hmm, so you say because there is this halfening big blocks are good ?

 Shocked

Uh, no. I was saying bcashers who had been waiting up to 5 hours for their transaction to process woulda been pretty pissed if they had to wait for yet another block.

Of course, the whole point of having bigger blocks isn't so you can cram transactions built up over the span of 5.5 hours into a single block, but it is a benefit in the face of bcash's wonky block times.
4902  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 08, 2020, 02:07:02 PM
BCH actually went 5.5 hours without mining a block back in January.

The next block was 2.3 MB. Good thing it has such a huge block size limit!  Roll Eyes

Here was the explanation from the reddit thread linked above:

Quote
Can someone explain how there could be such a long time between blocks? Only thing I can think of is if a bunch of miners join, which raises the difficulty, then those miners drop off, leaving the diff way too high for the other miners to solve a block within 10mins. Is this what's happening?

Quote
Precisely. BCH actually changed their difficulty adjustment awhile back to "improve" it but ended up introducing one that was much easier to game. Larger miners will drop off the network and then come back online once the adjustment has made the difficulty much lower so that it's quicker for them to mine blocks.

"Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash" indeed. Just as Satoshi intended.

Edit: aw, new block found. Fun's over.  Cry

It had a whopping 1094 transactions and was 612 kb. That's 10 transactions a minute!  Shocked
4903  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 08, 2020, 01:05:50 PM
In the meanwhile :

BITCOIN CASH just halved!

https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash/block/630000

Meanwhile, no new blocks mined yet. That was close to 50 minutes ago.

LOL.

Good bye and good luck.

3 blocks away from BCH halving!

A pathogen lab studying cures is functionally the same as a pathogen lab for engineering bioweapons.

What evidence do you have that covid-19 was a "bioweapon"?
4906  Economy / Scam Accusations / Multi-Year Bumper/Spammer Farm Cut Loose - ILCoin (Ilgamos MLM scheme) on: April 08, 2020, 10:17:34 AM
I saw an exceptionally bad post being ridiculed in the Wall of fame / shame thread in Meta and decided to take a look into the poster.

Bitcoin profile: shakerbitcoin

A reply of shakerbitcoin on Moving from erc20 tokens to Bitcoin

A reply of shakerbitcoin on 90% Of Project Bounties Are Scams

It turns out they were part of a bumper farm whose job had recently come to an end. For the last year, they had been spamming for a project called ILCoin that on the face of it looked like an ordinary shitcoin.

However, diving beneath the surface I found that it is actually the front for a long-standing MLM scheme called Ilgamos (here is their Facebook page). It has roots all the way back to 2012, then somewhere along the way decided to incorporate cryptocurrency into their sales pitches.

The first reference to it on the forum I found dates back to Dec 2016. Here's a review of it translated from Russian, from a thread titled "ILGAMOS "ILCOIN" ATTENTION CAUTION SECT DOES NOT PAY SCAM!" (also translated):

Quote
ILgamos is an English-language disguised financial pyramid launched on November 25, 2015. The official site #ILgamos is located at https://ilgamos.com/ , unfortunately, there is no Russian language there. As mentioned earlier, this project is designed for an English-speaking audience, which is strange in principle, given the traditional popularity of the financial pyramids of the Russian-speaking population in the world, in view of the desire of our compatriots for profit. But back to the recall.

ILgamos, also known as Ilgamos, is essentially modern #network marketing on the Internet. The project has 2 types of products / investments - gold and cryptocurrency IL-coin. Due to the fact that both of these products are not in demand in the real world and no one would buy them without promises of earning money, then we ranked ILgamos as masked # pyramids. Although this does not mean that the company does not pay or deceives its investors. "Sect" # ilgamos changed the marketing plan and pays only to partners who are actively luring new victims, and those who are not invited are promised that they will be able to sell their #ilcoin coins in 2019 when the coin goes public

In late 2017, they launched an ICO, which turned out to be a flat-out scam:

Hahahahhahhah
I can not belive that this guys they try again to SCAM new people.
Let me show you guys who are this people, and this coin ILCOIN scam allready many prople in the last 2 years.
Check this links :
The business is ILGAMOS and the coin is ILCOIN ,the owners of this ponzi coin and business are Havasy Viktor, Capitany Geza, Tamas Godo

This people should be in Jail!

From a comment by an account named Ilcoin Dev on the behindmlm article:

Quote
First of all ILCoin is NOT Ilgmaos like Bitcoin is NOT Bitconnect. As you see there is no active Developement behind ILCoin its a LIE.

Yes Ilgamos used Ilcoin Yes.. They have a sitty MLM strategy YES. But it dosent make the same as ONE coin or the other piece of shits at the MLM Scam markets.

So before you DARE to tell me there is no ACTIVE development behind the coin make your investigation. How many wallets has been made in 2018 like ILC /BTC wallet Source upgrades and much more…

play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ilcbtc.wallet&hl=en

So before you tell shits i just want you to INVESTIGATE!!!!!

Which was replied to by the site owner with the following:

Quote
Bitconnect didn’t use bitcoin to scam people through, they used BCC. Just like Ilgamos used ilcoin to scam people with... Ilcoin was created to scam people through Ilgamos with. Outside of the Ponzi scheme there’s no interest.

As an Ilcoin dev though that doesn’t stop you continuing to work on the shitcoin. But that doesn’t change the relationship between Ilgamos and ilcoin...

Somewhere in early 2019 they decided to drop the MLM presentation to the crypto crowd, re-launching the project under a new website free of all the MLM talk. They also followed up with a new Bitcointalk ANN, which is where our spammer farm comes into play. The thread ran for 10 months, garnering 72 spam-filled pages of nonsense, before it was finally locked at the end of last month.

Here are the accounts that regularly spammed for this MLM scam in that thread:

shakerbitcoin
romelitounknown
Trililing
Tokenized0000
grungelife182
ZackAdamss (banned)
not4mike
iBTT2
MikeGarden
AliceWood21
Brandonkimm
Nocrap
Purobantakte
JustMyFewCents
keyboardstyli
iHODL4
BTT4ME

Another thread they frequently commented in before being hired by IlCoin was CryptoRiyal - Smart Agriculture Powered by AI, which indeed was another scam.

Account connected to ILCoin: ILCoinDev

Long story short: these accounts have now set about mindlessly boosting their post count, probably looking for the next shitty scam project that will hire them for their "services". They are likely owned all by the same person or else small group of people, as they all post similarly mindless crap. I am going to set about tagging them and wanted to use this thread as a reference.
4907  Economy / Reputation / Re: Merit abuse by a Legendary on: April 07, 2020, 03:48:45 PM
Here's the thing about Vlad:

He's been here for a long time, just kind of quietly does his own thing.

I don't think he's going to use his merits to sneak an alt into a sig campaign or for any more nefarious purpose. Even if he has one or more alts that he's merited, he doesn't really use them for anything other than to bolster his own ego.

Ergo, I don't think there's anything worth worrying about here. Even if his recently-merited followers are kind of dickheads.

I am also WAY more trusted than he is Cheesy

Your trust score has nothing to do with your ability to use the trust system appropriately.

Think about it for a second: how does people leaving you positive trust reflect your ability to exhibit a good sense of judgment about others?
4909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: -- The Riddle of the Twin Brothers - Who Were, Are and Will Rule the World! on: April 07, 2020, 07:33:46 AM
Hi Vlad, people have been questioning your merit motivations recently, in multiple threads:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5238466.0

You may want to address them, or not. It's up to you really.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Merit abuse?  Haha.

If one earns $100 is he not allowed to give that $100 to anyone, including to himself?

Looks like a bit of a tantrum fit by a certain individual that may need to be addressed if he doesn’t grow up.

Vlad’s gone.  So go take away the merits he earned, rewind this “abusive” play pretend merits and do whatever else that pleases the regime with the merits he gave away the way he pleased.

That is the final word on the matter, Communists!!!!

Vlad is certainly not "gone." Who are you talking to??

Frankly I don't give a shit what you do in this thread.

Just trying to pass on information that you are being talked about.

You're welcome.

Why do the chinese eat almost literally anything, including live animals or cooking their food with slop from sewers? Because their ancestors were starving and the most picky eaters died first.

What a fuckin moron !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4912  Economy / Reputation / Re: “bonesjonesreturns” claims that “Nobody has dared try to refute the evidence” on: April 07, 2020, 05:19:23 AM
Thanks nullius, I do appreciate you coming to my defense here.

He's been attacking various members on the forum for over 2 years now, completely impervious to reason or logic. When confronted with evidence or rationale that is in opposition to his claims, he simply deletes it.

So as you've already mentioned, Vod is right. This asshat can't be reasoned with and is better left ignored. He should absolutely be banned for trolling.

It was my "fault" for reanimating him by pointing out how he is manipulating the trust system by including the same members among his 3 accounts.
4913  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 07, 2020, 05:09:26 AM

So I took your advice and watched The Hunt the other day... It definitely had a few laughs. Its funny to read the IMDB reviews. Some people saying, "Hah! They owned the libs so good." Then others saying, "Hah! They made conservatives look really dumb." Don't exactly know what the message was if there was one.

I recommend watching it, but don't pay money for it or you'll be disappointed.
4914  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM: Bitcoin SV (BSV) - fake team member and plagiarized white paper on: April 06, 2020, 02:31:56 PM
Can you add anybody to this list?

Nope

Didn't think so.

In other news, Craig got caught in another lie earlier today. This time lying about Satoshi's birthdate being attached to his vistomail email account. It wasn't. It was the date he used when creating his P2P Foundation profile.

https://twitter.com/MyLegacyKit/status/1247142197323075586

Vistomail, being a privacy-centric email service, doubtfully even had a place to enter your birthday. I registered for an account just now and there was no "birth date" option (granted it has since changed owners).

How anybody can be so blind as to continue to support this guy when he gets caught in a new lie every other day is beyond me.

There is no such thing as after me, sry.

Sure there is: COVID-20!

China Originated Viral Infectious Disease #20.

I learnt that at a MAGA rally yesterday. Social distancing can kiss my free ass.
4916  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 06, 2020, 12:42:37 PM
This really makes me a little angry right now...

Sorry for that, I'll let you get back to work.

4917  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 06, 2020, 11:40:12 AM
I dont care about the merits but I want to like a post, show the poster how I really appreciate his answer or the information the provided for me.

In addition to leaving them a reply saying "I really appreciate your answer," you could always link the post in this thread and if someone else with a merit to spare finds it worthy, they will merit it on your behalf.
So, your first option feels like spamming the thread for me, if there is nothing else to say/state.

I said that because it feels like you are hunting for merits. You already got caught doing this last year here, in addition to doing it on your own local board. Try writing better posts instead of posts about merits? Just a thought.

it is th scam that is getting called out - in PUBLIC by REAL WORLD PPL

Absolutely. Here is a partial list of public figures that have called out Craig Wright's Faketoshi scam:

Changpeng Zhao - Binance CEO
Peter McCormack - podcaster
Greg Maxwell - Bitcoin developer
Amaury Sechet - Bitcoin Cash developer
Andrew O'Hagan - journalist, author
Arthur van Pelt - Bitcoin entrepreneur
Jameson Lopp - Bitcoin engineer
Dan Kaminsky - computer systems security expert
Vitalik Buterin - Ethereum developer and creator
Trace Mayer - Bitcoin developer
Charlie Lee - Litecoin developer and creator
Zooko Wilcox-O'Hearn - Zcash developer and creator
Peter Todd - Bitcoin developer
Roger Ver - Bitcoin Cash figurehead

Here are the public figures that still believe Craig is Satoshi:

Calvin Ayre
Jimmy Nguyen
John McAfee

Feel free to let me know anybody (of significance) I may have missed. I'm sure there are some, at least for the first list.
4920  Other / Meta / Re: alts potentially manipulating the trust system - should they be blacklisted? on: April 06, 2020, 07:31:38 AM
Seeing how theymos blacklisted this farm I think blacklisting cryptohunter's alts would make sense too.
Agreed. May I suggest to move this topic to Meta, and slightly change the title to make it more obvious the problem is with voting sockpuppets?

OK, done.

If he's not terribly busy, I would like to get the opinion of @theymos on this issue.

Feel free to also add any other alt accounts that you feel may be attempting to game the trust system like the blacklisted farm started by ac2eugenio.
