4921  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcointalk SwC Championship Poker Series(50 mBtc added by SwC) on: April 18, 2020, 06:41:11 AM
Is everyone waiting for the last moment to join or are we getting fewer players this weekend?
I see only 12 have paid their fees and 7 taken their seats already.
I will take an afternoon nap after my lunch. So after waking up I will join. Not joining right now just to ensure that I do not lose some hands just in case I wake up late.

Quote
Side question, how many points do you think will be enough to secure a spot into the Championship game, 20 or more?
There are 4 more tourneys left so it's had to say but I do not think 20 will be enough. May be 30+ is a safe margin for now.

Bitcoin/Crypto...every day is like waking up the next day after gambling in Las Vegas..with about the same odds in my favor. Yech. Sad

Drama! The Excitement!

The 9 out of 10 missed boats and/or wrong choices!

The women/cars/money/booze/escorts/(er, wait...nevermind nothing like Las Vegas.)

I return you all to BTC/Crypto's continuing soap opera: Break my heart again, baby, I like the pain!  Sad
If you are into Poker then join today's tournament 🤪

@baodo159, Clearly they are doing some investigations of your account and if everything is fine then they will approve the withdrawal. Would not be nice to co-operate? You have to understand they do all the security checks and stuffs to keep our money safe.
Yes two days gone but it does not harm to give them some extra hours or a day.

I lost 12k chips on a single network termination. Sent an email with a screenshot. Timed out on 100pt ofc/p 2-7 & User BertBert freerolled on me cost me 54 points but I was up 14 points before that hand. Was playing a 5k NL Hyper SNG as well at that time. I lost that too but I was in a good position. Most of the chips lost during the network termination. Honestly, If this keeps going on hard to keep playing at SWC. Username hardtime.
I sent an email about this stuff happening frequently to SwC support and never received a reply. My tables are always disconnecting or freezing on me which is why I choose to play lower stakes most of the time now.
In the last bitcointalk tournament (last Sunday) I missed a hand in the pre-flop round when I had AK because of the disconnecting issue. I thought it was my internet connection but if this happened with some of you too then I think this is something to pay attention for SwC_Poker.

<snip>
This timing is very bad for me. So I miss these events.

@BitcoinGirl.club why do you use tor to connect to FJ? if its causing you so much pain, a better option for you would be is to disable tor while browsing FJ. @gosha@e-coin youre right only the admin of FJ can take a decision regarding its captcha but he wont change it because of one persons complaint, and itll only be changed if more people who use tor come forward and appeal to the admin to change it because of the issues theyre facing.

I think some people just want privacy and that is their right. For me,,, I even have no choice but to use my office connection for 90% of my browsing, which is not even my home location. So my own devices and security keep locking me out because they think someone else is giving me problems by trying to access but it is just me from work. Whitelisting also does not help as my office IP keeps changing.
The whole reason for me is privacy. I did not complain but it was a suggestion to improve the user experience. I am advertising for them so I care for them hence this was my suggestion. I gamble in sportsbet.io, swcpoker and in many other sites but I can not use FJ because of this experience. So, if they look into the TOR experience many like me will find FJ as another of their gambling home.

4935  Other / Off-topic / Suggest me a good anti virus for my laptop on: April 14, 2020, 09:50:55 AM
Except windows defender I have rarely used any anti virus. I did use AVG free and some others but always ended up uninstalling them. But lately I am feeling to have a good anti virus in my system. A free version will do the job for me. But my problem is to find a good one.

Can anyone help me a bit with some information to find which one will be better?

Thanks

I can't really understand how it is possible for someone to get addicted to smoking cigarettes... I tried to smoke a normal, filtered cigarette (Marlboro I think it was) once in my life (in my 20s), and it was one of the most horrible experiences I've ever had in my entire life! Nearly threw up!
You were not addicted so you won't feel it.

I was addicted to weed, I was addicted to alcohol, I was addicted to gambling and I was addicted to cigarettes obviously. Good thing is that I do not have any addiction to weed, alcohol and cigarettes anymore. I have not taken weed from years [last was in the year 2013 or 14 I think], is not smoking for last few months, and did not drink in the last few months too. I do gamble regularly but I know when to stop so no addiction there.

I believe it was the tobacco companies in the USA that heavily promoted cigarettes for women as a fashion/status symbol, to maximise their profits, and they succeeded.
It's no in the US only, it's all over the word. Young generations are more into it since they find it exciting and a kind of a material of showing of the alpha characters I guess.

4939  Economy / Services / Re: [Closed] Bruno's Final Exit Scam Signature Campaign on: April 14, 2020, 08:43:06 AM
It is the 2nd time I am asking in the orginal thread if anyone can get in touch to ask if the family got the money or not; no one cares.. I donated arround 150$ to his address a week ago, so far no one can confirms if those will help.
Sorry bother I missed your post (the first one).
I think none of us are sure what will happen with the funds as the funds are still there. Hopefully Bruno left some clue to any family member. I personally tried to contact with some sites where they published the news of his death but still have not got any response from them. We need to find someone who knows Bruno's family and let them to know that there are some funds for Bruno and if he left any clue for them to access it.

Quote
I guess I did everything that was in my power to help the family of a random internet person. I will remove the signature (I hope it helped a bit at least.).
Thanks for everything you did. We all tried our best to give something to Bruno.

There are no need for anyone to wear the sig and the avatar which is in the OP. I have update the spreadsheet on the other day. Not one was qualified for the payment in the 2nd round. Thanks again everyone for joining this campaign to help us spread the news for Bruno. Let Bruno rest in peace.
4940  Other / Meta / Re: Thanks theymos, Bruno has VIP status & a custom title on: April 14, 2020, 08:09:03 AM
Is it 100% confirmed that he died? That everhere.com site kind of looks like a scam...

https://www.boersmafuneralhome.com/obituary/Bruno-KucinskasJr
Yes it is confirmed I would say. I have seen the news in more than one site. So I do not think there will be any confusion.

I feel emotional after seeing such honer for Bruno. He deserved it. I hope after death in the eternal life people can see what we are doing in the earth. Seeing such things hopefully make him feel good if there are such things of course.

should the account be locked after the person died? If so, it prevents their heirs from accessing PMs or even selling the account (which is allowed). If not, then you'd have users actively posting while wearing "RIP" badges.
When I created this topic to request you, I did not have such thing in mind. I am not sure how we take this if we find out the account is active again and it was by a next of kin of Bruno? Surly that will have a completely different character.

Quote
I'm not going to do it regularly, but I'll make an exception here and give VIP status & a custom title to Phinnaeus Gage and Gleb Gamow. However, I know that these accounts changed hands in the past, and maybe arrangements have been for this to happen again in the future; therefore, if either account ever posts in the future, I will remove this stuff from the account.
May be for members who are Hero/Legendary and have long history of helping the community, we can honer them. Like Hal, and Zepher too. Extra ordinary personality stands out, handful of users will cry for them. We have seen it in Bruno's case.

There are good number of users who were voluntarily working to spread the news of Bruno's last wish and all of them did it out of love. If Bruno was not extra ordinary and loved by a major group then we would not see such activities from users around.
