4961  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: India plans to introduce law to ban cryptocurrency trading on: January 02, 2021, 09:19:51 PM
India is not a fully capitalist country is not a surprise to some but you have to decide which is the stronger system for wealth creation, large government and force or free enterprise and exchange.   Generally its better to allow something to proceed positively and only lightly tax its existence as it should already be a benefit to the economy, to society and indirectly bring tax revenue to government.   An overall restriction can lead to less business or exchange that occurs outside the country losing the benefit to the citizens of India or wherever else.   These principles are not respected everywhere in the world hence I say capitalism is not what I would assume but I hope its improving over the years.   Its nothing new that government here or anywhere would illustrate its budget in a way that gives a beneficial point of view.  That is the nature of politics but it should not also be the basis for the countries economy or it will lose easy growth India could gain from which is unfortunate for everyone even the wider world.
4962  Economy / Speculation / Re: No Resistance From $30K-$40K? on: January 02, 2021, 07:55:46 PM

According to the round numbers theory, $40K would be the next predictable resistance after $30K.

Whoah there  Grin I reckon we got to qualify 30k still as we pass on a weekend not all market participants are involved yet and yea theres nothing to push back here except the gradual drip of sales from actual long term holders.   People have bills and circumstances especially this last year which means they have a use for dollars (or those services, taxes demanding usd) exchanged for BTC so that will happen and then of course we have the new buyers but also people more likely to sell near term as well.     Weakness in pricing wont be apparent till we test it , so in a froth situation it'll keep expanding till heat simmers down some.

It could goto 50k for all I know, people did speak big of possible gains for this wider time frame of say 3 years or so.   I dont disagree but I dont see why it should occur so simply all at once and in one direction.   Just a basic recollection of 2017 was that it involved horrible sell offs, I dont see how we removed that process its there still I reckon.

4963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v15.0 (Windows/Linux) on: January 02, 2021, 06:55:50 PM
Ok just to summarize, so the latest Claymore release was a while ago and the easiest route here is just use gminer release 3 days old though some others will work also.  For the moment claymore itself needs an update.  I'll have a look at the epochs mod also from this vid - https://vimeo.com/495752694
I guess its already known but I have 36gig commit, 16gb physical and 8gb on the card and either way it does require an update afaik
4964  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 02, 2021, 12:53:56 AM
Wow it's a nice setup you have there... is that an 086? 5.25 floppies right?  Grin

I owned one of those with dual floppies, did the whole deal including an early GUI (Gem?) predating general windows usage.    I managed to find a buyer for it (its heavy so not easy to do) as it had been working the same for decades, not much but when its a complete deal with monitor and printer someone had a use for it.     Used to type all my old test essays on it as my handwriting is hieroglyphical but I top 50wpm np

creeping march
Its something to be wary of overall and 14 days is rapid if we account for non working days also.  So the market surprise from Ripple which was a centralised puppet setup anyway is spreading to other coins for some reason, its notable as news I think.    A year ago I did expect some negative news in crypto overall so hope its not to reappear now.   Immediate effect for BTC is some forced buying as people dont want to be marooned in an exchange that already over charges for withdrawal fees etc.   so generally I think some knock on effect even outside the exchange.

BTC is above the 2 day average but also some constricting range near 30k recently.
4965  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this a good time to invest? on: January 01, 2021, 11:57:33 PM
We're near 30k now which means some profit taking is a fairly clear view.    Perhaps an opportunity to buy into the weakness if thats your view to speculate in this area.
Its absolutely not displaying that weakness at present but we have suspended main markets in many countries due to the new year which means you can expect some difference on reentering that full trade flow, I think we do properly challenge the 2 day just because it often tests it this area and its a very fast harsh white waters type of action that can go either way.

I've tried out the H-captcha option a few times and I think I prefer it, easily done in under 10 seconds.   No super slow triggering fade in and blurry pic to trick me so its being nice to me.       Some sites have this feature turned up 11 and its an exam level test of mental agility, dexterity and mostly patience of a saint Tongue ok maybe not that much but it can be irritating, so far its good for me.

I won the Dec price guess, I'm calling it a win as the highest bet I placed came in and its easily covering all my other guess thanks to 34x odds.   I could have had higher confidence and so bet and pay off but I like a win and only 2% went with this I think so makes me think Im smart Tongue   over 30k would have been nice but I think theres some natural resistance there.

Oh, thanks for reminding me that I bet Ethereum price also! Indeed I won that one. Smiley

Yep I got that one also, makes up for not owning more of the ETH but this pays out in BTC so its a good bet.    I lost the overall 2020 BTC price bet, I was too bearish on that long shot.
4967  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this a good time to invest? on: December 30, 2020, 10:46:08 PM
Invest is an awful word to use, its slang because its not an investment its more like a commodity speculation.    Thats fine, buy and hold but investment is the ownership of a means of production rather then holding the byproduct in hopes of playing the market bid vs offer correctly over time.   Modern definitions blur the lines but the difference matters, its an excellent time to speculate as we receive large swells in the price but not many of us are qualified as professional traders so we take a gamble.   If you want to buy and hold, make sure you can buy a dozen times over the next two years and you will likely benefit from the sustained participation.

Trying to guess the price to within 2500 a year out would be kinda ridiculous though.   The higher the price goes the larger the swing it achieves with giant momentum I find it hard to predict except ascending vertically like this imo is not sustainable.   Unlike a rocket launch we dont have a zero gravity end zone to rely on but actually something close to a constant in terms of potential selling.  Sure the dollar loses its value but its also a giant GDP with backing around the world even the biggest bear does not expect a rate of loss that can balance vs this rate of gain in BTC hence speculative cycles are going to occur.
We're not a helium balloon, its not that easy   Tongue   DXY does look continually horrible btw which is a rough Dollar gauge, just for balance in that argument; Im not bearish 2021 but I wont be rushing to place any large bet immediately Im thinking of 2017 the time for calm consideration was year start.

Anyhow made a slow withdrawal and it cleared in like 15 mins inside that schedule thing but thats pretty good service imo.   I have other wallets but I'll just use those to replace what I withdrew etc.     Also did 6 attempts on the captcha pic, it really didnt like my guesses that time but still for the Wheel of fortune its alot faster then some sites where the pic fades out super slow then comes to test you like multiple times.

The time weight multiplier makes those who bet earlier win a bigger share of the prize pool.

I put in my long shot bets at this time, either way its a small bet high multiplier guess

4969  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin have jump to $27000, can this be maintain by 2021? on: December 30, 2020, 06:20:01 AM
The most important part to guessing I realised after posting that was the red pin shown on the chart there, quite bullish reversal.   The price action later formed a higher low again failing to break any lower so its gone much higher now reattempting the highs.   Market does usually give some clue but its quite slight and I got to sit there and ponder these things with slightly more patience it seems, obviously after the fact is alot easier to say but it was fair to see an ascending low series.
Somebody elses chart, with volume weighted averages below showing momentum is with the gains still.
4970  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin have jump to $27000, can this be maintain by 2021? on: December 29, 2020, 03:02:39 PM
I think 2021 overall will be bullish and been thinking that'd be the case since last year however we did already rise quite suddenly, I think gains  must be digested and I dont know if that means a low first before a later high.   People would prefer the simple case of a continual rise but it never seems to go that way, BTC does often attempt to sell even while rising alot and I remember 2017 it was like a snake trying to escape in its progress even positively.

Price goes sideways at this hour, deciding which rate of momentum it wishes to maintain.

I have a couple of friends that like to place sport bets just by watching odds!
most of times they don't know absolutely nothing about a team or a specific league but they continue to play in this manner.

I totally believe that because of convenience, not many people want to sit down and do homework to figure out the odds or weigh up every factor properly vs the near maths for various odds offered on varying outcomes, scores etc.   Often the best bet I find is not the outright winner but a side bet that the crowd are passing over and is far better value in its likelyhood to pay off then just voting your favorite team to win it.
I can easily say any firm that wants to be successful in this space or even across the whole range of crypto sites needs to make itself as simple and convenient as possible, if people can get a 1 shot click bet to go ahead with their favourite sports then they'll more likely go with it.   Its totally understandable because most people are distracted and occupied by more immediate concerns in real life and the up coming game is some time away so does not receive much attention and neither do their bets so people are often wrong for being rushed in their considerations of the game its pretty clear.
4972  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was 22.3K the correction? on: December 28, 2020, 11:18:13 PM
To return to 22.3k now would take some doing but its still possible.   On a chart theres a few levels of support and trend of buying above that price, so on a map it would be on the edge of possible destinations for price to travel near term.

Market doesnt want to pull back especially right now but I bet theres some profit taking and general supply coming in, but also demand too which I wonder if its still rising or not and its the tipping point in balance between those two which really gives us the price decided.  22.3k is a corrective price though, it was previously and it would be now.   Its a ledge in any fall likely to have some orders placed at it to buy in, 22.7 is more prominent above that.   We're way off currently, I just wanted to look at daily bars where its still within scope

grudge me, user with 140 tickets won the lottery. very rare luck.

Well no, I've seen this before and it gives me eternal hope my paltry lottery ticket collection each week might give me a win.    Sadly not so far but I'm glad someone is having some good luck anyhow.

Quote
with the higher multiplier you have better odds.
Thats a good tip but I might disagree with it being worse if I understood you correctly.   The odds for flipping a coin stack up and are cumulative and comparable to the longer odds I would think, you shouldnt be worse off taking the high risk in sum total.

if anyone won an iphone or rolex watch from this free spin

Someone posted about getting 500 golden tickets I think it was which is not a small deal.   I'll take that luck if possible but the Rolex or whichever top prize is to start off with already slim odds and an even smaller amount would make a post about it because they'd be too busy spending the proceeds etc.

It is one wheel of fortune spin a day or 1 email a day, I was just mentioning if you have been too busy to check and away for a while its worth noting the emails do allow you to claim that spin the next day so check for two is my tip if you've been too busy to play.  Doubles the luck hopefully.

I couldn't even dream of bitcoin reaching to 28k+ levels in my wildest dreams
I wish I had a better imagination tbh, I would have persevered  slightly more mining at $100 BTC but to imagine any perfect scenario is silly.   However I have a habit of foreseeing great change and not respecting it fully.   I was  PGP user decades ago, also SETI which was one of the first wide spread unit work programs across the internet for 'normal' people.   I used one of the first windows versions and recommended the company share as GUI over typing scripts in DOS like is easy for me to do GUI is far more intuitive for the common population.   Common utility, efficiency is what drives gains ultimately so BTC now is too speculative, its usage needs to be greater on that last point its not easy enough still.  All the speculators owe 'little' sites like this a great deal as really its the blockchain backbone by addressing so many normal small users imo.

Anyhow the Sunday price action (the candle is a quite negative reversal) gives a hint we can sell but seems there is enough momentum and hopeful buying that we continue upto month end hence 30k remains possible.
4974  Economy / Speculation / Re: I doubt Bitcoin will dip below 20k again on: December 28, 2020, 05:09:10 PM
Its not the price alone that is the danger its the nature of the elevation and who holds it, speculative froth to put it succinctly.    Froth is not substance at all, we can clear the top of a skyscraper and then return to street level.   I dont know how much of that fast money is in the price but its inevitable when we rise this much that people are just taking a gamble they will reverse on.

So we're risen into the middle of nowhere but usefully the 2 day average is fast enough to keep up and underlines the lows recently.   The correct range or normal for daily trend would be the lower 20k's for price, we've gone far past that moving faster over time.   What I'd expect to happen is we move fastest when closest to the top so the pace puts us off the road eventually.
The candle or price action for Sunday was bearish, a sell off like that usually has an impact but also a Sunday jolt into Monday open is slightly predictable and perhaps the momentum ignores this fault now.  At some point selling like this will matter again, the price likely over reacts in both directions hence below 20k seems probable to me but I've heard traders say we're done with that now.

4975  Economy / Speculation / Re: How is bitcoin worth buying now at these prices? on: December 27, 2020, 11:59:31 PM
Buy regularly over time not all at once and the answer is yes be involved.   The reason being this is a common question or problem faced in many growth sectors and assets, but the answer its always better to be involved with a growth asset even when its already risen considerably previous.   The caution or brakes you apply to your investment to be in control and steady long term your involvement over time, you cannot know the price direction truly none of us are for sure in absolute knowledge.    Surprise to the upside is literally the name of the game for Bitcoin, so with regular investing if you buy every month for the next two years at least you will capture a steady price and have yourself a proper plan and pace.
Put it this way its far more likely to succeed with 24 shots in your gun then hoping you get a  perfect shot and profitable trade just arriving at the right time while not having a full interest prior.    I can also say the worse thing is to enter the market on hype and froth of price rapidly rising only to leave as the tide goes out thinking thats all the story ever was, nobody long term wants you to leave without actually using BTC and finding a reason to be a holder in long term; this is the user base crypto ultimately needs to be a success.
4976  Economy / Speculation / Re: How will Bitcoin trend at this time? on: December 27, 2020, 09:32:45 PM
December 17th volume, maybe we go on largest trade done in a day for direction rather then purely price alone.    The greater the consensus the better that strength at a price will hold and it develops weight and gravity to it I think.    So perhaps I will look across December for a better read, rising over xmas doesnt involve everyone, thats the problem we have to revise prices and its normal to require this so its not negative for rechecking tbh.

So price right now is back to 2 day average, very short term measure.    More confidence is where we are with weekly moving average as we dont caught up in holiday type pricing, so we'll see how we go between these two useful moving trends or momentum measures.   26k is somewhere price will revolve around it seems.

Gambling is definitely banned in some parts of the world or some countries you have the choice of government run or nothing.   Its seen as a nationalized form of taxable business, since the idea of a bet on a risk is so basic then that might lead easily to a ban in some part but its outright banned in some places.  Then Bitcoin itself can be banned though Im not 100% on the authoritarian method of government so its hard to say how this filters into an actual economy or population of users in their access.   The easiest answer to the question might be its available for all but not all are free.

1000 is super unlikely as its been almost 4 years since that last happened and we've had giant dollar printing enough to fill a skyscraper if they ever used paper instead of adding a zero to their bank accounts.  Getting 1000 dead on should be coincidental as catching a comet in a catchers mitt, anyone that lucky should be allowed to collect the winnings from both pots it overlaps I reckon but thats just me :p

Ideally this should feed also the odds into a spreadsheet to identify the sweet spot or effective payout in usd also.   If you bet on zero, you win and you dont get anything exactly though thats an extreme it kinda applies with these giant swings at present.   Market pulling back into Monday but about 26k is area to watch and its the close of weekly bar here
4978  Economy / Speculation / Re: I doubt Bitcoin will dip below 20k again on: December 27, 2020, 07:23:00 PM
After today's little $2k mini-correction, the likelihood of a major correction before $30k is diminishing... and thus the chance of ever going below $20k is getting less and less.

That combined with institutional adoption points to sub-$20k prices as being extremely unlikely. Institutional investors don't panic-sell or "take profits" willy-nilly like retail speculators.

We're out of hours now and the price moved a giant amount, can we say its institutional investors that are attributable to the price action being so bullish.  I think its the usual boom bust scenario of people jumping on a band wagon to hold an asset they dont want to use especially (now) but want to gain from.   Iam always going to believe our actual correct pricing revolves more around the ongoing usage case for Bitcoin, I really dislike the dream floated of Bitcoin being the only currency in the world or even taking over from the dollar.   I think thats delusional and makes me think we just reverse price gains if people dont accept lesser ambitions.
So as you said yourself miniature correction, on a small time scale I agree its quickly resolving upwards.   The true bulk of BTC is working from weekly bars not the lesser time frames we try to observe a good time to enter and profit from trades.    So I think it takes more then just a high price to remove the possibility of profit taking, Im making a hard case for myself here as we are so positive I just dont like people kidding themselves we are always going to be trending up as its not been that way previous.   Its always a set of cycles on varying time frames and each wider bar is more powerful then the quicker movements below, so daily and weekly are the smallest important areas we must prove strength by; also monthly and quarterly moves are relevant imo.

So a graph is better then words and maybe, looking at 26879 as a good rung to hold us in positive price action as the best guide I find myself with as I cant easily guess where we go only to best notice when we are about to stop
4979  Economy / Speculation / Re: I doubt Bitcoin will dip below 20k again on: December 27, 2020, 02:02:33 PM
I think you might curse it saying such things, the peak to trough last time was 16% so maybe speculate on that.   If equal we'd see 4600 as the low in similar low sentiments which is always possible as people can withdraw money especially an economy not growing which is a different consideration to inflation imo.    The main deal is I dont think we are seeing the end of volatility just because price rises regularly like this, its done in a short period of time as others have noted which means despite the appreciation of price it can also be unstable negatively too afaik.
4980  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: December 27, 2020, 08:55:11 AM
$1m is hyper inflation territory, anything's possible but in one month Shocked   Thats a 2021 bet

I placed bets on Trump to win but it didnt swing that way despite the polls being off once again I dont expect any change to the news and if this news changes in various legal ways we are going to hear about it every day non stop for possibly years so repeating it here isnt required.    I love long odds, the incredibly unlikely bet that comes through but I dont expect to win all my bets & it never goes all my way.  The politics discussion is for another forum section as theres no numbers or bets in there for us to take a view and place a bet.   People move onto the next bet in this section, thats how gambling goes but in politics section they'll spend 4 years arguing the case Im pretty sure.    I'm interested in the varying odds for the Georgia Senate race if you want to start a new thread, that'd be immediately relevant and its a key race.

Anyhow I'm watching the BTC price race up and its pretty off the hook at present, its peaking towards the 30k target that is supposed to complete this bullish cycle.   It might not be the end there, just thats its surprising we catapult like this way and the odds reflect that unlikelihood.  I almost expect it to meet the 64x odds of over 30k but seems like it can very easily be one of these two, the main test is Monday trading as we meet main markets late on Sunday this is the Japanese open.   There is some caution, volume also peaked on Dec 17th which can mean lower accuracy in pricing on lower volume.

I managed to miss 2 Wheel of Fortune spins but looked for the emails and caught both in time before expiring, it gives 48 hrs so its worth checking for 2 seperate emails and doubling the chance of winning on that instance.
