4961  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitcoin giveaway scam being conducted live on YouTube. *scam alert* on: May 11, 2020, 10:27:46 PM
Now the amount of giveaway scammers has increased. Because now I see paid advertisements of such fake giveaway videos on Youtube, which surprised me a lot. How youtube allow them to run a scam giveaway video paid promotion? These channels can be hacked channels, there are a lot of subscribers to the channels. And since there are newbies in these channels who don't know about this scam yet, they have sent funds to scammers in the hope of doubling BTC. It is very sad that they lost their money in this way.

So how do we protect ourselves from these Youtube scammers?

(1) Educate our selves that there's no such thing as free BTC
(2) Youtube needs to do better with their process, on what videos are to be seen in their platform

And as crypto users we have responsibility to:

(1) Report fake videos right away so that Youtube will react
(2) Warn this community like the OP did

Those videos have been take down already.
4962  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Take profit on: May 11, 2020, 02:41:38 PM
Why not invest on BTC though? I mean we can't really identify which crypto related projects (masternode or staking or lending) will not scam us or not lose our money in the long run? At least BTC has been in the market for many years and has prove itself already. And the OP's question is subjective, maybe we can give him advise to go to this masternode or stake in this POS but we can't really say that it will be a guarantee that he will profit.
4963  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Real or fake? on: May 11, 2020, 02:07:10 PM
This is the classic fake giveaways we have seen in the past using famous names, Bill Gates, Vitalik Buterin, Elon Musk. I advise you to visit this board Scam Accusations. So the answer is yes, this are fake, no one in their right mind will give you something for free, specially in cyrptosphere. There are a lot of scammers out there, so you need to be very cautious, just because you received twice as much money you send them doesn't mean that they are not scammers.
4964  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Correction in the next days? on: May 11, 2020, 12:57:08 PM
It will have a small little breather before the halving then dumps to $8000-$7000 level this it is only an speculation but according to every Halving event Bitcoin always takes a move to the downside before having a massive move to the upside. Even in the Stock to flow model this is shown in detailed.
The question is will it repeat again, this is probably what most traders speculates.

We have seen the corrections already, but it seems that bull are fighting hard to get back the market into the $9k before the halving itself. I think the main concern here is what will be the price pre-halving and then we will speculate after it. Yes, the price will not go on a parabolic rise, history has shown that. We really need to go to a downside before a massive gain is to achieved. Just hours from know, we will see what this halving will bring to the whole crypto market, including alts. As we all know that bitcoin has a big impact to alt market as well.
4965  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to identify Crypto exchange scam?? on: May 11, 2020, 12:07:23 PM
High withdrawal fees are also one of the known exchanges scams.
Always do your research, it is better to spend some more time looking for information than regreting it later that you didn't.

Or better yet, you can't withdraw any. Yes, I have heard Exstock pulling scams in crypto space recently. I guess the only options is (1) used DEX (2) if you are going to used CEX, you should go with the top like Binance or high liquidity exchanges. In the space we move and live in, you can't really trust anyone here, and check the history of exchanges before depositing any of your hard earn money so always DYOR. You can also check this website https://www.bti.live/exchanges/ for fake volume reports and which exchange are faking their volumes.
4966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: May 11, 2020, 11:31:15 AM
This is a kind of old issue yet this is a new published article but what do you think about this?

--> https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/david-robinson-says-no-one-should-be-surprised-that-isiah-thomas-was-left-off-dream-team-chemistry-matters/

Those who were able to witness their glory days, I was still young during that time.

Maybe we will never know the truth on why Isiah Thomas was not selected. There were a lot of speculations that time that still haunts up to this day that Jordan has something to do with it. But it was squash my many NBA insider. Maybe there are also a lot of superstars that time that really don't like Isiah, for instance Magic Johnson or even Larry Bird. Also, it is interesting to note that they have Magic and Stockton as PG so there's no room for Isiah that time.
4967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How are you celebrating Bitcoin Halving? - less than 9 hours to go on: May 11, 2020, 10:50:46 AM
For the record the community has it's own Bitcointalk Halving Party - Discord server organised by Cyrus.

Personally, by the time halving happens, it is going to be about the early morning here, so I'm probably sleeping that time. I guess nothing really, not going to have celebration on my end. But I'm going to go online the first time I wake up in the morning and see what will be the effect price wise.
4968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you consider bch price enought lower to buy? on: May 10, 2020, 10:24:53 PM
Looks like probably can get more down, but know that bch has a good m.cap and that whas worth more than 2700usd, do you consider 230 usd enought or maybie cause btc will fall probably more is till not bottom?

First, it's really hard to time the market and buy at the bottom, even TA can't really predict if we have reach the bottom for BCH. Second, even if someone says it's a good buying signal, most likely he is a bagholder of BCH and obviously shilling for it.

What would I advise you is to try and buy in small portions and see how it goes. Maybe we can see another dump, if that happens then buy at the dip. If the price goes up, unless you have entered, don't go all in as you might get burn early.
4969  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] ExtStock Exchange turns into scam. on: May 10, 2020, 01:22:00 PM
I've never heard of extstock exchange before and even if I have heard about the exchange I can't use such to trade because it's not recognized as a top exchange, stay away from new exchanges or low rated exchanges, they always turn scam in the end

Thanks but as I said I used it for airdrop purpose only. All my assets that was scammed by them was from airdrop.

But doesn't change the fact that you have been trick by time and I'm sure you have spend some time as well. Anyhow, another lessons to be learn here, airdrop is also another way for scammers to victimised unsuspecting victims. And @Ridwan Fauzi posted link accusations again them, so I'm not surprised. Thanks though for giving us a heads-up and I do hope that no one will fall for their gimmick or at least no one will just that shady exchange.
4970  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is freewallet a good? on: May 10, 2020, 12:32:56 PM
Freewallet has lots of accusation threads and reviews, so no. AFAIK, they're well known at least for scamming by abusing the KYC policy. If you are looking for a good Bitcoin wallet, go for Mycelium or Electrum. Or, even better, buy a Ledger or a Trezor. Smiley

I agree, although is is a open source wallet, https://github.com/jdogresorg/freewallet, there are some accusations about them:

Freewallet is SCAM
Freewallet.org is SCAM !! DO NOT USE THIS WALLET !![Solved]
FREEWallet.org BIG SCAM, THIEF'S ( Don't use any of their iOS or Android APP )
FREEWallet.org is a SCAM!!(solved)

So I will be cautious using their services, if there is one that I could suggest, it will be Electrum: https://electrum.org/.
4971  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help for use maltiple bitcointalk account. on: May 10, 2020, 11:49:47 AM
I suggest you read the rules here,

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

As per rule, you can have multiple accounts using the same ip address, the question is, why do you need to have many accounts though? what is your intention?

And if you used your 2 accounts to join one bounty, then that is cheating if your accounts are discovered = neg trust.
4972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 10, 2020, 11:16:10 AM
Just some interesting news in the tennis world.

Rafel Nadal's warning to world No.1: Djokovic needs vaccination to play

Quote
Rafael Nadal says world No.1 Novak Djokovic will need to be vaccinated to keep playing if tennis' governing bodies make coronavirus shots obligatory once they become available.

Nadal said week that Djokovic and all players will have to follow the rules when tennis eventually returns to action.

World No.2 Nadal said no one can be forced to take the vaccine and everyone should be free to make their choices, but all players will have to comply if tennis officials require "vaccination to travel" and to "protect" everyone on the tour.

"Then Djokovic will have to be vaccinated if he wants to keep playing tennis at the top level," Nadal said. told Nadal told the Spanish newspaper La Voz de Galicia

"The same for me. Everyone will have to follow the rules, just like now we have to stay at home."

Djokovic recently said he was against taking a vaccine for the coronavirus even if it became mandatory to travel. He later said he was open to changing his mind.

https://wwos.nine.com.au/tennis/nadal-djokovic-needs-vaccination-to-play/12c67fd9-ea5e-46a7-9b9e-67cd12f6d6f5

I'm not familiar with Novak Djokovic statement about not wanting to be vaccinated if ever if will be mandatory and of course if vaccine have been discovered for covid-19 virus. Obviously, everyone should get vaccinated, I don't understand why Djokovic is against it on the first place. Maybe he thinks it can affect his performance maybe? I don't know.
4973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers, asking for salary during the shutdown on: May 10, 2020, 10:28:55 AM
I heard that some countries began to implement a plan to gradually launch the economy. And above all, industrial enterprises received work permits. I wonder when entertainment enterprises (casinos belong to them, I think) will receive similar permissions? This would help casino workers no longer depend on the goodwill of the government or employer.

Here in our country, we are gradually moving from enhanced quarantine to general quarantine on general quarantine businesses and other establishments can reopen but with strict restrictions and guidelines, could be possible with gambling casinos so they can allow their work to go to their work and earn a living.

Actually government can lax their community quarantine so that the business can resume not just in Las Vegas. But there need to be restrictions and it's hard to implement restrictions based on what I've seen in our country. People still continue as if there was no virus to protect themselves. I agree with the "earn a living" argument and "bring food to the table". But this virus knows nothing about it, no colour or race, those casino workers will really risk if they are allowed to go back to work. Really hard decision for the government to make at this point.
4974  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin exceed 20k this year like in 2017? on: May 09, 2020, 10:35:44 PM
As we saw in 2016, Bitcoin got its full form, and at the same time all the Crypto Markets looked like the Green Sea, do you think we will be able to see the green field just like before after Bitcoin halving this year as well. I think something better is coming for us, what do you think?BTC

It doesn't work that way, I mean we can't compare what happened to 2016-2017, the market back then has just started to ramp up, and then the whole ICO craze pushes the crypto market to it's bubble. So I don't expect that we are going to reach $20k this year, there are so many parameters to consider right now, the pandemic, investors getting mature, manipulation from whales. So it's better to not expect something big is going to happen just because of the halving, yes it could be a catalyst for the next bull run, but it won't happen in just a year or so, it will take sometime to reach $20k or even a new all time high.
4975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AGATE Token exchange listing and token burn on: May 09, 2020, 10:03:59 PM
Thank you @posi for sending a message regarding AGATE, I totally forget about this bounty, LOL.

I just check the market, https://exmarkets.com/trade/agt-btc

It looks like there are no activity for this token. Maybe it is too early to say but I do hope that it will reach it's pre-ICO price. Although I'm not expecting something big to happen, unless we are able to ride along the pump-and-dump of this coin.

4976  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2 Days countdown for halving. Come and leave your idea. on: May 09, 2020, 11:13:42 AM
It just barely touch $10k pre-halving though, the current price is $9600-$9700. Why you feel weird though? This market is very volatile, ups and downs you should be used to it. Network security? It will still be the same, majority of miners are honest so I don't think that we should feel threaten in any way just because we are approaching halving. Market is different though, as I have said, it is very unstable, we really don't know what the future hold. Maybe we can see some minor dump after the halving, so this growth will continue and might push the price above 5 digits again.
4977  Economy / Economics / Re: Virus Bear Market? on: May 09, 2020, 10:46:51 AM
Okay I can see markets are recovering on the bases of hoping lock-down restrictions are lifted and everything is back to normal by June.

I don't think that we will be back normal soon. This pandemic has somewhat reset everyone's outlook in life.

However... Governments are saying there might be a 2nd wave of the virus later this year or next year. Will we experience another crash like we had in march when 2nd wave hits?

If I'm not mistaken, countries that eases up, like South Korea and China was this kind fo 2nd wave already.

Whats your take on this? I have a feeling it wont be simply a U or V shape recovery. Its gonna be volatile like M or W until a vaccine right? If theres no vaccine and theres a 2nd wave then it will be L game over for the markets, but where does bitcoin stands?

Even without this pandemic, It won't be very easy to see the price goes on a parabola. It will still be very volatile, sideways market, few break outs here and there. But I don't think it will be a L game, we might see some corrections, but it doesn't mean we can't bounce back.
4978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow mentions Bitcoins in it’s latest episode. on: May 09, 2020, 09:40:37 AM
Umm another publicity for btc, but those it really have any positive impact on btc anymore than what it has already achieved? What will this bring to btc and the crypto community! Publicity or adoption! Which is even more important at this moment,
Anyways, it is good to see btc mentioned in such well known movie, I guess it will widen the scope of awareness.

But we can't deny the fact that it is still publicity right? regardless if it's good or bad. And the timing is just about perfect as we are just a couple of days from the most anticipated bitcoin halving. We have seen this kind of media attention or even Hollywood stars joining the bandwagon during its hype and peaked last 2017. This shout-out is good, crypto is slowly sipping in the pop culture and we all know that when people talks about something in the internet, it might give bitcoin another boost.
4979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee says he received call from Satoshi Nakamoto asking not to be reveal on: May 08, 2020, 10:45:09 PM
CSW and McAfee IMO should join forces and become best buddies with their neverending web of lies. McAfee is an extremely opportunistic man willing to grab everything that benefits him no matter the circumstances. The dude used to have a straight mind and an admirable character until the money and greed get a hold of him. It's unbelievable that satoshi would make contact with someone who is literally wasting his life away just to say 'please'.

Or drugs took over and created John to what he is in the last decade or so. Take everything with a grain of salt here, and as far as I know he is on the run from US, a fugitive. Maybe the US government doesn't see him as a threat though, that's why he can still go and have some media exposure. But then again, we all know that everything he says is just full of mind blowing stories. And now that he uses Satoshi's name to gain back the spotlight on him. Satoshi choose to remain anonymous so I'm sure that he didn't have any contact or even have this phone conversation with John.
4980  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: In your opinion, which alt coins should pump the most after the halving and why? on: May 08, 2020, 03:21:50 PM
In the scenario that BTC goes up, and alt coins market pump, then obviously the top ten alts will be bump as well. ETH, XRP, Binance, Tezos will likely be the first recipient of the this domino effect. We have seen this happened before specially during bitcoin's peak. ETH has still a lot of hype, with it's ETH 2.0 and we might see XRP as well competing in the second spot. Then Binance with CZ behind promoting it and probably upcoming projects will used it Binance mainnet. And then there goes the pump-and-dump scheme of some low coins as well. Trying to take advantage of the hype again. It's going to be wild on altcoin markets once bitcoin entered its bull-run.
