4941  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin at new heights on: June 28, 2021, 05:36:32 PM
- chart-

Interesting chart but new addresses growth slowing down still doesn't mean much at the end of the day, it is probably just linked to less transactions happening on chain. I mean, I'm still using the same old 3-5 address for years now (I know, very bad of me but I can't help it) to get everything I get, and maybe every now and then a new address due to change address for a spend.

Adoption wise I guess it's a slowdown.
4942  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC down , does the altcoin will keep strong on: June 28, 2021, 04:03:48 PM
We saw those times that some altcoins didn't really care whenever bitcoin goes up or go down. They have their own market share but sometimes the market sentiment, they're not going with it.
Unpredictable markets for both bitcoin and altcoins and this what really happens. But no matter what the share that the two have, it always ending up with your portfolio having bitcoin which is always the best type of portfolio to include with.

Only for short/temporary bursts, especially in extreme bull or extreme bear conditions. Monero always tried to have its own way, for example, and this is a sign of it being its own niche utility (for private transactions) and ETH the same for smart contract and dapp utility (although this is all defi credit now we have to admit).

But Bitcoin is still crypto and still what most of the world recognizes. If BTC does well, it's only good news for alts. And the converse is true as well.
4943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are all altcoins dependent on Bitcoin? on: June 28, 2021, 02:47:57 PM
well, maybe a stable coin is a coin that really has no effect on the up and down movement of the bitcoin price. however, I think if there is a coin that is always growing when the bitcoin price drops, I think it is a very good coin. even in the midst of a bear market, the price can survive. well, such coins are very rare. however, I also conclude that 95% of altcoins are heavily affected by bitcoin price movements.

Ask about Tether though and you'll see all kinds of theories about how USDT markets DO affect the price of Bitcoin. When demand surges, Tether simply prints more money (USDT) because people need it to buy or to short Bitcoin.

And if/when Tether does become stuck in legal complexities (though I think they've survived it so far quite well) then the worry for investors will transfer to selling on BTC.
4944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Dogecoin overpriced? on: June 28, 2021, 02:03:00 PM
if you look at the function of dogecoin, then I believe the price of dogecoin is overpriced, because dogecoin has no function, so according to the current price of dogecoin it is not worth it, but with a very large community of dogecoin, then in my opinion it is a natural thing if the price of dogecoin can increased very high like now, that's why I also invested in dogecoin, but of course I didn't invest in dogecoin for the long term, because the risk is very big.

Depends on who you ask and who the doge holder is. I received my very first DOGE as a tip, and most if not all the DOGE I have given away is also as a tip, which is really the spirit of Dogecoin, giving and passing it on.

It may be a memecoin but it was the first exposure of crypto for a lot of people and this year, also the first for many first time crypto owners. If it teaches you to use wallets and addresses and spend, I see great utility.
4945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to libra coins on: June 28, 2021, 12:32:13 PM
Libra has the different purpose with bitcoin and it was working on the different field and it will not disrupt bitcoin but it will be potentially disrupting the domination that already created by the stable coin like tether.

Libra is not yet gone but it's getting rebranded into the new name called diem

All stablecoins and especially all corporate based coins in control of the blockchain and issuance will always have a different purpose than Bitcoin. Simply being similar as a digital p2p form of money isn't equal when you consider that every other aspect is not in the hands of the masses (control, especially).

Libracoin, diem, whatever it's called. It's just paypal with blockchain.
4946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io "Soccer Blackjack" @ 21.00 odds on: June 28, 2021, 07:55:45 AM
Goal : 1
Cards : 5
Corners : 3

Total points : 9 and another push. For a second there I thought that we might get to see another extra time game. Its not a surprising result at all especially after you watch how Netherlands lost to Czech lol

I actually woke up a few times to check my phone during the first half, and was so surprised to see 0 points from corners or cards or goals every time. That really helped me to go back to sleep so no surprise that they decided to score as soon as I actually got to bed:)

EURO is very low points, but to be expected. So now we are 10 goals at halfway mark to EURO special Blackjack. Not bad, right guys?
4947  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market Prediction for 2024 on: June 28, 2021, 07:01:59 AM
It is based on past performance. You see coins with unlimited supply can not keep rising, specially since they have lots of other flaws including security flaws, not just centralization. Specially when they switch to PoS and basically give away free ETH just because you own ETH the sell pressure is going to increase.
Additionally "smart contracts" in the way used by Ethereum ever since 2015 have not had any real world applications, to this day anyone who buys ETH either wants to invest it in an ICO scam or are simply gambling on the price. This model can not be sustained and in long run the price will keep going down as it has been.
It is also highly likely that a better smart contract platform (either another altcoin or a bitcoin side-chain) that simply solves the flaws of ethereum replaces it in near future. That makes ETH obsolete.

Centralization is a big flaw but yes, for the most part, people don't care and don't know they should care (not to mention the decentralized companies in defi all claiming but hiding how centralized they are like Polkadot).

And it's the same selling pressure with all these APYs that cannot be sustained.

I do disagree that smart contracts have no real world applications though. I think the way limit orders are being programmed without trusting exchanges at least are now very popular, plus betting markets that automatically settle bets. Not a lot of use but when people see these working well I don't see why people wouldn't switch to smart contracts.

2 my favorite team isn't qualified, the Netherland playing badly, they can't continue to the next round same as Portugal did. Belgium is still playing compact but they sacrificed their 2 pillar players (De bruyne and Hazard) I hope their injuries are not serious for the next to continue match versus Italy.

One of my favorite teams (Portugal) got kicked out yesterday. I guess now I will have to support Italy. Among the remaining teams I don't like anyone except Italy, Croatia and Czechia (and Croatia are unlikely to qualify for the QF, as their PQF match is against Spain which is scheduled for today). Italy will be facing the no.1 ranked team in the world, so fingers crossed at the moment. And at the same time Czech Republic have relatively easier opponents in Denmark (not discounting the fact that they thrashed Wales 4-0).

Never really a fan of Portugal but looking at highlights you have to say they probably deserved to get at least a goal if not even win based on the number of chances, Belgium had one wonder shot but that's the quality that wins the games for people at this level I guess! They were lucky Lukaku seemed off form but then again, losing 1-0 is as bad as losing 3-0 when it's KO.

My bet is still alive on Spain but it's a tough match ahead of them here!
4949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CONMEBOL] Copa America 2021 Discussion Thread on: June 28, 2021, 05:13:12 AM
I was torn about last night and turns out I was right in the end! Brazil odds not weren't worth betting on but I ccouldn't see Ecuador pulling off anything more than a fulltime draw. And then we have Peru who keeps surprising us.

Venezuela goodbye! Their fans will be might mad lol.

Was quite crazy to see that almost the same number of points were scored in extra time than in full time on yesterday's BJ. That is like 3x more points. I guess tired players and frustrations really do lead to more points, hope for more today?. Let's see if we get it this time today with our latest Blackjack... too bad I will be asleep:)

4951  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market Prediction for 2024 on: June 27, 2021, 01:37:39 PM
For bitcoin probably it has potential to push the price towards 100k only in 2024 in my personal opinion , especially if those whales keep manipulate the price everytime when it reached the all time high, because for that reason it will become too difficult for bitcoin to exceed more..  And actually for me 240k has a potential  as well , but the fact that weak hands always going crazy when there's an issue reason there's always a massive decline in the market.. Its becomes very unpredictable if bitcoin can survive to break new ATH in 2024.

That's three years from now ++ and yeah, I think by then 100k should be very easy, assuming there's another rally and assuming also things happen in the regular 2/4 year cycle it always has. I still doubt this year is over. Normally I'm pessimistic about chances of crypto going up but I feel like there wasn't enough drama over the last 6/7 months yet and we usually need that before we head into pure winter.
4952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks to allow customers the option of hodling, selling and buying bitcoin on: June 27, 2021, 12:29:47 PM
I do not understand, how is bank bitcoin adoption makes it possible to realize bitcoin to be a payment method? Even before banks in some specific countries were accepting bitcoin as a form if payment, bitcoin has been used for payment, you can use your noncustodial wallet to pay someone in Bitcoin, it is not necessarily mean without bank, bitcoin can not be used for payment. I am not saying banks accepting bitcoin as a form of payment will not help in Bitcoin adoption, but bitcoin can be used independently not depending on any centralized system.

Simply because if Bank accounts have it, people can also store Bitcoin in bank accounts/wallets and perhaps benefit from the same deposit protection that they do with fiat (all banks in countries protect deposit with national insurance). Not that this is totally good since it defeats the purpose of Bitcoin which is to be in full control of your money but for most people, this is what they're looking for when buying crypto.

Now I wish I were betting on outrights (as in qualification regardless of ET or penalty shootout). Have a feeling now we'll get more matches like Italy where everyone's too careful and we get draws then the class finishes off the weaker team in Extra Time or penalties. Favs should still go through I guess.

Portugal-Belgium is SO tough, you have stars in both. BTTS maybe?

What an incredible weekend I'm still feeling bad not to check Friday Specials page too much as there were loads of promos going on but as long as we hit the Blackjack special, I'm happy.

4956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CONMEBOL] Copa America 2021 Discussion Thread on: June 26, 2021, 04:15:49 PM
Uruguay is one of the favorite teams in Copa America. They have a strong squad. But they are failing. They have won only one of the three matches. In the next match they will face Paraguay. Paraguay is a stable team. I doubt if Uruguay can win against them.
i believe Uruguay can win as well, i don't think Paraguay can make another surprise against Uruguay right after beating Chile 2-0, and of course Uruguay has the players that can do anything at anytime, it would be an entertaining match to watch, and maybe bet live.

I think they are among the favorites but not since many years they have been HEAVY ones like Argentina and Brazil.

I feel like these big teams rely too much on the stars playing in the Europe Big 6 so this is one of the problems. People forget Cavani and Suarez are already on the final years of their golden generation.

Don't rule Paraguay out though.
4957  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 26, 2021, 02:33:43 PM
But I wonder why the England - Germany match will be held at Wembley Stadium, while for the other matches at least they don't play at home or in their own country. I realized that even though England were playing at home it would still not win, and I think this would be unfair because in other matches they played at neutral venues. Is there an explanation regarding this or this is still not a final decision which may still be subject to change.

Pure politics. EUFA was wondering for a long time where to go because most of Europe still has travel restrictions during EURO and England was one of the locations that didn't have pandemic barring entries. Apparently, anyway.

Even Netherlands played home games in Amsterdam during group stages which I thought was very unfair, but I guess well, pandemic is pandemic? And as I said, England home advantage isn't necessarily an advantage:)

Oh wow guys I missed all the specials yesterday but I took the first one I saw today: Denmark to win and BTTS 5.50 I mean, Wales can get a goal we all know that and they might even win but if Denmark score like they do, it's 2 or 3 goals for sure. Good value right?

But the 4x penalty is also poor odds, I doubt any of it goes to penalty looking at lineup!

@tomahawk it was 12.50, I also missed it grr

Exactly 21 goals scored in 8 matches of EURO Last 16.

There was an error though it Said Denmark Wales, but when I bet, it said this above:)

Can this finally bring us joy when Copa and EURO could not? I for one certainly am hoping so. Bring on the samba and the blues, and the fiesta and all that. sorry I run out of terms:)

Chile Paraguay bet came early yesterday and didn't watch it, push is good:)
4960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee is dead, are his coins lost? on: June 25, 2021, 04:02:37 PM
His last Tweets say he doesn't have anything left, or that they are all with McAfee (the company) and all gone. He would have taken care of all that already with his lawyers long before this, so I doubt there's anything left that's locked.

His daughter seemed the most active campaigner of all so I bet she's the one who knows most where his stash is, if there's any left.
