4941  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How anonymous is BTC/Can they find my name? on: November 28, 2019, 07:25:51 PM
Why is he asking for your name? If he is going to send you some bitcoins, all he needs is your wallet address, nothing else.
My guess is that you are using a service that requires KYC! Even if this is the case, you have the right to withdraw to any address you want... be it your wife's address or anyone else's.
I don't recommend using platforms that require KYC though.

Anyway, the short answer to your question: if you are going to give them your wife's address, it's unlikely that they will be able to link it to her name.

Why don't you create your own binance account or use a desktop wallet to receive the payment?!
on: November 27, 2019, 11:07:36 PM

4943  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transaction Labels Visible Only to Receiver/Sender? on: November 27, 2019, 09:12:54 PM
Labels are not visible to anyone but you unless the address is registered in the blockchain with signed message. If both the receiver & sender have labeled their address wih signed message, this will be visible in the blockchain.
I believe there is a small confusing here. Blockchain.com is a block explorer, it's not the blockchain.
Whenever you add a tag to one of your public addresses it will be only visible on blockchain.com for all transactions sent from/to that address. If you use another block explorer, you will not be able to see that tag as it's been saved only on blockchain.com database and not on the blockchain.
4944  Economy / Reputation / Re: What happen to ICOEthics? on: November 27, 2019, 07:01:54 PM
So ICOEthics was a team? And not just a single person? ....
my guess is someone had stopped supporting them that's why they haven't continued their work ever since, it's the only logical explanation I see that a team suddenly stops doing good in the forum.
It's clear from their reply here that they are a team but never said how many they were.
Also, they affirmed that there is no financial motivation behind what they do:
We always did FREE work and we will continue to do FREE work for the community.
They even had an address for donations but didn't receive a single Satoshi.
My guess is that they are working on something more interesting. It's their call after all.

Someone from Meta board may be help me understand this:

Isn't strange that a newbie has an avatar ?? I thought this was limited for staff members who work in accounts recovery with Cyrius .

Back in the days newbies were allowed to add avatars.
The rule limiting uploading avatars to full members and above was introduced in April 2015.
Avatars re-enabled

4949  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcasino.io complaint - Am I Wrong? on: November 26, 2019, 04:12:39 PM
@game-protect,
yes he did. He never said that he didn't receive the advertised reward:
Throughout all the levels I received milestone rewards.

He is not complaining about not receiving his reward. He is complaining about rewards for the VIP tier not being good enough.
As a loyal customer, he has the right to ask for more. But there is no scam here.
Let's wait for the 1st of December and see if BitCasino will keep their promises and add more milestone rewards.
4950  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 10% collateral BTC loan...real or scam? on: November 25, 2019, 11:12:35 PM
Listen to your friends and to what other members told you here: it is a SCAM! stay away from it.
Transactions on blockchain do not prove they are legit. Maybe it is a group of scammers sending coins to each other.

If they are willing to send you 0.1BTC after you send them 0.01BTC then I don't think they will mind giving you a 0.09 loan without collateral  Grin
4951  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What fee / byte (sat / byte) on: November 25, 2019, 10:08:16 PM
If you are not in a hurry then 1sat/byte should be enough.

Does it matter if I send 0.00001 btc or 1 btc?
No, what matters is the transaction size which depends basically on the number of inputs and outputs.

It is advised to use segwit addresses to reduce transactions fees.
BlueWallet on: November 24, 2019, 10:35:37 AM
@Salamstar,

@barota,

http://neocashradio.com/blog/how-to-rebroadcast-a-transaction-on-blockchain-info/

Quote

Quote

4955  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Continues Downfall in Bitcoin Circulation threating traders on: November 23, 2019, 10:51:21 PM
Actually, some studies allege that more than 4 million bitcoins are lost forever. More Bitcoins will be lost in the future. This is due to a variety of reasons such as the death of the wallet owner, lost private keys, burning coins...

What you should know is that it doesn't really matter. Satoshi answered those concerns 10 years ago:
Eventually at most only 21 million coins for 6.8 billion people in the world if it really gets huge.

But don't worry, there are another 6 decimal places that aren't shown, for a total of 8 decimal places internally.  It shows 1.00 but internally it's 1.00000000.  If there's massive deflation in the future, the software could show more decimal places.

and

Those coins can never be recovered, and the total circulation is less.  Since the effective circulation is reduced, all the remaining coins are worth slightly more.
4956  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Some problematic things about Coinbase on: November 23, 2019, 09:15:16 PM
The only issues I've heard of are when someone uses their addresses for casino games or sports betting.
Sending funds from exchanges to other exchanges or casinos is not recommanded because the latter or most of them will generate deposting addresses that have an expiry date and exchanges do not process withdrawal requests instantally.

When it comes to delaying transfers, they do so for security reasons. They are simply afraid of being accused of money laundering. It is possible that they do it too carefully.
Maybe. But this is not an excuse to not responding to their customers open support tickets.
4957  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: new bitcoin segwit wallet for android with sweep on: November 23, 2019, 07:50:53 PM
....
If this was written by the wallet developers then no one should use it or even download it. It is clear that they have no idea about what blockchain is or how it works, how can we expect them to have the knowledge needed to develop a wallet App!
4958  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Suggestions for protecting your email privacy on: November 23, 2019, 05:22:38 PM
@Basikan, a temporary email is simply a throwaway email. it gives you a temporary address and you can check your inbox without having to create an accout.
Most tempmail are self-destructed after a short time from their creation. Therefore, don't use it to receive important emails that you may need later.

This service is mostly used to receive the confirmation email when creating an account (throwaway account) on a forum for example.

Here is some websites you can use to create one:
https://10minemail.com/                   (self-destructed after 10 mins by default)
https://www.tempmailaddress.com/   (self-destructed after 60 mins by default)
https://temp-mail.org/en/                 (self-destruct manually)
4959  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: {Warning}: Bitaddress.org Phishing websites on: November 23, 2019, 04:20:24 PM
It is best to learn how to verify the signature of this site
The problem is when downloading the zipped file from a phishing website, verifying its signature won't do you any good as each phishing website has its own pgp file that matches the downloaded file and will show it as genuine.
Here is an example:

When you click the PGP link it will redirect you to their own PGP key hosted on their server.

4960  Economy / Reputation / Re: NEGATIVE FEED on: November 23, 2019, 02:26:15 PM
The topic is no longer available. From mod log it seems you are talking about this one: "X2 your BTC in 100 hours Decentralized Investment Blockchain: Boublr". It has been removed by a moderator.

You were promoting a shady service which is a frowned upon act by the community. I believe it is a justified tag.
However you can PM condoras and try to convince him to remove the negative feedback.
