4981  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Need advice for mining setup - have free electricity on: January 31, 2017, 06:55:51 PM
It's exactly like adaseb said. What I'd like to add is that every power line has its max current and that current is limited by 2 factors: the breaker (which is somewhere if not at your apartment then in the basement) and the thickness of the wire. There will always be a limit of what you can draw. Let's assume you are running a single phase, for a 4mm wire it's around 5500W of constant draw. A single s3 draws 366W, so with 3 of those you are completely fine and can go 24/7 along your home appliances, but a bigger farm with over 9 units would most likely trip the breakers sooner or later. Of course there's a possibility you have 3 phases, but  you should confirm that before you buy the miners.
4982  Economy / Services / Re: i can mentor to make Insane ammount of Bitcoins on: January 30, 2017, 09:18:38 PM
I'm skeptical and not going to ask for mentoring, but I'm curious about the results. Did anyone try this? Share your experiences.
I find it funny that OP requires a proof that you own coins, but takes no collateral, which means you can start earning yourself and pay him nothing.
4983  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who voted for trump? on: January 30, 2017, 09:05:57 PM
I'm not an American citizen so I haven't voted, but I'm actually happy that Trump won. Clinton was a proven liar, a wife of a proven liar and one of the worst US presidents in history. She is also quite old and unhealthy, not fit to become the leader. Trump is not perfect, but he's a lesser evil.

Trump lies more than any President we have ever had.  Most of his lies are dumb, though, so maybe telling the truth was actually a detriment to the office.

On the other hand, really?  Harding, Grant, Andrew Johnson were really bad.  And although GW Bush did great things for Africa, he got us into a lot of the mess we are in right now with respect to the Middle East.
I know he wasn't the worst, I never said he was, but he lied under oath. Kept trying to ban guns, wow. Achievements? Got a BJ in the Oval Office, high five!

4984  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Need advice for mining setup - have free electricity on: January 30, 2017, 08:36:56 PM
Do you have an agreement about the amount of electricity you can use? If not then check the fuse box. What rating is on the fuses in your apartment and how many are there? A miner needs to be constantly online, so you will need to separate a circuit with a fuse, to be able to run a miner and your home appliances at the same time. You will also need to check if the walls are thick enough or you may have trouble sleeping.
4985  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis Mining vs Hashflare Review - Which is better? on: January 30, 2017, 08:27:12 PM
I'd like you to focus on this one simple point:
Hashflare
Mining Period – Based on hashrate
Genesis Mining
Mining Period – Lifetime

Just this small thing should make a red light start flashing.
Based on hashrate means that the period can be extended, but we don't know to what point. It can be a year to ROI, it can be 3 years. You can't argue with them if it becomes extended to 4 or 5 years, because the company does not guarantee anything.

Lifetime is a joke. Whose life are we talking about? The client's or maybe the CEO's? Some of us may live for another 60 years, I'd like to bet the owner that he won't be paying his clients for that long, even if it were to be just a dollar a month. If you believe their company will still exist in the year 2057, be my guest.

4987  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining experiences on: January 30, 2017, 07:49:48 PM
Op, you basically answered your question yourself. There are basically 2 types of cloud mining now:

1. Probably legit cloud mining - like Genesis but you won't reach satisfactory level of profits from investing in their services.
2. And 99% of other cloud mining is scam - you said that you invested money in HashOcean - so you know how this works, at some point operator of fake cloud mining run off with your money.

There's no real way to know if a mining site is hosting real miners or not. You won't hit ROI regardless, so it's not a big deal either way, but just because an owner runs off with funds doesn't mean they weren't running a legitimate business prior.
Right, the discussion is pointless, because the whole method of earning is flawed. There's no way for a cloud mining user to profit, all these schemes are meid to either look legit for a while and run with the money, or really mine for themselves and loan money from investors.
Cloud mining is unprofitable, stay away from it!
4988  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk suggested as being the home of scammers. on: January 30, 2017, 07:17:06 PM
Only a complete idiot would attack an open forum after paying for something the seller never owned. I could start a thread now and say I'm selling a pound of gold for 10BTC, payment first, and then send him a pound of bricks, whose fault would it be? The author is naive and salty.
4989  Other / Meta / Re: Account farming. Allowed? on: January 28, 2017, 07:24:11 PM
Some of these people are really crazy farmers.

He started writing professionally on May 18th, and since then wrote 3767 posts! It's about 14 posts every single day for the past 9 months. If this is the same person, who farmed the other accounts, this is some serious business. We could even call it a job.  Wink
4990  Other / Meta / Re: What's your "Report to Moderator" % rate at? on: January 28, 2017, 07:10:27 PM
Damn, OP should change the thread name as; How much of a snitch are you?

S.O. to people who report the scams tho.
And how do you know if something is a scam or not? You can suspect it' but neither you, nor the moderator should prosecute people without a valid proof.

My report is at 100%, but I'm only reporting obvious and most annoying violations.
4991  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: .Govs Now Want to Come After the BTC Mixers on: January 28, 2017, 07:05:57 PM
I hope they don't push through with it, like you said, it is indeed a necessary financial tool for people to remain anonymous regardless of whether we are using it for illegal or legal activities. But, I don't think they can stop it. There would be a service if there is a demand for it. They'll just hide in the darknet away from prying eyes.
They can do whatever they want and still won't achieve much. Fighting windmills is all they'll be doing, just like their fight against torrent sites. It's been ongoing for years and still if I want to download something from a torrent site it will take me minutes to find and less than an hour to download (couple GB file).

“Their use is expected to increase exponentially in the coming years. And understandably so, since they improve payment efficiency, reduce transaction and fund transfer costs, while facilitating international remittances.”

At least they confirmed it  Grin It's time to buy!
4992  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump first action as a president: attack abortion right on: January 28, 2017, 06:59:59 PM
First of all you don't have to quote last post every time you write something. It's obvious that a post without quotes is referring to the one above it.

I agree that the pension system is stupid, mainly because of 2 reasons:
1. It's involuntary, so the money for your pension is deducted from your wage whether you want it or not. This is against the principles of democracy, because you should have the right to decide whether you want to receive pension or not.
2. If you die young the money you've paid on your pension are lost.
4993  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Soros funding riots against Trump on: January 26, 2017, 06:33:46 PM
That old fart has been known to finance protests all over the world and profit from it.
He was doing it in Europe last year. http://www.breitbart.com/london/2016/05/19/is-soros-funding-an-agitprop-protest-movement-to-destabilize-polands-new-democratically-elected-government/
Anyway, he looks bad, very old and tired, probably one of his last plays. Trump is going to have the last laugh.
4994  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Need your knowledge. on: January 26, 2017, 06:22:57 PM
Don't do it. I can see that you have no idea what you're putting your money into. Mining is not for newbies, but people who like to tinker, people who will set it all up themselves.
If you need to call the electrician to extend the wiring and and a technician to install an exhaust fan on the roof you will definitely lose money. Buy Bitcoin, you will do much better.
4995  Other / Politics & Society / Re: After death on: January 26, 2017, 06:16:01 PM
No one really knows if life after death exist or not, but there's one thing for sure. As the post above said, " There were even experiments where human body was weighted before and after death and there were significant differences" is a great proof that something is going out of a person's body that we can't see when one dies. Maybe reincarnation is real, but there's a possibility that it isn't and there is another possibility we can't even think of that happens when someone dies.

I really think that science, soon or later, will be able to find out about spiritual world and what happen with our body after death.
We have many experience from people who died or was death for a short time, but recovered and come back (close to death experiences).
When you read all this testimonies, it's impossible to deny that we continue to live after our physical death (death of our body).
I think that God didn't created us to live only short time on the earth but to live eternally with him in Heaven.
The problem is that many of these people saw completely different things. Some saw the light, some a tunnel with a light on one end, some complete darkness. Maybe these are images our brain projects right before the complete shutdown. You'd have to somehow connect to the nervous system of a dying brain and see what it does when the neurons are degenerating. I think a good idea would be to ask people who suffered a stroke, what visions they had and how it felt when part of their brain stopped working.
4996  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin goes up very high should i buy a house? on: January 26, 2017, 06:04:03 PM
It is a good investment if the house has a good location and is in a good shape. If you buy something you'll need to put a load of cash to maintain it's not worth it.

On the other hand old houses sometimes are beautiful and worth more because of rare architecture.

You can buy the house only if you have lots of bitcoins or cash. By the way it hard to find anyone selling house for bitcoins.  Perhaps you will need to convert them to cash to buy a house.  In my country the best investment is the property but it is expensive.

It isn't hard to find. This is only one of many similar auction sites, that offers real estate for Bitcoin.
http://bitcoin-realestate.com/

Property may seem like a good investment, but all can change due to a natural disaster or terrorist attack. Tsunami, flood, earthquake or a crazy muslim with c4 and bye bye dream house... No investment is safe these days.
4997  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How to survive in dictatorship? on: January 25, 2017, 05:26:19 PM
I think a dictatorship is much better than fake democracy.
In a fake democracy you are told that you have the right to choose and given a false hope that your vote means anything, but in reality every decision is still made by the government secret service and others. Do you remember how the number of total votes in Russia were over 100% once?  http://gawker.com/5864945/putin-clings-to-victory-as-russias-voter-turnout-exceeds-146
4998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be considered as a Sickness!! on: January 25, 2017, 05:08:14 PM
Totally agree.
I think most countries take more care about Problem Gambling issue now a day.

Countries can just ban the gambling websites and close all the casinos other than that they can't keep people away from gambling. If one is interested sure he'll participate in gambling through one or other way.

The government can't just close down casinos because it's a legal business right now. Besides, the rich people behind those casinos have connections to the government and they don't want to ruin their relationship to each other or they are the government themselves. Regardless, the government are making money from these casinos because of the tax, and the "donations" that these casinos give us so they won't just close it down.

Banning gambling sites would have no effect at all. Porn sites are banned in my country but the only thing that happened was it went trending on Facebook for a day and the next day people are still watching porn. Somebody would always find a way to bypass all these and the method that he discovered will just spread pretty fast.

Totally agreed. Banning something does not prevent people from it or no one will stop doing something just because it is banned. As @Fatanut gave the example of banned porn sites, it is also like that in my country but people still watch and download them using VPNs and all. And also youtube used to be banned in here once but we still used to download or watch videos from there.
Parts of YT are still banned in certain countries. For instance in Germany you often see a message "this video is not available in your country" but god bless proxy servers and sites that unlock youtube videos Cheesy
People will always find a way to deal with restrictions. I remember when they banned smoking in crowded public places, and you could get a ticket for smoking on a bus stop. People were simply walking 1m behind the stop and smoking there.
4999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you use analysis when play gambling? on: January 25, 2017, 04:59:37 PM
No, never. I play only easy random games like slots, so there's no place for analysis or deduction. You either win or not.
Card players should do it though, as tricks like card counting are proven to work.
5000  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC network will become centralized on: January 24, 2017, 12:21:27 AM
I used to own that Seagate in the picture. It was a 2 or 3GB model. My smallest hard drive was 650MB. We used to collect every drive we could find, because buying a new one required a lot of cash, at least for a teenager it was a lot. Most people I knew were running 2-3 <5GB drives connected with ide, lan networks via concentric cables and run their own ftp servers with movies and music... You had to leave pc on for the night to download a small 300MB movie or a couple of mp3s from the internet... Sounds ancient? It was exactly 16 years ago!
