4901  Economy / Economics / Re: Would nations adopt a DIY approach post covid-19? on: May 22, 2020, 03:53:48 AM
Many countries are easing lockdowns gradually, I was listening to Donald Trump speak yesterday IIRC and even America is planning on opening up gradually as soon as possible; the virus is still in virtually all countries that was affected, but they can't remain closed anymore, they have to open up.

Now that's where "do it yourself" also comes into play, the government expects citizens to take responsibility at this time, most importantly for their health and safety, to follow guidelines, use face masks...and all other preventive measures as well; you have a duty to yourself now that the nation is opening up even when the virus hasn't been eradicated...so also "do it yourself" will apply in other areas of life, acquiring skills, doing what you can do to get your life and business/livelihood back on track, choosing essential services to use, etc, we'll have to learn to do a lot of things ourselves, as the government struggles to revive the economic situation.

Also the economy of US and EU is almost dying but we have trillion of dollar investment of KSA Kings, UAE kings, and Kings of other muslim regions in the banks. We should freeze these funds and use these funds to make the economy better, otherwise these funds will be used to destroy our regions in the form of terrorism.
It's impossible to go to a sovereign nation and freeze their funds, if their economy isn't suffering at this time of the corona virus pandemic, then it's because they have developed their economy to the point that it can withstand this kind of plunge. It's every countries duty to use it's own funds, print more money and risk inflation or borrow funds to grow back their economy.
4903  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Stellar Airdrop - One more Phishing SCAM on: May 21, 2020, 08:19:04 PM
but fortunately, it isn't my main email.
Thankfully it wasn't, newbies still work with many of this ico projects/platforms and I'm sure their email addresses gets spammed the most with scam mails when the projects after their exit scam(most times), still makes more money by selling email addresses to scammers. They should be notified to set aside one "spam" email Grin they'll only use when registering for ico projects or shady websites that should not be trusted, and ignore mails sent to it.
4904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: List of bounty projects that end in a scam or void bounty agreement on: May 21, 2020, 02:08:56 PM
Damn, I'm almost thinking of participating in Karatcoin but now see this thread. Thank you for saving my time or else it would be waste. I wish we could have a master list kinda like this thread so newbie can check-up before wasting their time.
There are new scam/shitcoin projects presented everyday, a list or thread of this scam projects wouldn't cover all this projects, there will still be so much more not included In the list that'll be a scam project. You can just stop investing in them, or you can DYOR, though even after a research many times, you could feel they are legit, but they turn out not to be, the former may just be the only option imo.
I don't know anything about blockburn but I joined in their campaign though.
If you do not know anything about a project, you haven't done a research to get information on the team or if they have any shady history with investors or bounty hunters, then you should not join such campaign, only if you don't mind either wasting your money/time.
4905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any news of Coin Janitor project? on: May 21, 2020, 07:29:15 AM
It's indeed very surprising! But if the team really wants to get the project back on track, they should respond. I have sent not less than 12 emails with proposals to sell various dead coins but never even heard back from them.
It could be that they are actually not fully back yet or are not yet ready to resume the project again; another reason could be that they may just have changed their contact email address, so the mails you're sending isn't actually getting to the coin janitor team.
what is their gain buying dead coins from people?
After reading their announcement posted above by jawhead999, in a nutshell they buy dead/failed coins because they feel projects don't just die off completely and with effort they'll put into resuscitating this dead or abandoned coins, they will be able to revive the project/coin and also their community. Read their Announcement to get a lucid understanding.
4906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: May 21, 2020, 07:11:29 AM
One of the ideas seems to be to shorten all competitions and play only one game instead of two.
If they come to this decision, then what of some of the Round of 16 games that the teams have only played the first leg and are yet to go for the return match, are they going to end the tie with the first leg result, or will they start the one leg fixtures in the quarter final round.
As it was announced previously, UEFA will use neutral stadium for playoff  games, IIRC it will be Istanbul. It will be short few weeks tournament, something similar to World Cup. I think it's best possible scenario in current situation.
This is a good decision and I think the teams will stay in the city(instanbul)till the whole tournament is over, only eliminated teams would leave, to reduce the teams travelling too often since that's what they are trying to do by initially cancelling out two leg ties.
4907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Effect of the Bitcoin Halving on Online Casinos on: May 21, 2020, 06:37:45 AM
Imo online gamblers are not going to start using bitcoin to gamble than fiat because of the halving, that will make them investors or speculators rather than gamblers. The advantages the writer of this article pointed out may be true, but I don't think gamblers are interested in that, as long as they haven't had any issues gambling with fiat, then I don't think they'll want to switch to bitcoin except those interested in bitcoin adoption. I use bitcoin to gamble whenever I feel the need to do, it may be because of my predilection to bitcoin/cryptocurrencies and their adoption. I'd also love to see more gamblers use bitcoin, but alot of them do not care(they just want their profits).
IMO, lock down have more impact rather than the hype to online casino. Since people stuck and bored during quarantine, they will prefer they will prefer gambling to kill boredom [1]
This is true, but it also depends on what the gambler likes to gamble on, myself I only place bets on football games and since there's been no football for a long time now, except recently the Bundesliga returned, I've not had any gambling to do Grin.
4908  Other / Off-topic / Re: Protect your personal data: How hackers steal your data. on: May 20, 2020, 09:26:33 PM
I've once received a text message that I won and I need to comply the prerequisite that includes some of my information just to get the prize. However, the funny thing is I don't join any of their promos and that's why I don't respond.
They send those emails to random email addresses in their possession, they obviously buy many email addresses or post fake draws/giveaways etc to get them and then send those spam mails to see who shows interest in it. They also blackmail people, by claiming they have compromised your personal data and have some information about you, and you must pay them or else...

Many newbies don't believe it, but your personal information like email addresses for example are sold to scammers when you send then to shady websites or icos, it happens because afterwards you start receiving spam mails.
4909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap Changes - Broken the Trust of the Crypto Community? on: May 20, 2020, 08:01:50 PM
Many other websites not owned by Binance imo will also consider Binance as number one cryptocurrency exchange, not just coinmarketcap, if that be the case then I don't think there should be any case of manipulation or foul play. Users of Binance on the forum usually recommend it to newbies looking for good crypto exchanges, I believe they are reliable and them being first on CMC is not as a result of their manipulating figures to make themselves top, but that they are actually worthy of that position.
What does everyone think about this? Has it broken your trust in regards to CMC being unbiased?
Not it has not, I still trust and use coinmarketcap as I did even before it was acquired by Binance. And I do not also it a biased decision that Binance ranks top exchange on coinmarketcap.
4910  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 19, 2020, 11:35:44 AM
Manuel Neuer, David Alaba and Thiago are about to extend their contracts at FC Bayern München. This would be f*cking massive, especially a contract extention of Davild Alaba, but since it's the German Kicker reporting, it's a little to early to celebrate. Anyone got other sources?
I've not seen this info on any other source, but this three players I'm sure are happy at the club, playing regularly when fit, so there is every indication that they'll want to stay and of course extend their contracts with the German giants.

Few weeks ago there were rumours Bayern were planning a swap deal with city, which will see Alaba head to the Etihad and Sane to Bayern. But Bayern Munich have rubbished those claims; even Neuer was linked with Chelsea, but that was also false. So this three would remain at the club I think and maybe are actually about to extend their contracts(good news for Bayern fans).
4911  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A new survey shows that UKs gambling addiction is getting worst day by day. on: May 19, 2020, 11:21:47 AM
Lastly many experts have downplayed those numbers quoted in the survey, but they have acknowledged the truth that addicted gamblers are not getting the help they require to cure themselves, and since we’re a community I feel that we should try and help these gamblers as, and when we find out about their gambling addiction.
The only way I think it's possible to help someone get over their gambling addiction is through advising such person on why they need to stop gambling, and the risks they may face if they do not; I don't think there is anything else that can be done, but more often, they hardly can take this advice and as long as they have money in their pockets, they go on to gamble with it.

Imo curtailing gambling addiction rests on the gambler, it's a personal decision they must take on their own, most times maybe after a huge loss, it could just lead to their self realization that if they don't slow down they may lose something more valuable in the future.
4912  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning on phishing] Hackers are too active in these lockdown times on: May 19, 2020, 09:05:22 AM
Ico projects or shady crypto websites try so much to get people to give them their email addresses, even when they have no need for this addresses, and are never going to send any legitimate message about the project or their services to these people through that email. But instead sell it to people would try to scam them by spamming their mail. The other time I saw a service on this forum requesting email addresses from people to be eligible for a free giveaway or draw IIRC; isn't it obvious why they needed those addresses, but I wouldn't be surprised that alot of people gave out their email addresses to them.
4913  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Project Covid-19 : Supply to 20 families in Nigeria {New Update}. on: May 18, 2020, 10:21:53 PM
Congratulations to cryptopreneurbrainboss and to all Nigerians, both on and off the forum, I'm glad this project was a success, and obviously it was surely going to be, as it is handled by trusted users who would even take out of their own private pocket to make it happen.

I'm sure many of those beneficiaries have had their businesses or livelihoods impeded by this virus, supporting them with those items is not a gesture they will forget in a hurry for sure.
4914  Economy / Economics / Re: Did COVID-19 Bring Any Positive Sign? on: May 18, 2020, 07:12:25 PM
Life is alot more difficult for many people in almost every country in the world for us to count the positives or advantages; if the situation was different: The presence of the virus, very few fatalities, everyone indoors with enough to eat, jobs reserved for workers till after the pandemic etc, then this advantages will not sound 'sour in the ears', or seem too much of a pyhrric advantage.

But with just how many people have lost their lives all over the world, there is no way we can count positives from this, even if there is, they are outweighed by the deaths, hunger, fallen economy and suffering brought by this pandemic.
4915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: May 18, 2020, 06:24:18 PM
Last season people predicted that Man City could beaten Tottenham and went to final but they ruined the chance. The statistic shows that every time City play big team in round of 16, they will lose eventually. No one really care if they would be disqualified for the next two seasons. So no reason that City has higher chance to qualify into next phase I think. It's still 50:50.
It cannot be 50/50 when City won the first leg, away from home and are going into the second leg(at the Etihad)with two crucial away goals, they have done half of the job and their chances of going through is obviously higher than that of Real Madrid, any kind of draw and if Madrid score less than two goals, then city go through.

I'll predict the second leg to end in a draw, which will see city go through, with how lethal peps men are in front of goal at the Etihad, they are definitely going to score, Madrid too, both teams will settle for a draw in this game Imo.
4916  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best proposal message ! on: May 18, 2020, 09:18:30 AM
Yes, I will make a services thread. But, i need to buy copper membership for did it now. So I'm waiting some days to become a jr member. I like to make that by using picture.
The service you're advertising doesn't require the inclusion of images imo, and that's only what you are restricted from being a newbie; so there is no need to buy a copper membership or wait till you're junior member, only if you have images you want to add in the post, if you don't, you can make your service thread being a newbie.

I don't know if bounty managers need assistants to update spreadsheets for them, it's not an easy task, especially for those who handle alot of bounties at the same time, but even at that, it's a duty they'll prefer to do on their own to make sure everything is done smoothly with no mistakes.("if you want something done well, do it yourself")And if they'll be needing assistants, they'll surely prefer a more reputable user on the forum.
4917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: May 17, 2020, 07:04:08 PM
Well, not everyone if following these guidelines. Hertha player Boyata even kissed his teammate cheek after goal scored:
https://www.goal.com/en/news/bundesliga-players-wont-be-punished-for-not-social/y6ufjek7206w1avqoi28h4oub
IMO, such restrictions isn't needed. I don't think that something bad can happen if they will celebrate goals as usual or shake hands before and after game. There is no social distancing during the game, players touch each other multiple times, so, goal celebration wouldn't be something different.
The precautionary measures should be strict, but stopping players from celebrating goals together, through hugs shouldn't be included, there is no need for that and I'm sure this players touch each other inside the dressing rooms when they are away from camera 'eyes'. If a goal is scored, it should be celebrated, they should concentrate more on testing the players before the games and also when one teammate shows any symptoms of the virus.

I'll guess the league is doing this to show they are implementing every possible social distancing rules, but since they tackle and shove each other during the 90 minutes, mark closely when taking corner kicks and football being a contact sport, then they should also celebrate their goals scored.
4918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 16, 2020, 08:59:06 PM
Emre Can is an idiot, Klopp wanted to keep him at LFC but he forced his way out, missed out on winning the CL & the PL title this season. He went to Juve & failed, now he’s at Dortmund & isn’t starting regularly. He made a really bad career move leaving LFC & it’s gone downhill since.
He wasn't playing regularly, he wanted to move to a team he can play in more often, no one likes to sit on the sidelines, especially when you feel you're good enough to start. Would you also say the same of coutinho, he was a regular starter and indispensable at Anfield, but he left for Barcelona and failed there in Spain, Liverpool also went on to win the UCL, but he wasn't there.

I don't know if players often fee bad about leaving a team for something better and end up failing in the new team, while your previous club goes on to achieve something great in your absence, even if they did(feel bad about it)i would not hold it against them, it's part of the game.
4919  Economy / Economics / Re: The End of "USD" as the World's Reserve Currency on: May 16, 2020, 08:09:12 AM
Imo too much attention is directed at the United States of America, it's not an American pandemic, it's a global one and every country and currency is experiencing the downturn effects of this pandemic, even the Euro and Yuan you suppose is going to take over the USD's place as the reserve currency of the world is still below the USD and are also going to take steps back after this pandemic the same way the USD will, so there's no chance they are taking over now.
Do you think that US military power will remain as strong as it is now with 30% unemployment rate that will stay like that for months? Who will pay for this? Printing has it's limits.
The United States basks in the strength of their defense force and this area is one that wouldn't be weakened even with all this economic crisis and unemployment going on. The United States is under the constant watch of alot of foes, so no matter the cost they cannot let their guard down in military strength/power.
4920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 16, 2020, 07:17:51 AM
Dusseldorf might be playing at their home stadium today but there will be no fans cheering for the home team, and I guess the home advantage would not have a huge impact on this match, I think Paderborn might be able to gain some point against Dusseldorf today, this match might ends up with a draw at the final whistle.
Home advantage in football would no longer have an influence on the matches, if we agree that it's the fans that creates that advantage for the home team, cheering and creating an enjoyable atmosphere for them(the home team), especially when they are attacking.

It will be the same feeling until fans are allowed to go into the stadiums.(but I think it'll be a long time from now)The atmosphere would remain the same, whether for the home or away team, the only voices that will be heard would probably be from the bench, the coaches and teammates on the sidelines.
