4921  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-10-11]Postmortem Research: Crypto is Kicking the Bucket Slowly on: October 12, 2018, 08:59:39 PM
I think somebody should tell them that it's not a problem with cryptocurrency. They're showing this chart but their conclusions are off point.

We can see that Bitcoin did not lose much volume, Ethereum did. Last year there was a lot of unregulated scam ICOs funded with ETH. This year some countries banned them, people are much more aware of these scams and regulators are watching closely and issuing warnings and fines. Scam ICOs weren't helping Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies in any way and lack of ETH volume doesn't prove that cryptocurrencies are dying!
4922  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-10-11] Bitfinex Suspends Fiat Deposits on: October 12, 2018, 08:43:30 PM
Was this breaking news what caused the bitcoin dump? I will not be shocked if this turned out to be FUD again hehehe.

I am getting bored with this and I am certain everyone else is beginning to see through the FUD. It will only work until everyone stops believing.

Probably not. The stock market took a hit as well. S&P 500 lost 5% in the last 2 days which is more or less the same as Bitcoin.

Bitfinex is having bank problems but it's the bank they recently moved to. Maybe they were disappointed with service.
4923  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-10-09] These “Crypto” Terms Will Be Obsolete One to 10 Years From Now on: October 12, 2018, 06:33:05 PM
Hodling will exist for as long as Bitcoin. Some things become a part of the culture and will forever be associated with it. When older people think of a representations of a computer they always see a desktop PC like one of those early IBMs from the 90s. Bitcoin will be associated with that expensive pizza, silk road, mt.gox, hodlers, teenage millionaires, and many more.
4924  Economy / Services / Re: [SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN] ETHERMIUM - SENIOR - [OPEN] on: October 12, 2018, 06:11:44 PM
I wonder why so many hero members are applying here when it clearly says that they want seniors. It's in the topic name and repeated at least twice in the first post.
Tell me heroes, is reading comprehension a hard skill to master?

Also, it says 260 merit! This means that they want people who received at least 10 merit but I see legendaries with 0 received merit are applying here. Really, what is wrong with you people?
4925  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market still stagnant! on: October 12, 2018, 05:33:54 PM
do you say the market is still stagnant? sounds better than the current condition.
yesterday the price of bitcoin dropped very far, bitcoin lost $ 300 in an instant.

300 in a price of 6600 is less than 5%. Is that the volatility you were waiting for? Last week we had 3 big trades where the price moved by 3% and people didn't get scared and didn't talk about it. People complained that the market is boring. Why are you so excited by a 5% move? This isn't much bigger and did not break any important lows.
4926  Economy / Speculation / Re: CNBC Analyst Predicts Bitcoin Price Is ‘About To Explode,’ Citing ETF Buzz on: October 12, 2018, 05:28:54 PM
i don't count as well but i'm always BULLISH as f*** ,long term perspective of BTC is just as solid as a rock, its just so good in so many ways.
I'm also a long time hodler and bear or bull market, i do not deviate from the big picture and the LONG term succes ahead for BTC.

And you are wise to be bullish. There were many bear markets since the beginning of Bitcoin and the same pattern repeats every time. There's a bull run that ends with a new all time high and a bear market that follows, which always ends above the point from which the previous run launched. This means that we are in a continuing long term uptrend that lasted 8 years. Even if we went down to 3000 USD it would still be a confirmation of this pattern that in less than 2 years will take us to a new high. I can wait Smiley
4927  Economy / Economics / Re: Sick and tired of the cryptocurrency bullshit!!! on: October 12, 2018, 05:23:04 PM
Stop treating Bitcoin like some get rich scheme or a rainbow with gold on its end. It's not meant to give you anything but financial freedom. Too many people come here hoping to get rich, asking when lambo and complaining about falling markets. You should be happy that you have the chance to try out a system that relies on your actions and not the actions of your government, a clerk in the bank, the court or anybody else. The growing price is just an icing on the cake and you should treat it like a bonus.
4928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Influences Cryptos, Like It or Not! on: October 12, 2018, 05:15:34 PM
How can a country that banned Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining be influencing it?

Read through the article, but sadly it makes little sense as there was nothing as close to a concrete reason to believe that China controls Or influences the bitcoin, probably maybe when something more solid on this is brought forward we would be obliged to discuss on it.

I agree. The only way a country can influence something is through regulation. China managed to cut itself from it and made all businesses and exchanges leave the country.
4929  Economy / Speculation / Re: BOTTOM? list? the real bottomcaller on: October 12, 2018, 05:04:48 PM
If comparing to the 2013 pump, bottom in 2015 was under the prior pump past $200. Soooo, I'm thinking sub $1100 is possible. I'm more concerned with wtf is the use case of bitcoin seeing all these regulations moving in. Maybe the bottom will be zero.

Someone paying you to spread nonsense?

Of course, below $1,100 is possible, but how the fuck likely is it?

Good luck waiting for that.

As far as "not having a use case", you better do a bit of research if you are so lame as to spread that nonsensical talking point that has almost no basis in reality, if you haven't realized bitcoin to be approaching its 10th anniversary with a price spread between zero and nearly $20k, and a current correction that has been bouncing betwen $5,774 and $11k for the past 8 months (concededly at the lower end of such channel for the past five month or so), but anyhow your stupid ass blanket statement of no use cases seems to be a trolling attempt rather than any attempt at any kind of meaningful bottom calling discussion.

People who are calling for $2000 bottom are crazy and those with $1000 predictions are nothing but trolls.
If you are really comparing bear markets a drop of over 80% from ATH is very rare. You almost never see it in healthy stocks only in those that are fundamentally flawed and on their way to ruin. $1000 would be a 95% loss. If we ever witness that it will literally be the end of it and a total exodus to another asset.
4930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the worst thing you have heard about bitcoin on: October 07, 2018, 08:38:08 PM
When I first joined this platform a fried of mine told me that he heard someone saying on a phone that he has left about 200BTC oh his Hard drive which he can't find anymore and I was shocked. I think that's the worst thing I have ever heard Bitcoin.

He's asking about  the worst thing you've heard ABOUT Bitcoin. If someone losing some coins because he threw away his hard drive is the worst piece of news to some people, not the problems with Tether or various politicians and bankers calling the death of cryptocurrencies it means we are doing pretty well in PR terms Smiley
4931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: India to legalize gambling and sports betting on: October 07, 2018, 08:33:03 PM
If they do it it will be good for everyone. The economy will get a boost with new businesses paying taxes and we know that gambling means huge money and huge money mean huge taxes. People will be allowed for some more freedom which is also good. The less bans from the government the better it's a general rule that works every time.
4932  Economy / Speculation / Re: DO NOT GIVE UP !! on: October 07, 2018, 08:17:59 PM
I see that the price of Bitcoin is still around $ 6500. Maybe I am one of the many people who expect bitcoin to jump to more than $ 10,000. Until now, I can only hope this will happen in the coming months in 2018. I think being patient and having high hopes optimistically will be a loyal friend in this mind.
Thank's.

I can assure you that you are not alone waiting for these prices

That's why we are very unlikely to see them soon as quite a few people are waiting to jump off at the first opportunity, i.e. to get rid of their coins as soon as they can even if that means gaining nothing or booking some losses. There was plenty of enthusiasm and expectations of prices rebounding from levels of around 12k when the first serious wave of Bitcoin crash overwhelmed the market. And in fact, there was a rebound, a typical dead cat's bounce as it turned out later. So there is a massive amount of bitcoins waiting to get sold off. Since people are always thinking that are wiser than the rest of the pack, many are not actually going to wait that long and will be ready to liquidate faster at lower prices. And the practice confirms that hypothesis as we see a tremendous resistance instantly building up whenever there is a hint at price growth

In a sense, we are like a hamster on a treadmill, so no matter how fast we run, the wheel just spins faster

It's not always like this. In 2016 people had many opportunities to unload everything especially since they could buy at $350 and sell at $650 in a matter of weeks between April and May. It did not happen. The majority quickly forgot about the bear trend and kept buying above 600 USD. They did not want to buy at $300 2 months before but they were buying at 600 now. Inner workings of human mind.
4933  Economy / Speculation / Re: Summary Present Day > July 2022 on: October 07, 2018, 08:07:57 PM
In short BTC will fall to 5700 and recover by 150% right after. This will not happen. If 6000 is not the bottom and we will fall to 5700 it will start a huge bear wave of people selling because for us to get this low there will have to be some big bearish news. We won't go to 5700 just like that .
If it happens we won't have a recovery. People will get into their heads that 6000 wasn't the consolidation they were waiting for and sell. No 150% and no rally in early 2019.
4934  Economy / Economics / Re: The basis of being a poor- how little or how big? on: October 07, 2018, 08:02:56 PM
in fact I do not agree if people who do not have a car or do not have said to be poor. Yes, you are right. we do have to see it from another perspective. that is, people who can still make ends meet, they are not poor. poor people are people who have no home, and they ask for money from others.

Well, as for the standard definition of being poor, it would mean not being able to make ends meet and being penniless. It would actually depend on someone's perspective whether someone is poor on not because if you are living in a city wherein everyone in the neighbor hood has a car and you have none then you can be considered poor to them but if you go to the province and most people in there are just getting by and you are earning well compared to them then you are considered well off for them. It is about being below average in a place wherein you can be considered poor or not.

Then by today's standard someone living in a wooden hut in the woods would be considered poor, even if that person has his own garden, water source, solar panels to provide electricity, and is living on his own piece of land. It's funny how the world changes. 100 years ago nobody would call that man poor. Now if you don't have a car and a mobile phone people are treating you like a caveman.
4935  Economy / Economics / Re: Apart from trading where else to use crypto? on: October 07, 2018, 07:58:06 PM
I'm using cryptocurrencies as a store of value and as a backup. If anything goes wrong in my life there's always that small amount of money that nobody will be able to take from me. That amount that will allow me to reset everything and start my life somewhere else without having to be a beggar. It's good to have getaway money that won't depend on the situation in your country.
4936  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New Cloud Mining FlashyHash.com is legit? on: October 07, 2018, 07:49:07 PM
2 year contracts Cheesy They will be long gone in less than a year.
How many more scams we need to have before people realize that cloud mining companies are shady? All their promises are empty words. They can't promise you 6USD from every 3USD invested. It's a 100% profit every year! If you started to mine 6 months ago you would be on the loss at this point instead of having 50% profit!
4937  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-10-05] The average bitcoin investor really is young, rich and male on: October 07, 2018, 07:45:40 PM
Most of the people I know who are into crypto are nutters, grannies, scumbags and maniacs. But that's mainly because I'm responsible for infecting them.

It doesn't matter what the current crop of owners thinks of crypto. All they have to do is keep it alive and they can make an orderly exit when a better class of user usurps them.

Those that I know are young poor people who see it as a way of getting out of this poverty and they are proving to be exceptionally good at it. Or maybe it's because Bitcoin has a way of rewarding patience. The survey got one thing right about me. I'm young, the rest is exactly the opposite.
4938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 229: Khabib vs McGregor Prediction and Info Thread on: October 07, 2018, 06:06:03 PM
^^  hilariousandco, I think this is different.  Khabib and a couple of other guys commited at least three cases of battery live on PPV in front of 25m - 50m viewers worldwide.  I don't know if Khabib will get off this one lightly.

And I don't think I would be giving McGregor some credit.  I'm a fan but after what's said and done coming into this event, he couldn't back it up vs Khabib.  It's quite embarassing imho.

I think McGregor needs to get in the gym & work hard instead of posting stuff on instagram about how rich he is etc.
Sometimes when sportsmen get the money & fame they lose the hunger & forget how hard they used to train to get there in the first place.

Whilst Mcgregor was having a year off after the birth of his son Khabib was probably skinning bears with his bare hands & eating them raw & running 10km a day in freezing cold temperatures in Siberia Grin

I like this comment so much. We could see that McGregor wasn't in his best form this time. I saw him dancing around his opponents throwing super fast punchest all round and this time a little wrestling in first round gassed him out for the rest of the match. You could see that he got very slow after first round and continued until finally he got choked. Nate must be proud of himself, he showed people how to defeat Conor.
4939  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2 life sentences +40 years for The Silk Road creator (PETITION FOR CLEMENCY) SIG on: October 07, 2018, 05:59:02 PM
He profited off the game and got greedy, Paid to have people killed.  He's a gangster. You says it was just for running a website, no it wasn't just for that. He facilitated as the creator of this website, the buying and selling of drugs, and black market activities internationally. Thats illegal. He broke laws and he got caught. Yeah i get it, it's cool he started this whole new era of Black market E-commerce, but fuck man, he got caught breaking the LAW. He unlocked pandora's box in some sense. Pros and cons but i'm looking at the aspect of him breaking the law which he did. So that's why they put him in there to rot. Of course now we know the threat of punishment does not deter crime, but when has that stopped the US govt from locking people up and enslaving them.

Haha. You're talking like Breaking the law is something incredible. People, including you, are breaking the law many times each year by jaywalking, driving over the speed limit, not paying tickets and taxes, smoking weed. In most countries you don't even spend a day in jail for doing it.
He broke the law, that's a fact, but I can't imagine someone getting a life sentence in any European country for creating a website. It's restricted only to most dangerous, hardened criminals. Even murderers get between 15 and 25 years in prison.
4940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to prevent selling your bitcoin prematurely, use this strategy on: October 06, 2018, 08:59:42 PM
If you're afraid of losing money, putting some of it into altcoins instead of bitcoin is stupid. Altcoins are even more volatile than bitcoin and on top of that they depend on bitcoin. If bitcoin is in a bear market altcoins are too, but if bitcoin is in a bull market, not all altcoins have to be. This means that if you have $20000 to invest and put 3 into altcoins to be safer you will in fact be even less safe than if you put it all in Bitcoin!
