4941  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrency do you use for gambling frequently? on: March 21, 2020, 07:44:55 PM

Looks like OP is sometimes harming his precious fiat wallet that's why he became more concerned about what crypto should be used in gambling in times like this or when the market is on the bearish trend. Or should I say his gambling funds that mostly ETH are combined with his trading funds so he is really affected about the volatility.

Way different from me as since I enter the world of crypto-gambling. I maintain a good number of crypto on-hand that's why it never makes a point to harm my own precious fiat. It's also separate from what I used as trading funds.

Bull or bear, crypto is still 1:1 in quantity when it comes to gambling. I never involved its USD value when it comes to crypto gambling as long as it's not affecting my fiat holdings.

As for OP, you can make a test if you think what's good for you. We have our own stand on how to deal with this.
4942  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble right after coronavirus outbreaks? on: March 21, 2020, 07:23:24 PM
...but I just want to know your opinions and plan after this outbreak.

Hmm, is there really should be a plan related to gambling after the lockdown/quarantine has been lifted up? Are there really guys here that can't stand the few days or weeks being locked up on their home?

Basically, if it lifted up, it does mean that the numbers being affected are decreasing but it's not 100% virus-free. As for the plan, I don't have any of those. I will continue my usual preferred time when I want to gamble.

And I doubt the majority here are really playing on physical casinos. Even prior to this virus outbreak, most are biased towards crypto-gambling.
4943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: March 20, 2020, 09:20:39 PM

As others also mentioned, the fight is now postponed:

No Casimero vs Inoue in April

As I have also posted here before, we all know that other Top Rank's events also canceled so this bout was expected to be postponed. This shouldn't be a surprise.
4944  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Covit 19, THANK YOU!! on: March 20, 2020, 08:56:56 PM

I don't want to comment on each but I will pick some:

a) The EDSA traffic.
I challenged the traffic here almost every day prior to implementing the enhanced community quarantine. Not just in EDSA but on other busy roads as well e.g C5, Shaw Boulevard, Gil Puyat Ave, Kalayaan, Macapagal.

Do you really think COVID-19 is the best solution here? Obviously no one is allowed to go outside that's why you see a wide and no-traffic EDSA today, therefore it's not a solution. If things got controlled, we will all back in usual.  The solution we need to see is by applying it in the real situation.

b) Force to walk because of no public transport
You are happy seeing people walking 10,000 steps a day? That's good but not in the time like this. Didn't you know that this pandemic virus can easily penetrate our bodies if we always feel tired and stress? Just imagine what's the effect of the everyday long walk going to work + heavy loads of works + stress + long walk again going home.

c) Adoption of blockchain technology
Fiat payments aren't encouraged nowadays but we have lots of one-click payment systems. I don't think the current situation we are dealing with will increase the adoption of blockchain technology here in the country.

Sometimes, we need to understand first what we copy+paste here.
4945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: March 20, 2020, 08:33:00 PM
It's time for us to help each other in time of crisis, those who are earning well can help the people who suffers due to this lock down, some does not even have a job and they need some help for their food. Everyone of us can help in any way, and I am just happy to read that one of the PBA players which I Idolize has its own way to help.

Terrence Romeo donating one month's salary for hospital supply

And just to be clear, this Romeo's good initiative is now on the action for several days now. No public impressions, no social media posts or anything.

As per the article, also big thanks to Alaska coach Jeffrey Cariaso to raise two months' worth of wages for PBA game-day staff who have been hit hard by the suspension of games. They raised an initial P100,000 for the fund drive, which has since gained support from players CJ Perez (25,000), Chris Ross (P20,000) and Cliff Hodge (P20,000).

Other players are also reportedly doing their own way to help. They just want to keep it silent in the news as much as possible. Kudos to all!
4946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here succeeded a friend to play online gambling now that casino are close on: March 20, 2020, 08:07:02 PM
Majority of casinos are now closed but anyone here succeeded in inviting a  friend to play online gambling now that casinos are close
indefinitely, I'm sure a lot of gambling casinos are open to playing in online casinos at this current situation.

Even prior to this pandemic virus, it's not in my vocabulary to recruit a "friend" or "close-ones" to play gambling whether online or outside of it even for a referral or affiliate purposes. I like them to approach me instead. And besides, casual gamblers or those who just gambled at least a few times a week, that lives in a virus-prone area will not totally consider playing gambling these days due to the fact that they need money to support daily lives as we all know what situation we are currently in.

In most areas infected or currently under lockdown, no work = no pay = no source of income. Doing gambling from these areas will definitely not consider gambling as one of their time-killing activities.
4947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: March 20, 2020, 07:44:14 PM
I read the article you shared, but why is the Lakers organization does not name the 2 Lakers players who are positive with COVID-19?

If I have to understand fully the tweet related to that, I think Los Angeles Lakers will give an official statement after testing all of their players, a complete report output of their testing.

Anyhow, all players are isolated and quarantined so not mentioning the names of those 2, for now, will not contribute to the spread (after test).

So the additional cases are:
1 from Celtics (player)
1 from Nuggets (not mentioned if staff or player)
3 from Sixers (staffs)

All persons involved are currently asymptomatic.
4948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some casino gambling tips. on: March 20, 2020, 07:22:31 PM

That limit the budget advice is easy and simple to say but difficult to overcome reality. For the casual gamblers, it's easy to be like that but you can't just simply advise a hardcore or even regular gamblers to control their budget. And in physical casinos, it's easy to buy some chips since even debit or credit cards are accepted. No need to bring their fiat.

For me, gamblers should experience the worst losing experience of their gambling life for them to learn and take advice. That's always the case in gambling that no one can avoid.

All advice is useless for a type of gambler that never experiences how to lose. They will just learn how to limit their budget once they are now aware of what's the situation of being a struggle.
4949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Play gambling that require skills and techniques. on: March 20, 2020, 06:56:31 PM
There are a lot of gambling sites that rely on the skills and techniques for you to win the game, but actually that is what you should prefer to play compared to those gambling sites that only rely to the luck of the gamblers. Aside of playing you are also thinking or analyzing which is really important to maintain and boost the way we think.

Here is the link where you can learn some games that may require skills and techniques to win, and they also listed some ways for you to win:
https://www.gamblingsites.com/blog/100-ways-to-win-at-gambling-16240/

Information on that site is honestly good but you should have read fully the article first before sharing it here for much better introduction. Almost all gambling games listed there are dealing against the house.

We can put it this way:

"How to deal against the house on some gambling games"

Literally, we can't as no one can control the output. But suggestions on that site might help others especially the part of "managing the bankroll". That's what I always say how to deal with house-edge games and not basically a strategy to beat the house since it's impossible. By properly managing the bankroll, somehow a gambler can play in the long-run.

Card games I think will also require luck. Good cards would give you the win and if you are not that lucky enough, you would lose the game, as simple as that. This only shows how huge luck is, as a factor in gambling.

Bad cards don't mean you will lose on that round. It's just that it gives a gambler an additional task which is to analyze deeper to find a better card formation from head to toe.

There are lots of times I survived a certain round with bad cards especially in a game called Chinese Poker.

4951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CS:GO and Betting on: March 20, 2020, 06:01:44 PM

Well, since CS: GO is an FPS Game, having a tournament online is not the best option. Considering the internet speed and the specs of the laptops, LAN is really better than online. Pro players play differently on LAN. I want to explain why. Sometimes, --playing in LAN as a pro player will let you move quicker. And since you are used to quick moves, ONLINE Gaming would give you a headache. Indeed, you might be tilted since your pc moves slow.

It's a hassle if, at the start of the tournament, everything will be done in a single arena. There are big tournaments that qualifying rounds should be done online. Just imagine the number of games players need to play especially for a double-round robin. I'm talking about all tournaments in general and not just those big and major events.

And it's 2020 now. Online connectivity, again, shouldn't be a big issue unlike before that all players must only choose their respective servers based on ISP, etc. Garena, Ranked Gaming, etc.

Well, I also consider betting on live games, why? Because there is more people watching it, meaning to say that more gamblers are also present. Unlike for casual games online, people are mostly just watching.

Well generally, provided odds will surely still be the same whether few or many watch those live games at most of the cases.
4952  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is like day trading ? on: March 20, 2020, 05:40:07 PM
For me both are different because in trading you analyse both technical and fundaments and then accordingly can place the trades on but in gambling you do not have such options as many would be your luck-based games. Also trading requires skills which not everyone can have it just like skills required in card games. Gambling would not be approved in all countries, but trading is legal in all countries then be it stocks, commodities etch.

Honestly, no.

Others might see gambling as luck-based but overall there's a catch on how to overcome that. Same with day-trading or basically, any types of trades, the strategy must always be considered and not just you will bet then that's it. Not relying purely on luck but to increase our winning chance rate in every bet.

As for legality, yes it's no doubt that gambling is more prohibited and has strict terms compare to trading but that should be the main point of comparing gambling and day trading for an obvious reason that both have different natures.
4953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Physically vs Gambling Online Using Crypto on: March 20, 2020, 05:14:56 PM

I don't get the point of why should we compare and differentiate each of any advantages that we can get from doing crypto-online gambling "against" physical form of gambling. If you are a type of person that lurks mostly in crypto, it will be biased and you will give most of your points in crypto-gambling. Others even don't have any experience playing at physical casinos or just on a literal street gambling but saying online gambling is the best.

If you guys will take this question on those people who are an enthusiast of playing outside crypto or let's take it in general through online gambling, the other way around will happen. They will be biased too since that's their interest. They have lots of advantages too of playing outside crypto.

People have different preferences. If we don't understand the other party's preferences, we should not say which of them is "BETTER".

P.S Like other says, please don't include the COVID-19 in the topic since the topic is general.
4954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas closes casinos and hotels in lieu of coronavirus on: March 17, 2020, 11:41:19 PM
Thye should have announced it long before, there are a lot of people here coming from different countries and infection could be high before this announcement..

Las Vegas Resorts is not just about the gambling industry. There are hotels, restaurants, etc. and official closure can't just be announced and done overnight. There's a protocol and surely there is a recommendation from the health department. That's where they relied on.

What matters here is, they temporarily suspended operations for the sake of all people especially their employees.

The boomer doomer virus is blown way out of proportion..

I think something else is going on behind the scenes and this virus is a distraction of some type.
Possibly yes, I read a conspiracy article about this outbreak is to create financial crisis on the stock market which was created by some private big hands. But I don't trust it too much still we are getting more attention about corona which is less harm compared to other deadly diseases we faced in the past two decades.

Refrain from reading some conspiracies.

It will really create lots of questions that will blow people's minds.
4955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CS:GO and Betting on: March 17, 2020, 09:14:21 PM

Seriously? The lags or connectivity issues are still a big issue today that others currently see on these types of the tournament? That problem is already an old issue and I don't think online tournaments today will have connectivity-related problems or should I say only less. And besides, organizers already know this issue. Big or small competitions, internet issue is not a big deal anymore. Just look at the online feature of the classic Counter-Strike Source as a good example way back several years ago. No issues at all related to ping whatever the internet service provider is in different countries.

The difference between playing LAN and online for me is the experience handling the pressure and comfortability. I once a Counter-Strike and Special Force PH player and have experienced playing at big and small tournaments. Qualifying rounds to quarterfinals are done online. Semis to Finals will be on the stage in front of the audience. It's obvious that it's more comfortable when you are playing with your team on your own cafe'. No pressure at all. But when it comes to Semis, damn, suddenly nature changed. It was more pressured especially for the "first time". This affects the overall game performance of any player that will suffer a pressure no matter how good they are in the qualifying rounds. That's when having an experience is really a must. As they continue, these players can now handle the pressure and later on, it won't be a problem anymore.

As per OP's concerns, teams like NaVi, Cloud9 and Tier2 teams play bad Online as compared to their actual LAN performance. I don't know how these teams performed overall but honestly, I can't think of an exact reason why they behave like that. For an experienced team, it should be no problem playing either online or LAN as they are used to it. Or maybe these teams just faced a much better team although they gave it all during their respective match.
4956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: March 17, 2020, 08:11:34 PM
Even if they find a cure right now, it will still take time to mass-produce and distribute it. It will really take time before the world will be back to normal.
But at least this will add confidence to people to go out because they are certain they'll not get infected again.

Even for let's say there's a cure that made right now, it won't give confidence to people to go out. The vaccine might kill the virus but it will not give an assurance that it also has a sort of immunity boost against it. It needs lots of time for a cure + immunity to be made. Therefore, being re-infected is always possible even they find a cure right now. Like I said in another thread, the term "Pandemic" is the highest level of spread meaning being infected has a high chance to happen even just for a few seconds of being close to the infected ones.

NBA is done this season. The number of virus-related concerns is still growing. Even all NBA players, staff or should I say, the whole USA will be a virus-free country this month or two, I think no one will have the guts to play alongside those reportedly infected players. The worries are always there. Not a disrespect but they just want to be safe.
4957  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is like day trading ? on: March 16, 2020, 11:53:52 PM
We know that day trading or short time trading is like playing with wild fire, not may can handle it. That's y most player's end up in loss and very few are successful day traders.

It depends on what gambling type you are pointing but in general, it's not appropriate to compare gambling and day trading due to the fact that they have different factors looked at in order to win.

In day trades, you have the control on where to in and out so making a strategy is a must. You are playing with the price volatility here so you are against the whole traders - means the whole market. Unlike in gambling, you are dealing with the house that even you apply strategy it's useless. For sports betting, you will place your bet prior start of the game. You won't be to control the phase but you have the ability to make an analysis that can increase your winning chance rate.

Are there gamblers here who are in profit overall?

Yes, there is. You might not see it as it's not necessary after all to post winning stats here.

Bottom line, either day trades or gambling, it's risky to deal with these without any knowledge.
4958  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: March 15, 2020, 10:23:35 PM
..the fight is still over a month from now, we hope that the pandemic will be over soon so we can witness this fight.

Take note that the term "Pandemic" is the highest level of spread. It's impossible to control or got it eliminated in a duration of a month even in the area where only a few reported cases were confirmed. So rather than expecting to witness this fight on the scheduled date, just accept that this fight might cancel.

Based on what I read, this fight is selling good to the fans, with this pandemic, its sales are pretty much affected and I don't think at this time they are buying for this, of course no, they are buying for the basic needs.

Well, as most of the cases you can't see an average minimum wage earner watching the boxing live as the ticket is costly but the reason why the sales should be affected is that people are worried about the risks of getting infected in a crowded area. Most people that have been an enthusiast of watching live boxing do have money to pay for tickets but for safety, they will refrain joining a crowded area for a meantime.
4959  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will it be a good idea to gift bitcoin? on: March 14, 2020, 08:47:20 PM

For promoting purposes, there are other ways and much simpler.

As always, whenever I attend a wedding, I always give cash or something that the couple really needs because they are just starting their family life. As I said, there are other ways to introduce bitcoin to your friend like having a normal and usual conversation.

But since you want to make your gift "unique", then push for it. After all, they will seek your assistance with the stuff you gave to them and will ask you what's that all about. That's now the start of introducing them into bitcoin world although I doubt they will feel the benefits and advantage of using it since it's illegal in your country.
4960  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: March 14, 2020, 07:57:39 PM
They can't change the current set up, this is not possible without the fans watching them..

Actually it's possible and Top Rank considered that on those recently postponed events to make sure spectators will not be placed on risk. However, after close consultation with the NY Athletic Commission, those fights should not proceed.

It's really hard to postpone a boxing event as boxers prepared on this for long. They worked really hard just to reached and maintain qualified weight. But no choice but to stay safe rather than to risks everyone. The virus in the first place will not be called a pandemic for no reason.

As for Inoue vs Casimero bout, I believed it will also be postponed. With just about a month to go before the bout, it's quite impossible to think that everything will be under control over that duration. Let's wait then for the updates.
