I start to worry when that meme gets repeated airings.

Yep....keanu reeves could pretty much kill BTC just from excessive memes...he is evil....lol ) Smiley

4922  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why I want the BTC ATH $1242 breached and become the floor. To Kill FUD dead. :) on: March 02, 2017, 07:18:56 PM
If ETF was to go thru then expect $10,000 bitcoin by the end of the year. Shocked
That is a given I would say. Wink

Hope you are an Oracle. I have 💯 BTC!

4926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: March 01, 2017, 02:12:24 PM
Looks like Alpha is claiming to be a few hundred thousand in the hole according to their latest filing

...eventually their lawyers will say they played this out enough (2-3yrs) and can claim bankruptcy then and cry and claim it was not a scam etc etc

from what i understand... they are lawyers.

ACK! Makes sense though on why they are in their words ...planning to release something.  Or so the
Scam goes to keep the authorities away. Only reason that makes a lick of sense.

It is always quiet before the storm: March 11th is upon us. I think everybody is waiting that hence the trading stagnation.
This is history in the making  Smiley

I think they are gonna fail the ETF a few days before...just to pull the same stunt the IRS pulled with 'guidelines' in 2013 10 days before the
tax deadline saying BTC spent (mined) etc conditions.

its how bureaucrats roll don't ya know Sad

I also think BTC will dump as a result ..but worse case won't be under 1k imho

we will be the first to know I guess

Since you have this opinion may i please ask?
Do you hold bitcoins right now ? Because with this in my mind i would sell now to buy back lower. right?

I have 💯 btc or will eol Titan miners

I gripe but I always  hold. Can't lose imho.
4928  Economy / Speculation / Re: If we didnt had idiots blocking segwit we would be sittting on 4 figures by now on: March 01, 2017, 07:57:36 AM
SegWit and technologies built on it are grossly oversold (Posted on February 27, 2017)

Final nail to the coffin of SegWit. It is now proven to be not delivering on its promises. Check out the above article.

I hope SegWit gets rejected fast because it's holding back bitcoin from boosting into 5 figures. SegWit is like a sore loser who is unwilling to get out of the way when obviously the majority does not like it and wants it gone. It will never get activated it will just sit on there and hold everything back like a douchebag.
The author of that article is an outright and delusional troll. It was refuted easily by Maxwell: http://www.deadalnix.me/2017/02/27/segwit-and-technologies-built-on-it-are-grossly-oversold/#comment-357655

I've no clue on who is correct on this block size debate..I will say again that from what I can tell the bitcoin core devs have no care about transaction fee rises nor confirmation times or other stuff that makes BTC anything remotely like being used as currency..they see BTC as a store of value (gold) only it seems to me...thus as long as price rises and no protocol to go over the current block size...they will call it a win and move on imho

not a happy camper about the lack of talk between the 2 camps on a solution ..but again feel as long as price of btc rises and works as a store of value...bitcoin core folk will just putter along with their vision..thus stalemate on this issue far into the future

maybe bitcoin core is correct and it don't matter ..but the FUD just sucks on the lack of even discussion on somehting in between..but again don't code nor know zip on which camp is right nor even if it matters....just what I THINK I am following from the bleachers...from the actions of all involved...it kinda looks lame for the above reasons to me anyway..this lack of any real movement or attempt to work it out

4929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hacking KNC Neptune / Jupiter / Titan miners back to life. Why not? on: March 01, 2017, 07:46:20 AM
Anyone on here want to 'compile' this or anything linux wise you need to do to get me a copy (or on here) that is simple to set up?

Me ..the last thing I coded was applesoft BASIC in 1979 I think it was...I got as far as the LOOP command and quit and never looked back Smiley

IF someone can get me something to try..WITH lightfoots qberty bridge board fix..I'll have 5 controllers (pi) then and enough beagle bones

and jupiters left to play with an install

then perhaps...once the above is done...I can then link the file on here I used from above (making it idiot proof for me)

and then I can further make instructions on how to use that file and/or my results

(yes I am that lame...the .bin file install from KNC had me confused for days back in 2013 on the first update)

we also serve who have no coding skills.....but I can play minon and put the stuff on a couple cards and test

reply here and/or pm me if anyone hacks together something a novice can get up on an SD card

brad

edit: gen tarkin you on? in on this action? ....setup a a donation page for lightfoot and then do your own magic on the GUI and or your other tweaks for a bit of $$$ on your page
for this version ....I myself think lightfoot should get some compensation for this but he seems firm on the pm it is not needed..still giving him a donation link and a jump off
point to port your tarky titan stuff to a BBB would be kinda keen....thou having a mess of 1 cube units using BBB's  whirlying about the house may be a bit of overkill Smiley

Roger Ver (BU) vs Tone Vays (SegWit) - Bitcoin Scaling Debate

I dont mind competition, it's healthy but SW is still the best update Bitcoin can have just from a technical point of view. Also, i dont hate Roger but he sounds like a troll in the video  Undecided

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdyIJ-BUPaU

So over the last two decades or so, did you ever see two ignorant layperson outsiders debating the finer points of what should or shouldn't go into the Linux core kernel, while Torvald's dev team sat patiently on the sidelines awaiting their devine verdict?

Nah, me neither.  Try hard not to laugh at how absurd that would be.

Yeah. Some Linux devs said on some stuff they'd almost come to blows. But no one
Cared about Linux at that point of open source development angst. The problem with
BTC is at same timeline all that money and all this dev attention etc. ugh.

Wish I could find the link. But you pretty much nailed this in your post.
4932  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone want to do a Baikal Groupbuy? on: February 27, 2017, 08:28:04 AM
Wut!!! Someone sold mini's at 150? Instead of 300. I only knew 300$ with 10% discount.

I could be wrong..but I seem to remember the page saying 150 usd at one time and I was very tempted..perhaps it was an error....but 90%
sure I looked at that price for a long time on that page...but alas..did not jump into the pool...ran away (coward that I am..) Sad

4933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Charlie Lee just lazy? on: February 27, 2017, 08:25:58 AM
He just has bigger fish to fry..from what I understand most of his fortune is now in BTC anyway.

My concern has always been the lack of asking questions......what do you guys want from LTC....is there some innovation we can add?

just the months w/o any news at all in the past...shows if not being lazy..just a lasse fare I don't care attitude

you can only ride on btc coat tails so long imho...right now LTC looks like it is going the way of Scrypt-N coins...lots of mining briefly

blew up the coin....down to worthlessness..lots of pow scrypt miners now trying to mine LTC but no price support nor development support

and other alts competing now vs 2013-2015...not a good group of actions/options to bounce up from in use and or price

does not bode well, but I guess it makes sense if the devs are not excited about LTC then it is hard to get a base/group of others to embrace LTC

my 2 ltc's worth

soon (tm bfl) in two weeks (tm bfl) to the moon (paycoin gaw)

alpha (we regret not getting ) tm alpha

they are simply playing this out to keep the British authorities at bay at this point in time......eventually their lawyers will say
they played this out enough (2-3yrs) and can claim bankruptcy then and cry and claim it was not a scam etc etc

only reason this farce is still ongoing in my view...or they would have pulled the plug and gone bankrupt 2 years ago

4935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone want to do a Baikal Groupbuy? on: February 27, 2017, 07:47:15 AM

@Longsnowsm   Thanks you for all your helping in this topic, really appreciate it. If you need, I will apply one more mini miner for you.

Mini miner we don't have much in stock at present, so, the rest will only be available for new customer and limited the purchase quantity at one unit before reproduction.

By the way, recently, we have received some messages about the potential scams on skype, how to identify official baikal skype, please take a look at below topic:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1804508.0

Always be careful when you decide to do the payment. We are really grateful for all your trust on baikal and we do not want any baikal users be scamed by anyone. please help us let more people see it. Smiley

yeah I should probably get one..but still on the fence...probably should have gotten a mini on your 150 usd sale...alas....life issues

Someday maybe Smiley *running my TItan's into the dirt at the low LTC price...when they go doorstop I will have to look into these units*

anyway from the sidelines...a suggestion....raise your warranty to like 180 days like Bitmain..if you are having NO real issues on RMA's and returns...would look good with little risk

just my view

by the by ....when is your next miner model coming out (fall 2017 maybe) ....er if you can't say a simple 'likely in fall we will have a new model miner..also works for me) Smiley

later

4936  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 26, 2017, 10:49:04 AM

petty perhaps..but then again I have no life...what this as a 'gimmie' (I'm on here an't I ......thus rest my case of needing lame stuff like this......life wise) Smiley

You have almost 100 Bitcoins. If the price rises by 5x you can buy yourself a life like bender.

yeah.....true....but 25% of them I have to wait a year to spend or 40% capital gains etc....(don't plan on it)

kinda interesting thou...at 95 btc now will be at a bit more then 100 btc at end of titans...will have ZERO invested at that time..thus 'mined' my way
out of it (dumb luck ..it was all dumb luck.not really kidding on that either)

thus ...life is the same..I'm still bored and on here.....even if what you say is true.....would reguire I get off my butt and go someplace

but then again I retire at 65 so 3 years to go from march on.... so we will see

I must admit ....if you can tuck some away (attic mine the junk in my attic on ebay to buy btc is my next goal now that home mining is dead) anyway

it does seem to make a big mental diff on your outlook on the whole thing...from your point 5x up sure.....from the other side it all goes 'tulips' the

only thing invested is time/labor/hobby

probably as close to thinking like Warren Buffet and using money (in this case as a tool only) as I'm ever gonna get close to..

but again was mostly circumstances and luck ..others on here can point that out in more detail

we will see..but it is an entirely weird way to look at this whole crypto/btc/ltc mining etc thing now since 2013 when I started...

hopefully whatever your amount of crypto you have will go up 10x ...thus you will be in my current position $$$ wise at that point ..and me...

well I'll just be further befuddled about the whole thing yet at a bigger $$$ level Smiley

its weird thou I'll give you that

4937  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 26, 2017, 09:47:03 AM
It's going back up to the old bitstamp ATH. I doubt the dump won't last long. After the banks open on Monday it will probably break above the gox ATH.

Yeah ....just for a mental game of .....about time that happens...I'd like the mt. gox all time high shattered and the price of BTC to go above gold

and that be the NEW floor at worst...

mainly because I was a newbie in 2013 and the ATH was made...and it would be just mentally nice to have it all be new territory on price and adoption

from that point on.......no more revisiting the past ATH from 2013 and of course just to be 1 up on gold price as a fact would also be nice

petty perhaps..but then again I have no life...what this as a 'gimmie' (I'm on here an't I ......thus rest my case of needing lame stuff like this......life wise) Smiley

4938  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: February 26, 2017, 12:44:22 AM
What was the price? Yuan is Ok I can convert to usd. Curious

4939  Economy / Speculation / Re: Soon BTC will pass Gold Price. When? Comment with a [POLL] on: February 25, 2017, 11:01:58 AM
It may not pass it. Soon it will be announced whether the bitcoin etf has been approved or not. If it has, the price will keep climbing. If it has not, the price will drop alot. That's what I fear. Both of these scenarios are supporting the anti-bitcoin user's arguments that bitcoin is too volatile.

I'm tempted to agree with you about the ETF....BUT in this case I don't think so.

My logic is that with EVERYONE saying the ETF only has a 1 out of 4 chance to pass...I think in this case the price is built in.....sure it may dump 10% if the ETF
does not pass...but folk that are putting money in BTC NOW imho ...are NOT doing so on an ETF pump of any note.

The price is going up on the past actions in the last year of BTC doubling and FOMO...

now IF the ETF did pass..then it would be bubble city and it would all bubble/surge/pop at that point

I just don't see it with the ETF odds at this time, adding all that much to the price...

anyway we will see I guess

edit: on the othe hand if the folk giving the rubber stamp to the ETF are anything like the IRS and HATE us pesky (non-banker) BTC types..they will wait to March 10th
and THEN say it is a no go....Like the IRS did on guidelines in 2013 for mining and BTC and crypto announced it 10 days before the April 15th tax filing day or some such.

If so on March 10th we will be provided with a bit of MIRTH by the powers that be..if they slap it down then.....to try and put us minions with tulip money in our place Smiley

A bureaucratic Yuk Yuk at our expense Smiley

4940  Economy / Speculation / Re: Soon BTC will pass Gold Price. When? Comment with a [POLL] on: February 25, 2017, 09:33:48 AM
This would be nice to say, but is it really important? I have a more interesting question, that was also asked a few times. Besides the fact that people do not see the need for possessing gold, the also feel like not having enough money to buy it. And it is more and more the same with Bitcoin. We should really think about going to bit or any other smaller denomination. Especially if the ETF is approved. If we do it later people will wonder what happened and feel like Bitcoin crashed.

Yep I agree......as a 'comeback' on the old 'btc is tulips' argument thou......BTC at above the value of Gold and more or less with that as a price floor from now on..sure would be nice Smiley

But yeah...a floor over a 1000 usd per btc and bringing the usage back to  like 1.00 mbit would be handy as well Smiley
