glc7zf4hyqqgucqqqqqqqlgqqqqqeqqjqqhx37lek0uyt42w4tx6g795m4a8mzks26yf3n2j4s8t4e4mmyv8y4r50kh4w38kl3yzh9h3ru08k62mjyudslzy27a3cgydfdfnqe0spjss4gy My node may drop off in half an hour though but I'll send another one tomorrow if so...

No, the 127 and 192 afgeeases are local addresses... As long as the 192.168 one is a number above 1... I guess 0.0.0.0 is not listed anywhere there then?
|
|
|
I quite like debian too for running more complex stuff that requires too many dependencies for minimalistic distros. I think core was best optimised for some flavour of debian as it seems to run much better on them than it does any other distor (fewer extra things to install)...

I don't know why it's not appearing even I restored my wallet all other items from previous days on the receive tab do appeare , butnot the address from today
Look at your addresses tab to check if the address is there, as we have said it won't be in the receiving tab as it changes with every address to improve privacy. Look at your history, does it say you have a payment unconfirmed or any history, it'll likely be that transction. Look for the bottom left, are there funds in the wallet?

Just pulled out my windows 7 laptop and my netstat gives internal connections from 127.0.0.1 and external ones from the 192.*.*.* address (aka 10.*.*.* on some networks). https://kb.netgear.com/27476/How-do-I-set-a-static-IP-address-in-Windows is what I found for trying to change an IP address, there are potentially some settings that will say what address your computer sinks it has - just look at the router and make sure the first three numbers are the same (some are 192.168.0.1 and some are 192.168.1.1, go with a static ip like 192.168.0.145 if you wantt o set one and try this again). If that deosn't work this wallet software isn't covered very much on the internet so I'm not sure there's much I can offer, you could try contacting the developer on the git repo to see if they have a solution (I know you mentioned it on stackoverflow).
Generally a lot of packets are sent with something so that your machine can identify it's for them even if they share an ip address with another machine so I'm not sure why this isn't working in this instance (maybe the program trying to save cpu time).

Received Thanks, did I do something wrong, I seemed to get an extra hundred satoshi?
|
|
|
What does the status bar in the bottom left say? Does it show you have funds in your wallet?
The receive address changed automatically whenever you receive funds, it'll probably say something like (0.000000 btc [0.0001 btc unconfirmed]) or something similar if the funds are in transit to you. It takes a few minutes for the payment to confirm.

What operating system is it you're running? If it's Linux it's worth opening the command line and running cat on /etc/network/interfaces. The file might not exist, or it might not say much but if it does it should djust say something about dhcp but it's probably better to send the output here so I can take a look.
If it's in Windows you can probably run netstat to see if anything else is connected to it or if you have a connection with it.
I imagine your router probably takes those packets and sends them you but your computer doesn't pick it up... It could always just be shoddy programming with the wallet software, in which case you might be able to assign yourself 0.0.0.0

I think in around 2016, the technology of smart tvs wasn't very good but most people seemed to start to get them because they had Netflix and YouTube installed on them and could do quite a few other things but were still very limited...
Now there are way more brands of smart TV (in 2019) and I had to buy one recently and they have huge amounts of functionality compared to the old ones from around 2016 or even 2018 and are now much mor eof a reasonable price for a good one...
Bitcoin currently seems like it will in a few years be a huge fad that everyone wants to show off (so people who laughed at it will want to buy) and people will have to be part of it and it may either crash (slightly) or keep it's same value as other countries try to keep up but it loses its hype... Bitcoin also currently lacks a lot of the functionality that it could have to make it so much more useful and a lot of the ideas behind it just need time for people to think on them an implement.

Off topic; what's the http payserver?
I'm almost always wrong with my guesses but it might be something to keep your channel going when you can't access it so it continues to broadcast your current amounts when you're not there... Probably why everyone else can use the ln offline (to receive) and I can't (but it could just be my phone).

Try pinging both hosts if you're used to the command line. It might just be a problem with the network configuration...
But I'm assuming that if it is your machine might identify by that or it could be an interface piece or something.
Can you conntect to the Internet on the machine? Do you have a firewall on the PC and or router, how are they configured or what are you using... If its set on supersafe for the router, chances are your node won't run because the router will block connections...

I don't think there are many producers of cpus though: Microsoft, quallcomm and hauwei are the main producers of ARM chipsets... X86 is done mainly by Intel, amd but some couls have been outsourced to companies like fujitsu, hp, dell etc...
I think a lot of devices share a lot in common with each other and some manufacturers probably share printers, a couple of years ago they said only 3 companies would be able and happy to print trezor devices... If you're in Europe or the US then you're probably going to be using the same printer as the main trezor would so they may still be able to interfere with its production... This could all just be people over precautions though.

This solution is just targeting at solving the supply chain attack problem. It doesn't address other issues. Mitigating other attack vectors is very interesting! It just wasn't part of the scope of this paper.
Actually it may already easily be solved by using a multisig of hardware with electrum in just a normal multisig. Since you're depending on both electrum technologies Gmbh and hardware wallet producers like trezor and ledger to be in kahoots so its really unlikely your funds can be attacked... You can also input numbers to produce a seed and can verify it with a few different websites or an interpreted version of the code (interpreted as apposed to compiled, checking every function).
