4901  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should People who don't pay taxes be allowed to vote? on: November 13, 2020, 01:23:28 PM
James Madison described the problem this way:

The right of suffrage is a fundamental Article in Republican Constitutions. The regulation of it is, at the same time, a task of peculiar delicacy. Allow the right [to vote] exclusively to property [owners], and the rights of persons may be oppressed... . Extend it equally to all, and the rights of property [owners] ...may be overruled by a majority without property....

I am not sure about this, because what if companies fire people right before the election just so they can't vote? Rulings like this could create a lot of political pressure on to the employees from their employer. I think a solution could be to check who paid taxes over the last 3 years. And if you didn't pay any than you shouldn't  be allowed to vote maybe

FYI

I don't really understand this tweet. What does he mean with the New Universe? Are there more than one? Also game theory is a very interesting topic in try to explain human behaviour. But how does it help to understand cosmology better? Sorry I am not the best physic student.
4903  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which is the best life? on: November 13, 2020, 11:28:19 AM
The best life in my opinion is a well balanced life. Even if we had a very hard childhood, we can still do everything in our power to live a good and full filling life. A good life in my opinion has a good balance between family and work. If we focus too much on one thing we will lack behind in the other. It's all about making comprises.
4904  Economy / Economics / Re: Oil and USA dollar problem for USA covid 19 New oil on: November 13, 2020, 11:25:56 AM
Oil is cheap and oil reservers are full.

Countries have enough oil and before specially under bush regime world needed the USA dollar to Buy oil.  USA dollar was backed by oil.
Now this is the Question what is the other thing USA dollar need to use to stay as reserve currency with real value?
The oil is not in high demand... So what commoties they Will use what all the world need so badly that they need USA dollars?

My guess are that its the covid 19 vaccasines the New oil what can back up USA dollars.
But this covid vaccasines is not for ever so at some point demand Will end.... The USA need new thing then what the whole world will need from them?  Oil might not be since OPEC use euro and Russian rubles currency!

Whats your toughts?  Correct me of im wrong Smiley

The corona vaccine could maybe be traded as a commodity, but I don't think it will last for very long. Because many companies around the world should go into mass production. Also the denomination shouldn't be in USD because the vaccine is going to be produced everywhere. Biontech for example is a German company, so their cost is likely going to be in EUR. Pfizer is an international companies with laboratories all around the world.
4905  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How long until we can bet with bitcoin in real life casinos? on: November 13, 2020, 11:20:55 AM
I've seen a couple of casinos (news about it, at least), that allowed cashless payments recently. So at least the move towards digital payments is happening due to the pandemic. However, I believe these did not accept cryptocurrencies, it was about fiat in digital form, so I am not sure this move towards digitalization is helping Bitcoin adoption.
Some people pointed on in the thread that there are already physical casinos that accept Bitcoin, but I'm wondering if there's an upward trend in casinos adopting Bitcoin during the pandemic or not. In any case, I don't understand why people choose land-based casinos when they can gamble safely from home, so maybe the trend will be land-based casinos going away rather than accepting Bitcoin.

In my country all the casino are closed at the moment. They will likely open next year again if the lockdown is being continued. So far the gamblers still need to pay with FIAT currency, you can pay with a master or visa card, so no need to bring cash. But unfortunately no crypto currencies are allowed. In my opinion this year pandemic changed the landscape a lot. Many new online casinos came out and a lot of people switched from the physical casinos to online casinos. If the physical casinos want to retake their market share after the lockdown they should accept crypto currencies.
4906  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anybody else still give a damn about election? on: November 13, 2020, 11:07:10 AM

everyone seem involve though. when there is election on other countries we're never concern about whos winning but with US, there will be discussions every tv channel like they wanna involve everyone.

US find it hard to elect a president but its very simple for them to find a president to other countries, they were very involve in influencing politics to other countries this is why people got to involve in them as well.

when i was in gradeschool i'm only concern who's bully in my grade level and will try to avoid him and his gang.  kind of politics still.

I agree with you, for one week the elections were topic number one everywhere. I checked the results probably 5-6 times a day just to see nothing much was changing. Most of us where not directly involved or affected by the election still everyone was interested. The thing that made it so interesting was betting on the results. I didn't really care so much if Biden or Trump would win.
4907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers forced into unpaid leave on: November 13, 2020, 11:00:48 AM
If regulations regarding unpaid leave do not exist, then these workers can do nothing but have to accept the decision gracefully or find a new job. The decision seems unfair, but workers should also understand that if a company faces a crisis, then the priority is to save the company first, even though it has to implement an unpaid leave policy.

In business, one of the high company expenses is the salary for employees. So when a company faces a crisis, reducing the number of workers is an efficient way to minimize company expenses, especially for companies that have poor cash flow.

I agree with you that companies try to look after them self first and want to reduce cost. But we shouldn't forget that we are all humans, it's difficult times for all of us. Forcing people into unpaid leaves can ruin families. On my opinion the casinos also have obligation to help out there employees. They shouldn't forget about the expertise and training they invested into their employees. They will need them again once everything picks up again.
4908  Economy / Economics / Re: Still confused why bitcoin is so bullish? on: November 13, 2020, 10:20:35 AM
You don't need to be confused why bitcoin is surging as every thing is very clear around crypto this year, bitcoin withstand and survive the pandemic period is the first good news about crypto this year and DeFi hype starts after and now PayPal too, what more does crypto need to start bullrun

Exactly my thoughts. The Democrats won the election, the hole world is relieved now as America is shifting towards free trade again. And also we finally have a vaccine a for the corona vaccine. Only good news at the moment. And if you look to other assets classes we see that everything is rising at the moment. Why should cryptos be any different?
4909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling = just for fun or an investment method? on: November 12, 2020, 01:56:25 PM
Hi guys!

How are you? Hopefully, you are all doing good in this complicated time.

And here’s my question: What is gambling for you — a fun time with a chance to win or a great investment method?

Thanks,
Karl

Bitcasino.io

Hey Karl, thanks I am doing fine in the current lockdown, hope you are doing good as well.

For me gambling is mostly for fun. It's a great way to clear your mind after a day of work and just relax a bit. And also you can make some money. But to be a real investment in my opinion you need to have some kind of constant returns and this is a bit difficult for me. This might be the case of me not following strict strategies or just get to emotionally invest after losing.

I think for people more experienced in gambling than me, it could be different. If you manage to get a constant return from gambling over time, it should definitely be viewed as investment.
4910  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you use your phone for? on: November 12, 2020, 01:30:24 PM
I use my phone first of all to stay in contact with friends, either via text messages, phone calls or video chats. The second most important thin of my phone is the internet, so I can be online when on the move. And the third most important thing of my phone is for investing, I can check my crypto wallet, bitcoin prices, make trades, etc.

4912  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did anyone try to "gamble" with ponzi scheme crypto scam services? on: November 11, 2020, 01:59:18 PM
When I was a newbie I did invest in a few ponzi schemes without knowing they were scams. I was naive and after getting burnt a few times I still invested a few more times but I did it with more caution. It didn't work out too well so I just avoid them. I've tried putting a few ads to get some referrals but they usually don't stick around long enough to be worth the effort.

I am usually very cautious about referral systems, because when I started out in the crypto world I feel for some shady businesses. In the beginning I didn't really realise that people just spam their referral links without really doing anything. And when using them most of the time you make someone else money instead for yourself.
4913  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can A Chrome app be a malwware and steal your private keys? on: November 11, 2020, 01:33:12 PM
I store my privates keys in gmail is this possible that I installed a malware (chrome app) that can read it?    Huh

I would be very careful with installing too many Apps on your browser. You never know what kind of information is going sent away without your permission. In general I never use Apps if there are not at least 100k people who downloaded the app and if the reviews are not above 4 Stars. This of course won't guarantee if there are fishing or scam Apps among them. It's better have more security in my opinion.
4914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New projects can still deliver on: November 11, 2020, 01:23:52 PM
Out of many new projects there will always be rare gems amongst the crap ones, many said we've seen enough new projects so they should stop production, well thanks to nonstop new project productions we have this coins today and few make it to top 30

1. ChainLink   #5 on coinmarketcap
2. Polkadot.    # 8 on coinmarketcap
3. Uniswap           # 31 on coinmarketcap
4. Aave.             #29 on coinmarketcap
5. Synthetix.      #38 on coinmarketcap

Still thinks that new projects have nothing new to offer? Think again

I am glad to read that there are still new projects that are viable and offer a good return for the initial investors. Since the outbreak of corona I have cut back my investments in new projects and just focus on my old holdings. The only real trades I am doing at the moment is in bitcoins. Uniswap sounds very promising in my opinion and should be the first new coin I want to add to my wallet.
4915  Other / Off-topic / Re: Weed or cigarettes on: November 11, 2020, 01:15:08 PM
So many post here but only 6 votes? And only 1 Cigarette smoker. That is pretty good in my opinion. Most people here must be non smoker. So far my goal of not smoking during the corona pandemic is going more or less good. It is very hard somethings to refrain myself from smoking.

4917  Economy / Economics / Re: Not enough Corona Virus Vaccine until 2024, at earliest on: November 11, 2020, 12:47:07 PM

I don't think that there is still no or not enough vaccine for covid 19 virus until 2024 because I always heard from the news that there will be an available vaccine by next year. Also many of vaccines for covid 19 is already in the final phase of trials. Maybe not all are going to be vaccinated by next year but atleast it will reduce the spread of the virus. The important is every country will be having this vaccine and not only prioritize the large and developed countries because everyone needs the vaccine.

I hope so too that the vaccine will be distributed on an international level immediately. To really contain the corona pandemic it's not about giving everyone the vaccine but the high risk people and potential super spreaders. If we give vaccine to people who come into contact with many people though out the day, it will be a great start. Giving the vaccine to medical staff should be the first priority.
4918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why most of us are losing money in sports betting? on: November 11, 2020, 12:43:14 PM
Best tip is to bet in games you're well aware or have knowledge on. That's one of the primary reasons you're losing because there's no point in diversifying on many bets if you don't know which team has more high probability to win.
Also try different sites that has more straight forward mechanics to win.

If this advice worked, then a lot of people would be busy only with the analysis and study of games. It doesn't really help. Think of a simple dice - the mechanics of falling out of its edges have long been studied and known to everyone, but if you play dice against the casino, you always (on long distance) lose.

Unforuntaely yes, the casinos are running negative EV games for the gamblers. So as long as the gamblers come back regularly and on large numbers the casino will make money.

For sports betting this is different in my opinion because the bookmaker offers you all possible bets, you can bet on the first team winning, on a draw or the second team winning. The bookmaker doesn't influence the game. Whereas in a casino your role is fixed. At a blackjack table you can't just switch the role with the dealer.
4919  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you like to become a co-owner of a world bank? on: November 11, 2020, 12:28:45 PM
Central banks are usually owned by the country they operate in. If the would start selling shares to the public and try to become a public company, that would be nice. Personally I would definitely invest in a central bank. Their funding comes from the government and their loans to commercial banks are usually backed by the government as well. It's a pretty solid business model with a lot of government guarantees. A great way to make money for the owners.
4920  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: November 11, 2020, 12:21:24 PM
We don't surprise anymore if Venezuela will collapse its country at its doom one day. They can't control the inflation once they print and print of paper money. They increasing of purchasing power of individual will help for the price of the goods and products increases. It is not new anymore since Venezuela is one of the country that has corrupt officials. I fear for the future of their citizens if one day they will decline and their country will no longer have the chance to pay the debt. Corrupt government can devastate the whole country, they should be eradicated.

Venezuela has so many natural resources and still it's such a poor country with so many economic problems. I am starting to believe that a dooms day wouldn't be so bad. Starting from scratch seems kind of easier that trying to fix the current mess. There is so much corruption going on at the moment that it might be easier to just get rid of all the officials right now. I really hope Venezuela gets its act together.
