Reports of dank scamming people via graphics design jobs

This is news to me and I can't stand being uninformed. Got a link?

Guys, I think we should stop asking questions. It could be.... unhealthy. To our health.

Consider this:

Sonny is a decidedly Italian name.

Vleisides is a decidedly Grecian name.

It follows logically that his origins are in Calabria, Italy.

Combining this information and the fact that he was running a 1930s mobster style numbers racket it follows that this is a 'Ndrangheta operation.

Why do these people always use Comic Sans?

That was a nice ad.

Looking at that pic BFL are so going to get sued! Apple doesn't care what the device does. No one is allowed to think like them. Tongue
And what are you basing that off of? Apple vs Samsung, I'm assuming? A phone manufacturer that makes phones to look like another phone manufacturer. Comparing a phone to a phone is totally different than a cryptographic hashing unit to a TV media streamer. They're allowed to look similar.

Apple has sued a polish grocery store for having an apple in their logo. Apple has sued the City of New York for calling itself Big Apple.

They are going to sue for a look-a-like tech gadget.

Oh, they're reprogrammable? One would have thought they'd mention that on their sales spiel.

Definitely going to get one now. I love the Cherry MX switches. As you said, not quite an M, but near enough.

An empty mug, a Truly Ergonomic Keyboard, some fake watches and two Apple TV boxes with a photoshopped jalapeno logo.

Real watches, but good catch on the TE keyboard. :-)

How are they in use? I was thinking about getting one, but as a touch typist the placement of the shift keys really weirds me out.
4949  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nefario scammed me out of 8BTC on: September 23, 2012, 09:10:26 AM
This looks like Ppowerp pulling a Matthew, using a technicality to try and pull out of paying a fee that any reasonable person would expect to be non-refundable regardless of the audit results. Because that's essentially what nefario is doing. Auditing the asset before listing. Has anyone ever heard of an auditor going "Oh, you failed the audit, here's you money back."? No? Because this doesn't happen in real life.

BFL is going to get sued for having "A box with rounded corners," which Apple no doubt has a patent on  Tongue

That is indeed highly possible.

Said arms race secures the blockchain against attack, it is a good thing.

No, it doesn't. If the mythical ASICs should proove to be true, the 22 confirmed orders for BFL SC ASIC Minirigs will have more hashrate than all current miners put together.
4955  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a larger known networked computing project? on: September 23, 2012, 12:49:08 AM
I kinda feel sorry for all the spent GPU's out there forced to calculate a problem to which the solution is worthless. it would be cool if the network was used to calculate something like the next prime number...

well the calculation ITSELF is kinda useless, but then it's purpose is to secure the network and all transactions of a (currently) hundred million dollar and growing economy. that aspect is far from useless. indeed, it's the core of bitcoin in many ways.

and it could be done with 10 Pentiums if there wasn't an arms-race going on for purposes of "Dude, I need more of dem bitcoins than George next door."
4956  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Butterfly Labs CEO 25 Million USD Mail Fraud — A Concise Summary of Evidence on: September 23, 2012, 12:46:51 AM
I've only just came across this thread & as yet read up to the requests for photos of the Mini rig, so here's a few that I took of it with Josh, etc from the London conference:

That's an FPGA minirig. We know they exist, we have pictures of how they look like when they are not prettied up for conference purposes. What is this supposed to demonstrate?

Have you considered getting professional help for your gambling problem?

It doesn't need to be like this, friend.

What's totally awesome about Bitcointalk, though, is the fact that every time I think people have demonstrated that they have reached some sort of plateau of ridiculouslness; Just when it appears that the mother fucking Mount Olympus of Batshit Crazy has been conquered, the BitcoinTalk flag planted firmly in its peak, one of you fucking idiots manages to come along and shine a bright, white hot burning spotlight of incredulity on the fact that we are only in the foothills of Crazytown and the Peak of Insanity & Entitlement still looms far above.   It's truly breathtaking in a sick sort of way.

God damn, I love you idiots sometimes.  You give me hope that if I ever have a child and they are so retarded as to be a veritable vegetable, I can still point at the cute little veggie and say "Well, at least you're smarter than most of the people on Bitcointalk."  And it will give me comfort.

Anyone played it? This shit is so wicked. Blows D3 out the water. What you guys think?

Considering Torchlight is made by the original Diablo guys, that's no wonder.
