Hey fellas, I just saw this thread for the first time (I write only in Local and Gambling) and memes aside (although they are quite funny) I saw a lot of great info here in the last few pages I read.

What I was wondering is if this was the right topic for me to occasionally share some TA? I saw a few charts here but not a lot, this is how I do it in Local once or twice per month when I feel that we are at an interesting zone/area.

If you're interested in that I will just post it here in English and share a link in Local, if not - I'll just keep doing it there.

Bottom line - I'd like to toss some TA ideas because I still want to learn a ton of things and approaches and talk to people that follow price action, volume etc. In my Local nobody really does TA except for myself.

Feel free to share some TA but be prepared for flak. WO is renowned for brutal honesty so you will attract a fair share of opinions.

Great to have you here.

Is that a threat? Look I don't go over to Croatia and bleat on about homeopathy or astrology. Why come here and spout that pestilential nonsense? For the merits? Plenty of suckers here?

You will be surprised to hear that I agree with you. TA is not a crystal ball, my analysis is often wrong. What it gives me is concrete, defined risk:reward setups and if I like the risk, I take the setup. Consider it as my 'beat the house' casino system that actually works for me, it is far more a mathematical risk analysis than it is a stargazing prediction.

Also, I do not give a shit about merits. If I did, I would not be writing in Local that has 1 merit source, right?

Sorry for OT, withdrawing now. Will just try sharing one and see how it goes from there.

In the meanwhile :

BITCOIN CASH just halved!

https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash/block/630000

Meanwhile, no new blocks mined yet. That was close to 50 minutes ago.

LOL.

LoL. 2.5 hours... still no block!

Edit:
Good job no one uses it, or it might have caused some people troubles.

If I gave a fuck, I would be worried by now.

BTC has a bug, preventing the first block being used to compute the next difficulty.
According to this:
Bitcoin Difficulty Estimator
Quote
FUN FACT:  Due to a longstanding bug in the Bitcoin source code, the time spent mining the first block in each difficulty epoch actually has no effect on the next difficulty calculation.  Even if this block somehow took an entire year to mine, it would not cause the next difficulty to drop, believe it or not!  The calculations on this site take this bug into account to help produce the most accurate difficulty estimate possible.  For more information on this bug, please refer to this section of Andreas Antonopolous's book, Mastering Bitcoin.

Has BCH the same bug?

EDIT: corrected my bbrrrrroken english.

BCH actually went 5.5 hours without mining a block back in January.

The next block was 2.3 MB. Good thing it has such a huge block size limit!  Roll Eyes

Here was the explanation from the reddit thread linked above:

Quote
Can someone explain how there could be such a long time between blocks? Only thing I can think of is if a bunch of miners join, which raises the difficulty, then those miners drop off, leaving the diff way too high for the other miners to solve a block within 10mins. Is this what's happening?

Quote
Precisely. BCH actually changed their difficulty adjustment awhile back to "improve" it but ended up introducing one that was much easier to game. Larger miners will drop off the network and then come back online once the adjustment has made the difficulty much lower so that it's quicker for them to mine blocks.

"Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash" indeed. Just as Satoshi intended.

Edit: aw, new block found. Fun's over.  Cry

It had a whopping 1094 transactions and was 612 kb. That's 10 transactions a minute!  Shocked

So bcash had their halving today. After that, it took them 109 minutes to mine their next block.
In the last 10 blocks, there have only been 1,541 transactions in bch. Bitcoin has had nearly twice as much just in the last block.
Imagine buying coffee with bcash. They need 6 confirmations after payment. 6 x 109 minutes = over 10 hours. So you can pay your coffee with bch and come back the next day to drink it.
zeroconf is 'perfectly safe' though so wtf

Sending kids back this soon is insanity. They are the primary infection vector. What we should be doing is sending workers back to work, so we can actually afford to treat patients and develop some way to defend against it. Let kids stay at home where it's safe. Literally think of the children. They are dirty and germy and smelly.

They are also cute, full of energy and most of the time lacking in jadedness... contrasting with some foks.
Hey, my own sister thought her first kid smelled bad when she was pregnant with her second. I explained that this is so she doesn't get the bright idea to eat him.

Lots of stuff has very practical evolutionary reasons. This is just one of them.

Also they really are germy little fucks. Keep them out of school.
