4901  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wait for the dump on: February 28, 2021, 04:35:42 AM
It is wrong to wait for the dump in crypto currency token prices, there are high tendencies that if you wait for the dump, you might not be opportune to participate in the bear market. The best strategy is to prepare for the dump, this way you get to tidy up research details, figure out what coin and what entry price Etc

To clearly tell what you want to say is we should be prepared if the market dumps aside from the price we bought. We should have separate buying power or amount if a big correction happens. Cryptocurrencies are really volatile, this day or week can be a full uptrend and then after that the market suddenly dumps hard. Waiting for a dump could not happen if there is a big demand for a particular crypto. Just like what happened to me planning to buy bnb. It was just below $100 a month ago so I was waiting for it to go below that price but I think buying at that price is impossible now.
4902  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think about borrowing against your bitcoin? on: February 28, 2021, 01:35:37 AM
I would definitely not do it just to buy bitcoin. Its price is very volatile like the market can't go well after you bought it then you can be in dept in just a few months. What will you do to pay the money you borrowed if that happens, the bitcoin's value you bought won't be enough to pay it. I would prefer to buy an amount that only I can afford even if it's just a small amount. Some of us are just really hyped now and FOMOing to buy bitcoin because of its rapid increase, but this bullish season won't last forever.
4903  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: February 27, 2021, 01:00:54 PM
I never sacrifice my bitcoins for anything including gambling which I think will lose everything if I use it, and I don't really like gambling and if I bet for fun I use the altcoins I have from campaign payments or from other income to bet.
because I always believe that the value of bitcoin will be fantastic in the long run like now, and in my opinion most of those who lost bitcoin to gamble and there must be regret and there are also those who are happy because they can grow bitcoin from gambling, and it all depends on skill and luck in the bet.

I know some people that lose or spend huge amount of bitcoin in gambling that doesn't care for its value. They are rich people and they find bitcoin to be very useful to do their gambling habit, they can gamble anytime and anywhere they want. It's almost like a real casino because there are now different variety of games you can play with. People that regret losing in gambling are often the type who risk their small amount of money expecting for some return. Gambling is all about luck after all so it should not be treated as a way to grow your money.
4904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do ordinary people feel afraid of Bitcoin? on: February 27, 2021, 12:13:38 PM
Biggest factor is the volatility. For those who are new to bitcoin and don't have experienced yet a big price fluctuation, they will definitely panic when they see their investment lose when a correction or massive dump happens. While there are some people that are afraid of bitcoin because someone scammed them by using it as an investment scheme. With the big companies now investing in it, more people now are starting to get curious and know for themselves what is really bitcoin and what can it do.
4905  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc dump today and yesterday on: February 27, 2021, 10:14:44 AM
We already dumped few days ago before that and based on the chart at that time, there is a dump to happen again which is yesterday. Correction is normal and healthy for bitcoin because some people also want to take profit. You would not want to invest on something if you can't get anything from it. Bitcoin is stable now and some alts have started pumping so I think bitcoin will reach $50k again soon.
4906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The History Of Crypto Gambling on: February 27, 2021, 02:51:53 AM
Crypto gambling industry boomed because of the convenience it gave to people. Many like to gamble and doing it at home on their phone or laptop is a big change. Add to that is privacy, they can go to a gambling platform without exposing their real identity. Though some gambling websites now require KYC but there are still some where you can gamble freely. You don't even need a big amount to play on those platforms unlike in real casinos where a minimum amount is required to play and is already big for some people.
4907  Economy / Economics / Re: Some Company are holding more than 10000 Bitcoin on: February 25, 2021, 10:49:03 AM
It definitely helps the price to go up because those are famous companies but sometimes I'm wondering what's their ultimate goal by holding that big amount, it can greatly affect the market once they sold it. They can take profit anytime causing for small holders to panic sell. It's even an opportunity for them to buy again at that moment. Early adopters of bitcoin will be afraid to buy again if they can do that. Their wealth gets bigger as the value of bitcoin increases.
4908  Economy / Economics / Re: Out of Reach on: February 25, 2021, 10:11:49 AM
This is also what I've realized when I sold a particular altcoin few weeks ago. I bought it at 0.014btc each 2 years ago and at that time its fiat value was equivalent to 140$. I sold it recently at the same amount in fiat value but the equivalent amount of bitcoin I got is not the same anymore. Having 1 bitcoin gets harder to earn as its price increases. The value of most btc/alts pair gets smaller compared to what it was few years ago but its USD value is still the same.
4909  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Taking a loan to buy Bitcoin? on: February 25, 2021, 07:48:25 AM
Do you think taking out a loan makes any sense? The problem is that right now I can not do it because due to the lockdown my income is too low. I would have to wait for the lockdown to end. Then I can work night and day for a month so that I end up making like $7000 within a single month. With that I will easily get a loan of 20K maybe even 50K who knows?

Do you think it is worth it? This might be a once in a lifetime chance.

Since you already said that your income is low and even if you have work night and day, it would be a huge risk to take a loan just to buy bitcoin. It is very volatile, price could soar downwards very quickly in just a day like just what happened recently. If price doesn't recover fast, you would be in debt just to pay that loan. Just buy any amount that you can afford without taking any loan. Even if it is a small amount but you buy consistently like per week or month, it will definitely be worth it in the future.
4910  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading without experience and knowledge on: February 24, 2021, 06:39:48 AM
In your opinion, can someone trading without experience or knowledge?

I myself have no experience or knowledge in trading before. I just understand the concept of buy low and sell high that time. I tried a small amount at first to get used to it, the failures I experienced became my knowledge on trading. Then I started to watch some videos like fundamentals to improve my skill on it.

I don't advise anyone to do what I did. If you plan to get serious in trading, you should have a proper knowledge first before doing this. Trading is a good source of income but it's not anyone can do because the opponent here is not just the market but also yourself.
4911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone bought BTC at $6K yesterday and the exchange wants them back on: February 24, 2021, 03:46:17 AM
If I were that user who bought bitcoin at that price I would definitely not return it unless we can agree to some terms. It is their system's fault anyway and did not violate or did something bad on their platform. It is just like when you order to a fast-food then you get more than what you ordered or paid, the staffs there would be liable and it would be deducted from their salary. If they force the user to return the amount of bitcoin he bought, they could lose reputation as well as their customers because in the first place they didn't secure well their website.
4912  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bilyonaryo dahil kay BTC on: February 22, 2021, 04:14:09 AM
4913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will satoshi make a altcoin, giving us a second chance to get rich? on: February 22, 2021, 03:19:33 AM
I don't think he will do that. If he does, then many people would be cramming to get a big chunk of that altcoin. Many people would expect that it would be the same as bitcoin in few years. They won't sell as long as it doesn't meet the current bitcoin price.

People way back then did not even know what will be its value in the future. There was even a man that sold his 10k bitcoin for a box of pizza. People that think like this are just regretting that they should have seen the potential of bitcoin when it was still cheap.
4914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if the major holders of bitcoin all decided to sell it all? on: February 22, 2021, 01:59:05 AM
For me, major holders won't just easily sell all their holdings in one price. They treat it as their long-term investment and would only sell a percentage at a particular price. Though price would definitely drop if they sell at one price but many buyers will be prepared to buy some of those at lower price. Some rich people could become a new whale if they accumulated many amount at that moment. If those major holders plan to buy again, their investment could not buy the same amount of bitcoin again.
4915  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think we will see a lot of weak hands at $100K on: February 21, 2021, 10:16:25 AM
The $100.000 milestone is starting to look way more probable than ever, especially after such rally the past few days. I cannot blame anyone for selling at such prices, due to it being a huge psychological boundary. Myself, have sold at lower prices for the same reason. Tried to recover from my mistakes though and will try to hold as much as possible.

I'm not sure myself either though. I wouldn't be exactly sure if I'd sell or keep my BTC, supposing Bitcoin was to hit $100.000 in a month.

No one would just buy bitcoin at that price, even a hundred thousand satoshi would be expensive. What I will do is sell half of it or an amount that is equivalent to 2yrs of my salary then wait for a year to see if bitcoin can still go beyond that price. If so, I would not sell it until I retire. Bitcoin has only 21 million supply and every 4 years the difficulty for it to mine a whole gets half so I believe it can still go higher than $100k. It's still early to see that because bitcoin is not that acknowledged yet in many countries.
4916  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin's price, at ang ating seguridad on: February 21, 2021, 08:57:51 AM

Wink

4917  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bit Coin hits 55,000 USD on: February 20, 2021, 10:22:29 AM
$50,000 is a crucial support for bitcoin, they call it a psychological barrier. If the price goes below that then bitcoin could possibly reach $40k or even $30k range at worst. Bitcoin hass been rallying so fast since it break the 2017's ATH. And since Tesla announced their $1.5b worth of bitcoin purchase the price went really fast in just a month. If more companies like them adopt bitcoin we could see bitcoin's price $100k by the end of the year.
4918  Economy / Economics / Re: Risk-takers always ahead financially on: February 20, 2021, 09:39:45 AM
Life is all about taking risks. But only risk on something where you think that it will improve yourself even if you don't succeed. Just like cryptocurrency, some risk their money not knowing if it will have a real value in the future. Let's admit that many of us invested on crypto because we see that its price in the future can give as a good return that we can enjoy when we retire or for our future generation to use.

4919  Economy / Economics / Re: Rich have too much on: February 20, 2021, 07:14:52 AM
Rich should give money to poor? That's how it should be but that is never going to happen. One thing if ever I believe should happen is, there should be highest tax on the biggest earners and lowest possible tax on the lower earning people which ultimately helps the poor earn more and cuts of some extra from the rich and serves the same purpose as rich giving to the poor, indirectly.

That's already happening. I am paying around 35% of my salary as tax, while some of my poor neighbors don't pay any tax at all. On the other hand, I am not eligible for any welfare handouts from the government, while the non-tax paying neighbors are automatically eligible. I hardly get anything in return for the taxes I pay. This is how the system works. And in the end, the welfare rats always cry that the rich are not helping them.

Same here in our country, poor people complain more than those who pays tax. They get angry because they are not treated properly. They get government's assistance without doing anything in their life. Some of my neighbors here just gamble for the whole day not thinking of their future. Rich people got to that place because they worked for it. Even if we say they just inherited from their parents.
4920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Gambling Weekly on: February 20, 2021, 04:22:56 AM
Feel free to check it out and let me know your thought (there are a couple bets to follow in there too, if that's your thing) - https://bitedge.com/blog/crypto-betting-weekly-19-feb-2021/

This is a good blog to keep getting updated on what is new to different gambling website. Gamblers can also use this as a reference to choose where platform to bet that is more profitable for them.

Do you guys think gambling could be one of the main catalysts for Bitcoin becoming more widely adopted?

I think it would be not good if gambling will be the main catalyst for mass adoption of bitcoin. People would not easily invest in bitcoin if they find out that it is related in gambling. They would think that investing on it would also be a gamble. I would prefer to be the main catalysts for bitcoin is big institutions are investing because they will adapt it on their platform. People would see this as a positive rather than gambling which is often treated as a bad habit.
