4901  Other / Meta / Re: calling all sauces... on: November 12, 2019, 09:30:40 AM
There is  no doubt chimk is one of the best users of the forum and deserves to be a legendary member. But I don't like your idea. Becuase:
1. Chimk will surely rank up to legendary member without these merits.
2. Number of your smerits is limited.
3. You should read the posts and decide which posts deserve to be merited. you shouldn't merit a post based on previous posts made by a user.
4. Merits should be given to posts not users.

This was just my opinion. You have the right to spend your smerits however you want.
4902  Other / Meta / Re: Users that wiped all their posts. Or anohter project for LoyceV on: November 11, 2019, 11:29:01 AM
I mean it would probably be easier to implement something similar to seclog where it just tracks every edit. If a person edits one of their posts, it just gets posted there. If not, there can be a similar thing that just tracks "post" calls and someone whose scraping can just monitor it instead.
Theymos is the only person who can implement this. I don't think LoyceV or any other user can provide such data unless all posts are tracked one by one.

I mentioned before that the sad thing about reporting and "cleaning up" someone's spammy mess, is the fact that after everything has been reported and deleted, those guys' profiles look like they've never spammed in their life. Roll Eyes
That's why I had already suggested in another thread showing number of recent posts deleted by moderators on profiles.
4903  Other / Meta / Re: Respond to thread without bumping. on: November 11, 2019, 08:37:35 AM
There is a warning that appears when one is responding to a thread that has not been posted in for at least 120 days. So you choose whether or not to join the conversation.
The forum is primarily made for discussions, responding to a thread without it becoming visible at the most accessible pages does not start a discussion and the reply will likely go unnoticed.
I think the OP is talking about Announcements (Altcoins), Tokens (Altcoins),  Service Announcements (Altcoins) and Bounties (Altcoins), where the bumping system has changed.
In these four boards, 1% of your bump power goes to thread's bump score when you posted in the thread.

I edit the last post in a thread if it was made by me. This allows me to update the news without bumping the thread. The downside of doing this is that it is not obvious that the news has been updated.
If the last post in a thread has been made by you and you edit that post, the title of the thread becomes bold for me even if I have visited the thread before.
4904  Other / Meta / Re: Adding a ‘Use a brand new username’ sign on Bitcointalk sign-up page. on: November 10, 2019, 08:34:12 PM
It's a good idea. It helps users protect their privacy.
I think two other warnings should be given to new users too.
1. You can never change your username.
2. You can never delete your account.

Also, a link to rules of the forum is helpful. Like terms and condition that most of the websites ask you to read and accept them before registering.
4905  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] Roobet.com Signature Campaign | The Honest Online Casino | Full Members+ on: November 10, 2019, 03:48:22 PM
@Hhampuz
I feel what I quoted below should be edited.

Each Payment will be sent to you on Saturdays (Weeks will run from Sundays to Saturdays).

As the weeks run from Sundays to Saturdays, so each payment should be sent to participants on Sundays not Saturdays.
4906  Other / Meta / Re: "Report to moderator" wording on: November 10, 2019, 02:41:01 PM
I just found a post by Theymos regarding how the reporting system works.

How SMF 1.x handles reports is that it sends an email to all mods with jurisdiction over the reported post, with the email's from address set to your email. bitcointalk.org still does this, though I also added a reports queue, which is what most mods actually use.

I don't know whether the system has been changed or not.
Anyway, I don't think moderators need to know the email address of reporter to handle the report.

Edit:
I don't receive emails, and AFAIK no moderators receive emails anymore, and your email is not revealed within the report queue.
So, as suchmoon said, that sentence regarding revealing email address should be removed.

4907  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com | The Most Popular Bitcoin Casino | Sportsbook Launches November! 👽 on: November 10, 2019, 11:46:48 AM
I found out that my country was banned from Stake and I'm really not sure why , what's the legal reason behind it ? I play in tons of Curacao licensed sites and none of them block my country ?
As there isn't a clear regulation for crypto-related websites, the rules in different websites are usually different.
Some websites are not strict, but some are strict and ban some countries to avoid troubles.
It's like ICOs. I have seen some countries excluded from an ICO but are eligible for other ICOs form a same country.

Did you know that your faucet can be abused by using VPN? I forgot that I had it turned on, went to the freebtc and there is no countdown, I can request 22 satoshi again.
You can claim faucet once per hour for each account and each IP. When a faucet is claimed, the account and also the IP used are not eligible for faucet until one hour after that.
So, even if you use VPN, for abusing the faucet you need another account. So, I guess you have logged in using another account.

4910  Other / Meta / Re: Once again some forum moderator has deleted my post without understanding! on: November 08, 2019, 09:58:46 PM
You shouldn't reply to useless posts.
There is no doubt the post you replied to is spam. So any reply to that post is spam too.
With replying to spams, you are encouraging spammers to spam.
Assume that someone asks what is bitcoin or what's the difference between bitcoin and altcoins. What is merit or activity? As these are already answered, so these kind of posts are spam. Any reply to these posts should be deleted even if that's a high-quality posts.
4911  Other / Meta / Re: Ann thread bumping group on: November 06, 2019, 11:36:41 AM
From what i noticed usually these things are done during IEO/ICO period, but there are  cases where this ann bumping thing goes on after that period. Perfect example of that is Cocos BCX.  99% of their Ann thread is filled with newbie spam, while they are already listed on Binance. I simply don't understand why is that going on there, it's not like they really need that kind of exposure, it can only have counter effect.

They are only trying to keep their thread alive. Like what is going on in Telegram groups of many tokens and IEOs/ICOs.
Generally there are three reasons for such activities.
1. They don't know how the new bumping system works.
2. They don't want to bump their thread. They only want to have an alive thread.
3. They want to be on the first page of the board when threads are sorted by the last post.

And about a thread you referred to:
I just checked their website. Their bounty is still going on and there are some tasks offered to people. They are likely spending money for posting on their ANN thread too.
4912  Other / Meta / Re: {LIST}of the Merit Sources in a need of bigger/smaller Source Merit Allocation. on: November 06, 2019, 08:28:01 AM
At the moment I'm only merit source in Croatian section of the forum and have only 25 sMerits available to give monthly.
I don't understand Croatian. But I just checked Croatian board.
I don't think you need more sMerits. Because very few posts are made in this board. While today is November 6, there are only 9 threads at the first page of the board which their last post are made in November. The last post of the last thread of the first page has been made on August 26. So, I don't think Croatian board is that active and there is no need to more sMerits.
4913  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2!! on: November 06, 2019, 07:26:24 AM
In my opinion freebitco has a large wagering volume whether there is a Lambo or not. I am sure there are very very few people wagering for Lambo.
I think on the contrary. Everyone knows that 1% of house cannot be conquer in the Dice, sooner or later the time will come when the system will take everything that was earned (if you do not change the algorithm all the time), so most of people make big wager amount for the sake of volume in order to receive bonuses and even win those 22 Bitcoins.
I suggest you check the following bitcoin address. All the deposits made in freebitco go to this address.
1Fu3iBR2EMQWeYGi3XvrPmcPUkne8ZWj9h
See how people are depositing bitcoin in freebitco. Everyone check this address and don't know the owner, think that the address belongs to an exchange not a gambling site.
You can also check the daily jackpot and monthly contest and see how people are wagering in freebitco.
Freebitco is now the 2300th website in Alexa ranking.

4914  Other / Meta / Re: Ann thread bumping group on: November 05, 2019, 08:58:03 PM
There is only one way this can continue that if any person have few high quality accounts with merits and they have the power to bump the threads but i am sure no one will be doing the bumping service with high quality accounts.
High-merited users can easily bump threads without any need to make a post. They can super-bump the thread. This is much more effective that mini-bump.
At the time I am making this post, there are 6 threads on the first page of  Announcements (Altcoins) boards without any posts in the past 36 hours. These threads have been super-bumped by high-merited users. So, there are some quality users not make posts on ANN threads but super-bump them.
4915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: November 05, 2019, 02:05:31 PM
Dash is positioned well so it can slowly edge upwards in the listings at CMC and the current $73 price is well within range for investors.

Hopefully the combination of a low price and a large community user base will keep Dash in the spotlight for news and media outlets and investors.

When I read your post I realized that I made a mistake in my first post because Dash is not at 16th position volume-wise only on 13th.

There are 7 altcoins in the top 20 on CMC with a lot lower volumes as Dash, so I agree with you that everything can change really fast and Dash will move up in the ranking soon, especially with rising volumes.

Thanks to your comment JollyGood I was able to repair my mistake  Smiley.

At the time I am making this post, Dash is the 20th cryptocurrency on coinmarketcap based on market capitalization and the 16th cryptocurrency based on daily trade volume. So, it doesn't seem that you had made a mistake.
Also note that the rankings are always changing.
Anyway, I don't think any analyses works for Dash price. Dash price will change based on the market and other altcoins.
4916  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2!! on: November 05, 2019, 11:46:04 AM
I cannot understand why some people care about the effect of golden tickets on wagering volume that much.
Freebitco offers many bonuses. 1. Golden tickets, 2. weekly lottery tickets, 3. Daily jackpot, 4. monthly contest. It's really impossible to determine the effect of each of them on wagering volume.
There are many websites conducting contests and have thread on the forum. Visit their thread and ask them the money wagered due to their contest. Be sure none of them answer, because that's impossible.
If the money wagered due to golden tickets matters you very much I suggest you to check the number of weekly lottery tickets before existence of golden tickets and compare it with number of tickets during the past 6 months.

In my opinion freebitco has a large wagering volume whether there is a Lambo or not. I am sure there are very very few people wagering for Lambo.
4917  Other / Meta / Re: Ann thread bumping group on: November 05, 2019, 10:29:30 AM
I just checked the first page of both "Announcements (Altcoins)" and "Tokens (Altcoins)" boards.
Thanks to the new bumping system, except Moozicore which is now the third thread in "Tokens (Altcoins)" boards, none of these threads were on the first page of the board and bumping services are only wasting their money as their attempts are useless. (Better to say project owners are wasting their money.)
4918  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🐺WOLF.BET - Provably fair dice game 🎲 $1,000 Daily Race💰7-day streak bonus🔥 on: November 04, 2019, 09:51:46 PM
As I see, Wolf.bet signature campaign has paused. I think the campaign was very successful.
Wolf.bet added some new features including daily contest and then ran the campaign to introduce the website and new features to gambling community. During the campaign, they managed to reach new all time highs including online users and wagering volume.
I guess pausing the campaign after a certain time was planned from the beginning of the campaign and everything is going based on the plan. They will likely run a new campaign when they think it's needed.
I am sure there isn't any problem regarding the money they should pay to participants. Because they are spending huge money on contests. They paused the campaign just because they think that's not needed now.
4919  Other / Meta / Re: Whitelisting, spam score and community vote to eliminate spam with signature on: November 03, 2019, 11:25:00 AM
But I don't agree that sorting the threads by their bump score is the default sorting.
Assume that a newbie want to ask a question on "Meta" or "Bitcoin Technical Support"
For non-targeted boards of bump scores, the sorting based on bump score is not a default one. Meta and Bitcoin Technical supports are non-targeted boards.
You are right and I know that.
I was talking about the case your idea regarding extending the bumping score to other boards is implemented.
In my opinion there isn't any need to apply the new bumping system to other boards. Those 4 boards are enough. Because there are used for advertisement and they are abused.
4920  Other / Meta / Re: Whitelisting, spam score and community vote to eliminate spam with signature on: November 03, 2019, 11:10:38 AM
There are lots of discussion boards (bitcoin, altcoin, gambling) that have thousands of spam posts and many spam mega threads.
If bump score extends to those boards and spam mega threads, it will be another great step to fight spam.

You can sort the threads on any board by their bump score.
For example, using the link below, threads are sorted by bump score in "bitcoin discussion" board.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=1.0;sort=bump;desc

But I don't agree that sorting the threads by their bump score is the default sorting.
Assume that a newbie want to ask a question on "Meta" or "Bitcoin Technical Support" or someone who has not bump power want to open a useful thread in bitcoin discussion. What will happen?
No one will read those topic.
The new bumping system is useful only on boards that are used mostly for advertisements.
