I just look at the payment from GPUMax + the 24 hr estimate from deepbit. My "calculated" earnings should be .97 BTC, and so far, since beginning to use GPUMax, my combined earnings from the two has always been over 1 BTC. I'm happy. |

In the case of your pill, a solution is to allow the government to tax things which cause people to need the pill, thus reducing demand for the pill (shifting the demand curve left), and then use that tax revenue to subsidize production of the pill, while moving the supply curve until it gets enough pills into the hands of those who need it.

Thats true and harsh on the one suggesting the idea, but i am also surprised on occasion at how personal the presenter seems to take the response. Nothing shakes my faith quicker in a venture than a leader who starts to loose it when there is a little heat. I gotta admit, pirateat40 has been good at keeping his cool.

See if you can put a multimeter on the power input to the single and get the actual current draw. That'll be very useful.
You need an ampmeter specifically (not usually included on most multimeters), and it only works if you can separate the wires. Otherwise, the positive/negative power draws cancel each other out, and you'd see 0 amps on the ampmeter. |

I wouldn't be surprised if half of that was taken up by hosting costs on anti-DDOS servers and refunding people for rejected shares and bad blocks. So I don't think Tycho has a ton of money from this.
Ummm... about that fee... It's 3% only on proportional. It's actually 10% ( TEN PERCENT) on PPS. Right. And I bet PPS mining on deepbit makes up a very small percentage of the total miners. |

It looks like malpractice insurance only directly accounts for a small percentage of the total cost. The idea in limiting malpractice claims is more to reduce ordering extraneous tests.
I think what is going on here is a culture of defensive medicine. Defensive medical practice is "sticky". Once a doctor is trained, and used to running many tests, they are unlikely to change this practice just because of limited liability. We may have to wait for the next generation of doctors before we could expect to see an effect.
Well, when it's not coming out of the doctor's pocket, why NOT order all the tests that they need? |
