4921  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Old lesson: Don't rely on your phone. Always save your wallet seeds on: March 31, 2020, 01:39:51 AM
(Keep Your Recovery Seed Safe And Secure) It is the first lesson you learn when using cryptocurrencies, but you will its value when you lose your currencies.
I keep most of my BTC in cold storage and transfer a small part to my phone to make payments. Yesterday, I transferred about $ 50. Unfortunately, my phone fell from the top of the house and Android stopped working.
I didn't keep any save any recovery seed, so I lost it forever. Cheesy

BTW, is the phone got hardly crashed?

Technicians today can find a way to boot it up without harming the saved apps or basically without clearing the data. I'm an Android enthusiast for years both software and hardware but I don't know that's possible since it should be reset.

I do have a phone before that fell on the 3rd floor (maybe about 15ft). It was basically crash but not the internal stuff of it. If only it got booted but stuck to the Android logo, I can manage to fix just by flashing a stock ROM but that's not the case. I want it to be repaired as it was just 2 months in my possession and it got fixed by a CP technician. The apps are still there when it booted. Although it costs me around $60 (in my currency) since they also replaced the LCD and battery.
4922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020 Discussion Thread on: March 30, 2020, 11:48:28 PM

The 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games is now set on July 23 to August 8 in the year 2021. Although the games will be held in the year 2021, it will still be called Tokyo Olympics 2020.

https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/stories/news/detail/new-tokyo-2020-olympics-2021-dates-revealed/

Good move. No need to rush as the Olympics commences every 4 years.

Yes, it affects the qualifying period at each sport but it doesn't matter anymore since all major sports events are canceled.

Oh well, we don't know yet if this pandemic virus will be cured from that period. Since as of now the spread still reaching more countries and affecting more people without real solutions. Those who recovered from this disease are people who've got stronger immune system and no real  medicine that's been discovered yet, but hopefully after a year we'll be able to see progress..

At that period, we can expect, at least the situation is now stabilized or being controlled. Somehow there are people who got recovered even without the actual medicine against this virus.

It's not about the virus should now be curable on that period but what matters here is, the infection was now controlled. In the first place, all the family virus of Covid-19 are not curable up to now but the spread is now controlled. We want that to happen as even the cure will be made now, it's impossible to accommodate all infected persons.

Reducing the numbers of infected people is a key for a business to get back on track while experts are finding a way to formulate a medicine.
4923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: March 30, 2020, 11:02:21 PM
Looks like the Lakers will not name their 2 positive players which were diagnosed last March 19. Don't know the reason or maybe to prevent further panic and stress on these players but what do you think guys, is it necessary to name these players? For me, yes and no. YES, because teams must always be open to the public and NO because they assuring that they are following the protocol to contained these players.

Well then, hope like other NBA players, not just these Lakers peeps but all players/staffs/part of the organization that got infected with the virus will be cleared too.

If the whole world was as ready as millionaires and famous celebrities, we would have a lot more people staying alive right now, most of the people who died probably died because they didn't had the access to healthcare as well as NBA players, remember Utah and OKC both used 50% available test kits for their teams when they got tested, now there is more tests available but they basically bought something very vital for the community and the future of some people because they had the money for it.

That's the real world and no way it will be changed. But on the positive note, it does mean that this pandemic virus is curable even without the actual use of medicine against it. It will be more pain in the ass for an ordinary person if the virus will just only be killed by certain medicine.
4924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the safest crypto online games to start if you are a Newbie? on: March 30, 2020, 10:40:36 PM
Well, as the title says what is the safest feature crypto games online to be gambled for newbies.
Due to this pandemic lockdown and everyone must stay at home my friend looking for alternative online gambling. He was asked me what is the safest crypto gambling game for them that they never encounter. Though playing cards are very common like poker, Tong-its or Blackjack, it is different when you are online.

What do you think? --can I recommend dice and roulette gambling game since among the poll I listed this is the easiest gambling I have ever known. I added a poll and lock this thread once I have got satisfied answers from our fellow gamblers on this community.

No gambling game is safe. Even the easiest game can wreck everyone's budget.

Since you are introducing it to newbies;
-Better explain to them what's the risks involved in doing gambling.
-Explain them the provably fair - not literally the exact meaning of it but just how you defined it
-For dice, slot, roulettes or any related games, explain them what house-edge means - again, not that you will  actually explain the exact meaning of it but somehow tell them it affects the output or result in every bet

Honestly, all options on the poll are easy to follow and understand so a newbie won't have a difficult time learning those. But the way your friend asks you looks like they think that crypto-gambling is easy that's why you need to explain to them the risks to somehow avoid falling on the gambling trap.
4925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Betting Double After Losing is Really a Good Decision? on: March 30, 2020, 10:18:19 PM
In short, is the martingale strategy in betting in such gambling games such as roulette and dice do really is effective strategy? For example, what if you are winning, and every time you win, you double your bets, and basically apply the martingale strategy, which is to double your bet when you lose.

Would that make a huge impact to your funds? I haven't tried it so far, but for me, I don't that is really effective as if we lose, we aren't really going to win right after, because there is still a possibility of losing once again.

Martingale is not actually a literal strategy we can call on but it's more of a betting type. A strategy is meant to defeat the house. Without even giving a further explanation, we all know here how this martingale type of betting done.

Is this effective? There are lots of factors why this type of betting will not be effective in the long-run and that's it the house-edge of a site. There is no way this type of betting method will defeat the house in the long-run. Meaning there is a chance that a person can lose 10x or more in a row.

Is martingale will have a huge impact on anyone's funds? Yes, there is but unfortunately, the impact is continuously losing.

So why this strategy is recommended by others? Because not all the time you will have a bad session. Let's say you started your session and you think you already get the advantage of using that method then get out immediately and call it the day. There is no sense to continue your session on that day even if you feel lucky.
4926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: E-gambling on: March 27, 2020, 07:38:24 PM

Today there are a lot of games being canceled because of the coronavirus outbreak and some people that really would like to play gambling cannot get out into their houses and play, but not today again because now we have the online gambling or e-gambling that you can now play different games, sports gambling or even e-sports gambling that you want to wage your money also it is less hassle because it is convenient you can now play to your home.

Honestly, even without the Covid-19 outbreak, the majority of gamblers here are into online gambling.

This a crypto-gambling section in the first place, that's why.

That's the reason why I introduce some of the websites that they can make more money and this is a good thing too because they can explore more with different market prices of coins and having a good ratio of exchange.

I know your intention is good but we are talking about money here. Since this is a gambling section, where the money is always at risk, somehow we don't want to add another risk just by trying random sites.

It's always a good practice that while introducing a site here, make sure it's reliable, trustworthy, does have positive reviews and if possible, you do have an experience using it. It will be a good reference to others.

4928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will the gambling addicts do now that the casinos have closed? on: March 26, 2020, 10:09:07 PM

Not exactly the same as your subject but somehow these threads are correlated to that:

Will you gamble right after coronavirus outbreaks?
COVID-19 and its effect in Gambling World
Right time for gambling addicts to come out of addiction?
Corona virus (COVID19) Effect in Cryptocurrency Gambling
Anyone here succeeded a friend to play online gambling now that casino is close

I'm seeing that future responses here might also be the same on some responses at these threads.
4929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos that allow bch and ltc and eth investments? on: March 25, 2020, 10:10:40 PM
FortuneJack is very flexible and complex that's why it never fails it customer to give a service that they deserved. It covers a lot of cryptocurrency and the reason why the volume of people who prefers to use it constantly increasing is that FortuneJack can immediately fix the bugs or problems. For example, the problem when people are having a hard time withdrawing their money, they immediately do some troubleshooting.

This casino is my no.1 choice of all the casinos that I tried, this is exactly what I'm looking for. It accepts no matter what coin do you used to spend and the manipulation of the cryptos are in a proper system. It also never allow scams and hackers to enter their platform because of their strictness when it comes to their security. YES, it is good for BCH, LTC and ETH investments if you prefer to use altcoins than bitcoin in gambling.

As far as I know, FortuneJack and Bitstarz don't have an option for bankroll investment. To confirmed it as maybe I missed some updates, I just checked it and found no option for bankroll investment.

OP is actually looking for a bankroll investment feature wherein altcoins are also accepted. Funds will only be intended for investing and not to be used for the usual gambling activity.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2097255.0 a cryptocurrency gambling casino list that has an "investment option".

To OP, based on the shared link, take this as a reference:

On-going:
Bitdice
Bitvest

Currently shutdown:
Yolodice
Crypto-games

Yours to check if your preferred altcoins are there. Only few remains so it won't take much of your time.

I think it is because of the virus. Their brain are all getting eaten out with nothing to do inside their house.

You are right lol. I don't know anything about the full legal terms associated with that case (Section 501 of the federal Copyright Act ) but OMG I can't believe there's a violation for that even though the one that uses the photo is the author's subject itself.

""As a result, Mitchell is seeking damages that "would reflect profits, income, receipts and other benefits derived by James and his co-defendants or, in the alternative, "damages of up to $150,000" per infringement.""

Yeah, money money money! $$$ BTCBTCBTC

I know others are an enthusiast of reading conspiracies, even me as it was really interesting to read. It's fine as long as it will remain like that and no follow-up questions. However, any conspiracies, made-up story or spread news from an unreliable source that isn't confirmed yet doesn't really help with the current situation. The pandemic is serious. We don't need another sh*t to think about. Cool
4931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safe with bitcoin? on: March 24, 2020, 07:10:41 PM
Today we are experiencing a virus and that is the coronavirus or the NCov19 that is becoming pandemic immediately in just a single week and today there are a lot of people still going outside even there is a quarantine. The reason why? They need to go outside just to buy foods and things they need and also pay their bills they are prone to the virus also the virus can now be attached to the tangible things like money if they are already infected and touch the money with the virus it is rapidly spreading immediately. And today it is good to introduce the use of cryptocurrency or the bitcoin using online payment because it is more faster and secured they don't need to go outside too to pay other things they need and it is better if we are spreading those information so they can now made online payment and let's stop spreading of virus.

The fiat payment system evolves and improves as it progresses. Cashless payment or basically online payment is already the most used method in paying bills and purchasing products. It's even faster than waiting for a bitcoin transaction to be confirmed.

For buying foods on supermarkets, still, even with the use of bitcoin, people will still go outside and exposed themselves to the environment defeating the purpose of social distancing. Food delivery operation is also halted during the lockdown period, at least here in my area. Bitcoin or even cashless payment is totally useless in that case.

I'm a bitcoin enthusiast and bullish but there are lots of things to work before we can see the actual usage of using bitcoin payment globally.
4932  Economy / Gambling / Re: FortuneJack and their KYC - I do not recommend on: March 23, 2020, 10:12:48 PM
For everybody who play bitcoin gambling I do not recommend FortuneJack. You can loose not only your wining but deposit as well. I just have to loose 5 mbtc of my deposit to keep my privacy safe. I guess that a lot of people play bitcoin gambling to safe privacy.... not with FortuneJack!

Not reading the TOS isn't an excuse.

It's clear that FJ detected you for having multiple accounts, therefore, you need to comply with what they are told you to do.

And the fact that it's fine for you to just have the deposit back just to avoid KYC means you really did something against the terms.

Up to you to decide, comply with the KYC or leave the site and move on.

Maybe JMF15 has donated or will donate in his home town, this guy is from Cebu Province so maybe his done so and it was not announce on public.

I agree. Also, he's one of the PBA players who first voiced out concerns about the virus spread in the country.

Just in others have missed, here's a video of him thanking all the front liners, a few days after Manila was put on quarantine

4934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping as a gambler? on: March 22, 2020, 07:48:48 PM

I don't know the difference in terms of cost of living between there and here in my country but you should be able to move on within just a few days with the amount you have a loss.  The amount loss was around $81USD as of the current exchange rate and as of my estimate based on the cost of living here, it can cover a food budget for a week within a 5 person as long as it budgeted properly.

The fact that you were able to gamble such amount meaning you are ready to face the risks. It's just that you lose.

That's shouldn't be the end of the day for you and you need to stand strong. What you need to do is to find a way to earn that amount even little by little just to cover what's lost. And the best thing you should do is to talk with your family and tell the truth. Your sleepless night should be changed into normal status since I know, your family will understand you.

Of course, charge that to experience and never take that risks as I'm telling you it's difficult to be put on lockdown. Our confirmed cases here are growing every day and I hope your country will not experience the same.

I thought first that OP is affiliated with the company but looking at the profile, it seems that he is just posting this on behalf of the company.

First of all, OP since you accept the terms of posting this for them, do you actually use the service before?

Can you share your self-review here to served as a reference?
4936  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: March 22, 2020, 12:51:07 AM
Quick update lang. Nag-request ako ng cashout from Coins.Pro eh 2:00 AM and then nareceive ko yung BTC ko after 5 hours. I think they only process cashout requests from Coins.Pro during office hours? Though I'm not sure about it. Sana naman ibalik na nila yung instant withdrawal nila. Ang saya nung mga araw na ganun eh.

Based on your waiting time bro, it's the average waiting time too based on my experience for cashout although mine takes 3 hours last time. That was I think March 1st week or February last week.

Cash-in = Instant
Cash-out = 3-5 hours

This makes me think bro if the deposit can be made instantly, why not on withdrawal? Huh Anyhow, much better compared to 2-3 days before.
4937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Corona virus (COVID19) Effect in Cryptocurrency Gambling on: March 22, 2020, 12:31:24 AM
I'm not sure about that. If they don't go to work, they've more free time so they're more likely to spend money in gambling.

As far as that context is concerned, I think of another way around.

I don't know to other countries but when the lockdown started here, work suspension at some industries immediately implemented. It's basically "no work = no pay". It means that doing gambling will surely not be considered even these people now have lots of free time to spend. Plus the fact that it's a matter of survival during a lockdown, budget is limited and should only used to basic necessities and important matters.

Unless these people are rich and have lots of spare funds to throw even in a situation like that, then yes they might continue gambling. But it will only be limited to casino games as lots of sport betting events are canceled.
4938  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading signals... on: March 21, 2020, 11:58:41 PM
He hasn't asked anyone to use his signals or pay for them. he could just be trying to display his skill or success in trading or technical analysis.
Lets be friendly to newbies or members with newbie accounts especially if they have no ill intentions  Wink

Yes, there is a disclaimer but it's not healthy to just post signals without backing it up. It's like placing random bets.

As we all know, there are crypto newbies that don't aware of this type of scheme. If we just say it's fine to follow and read signals from anyone just because it has a disclaimer not to follow them, it will just lead into a newbie's mindset that this kind of scheme will not harm them.

I do agree that maybe OP is just building statistics so for that he should work on it first for reference to others. We didn't even know if OP does actual placing of trades here.
4939  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Opera now lets US users buy crypto with Apple Pay or debit card on: March 21, 2020, 08:42:01 PM

Since it involves credit and debit cards, I will assume a KYC is mandated here?

If it does, I don't see any difference when buying through the local or global exchange.

Even Internet Explorer,Safari and Firefox are beating them.

On the desktop, I can't remember Opera beating IE and Firefox.

And on mobile especially back in the dominance of Symbian OS, I guess using Opera turned into a Handler version isn't counted as a legit stats since it was modified.
4940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: March 21, 2020, 08:05:50 PM

Guys if you read first the title, it will really come to the point to think that, "why not just stay at home"?

You need to read fully well the article before making such a conclusion. For me, it's good as long as the "conditions are met".

NBA commissioner is not dumb to propose something that will risk the people and it will be discussed well with the players. That's why all conditions must be met before executing the plan.

I don't want to give comments at each condition as I might end up on a long post lol so if you want to pinpoint some of it maybe we can exchange opinions and views towards it.
