Looks like it's going up up!

Damn!

They shipped a awful lot of S7's out batch 1/2/3 are talking about it.  I kept thinking we would see a wave but didnt.  Maybe this is the wave just smaller then I thought.

Since price is 288ish still feeling pretty good.  Great compared to so long at 230, we were there forever it seemed.
4922  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Purchasing One 2TH/s Miner OR Multiple 500GH/s Miners on: October 27, 2015, 07:36:31 AM
better one big and forgot, less cables everywhere and more room to add , additional hashpower, the con, would be that in the case that it would not work good anymore, you lose a big portion of your mining little farm

I think it depends on what miner some are better then others on not being babysit.  That is the most important thing that you can set it, and forget it.  You want to check on speed but it's nice not to have to mess with rigs.

As long as the big is reliable big is nice.  Moving from S3/S3+'s to bigger long ago it felt pretty dang good.
4923  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Faucets on: October 27, 2015, 06:23:59 AM
I've tried to gain substantial amounts of BTC from endless faucets but havent had any luck thus far...are they're any good ones out there to make a fast come up or is it all pointless?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, Im new!

Faucets ain't pointless at all, its just that it's not worth your time. There are some other ways to earn BTC like offering services (if you have any skills) and selling physical n digital stuffs. But if you can't do the said ways in the meantime, you can try another easy way to earn BTC. Try captcha typing, I prefer it over faucets as it has much higher rates compared to faucets, it needs some work though, but I know you can manage it since you have experiences on faucets Cheesy

Still it's mind numming work on typing capatcha. Your talking like the rates they advertise are normally for 10k capatcha's..... which is a heck of a lot of capatchas.

I would suggest finding other things with this time.  Learning something for example.  If you learned a service you could sell with that same time it wont pay during learning.  But after you learn it you will be getting a lot more money for your time.

Well still much better than faucets Cheesy OP's still a newbie and such micro jobs is better than nothing, let them solve captchas for now cuz eventually they will find more ways of earning bitcoin all by themselves Wink

It's still wasting time though.  The new person could study programming, or digital design, anything in this time and it would not pay much money at first.  But eventually they would be far better off then doing capatcha on that time.

I just hate for them to think they will get a good pay for that time.    They will not on faucet or capatchas.
4924  Other / Meta / Re: stupid time restrictions for reporting on: October 27, 2015, 06:19:29 AM
I need to report posts, the 6 min time limit on reporting should be removed, i can only report 10 posts in an hour
i know the limits are necessary for posting but for reporting i dont think the wait is necessary
also when you try to report a post and it doesnt go through, it says its saved as draft, it actually isnt saved as draft so theymos may want to change that, also while im on the topic, i'm just gonna report this and the post below it, they are two bumps in a row which is against the rules, also we need official rules

please no sig spammers in the thread posting links, i look new but im not

There is not really a problem as higher ranks can report quicker.  I don't know if hero has a limit I reported 2 spams with less then 30 seconds between I'm guessing, was someone double posted the spam.

I'm guessing this is to prevent someone to register a new account and just report a ton of stuff that are not spam.  Making mod's life horrible with new accounts reporting all kinds of things.

With the limit it will get less as you gain activity.  And you mention your not new use your old account and there should not be issues.
4925  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: October 27, 2015, 06:14:21 AM
The project failed.
Their chip yield is very terrible and nearly 0% yield if you SMT several these chips in a PCB.
In this situation, they could not mass production the miners and sell them to the market.
If they successfully manufactured thousands of dual miners, how come the LTC hashrate still no raise?

Do you have any proof?  Part of it could be there are a LOT of old hashra/gaw/zeus gear that is pretty inefficient, would not surprise me  if some have them unplugged unless "free" electricity.

I would think it was a little higher then you said on yield as they shipped some to re sellers.  I mean they had time to work on it if it was 0.   They have said nothing.
4926  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: October 27, 2015, 05:29:54 AM
seems like a good but not interested thnx

Oh really? Damn, with that content in your posts I'm sure other campaign managers will be fighting to get you to write for them. Damn, wish I had your vocabulary and grammar.

Hey, I know marco is a busy guy so I understand that he can't reply to PM's now and then, so I thought I'd ask the bit-x community instead. Smiley

I applied since the quote up there and through PM's got a spot but when trying to add my UID in the beta signup page it obviously says that it's full.

So just wondering how I do from here on out? I'm guessing just continue posting as usual but would like to know which day payments happen and how posts are filtered.

Thanks in advance

This is something bit-x community cannot help with.   On getting in the campaign and UID added you need to talk to Macro.   That is not something many people have access to.  2 I would guess Macro and BitcoinBoys are only ones.  And Macro makes judgements on adding to campaign.

You will need to PM macro again.  He might be a little busy since bot was down since blockchain went down.  But he is the one who can anwser your questions on this.
4927  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: October 27, 2015, 05:18:04 AM
Blockchain.info is down currently, so payments will not be made automatically until it is back up!

An updated bot (likely with a different blockchain service API) will be released in the next few weeks.

I see, thanks Marco, I hope it will solve soon.

It's already back up and going. It was stopped from working since blockchain was down.  So not fault of bot, but luckily blockchain is up now so bot is functioning.  So that is good news.  It really is a pretty good bot.
4928  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: NAMG - North American Miner Group - New Concept, NEED INPUT from YOU! on: October 27, 2015, 05:03:35 AM
Such negativity, let's review what I said,

Let's start with a target in 500th. Not 5ph, obviously growth changes upgrades and perhaps multiple sites would get to us to the larger goal.  The datacebter facility power and client base is already there, running, I own it, I built it in 2004, I've been providing colocation since 1995.  I am a Cisco engineer.

Next I didn't ask anyone to send equipment I asked for a discussion on a group to mine together.  Maybe someone w a 2 cent per kWh rate on Wa. can go hunt down a building for us.
Lease.

Next I have the experience already to build the datacebter, install the power, ventellation, and network.  I've done it all many times over.

Lastly I've been mining bitcoin very successfully for about a year, everything is running great at 70th, there is definitely a learning curve so if you don't already mine over 10 or 20 th you probably won't understand do feel free not to chime in unless you have this much needed experience.

But Thanks though for all the great input!

As someone who has hobby mined 10TH +, and 20TH +, I can relate.   But going from even these amounts to 500TH is a massive undertaking.  You are likely to have growing pains unless you have someone who has done it before.     Your still talking about gong from hobby mining to a professional data center from 70T to 500T.  There are a LOT of things you need to plan out.

I like the idea.  The trust and capital to do it will be the hard things to get.  There just would have to be a pretty solid written out business plan.

WARNING

Same gun for sale here: http://bandofbrotherssoftair.forumfree.it/?t=68741243 at 100Euro

Seems like a scam!

It is the same picture.  It does not alone prove a scam. But yes a lot of scams do steal pictures. OP you would be smart to upload your own pic of your item and you wont get accused on that.

And Escrow can prevent it aswell which OP mentions.  So just make sure to use trusted escrow agent.
4930  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: October 27, 2015, 04:46:55 AM
Today is one of my favorite day's of the week.  Getting signature campaign and mining in a day.  Nice little bump for my addiction to the forums.

All full member level and above should look into signature campaigns would be my suggestion.  If used properly it works out great for each side.
4931  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: good places to hide paper wallet ? on: October 27, 2015, 04:45:02 AM
Grin try safety deposit box

It is honestly the best as far as keeping a copy of your paper wallet.  It will cost more then a hardware wallet if you have it there long term, so I hope you are using it multiple items if just for a single bitcoin paper wallet unless a lot of holding it is not very good price.  But you get bank level security.... which is not easy to get.

But everyone should think about one that has much holdings in BTC.
4932  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I invest? on: October 27, 2015, 04:42:02 AM
Just buy and keep for some time you can make some profits if you don't know where to invest your coins.

If you got in at around 230 which it was for quiet a while with recent jump this perhaps is one of the more profitable ventures recently.   In a matter of a few weeks to gain that much is pretty good.  Not everyone got in at that though so it's hard to judge overall profit level.

But buying and holding long term is something we hope works out.  As for bitcoin to really continue to profit that is what we really need.

It appears a new name is being used there were 2 threads under names like "KNCEvilUponUs2088" and second it was like it but different numbers.

Basically a updated message looks with different font in places and a tad of ascii art now.   So changing a little bit.

Since some like to see Best Share, I've decided to display the Best Share at the top of the page. Currently it's set to: 2,147,483,647

Sounds like a fun stat to add.  Thanks for doing it!  I think I can speak for many others in thanking you for your support in the club.

Truly great to  have you helping.  Some great things you have made.
4936  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: October 27, 2015, 04:27:22 AM
Just tested loss of internet with my batch 1 S7 and my batch 3 S7. I run with a proxy to combine all my miners to a single network connection.  This runs on a local machine.  I left my LAN connection from the two S7's to this machine.  Then I disconnected by DSL link. I continued to monitor the S7's with their web interface.

For the first 10 minutes, the proxy continued to fool the miners that all was well.  After about ten minutes the S7's started beeping.  Checking their status, both showed the connection to the proxy server as dead.  The 5 second hash rate dropped rapidly.  Both S7's have their fans set on manual speed at 40%.  I left things this way for another five minutes, observing that the fans continued to spin at their normal speed.  The chips cooled down.

After another 10 minutes, I reconnected my DSL service and established pool connectivity.  Within about a minute, both S7's were back to normal, showing a connection to the local proxy and the 5 second hash rate building back up.

If there is an overheating safety problem with the S7's either:

1. It does not affect my two units
2. It is intermittent and may hit my two units some time in the future if there is a network outage
3. I may have bypassed the problem by using the fixed fan setting.

I am using the firmware originally supplied with the two units. 1.5.3.0, file date September 15, 2015.

My five hours offline was due to a crashed Internet.
I was away for weekend and got back seven pm tonight.
We had something in common my s-7 was set to manu al fan speed.

Like you

I am using the firmware originally supplied with the two units. 1.5.3.0, file date September 15, 2015.

So manually setting may allow for safety

any way to get this original FW file the new file from the site just broke my miner

I highly recommend others take my philosophy on Bitmain updates on miners that don't use SD cards and can't be reverted easy (C1, and S4 both were great with SD).

My motto is if it's the miner is working good and no big issue update, or big feature release.  I would just keep the current.  If it works great... not always best idea to change.
4937  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best bitcoin wallet? on: October 27, 2015, 03:04:43 AM
the best for me is mycelium on mobile as it is always on my side Smiley

I HIGHLY suggest looking into problems some have had with mobile wallets.  If you are rooted or jailbroken the risk goes up even more.   I would not store more then spending money on on mobile.

Cold storage is a lot better if done right.  And key words are done right.
4938  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Faucets on: October 27, 2015, 02:57:23 AM
I still visit faucets sometimes, but i'm just down on 3 of them. Old habits die hard. Grin

I was like you a few months ago. I only use 3 faucet daily, freebitco.in, Bitcoin Aliens and WeekendBitcoin. Today, I cut down to only just one*, WeekendBitcoin. Even so, I visit WeekendBitcoin when I am free only. Sometime, someday, I just forgot about faucet.

* I own a faucet but I dont use my own faucet. Which owner will use his or her own faucet?

How much are you making off this one faucet?  Most of the time forgetting about all of them is the best anwser.

Most pay in cents per hour which is not good at all.  And jackpots some advertise you will find very very few who ever win near them.   So I would do something else with time in most cases.
4939  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: laptop into miner on: October 27, 2015, 02:52:17 AM
Im pretty new, and looking to learn. I have looked at miners online and they're all really expensive. I'm looking for a more cost effective route.

The most cost effective route is to buy an actual miner (ASIC).
Your laptop will catch on fire way before you see a single satoshi.

Not to mention any of these suggested USB sticks or other miners could use a RPI for 35 bucks.  So no risk to laptop, running it 24x7.   And some linux is easier to use with certain miners.  No driver issues some have with windows.

But no day's a laptop will make any money are over.  Gpu/Cpu are over most lose money from running these mining forums.    High intensity on a laptop is not good 24x7.   You will thank us if you don't go this route.
4940  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitfury a threat? on: October 27, 2015, 02:44:56 AM
Not a threat at this point.  You have chips from Spon-doolies, KNC, Antminer and Avalon.   This is pretty decent competition at this stage.  The bigger issue may be centralization of mining capacity over time into these large mining interests along with a few independent players.
Definitely, this is what we need to worry about but I guess we will always get their scraps of last generation from all the big players and that might be enough to make the home market a slice of the mining pie.

It would be interesting to see where the old "scraps" go in some cases.  I don't see some of these really wanting to sell old gear to public, as they did not want to initially.

It would not surprise me if some like bitfury are more upgrade and can use some old parts with new hashing boards.   Or they might have so low electricity these old machines they can run them till having without worries.
