4941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin may be the solution to Africa's broken financial system. on: May 29, 2020, 08:09:37 AM
I think Africa is beyond help. I am an Egyptian and I live in Egypt and I can tell that few countries here can use a help. Most of Africa's countries want something more sophisticated than just help. We Africans must help ourselves first. It is a very rich continent but all of its treasures are wasted away. Leonardo DiCaprio's Blood Diamond was a good example. So early for blockchain here.

Except for South Africa

Why very negative though, yes that continent has been taken advantage by a lot of Western countries ever since but I think it still have the chance to recover. If government will really turn and will make a big effort to transform their country. It might take time though, but at least if will be a good start.

Do you agree that bitcoin would be a good idea for Africa?for me, adoption of bitcoin from Africa is a good idea, Africa has a big problem in terms of financial, they should do something to overcome those problems, one of the suggested ways is the use of bitcoin which is a really good idea, there are already many countries which are accepting the use of cryptocurrency in some of their transactions, it is way good better for fast and secured transactions compared to fiat currency.

It will really be a big push for the continent if bitcoin will prosper and grow. Not just bitcoin but blockchain technology itself. Maybe there could be some entity from the outside like Jack or exchange such as Luno who will lead the way.
4942  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] - Fake Ledger Airdrop on: May 26, 2020, 01:14:11 AM
According to these two address, it seems nobody gets trapped yet, But they are providing current transactions display that are totally fake. And there is a similarity with the  Fake Tesla Model S giveaway from "Elon Musk"

As I saw the fake tesla model s giveaways has failed, they are launching this one to make people fool again, though I am not sure those are running by one, there is a more chance to be the same owner.  Smiley

Probably the same bad actors behind for sure. We all know that if one website is taken offline, they will create a similar clone to attack and scam people away.

I think check the domain's ip address and look at

https://www.virustotal.com/gui/ip-address/104.27.161.180/relations

And you will find that those addresses are being used maliciously.

4943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The return of ICOs on: May 25, 2020, 11:13:27 PM
Guys, do you think that ICOs could make a come back? I do and here is why. Every year dozens of companies raise money in Silicon Valley for startups, many pre revenue. Also, with the economy injured from nCov19, it would make sense to allow for new economies. This would include letting new startups in Blockchain raise money, and imo if they are well vetted, and trusted by the community, they should be allowed to raise money. What do you think?

Its' not the question of ICO returning in the crypto sphere, they didn't left in the first place. The problem is that there are many ICO popping like mushroom with no use case. It just clogged cryptospace, scam investors out of their hard earn money.

And you can't compare them to Silicon Valley startups, those project that became successful is very unique and have something to offer, as compare to ICO today. Of course, there could be one successful project out of 100 and it's really hard to find them.
4944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 25, 2020, 03:48:35 PM
^^ What is shocking is that Nick admitted it, but I'm not surprise at all. Sports personalities have many fans and they are willing to be part of a 'groupie'. It is well documented, like in basketball, we all know how it went for Magic Johnson during his ran as a Lakers even getting HIV in the process. Even Kobe Bryant (RIP) has his fair share of this 'culture' early on his career.

Perhaps just such a lifestyle, ''sex and rock''  Cheesy, is the main reason why Nick has stalled in his tennis development?
It's obvious that he doesn't have the dedication to tennis that the top champions show, Federer, Nadal or Djokovic.
It's nice to have fun with young girls and sleep with them, but it's a great pity that you don't have the "focus" and commitment to tennis, because of it.
Too bad, probably the great career that was ahead of him, will never materialize.

And maybe that is one reason why Nick can't fulfill his potential to be one of those who are going to challenge the big 3 because of his attitude though? That lifestyle doesn't will not get him anywhere, maybe just playing to have this kind of "sex and rock" lifestyle. And people are going to judge him when he retire including this self-admission of sleeping with female fans, not a good model specially that he loves to get attention.
4945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Limited participants is the best option for bounty campaigns this days on: May 25, 2020, 02:58:13 PM
It seems many new bounty hunters are joining this forum weekly or monthly, every single bounty campaign is full of thousands of participants, my claim is some bounty managers don't care how many you really are, even if it's just 5$ for each bounty participants, this is plain bad, I remember telling bubbalex to reduce Cartesi signature participants and I'm glad he listened, if not the reward would be very bad....

The main reason why they have opened a "bounty campaign" and not a bitcoin paying campaign is that they wanted to get maximum exposure so that most of the project doesn't care how much participants they have. That's why they have this so called allotment for the bounty. It is already taken in consideration prior to launching their project.

So there will be no effects whatsoever between 10 or 100 to them. The intention is to hire many participants that are going to get paid promoting their project in as many threads in this community. So the numbers doesn't matter for them.
4946  Economy / Speculation / Re: Double bottom @ 3.1k or lower low @ 2k? on: May 25, 2020, 10:19:16 AM
Probably that's where their crystal ball is saying.  Smiley

But to be serious, $3.1? Why not $5k? We haven't seen that price expect for the pandemic scare, so I doubt that we can go that low again. Bulls won't allow that price to that dip, remember that they keep pushing for the five digits, but it is really a big barrier ahead of us. So if by chance the price goes on a downward spiral, I'm sure many investors will not wait for the price to hit $3k. They are going to be ready and jump on the gun to buy around $5k range, in my opinion.
4947  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam]: Fake OmiseGO Airdrop on: May 24, 2020, 01:18:48 PM
I got this message on one of my throw away accounts, just ignored it though.

But you have to give it to those criminals though, the timing of the message is right on the dot.  Smiley
OmiseGo has been pump as of late, specially when it was listed to Coinbase. So probably those crooks take advantage of the situation in hope that they can victimised, specially newbies who doesn't have the right knowledge about this kind of phishing or scam attempts.
4948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: May 24, 2020, 12:18:13 PM
Fury did an interview with Sky Sports on on the 22nd and in it he was asked about future fights, and in it he alluded that if he loses he'll be fighting Wilder again before anyone else and could keep going on and on, so it looks like he will have the rematch clause: https://youtu.be/MgGgUFRy5N4?t=212

If he does lose and they have a rematch they should just sign a deal that it's the last fight with no rematches as it could get ridiculous. I don't think they should go past a trilogy but I guess if Fury does lose then he will want the rematch.

So it's compelling for Fury to really finished this match in fashion so that we won't see a 4th and 5th fight. He needs to perform even better in this trilogy so that there will be no doubts as to who really is the greatest in this generation. And this is what fans wanted to see and still going to watch even if the price is ridiculous because of the pandemic.
4949  Economy / Economics / Re: What online service / product would you buy in this recession ? on: May 24, 2020, 11:31:59 AM
Personally, my crappy laptop is bugging me as of late so perhaps this is the thing that I need to look for in the next couple of days and purchase a brand new and retire this for good.

But obviously, our first priority though is food, so I'm also taking that time to buy, specially during pizza buy, I bought some and celebrate it with my families without them knowing that it's bitcoins pizza day. So I would say that anything that can get you and your families in this lock down specially essential good are a good buy, in my opinion.
4950  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: People should manage the allocation of assets even when trading Bitcoin on: May 24, 2020, 11:06:57 AM
Of course, this is one basic principle you have to understand not just in bitcoin investing, even in traditional market you should learn how to manage your portfolio. It really depends on how investors stratregised, maybe some are using the same plan as you pointed out, or maybe they everyone is using a different kind of attack. As for the dream of being a millionaire, you can't really do it overnight, takes a lot of time and money and practice and experience. That's why crypto trading is a very different league of its own. There's no one size fits all strategy. Everyone should work their butt off in order to chase their dreams of being successful in the future.
4951  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China electric issue causes Bitcoin to pull back on: May 24, 2020, 10:33:13 AM
It's already monsoon season in Asia as far as I know, so I guess this kind of issues will be resolved specially entering around June-October wherein a lot of rains and typhoon usually drops in that part of China. So I'm not sure if the electricity issues has been the cause of hashrate dropping or just miners simply pulling the plug because its no longer profitable because of the difficulty. I guess this is just a short term effect though, we might see it normalize starting June as far as electricity is concern.
4952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi isn't that rich. on: May 23, 2020, 11:29:41 PM
It's known that he may have a million BTC in his possession. The bitcoin network clearly showed that if satoshi makes transactions the price drops. Even if he is not satoshi, big transactions from old generated blocks is creating a trouble in the market.

It's all pure speculation if Satoshi is really the person behind the movement of that old generated blocks. And it didn't have a significant effect on the market we are still above $9k despite people trying to spin it out and pull the price of BTC.

If satoshi sells 500BTC price may drop 2-3k dollars. So he is not that rich, isn't he?  Tongue

If he wanted to maximised the profit then why he didn't sell in 2017? So let's wait for another all time high and see if he/she/they are going to sell to enrich themselves.  Smiley
4953  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Kremlin vs bitcoiners. on: May 23, 2020, 01:10:49 PM
Is there something new here? This is forth coming as we have seen Russian's stance keeps changing since 2017 so I'm not surprise by this.

@sheenshane - I do hope that you have been following's the government stance since 2017 because all they did was totally contradicting themselves. If you haven't follow them, then I suggest you do a research and you will find out everything. And remember the so called mining farms in Russia? We really don't know what happen then, it was reported, if I'm not mistaken in 2018 and then boom? Never heard of it again. Putin will never allow something that they can't control specially giving too much freedom, like bitcoin.
4954  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: NewBie To Bitcion on: May 23, 2020, 12:06:07 PM
I have had an interesting 2 weeks as I have been reading on Bitcoin. In the past 3 years I have heard of Bitcoin here and there but never had interest as know had shared with in detail until about 2 weeks ago when someone said can I pay in Bitcoin.

I am looking forward to learning more on this forum and also sharing sharing on this forum

Cheers for now

Well thats a good start, its better to really look around and read everything about bitcoin from this community as this is the best source of information. It might overload you with some technicalities, so if you have any questions you can ask. There's also a search function, so if you are looking for anything, you can used that as well. Good luck and enjoy your stay and welcome.
4955  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let's see If BTC re-test 9500$ zone on: May 23, 2020, 10:51:17 AM
Bitcoin is above $9200 as of now, the two or three days of dip have been somewhat recovered.

So we need a few more days to validate and see if we can re-test $9500 zone again. Remember that prior to the dip, we are trading around $9500-$9700 and trying to reach $10k. So I don't think that we will go sideways before the end of the week and could be retesting $9500 anytime soon.
4956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinmarketcap or Coingecko? on: May 23, 2020, 10:16:55 AM
Lately, there are accusations that Binance and Coinmarketcap have been trying to manipulate the data to let Binance be on top of the exchanges.

The accusations came from Huobi: https://twitter.com/CiaraHuobi/status/1261269765395345409

I guess this could be the beginning of seeing coinmarketcap distorting some data to fit their narratives. Time to go and look for alternatives like coingecko, just saying.
4957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New documentary: Bitcoin Revolution in Africa on: May 23, 2020, 08:57:25 AM
Did try to research how close Africa in terms of p2p trading:

https://twitter.com/MattAhlborg

So probably there is a lot of hype around Africa as of late, but then again there are a lot of issues that the government is facing but I do hope that bitcoin will have its place in Africa and help the population, specially those unbanked.

@slaman29 - yeah, probably in the next couple of days this will be in torrent sites so we will just have to wait.
4958  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: May 23, 2020, 08:06:10 AM
Even prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, there's a lot of illegal streams already, you just have to go to Facebook and see that someone is streaming it. This is not an ordinary fight, boxing fans are willing to shell out huge money just to watch this trilogy. Bob Arum knows this, so probably they will go on that route and jack the price just to be able to cover the cost, in my opinion.

For bigger fights, it's hard to find an illegal streams online, I've tried that in the first 2 fights of Fury vs Wilder but could not find one.
I think we just have to support them, they will not be getting money from the crowd so their main source of income is mostly coming from the PPV sales.

When I was hunting for illegal streams online before, I have to get up early or I have it ready few days prior to the fight go to that website and watch early, those kind of boring pre fights. As we get closer to the main events, the connection became laggy that's why I stop.

And then there's Facebook, I can't remember which fight I watch using that platform, I think it was Donaire vs Inoue, the same experience, a bit lag, you will be cut-off on the middle of the action. But you can search again and continue watching.

But I do agree if you are really a hardcore fans of either Wilder or Fury, definitely getting PPV in the range of $80-$100 is worth it.
4959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you pick slots? on: May 22, 2020, 10:49:55 PM
It doesn't matter I guess, there are traditional players who wanted to see vintage slots, and then the new breed of players, wanting to see great graphics more rows x columns games.

Personally, I'll just look at how attractive the game is, minimum bet and then the jackpots. We all know that slots is luck-based games so regardless what company is behind it, gamblers will always try their luck on those slots and see how it goes.
4960  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Market Update: The Halving is Here on: May 22, 2020, 01:44:53 PM
I see for my view that price is getting some consolidation for a major bull. The price after halving has been okay around and above the $10,000 area. The next major move might come after the end of the month because some lockdown could be eased up .

What's the correlation between lockdown easing up and the price pushing to 5 digits?

As we can see, it has rejected multiple times already, and we have noticed some minor pullback to $9k-$9100. So regardless if there is an easing up at the end of the month, it won't affect the price at all. Everything is still based on people's sentiments. And right now, it's sell-off because of the 50 BTC that has moved and others speculating that it is Satoshi himself (but majority doubt it), causing some fear amongst crypto investors, resulting on a pullback in the last 48 hours.
