4941  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: CoinJoin Alternatives to Wasabi on: April 27, 2022, 11:37:13 AM
Also, if there are any other CoinJoin services that are EASY to use (for beginners), please share!
I know some people had many complains regarding Samourai coinjoin implementation, and they are even calling it a scam, so be aware of that.
There is one more option that is in my opinion good alternative for coinjoin, it is simple to use and it's called Mercury wallet.
Mercury is open source Layer 2 Bitcoin wallet for sending and swapping bitcoin privately, and it is based on transferring of private keys with something called statechains.

Here is one interesting talk about Coinjoins and Coinswaps: Collaborative Bitcoin Transactions from Bitcoin 2022 Conference:

So you're saying Ratimov caused Medium to block Bitcointalk's image proxy? It could be they didn't mind just a few images being hotlinked, but don't like it on a massive scale.
No I am not saying that.
All I am saying is that probably nobody else is using images from Medium like this, so it would be statistical error to change anything in forum just because of him (unless he is some VIP).
Medium probably blocked some other similar websites, not just bitcointalk image proxy.
4943  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How can you verify the randomness that's coming from a hardware? on: April 27, 2022, 10:35:43 AM
So, how do we verify that the hardware doesn't generate predictable entropy, regardless of whether the wallet developers have bad intentions or not? I don't care about the OS, let's assume you use an open-source one; my focus is on those who build the hardware that is used to generate randomness.
Last year I wrote a topic about seed generation in hardware wallets and you can find some useful information there, but true randomness is a problem for software wallets also.
I think that software wallets are even worse than hardware wallets and it doesn't really matter much if they are open source or not.
Hardware wallets are mostly using combination of several elements mixing entropy of computer and device, and some are using closed source secure element for that.
Only verifiable seed generation for hardware wallets I was able to find was for Passport, Kestone, Coldcard, Trezor and BitBox02 walllet, others are more like a black box.

One true way to be sure that seed phrase is truly random is by using properly tested casino dices, so you don't have to trust any chips or computers that create fake random results that can be reproduced.

4944  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: VanitySearch (Yet another address prefix finder) on: April 27, 2022, 10:20:27 AM
Again, the service isn't ready but at this point right now feedback is crucial as we near launch. We strive to be the definitive service in splitkey generation.
I don't think that sending private keys via email is a good option, especially when we know most people are using one email address and it's most likely gmail.
Just for fun I tested the pricing using various characters and I think price is fair (few bucks only) if I pick up to six characters, but it grows much higher adding just one more character.
I have to be honest and say that I honestly don't know why would I use 1splitkey when I can just generate my own vanity address for free with my computer.

Last year I did something similar, just for Luada's funeral:

4945  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bittrex - Next generation exchange (btc/ltc/eac/ppc/rdd/ftc/and more) on: April 27, 2022, 09:58:52 AM
It's only for Bitcoin.
I bet they do that voluntarily because they are big blockers and treat BTC like garbage (you can't even withdraw to a segwit address).
They could be just lazy for not supporting segwit, and they are busy listing shitcoins (according to their twitter account), but why would they do that voluntarily and shoot themselves in the foot?
After Tether/USD and some Chain shitcoin pair, Bitcoin has the biggest volume on Bittrex, and I can't find any failed bitcoin forks listed there have any significant volume.
4946  Other / Archival / Re: Forum no longer friendly with content from Medium on: April 27, 2022, 09:37:14 AM
I could allow Medium images to be hotlinked directly rather than being proxied through ip.bitcointalk.org. Medium blog owners wouldn't have access to the IP logs from this, right? Does anyone think that this would be a bad idea?
Anyone knows how many people here are actually doing something similar like Ratimov?
I don't know anyone else who is using medium images like this, and I don't think we need to change anything in forum just to make one person more comfortable Wink
He said that images showed before in forum, that means Medium made some recent changes with blocking the image proxy.

The worst part is: i usually have even more tabs open... I especially did some closing before taking a pic, leaving only the tabs i really need open
I think you have serious case of multi tab addiction sir.
People say woman are usually better in multitasking, but I guess they never examined bitcointalk members  Cheesy
4947  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Uniswap Starts Blocking Addresses Linked To 'Blocked Activities' on: April 27, 2022, 09:25:59 AM
What do you think about this Step from one of the most decentralized finance exchange UniSwap?
Uniswap or any similar cloned website were never really decentralized, so I am not surprised by this move for blocking addresses in exactly the same way like centralized exchanges are doing.
I don't know what more proof anyone needs to realize their is nothing decentralized about that, and if you dig deeper you will find more dark secrets who operates with fake dex exchange.
Only true decentralized exchange I know is Bisq, used with Bitcoin without some shady extension mask wallets like for uniswap.

The SeedSigner kits have been updated and can now be configured to come with any of the available enclosures. The SeedSigner Kit Sale ends with this month as well.
Looks very good!
I see that you added options to manually select enclosure, and Lil'Pill is even cheaper than OrangePill enclosure.
One suggestion I have for you is to add separate images for this three options, or it could be confusing for some newbies ordering SeedSigner Kit.
4949  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which token has lowest transaction fees in Gate.io stock on: April 26, 2022, 07:21:40 PM
Hello, I would like to ask, which token has the lowest fees to withraw in Gate.io stock, except of Neo and Tron.
I need some token which is listed in coinbase pro and I don't want to pay high transaction fees.
You may want to check if there is enough volume for that coin you want to withdraw from Gate exchange, or you can pay much more in trading fees and wait longer than usual.
I would also suggest that you move everything from Gate to FTX and you will have free or much lower withdrawals for most coins, including Bitcoin.
It looks like withdrawal of NEO coin is free from Coingate, but both FTX or Coinbase are not supporting it.

Your "Next generation exchange"    Roll Eyes
wtf... waiting up to 48 hours for depositing coins and coins have to be sent from from ''regulated'' providers.
This is more like a circus show that worse than regular banks with fiat currencies, and I don't know if their $89M volume from Coingecko website if true, but I am sure it's going to decline rapidly soon.
4951  Other / Archival / Re: Forum no longer friendly with content from Medium on: April 26, 2022, 06:16:31 PM
Now you have to download this picture to your computer, then upload it to the image hosting and only then paste the resulting code into the forum. It became uncomfortable.
It takes only few seconds to right click, save and than upload any image and post link in forum.
I don't see how it can be so uncomfortable unless you are posting images with every single post you make, and that would be borderline crazy.

here you go Smiley
How do you navigate so many tabs in your browser? Smiley
4952  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Transfer 500 Sats (0.000005 BTC) via MainNet in 2022 on: April 26, 2022, 05:47:51 PM
still working on a solution and want to get it accomplished with the community together.
Can you tell us more information about receiver of that payment you sent?
One possible solution is that you send him internal transaction with 500sats using same centralized exchange, or he can just create new invoice for you.
If you are purchasing something from him, you can buy something else and pay with for new item with extra 500 sats.
Try to keep it as simple as possible.
4953  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Using Linux Mint for crypto wallet on: April 26, 2022, 05:40:23 PM
Linux is less buggy I want to know if I can run crypto wallet this OS, I want to know if this is safer than windows 10 or are they the same when it comes to security? Anyone using their crypto wallet on Linux? I choose Linux Mint
It is much easier to use Linux for many reasons, you don't have to install most drivers like you would have to do on windows, but Linux is not totally bug free operating system.
Most Linux compared to wiNd0ws os is much better for security and it's not so much target for malware attack, that is why it's better to be used for Bitcoin and crypto wallets.
Linux Mint is fine but it is based on Ubuntu, and I prefer original Debian instead, and there is also Linux Mint Debian edition released recently.
I tried many wallets in Linux and they work perfectly fine, if I remember correctly Trezor Suite app asked me to install one additional package, and many wallets have appimages that work on all Linux distros.

I also read that Linux is Open Source while Windows 10 can be considered a Closed Source what came to my mind at first was SECURITY.
Most Linux OS are Open Source, but there are some commercial versions you need to pay for, however major linux distros are much better for security.
You can even use something like Tails OS that is running on USB stick, and one forum member even created special Linux OS fork dedicated for cryprocurrencies.

4957  Local / Off-topic (Hrvatski) / Re: Kutak za kulturni trenutak on: April 25, 2022, 08:08:39 PM

Cheesy
Mislim da je sbogovac 100% hard core metalac.
Ako nije metalac onda sigurno sluša operu.

Dredd
Drugo gledanje, i dalje jedan od najboljih stripovskih ekranizacija uopce i textbook primjer kako napraviti kvalitetan akcijski film. Steta sto dugo najavljivana serija nikad nije realizirana, ili makar nastavak.
Nekako mi je bolji Silvester Stalone u toj ulozi kao Judge Dredd u kultnom filmu iz 1995, a danas mi sve više liči na njegov drugi film Demolition Man... možda ćemo i mi uskoro platiti porez na psovke kao on Cheesy

We have Kavelj22, examplens and Little Mouse left.
Please leave your reviews as Unijoin has another promotion to come after this.
Hey Royse777, that means that current campaign is now closed for new participants making reviews or it is still open for new people to apply?
I know some really good members who are not yet Hero members (campaign rule) but I am sure they would make very good honest review.
4959  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: BitBox02 Experiences on: April 22, 2022, 01:21:16 PM
I don't know if you're aware of that, but it's not a touch screen. The device just has touch-sensitive areas on all sides, under the plastic. So you don't need to touch the actual screen and scratch or smudge it.
I know about that, this touch sensitive areas are on top side and there is no connection with screen, but he has a new device and I heard that people are saying that screen scratches very easy from regular usage.
I always try to keep foils on all my devices as long as I can Smiley
4960  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Hardware wallet vs software wallet for daily transaction on: April 22, 2022, 01:14:44 PM
Not to mention that the image also seems a marketing ploy. I'm not sure where the image has come from exactly, and who's behind it. However, using the green coloured font, to try, and push it being better in almost every way, is a little suspect. Especially, considering the things they've already been caught for.
It's obviously bias review, and funny thing to me was assumption that safepal has some professional anti-attack level.
Sure they have bigger IPS screen but I have seen many reports from people who claims it breaks much easier than on ledger or trezor.
How about the fact that you can't use safepal with any third party wallet, so you are stuck only with their app.
