4941  Economy / Lending / Re: Banco De Kluge (BDK) - [Out of BTC, ATM] Now Accepting Deposits! on: February 01, 2012, 11:58:56 AM
Celebrate my birthday with "special" birthday CDs all week. Each CD will return .5% greater percentage points per 30D the CD is out on principal. So, if a 30D CD and you take it out before the end of the week (2/5/12), instead of that CD paying the usual 2.5% + principal at the end of its 30D duration, it will now pay 3% + principal. 90D CDs, instead of paying 9.75% + principal when due, will now pay 11.25%.

Let me buy your love, then destroy you by abusing that trust!

ETA: I/O report for January is now finished and posted in spreadsheet listed near the top of the OP. January saw a profit of 4.677BTC after donating 5.198 BTC between IBB & BTC100.
4942  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 200btc one month loan on: February 01, 2012, 11:35:29 AM
I can give you 50 BTC @ 3% interest.
I'm willing to do the remaining 150BTC on the same condition, for a total repayment of 154.5BTC due no later than January 31st. I'd send you the BTC via instantly-redeemable MtGox code (don't have BTC client where I am right now) and expect payment via BTC client or with similar MtGox code.

154.50 btc repayment sent to 1LgJfyNohgkyzogxksENpNTy1vafZP9T6
Confirmed. Thanks, AR.  Smiley
4943  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 1-week loan of 16 BTC, pays back 18 BTC (SATISFIED) on: January 31, 2012, 09:29:59 PM
Crap, need 1 more BTC in this loan. I forgot about transaction fees and am trying to send a very specific amount for asthetic purposes.

Will pay back 2 BTC for this additional 1 BTC.

Again, address is:

*snip*

Thanks!
-BA

Done. Please repay 19 BTC (total for both loans) by 2/7/12. No interest necessary on the 1 BTC extra.

[NECRO!]

Could we have this re-reviewed by a moderator/admin, please. I'm not sure "SCAMMER" is really appropriate in this situation.

4947  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll :: When will Bitcoin reach $1 Billion total value on: January 31, 2012, 07:47:26 PM
Lending is the ultimate long position, but $1b is insane. Governments would start getting really aggressive at that point.

Insane? It's required! Now you cannot even pay a car with Bitcoin without moving the market.
AFAIK, nobody buys cars with Bitcoin (at least not cars worth enough to move the market). Bitcoins are great for novelties, drugs, and discounted gift cards, but video cards are generally the most expensive items users typically buy (pulling that statistic out of my ass, but I don't think many would argue). The Bitcoin exchange rate is extremely volatile, and I don't imagine there are many people willing invest a significant sum of money in a currency which fluctuates 10% in price day-to-day (it's certainly kept me up at night). I don't see any signs of that volatility going away, and while it remains, nobody's going to post in the lending subforum requesting an $80k home mortgage.

You are setting an OUGHT to the current IS. If I thought the current state of Bitcoin is the summit, I'd be out as fast as a transfer goes to MtGox.
I don't think BTC is at its peak, fwiw. I don't recall a time when BTC didn't fluctuate at least 10% in value from the high to low for a week since I've started mining ~April/May '11, however. It's possible BTC could reach $1b in total value, possible God exists as defined by the KJV Bible, and possible Sasquatch exists in space and is plotting the demise of the human race.

for me personally, Gavin was a huge reason i decided to support Bitcoin.  i graduated from a top notch graduate institution and as snooty as it might sound, he being a Princeton graduate does carry some credibility.  its a vetting process whether we like it or not.

there are many brilliant people here on the Forum.  Luke is obviously one of them.  but i would never put my support behind even THE most brilliant if i never met them and had a chance to evaluate their integrity.

brilliance can be used for subversion.

just sayin' as well.

WTF you are talking about? USA elections still far away...

you want to convince me that Gavin is a good father ( I saw his album ) and Luke was jerking when he was 18  and smoking weed every other day.. this is why BIP 16 is better???
I think we're now talking about who to throw off the Bitcoin development bus (and who to anoint as the supreme, ultimate, forever, etc. etc. dictator of Bitcoin client development), as if we have a say or are involved with Bitcoin's development on that level. I would still prefer to see a fist-fight to the death.
4949  Economy / Marketplace / Re: gold or silver bars as heirlooms? on: January 31, 2012, 07:27:56 PM
"Smart fellow, my dad. If these weren't so heavy, I'd be glad he's dead." (Well... your children may have different feelings.) Was left a bunch of silverware and platinum-lined china. No idea what to do with it. China's too fragile to be practical, and too expensive to break, but they're also expensive to ship properly -- metal's too difficult to extract and melt to be worth selling it at melt value, so gave to brother-in-law (actually... we left it at the house and are telling him we're giving it to him. Doubt he'll be pleased.). Silverware was tarnished, and I have no interest in maintaining the metal utensils I use to transfer TVP+Velveeta into my mouth. That's still with us, but it'll just end up being forgotten in a box in some back-room.

Bars, though, are easy to sell. There's no significant value to them aside from melt value, so very practical. I would be much more pleased to have received silver bars than silver utensils.

That went quick. You guys sure know how to make a fellow feel poor.  Tongue

Quite interested in taking deposits if anyone's willing -- Have plenty of loan requests I'm unable to fulfill. I'll bump the thread when I have BTC to loan again. Assuming nobody's interested in buying CDs as I've outlined in the OP, it probably won't be for at least a week while I deal with a backlog of loan requests.

When I get a few more loans repaid, I'll be donating an amount to the extremely helpful moderator Maged, who has put in a good bit of time keeping this subforum free of scammers and alerting us to serious problems with people looking for loans. Both lendees and lenders are more able to prosper with mods like him helping ensure loans are going to people for the right reasons, and not because they hijacked an account. His donation address is 1MagedVeZqDtU4Jh5BdgvHpcWk9dXFzZY8 -- check out his Scammer alert thread @ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=61500.0

I guess we can write off a productive future with both of them developing, due to hostilities.

There's only one thing to do.

FIGHT TO THE DEATH!!!

Lending is the ultimate long position, but $1b is insane. Governments would start getting really aggressive at that point.

.... But there's a 5BTC prize, and "never" can never be paid out, so I'll predict $1b BTC total value on 23rd June, 2014.

4955  Economy / Lending / Re: Requesting: 100 BTC, 7 Day Loan on: January 31, 2012, 10:23:00 AM
I'd be willing to do 50BTC, with 5% principal due @ end of loan -- so 52.5BTC due on 2/7/12
4956  Economy / Lending / Re: Banco De Kluge (BDK) - ~5%-10% MPR Loans, Up to 90D. Now Accepting Deposits! on: January 31, 2012, 03:43:23 AM
Back open with BTC to lend. BTC to lend should be coming in rapidly after a few days for a couple months. I'm also now willing to accept deposits (see OP for rates). Will finalize the January "I/O report" when I wake up and start on February's report. Rates have been updated given new information on other lenders' loan performance. PPUSD/DwollaUSD loans are still disallowed until I'm at a ratio of USD:BTC I'm comfortable with ($11k in BTC does make me just a tad uncomfortable Wink ).

Fwiw, I'll be sleeping, doing family stuff for 10h from posting, so see someone else if you're in need of a loan immediately. If you want a loan at listed rate, please follow the posted requirements and send me a PM. Smiley

Forgot to announce, BDK also pledges 2% loan profit (+ a 5BTC initial pledge) to BTC100. BTC100 was created to entice charities to accept BTC for donations.
4957  Economy / Lending / Re: [fully funded] Loan: 40 BTC, pay back 110% in one month on: January 31, 2012, 03:02:27 AM
I can confirm repayment of the 5.1 BTC owed to me

Thanks very much.
I can also confirm (slowness was on my end, not lendee's). Thanks, tsvekric.

First inter-bank loan in the history of Bitcoin was done right here, I believe. Smiley

Please pay 57.5 BTC to 1LgJfyNohgkyzogxksENpNTy1vafZP9T6 by 3/6/12.

Matt - you're onto something, even if you don't think so. This is the next polytetrafluoroethylene. Will you be listing on GLBSE?

Is the domain available?
