I just bought a cheap ASIC block erupter USB to get started mining. I'm not trying to make a fortune, just to figure the whole thing out. I'd like to run it on a windows 7 desktop that we leave on all the time anyway. Since it's been a "coon's age" since I used any command prompts, is there a miner with a GUI that would work with my ASIC USB? I tried Easy Miner, but it shows "no devices". There is precious little info out there geared to the newbie who isn't trying to run a "farm" full of miners, so any help would be appreciated!
As others said, try to ask questions in the mining section of the forum, in the meantime take a look at this site which will help you to get started: http://www.bitcoinmining.com/getting-started/

Btc mining for us common mortals is almost impossible, but if you want to earn some coins you can take a look to the altcoins section and mine them with scrypt algo, but I think you will need a better gpu.

To earn some (few satoshi) btc you can use the faucets, and if you will be a bitcointalk member/full/sr. you can earn more by renting your signature.

I used BitStamp and btc-e to buy bitcoins (and other cryptos), I prefer the first one because of its security and trust.

I want to make a trade, I sent btc to my account on an exchange, and it got 1 confirmation but then nothing, so its still pending. I've been waiting more than an hour. Why does it take so long to confirm payments in the chain?
After a transaction is broadcast to the Bitcoin network, it may be included in a block that is published to the network. When that happens it is said that one confirmation has occurred for the transaction. With each subsequent block that is found, the number of confirmations is increased by one. To protect against double spending, a transaction should not be considered as confirmed until a certain number of blocks confirm, or verify that transaction. The classic bitcoin client will show a transaction as "n/unconfirmed" until 6 blocks confirm the transaction. Merchants and exchanges who accept bitcoins as payment can set their own threshold as to how many confirmations are required until funds can be considered valid. When potential loss due to double spending as nominal, as with very inexpensive or non-fungible items, payments can be considered confirmed as soon as it is seen on the network. Most exchanges and other merchants who bear the risk from double spending require 6 or more blocks. There is nothing special about the default, often-cited figure of 6 confirmations. It was chosen based on the assumption that an attacker is unlikely to amass more than 10% of the hashrate, and that a negligible risk of less than 0.1% is acceptable. Both these figures are arbitrary, however; 6 confirmations are overkill for casual attackers, and at the same time powerless against more dedicated attackers with much more than 10% hashrate.[1] Coins generated aren't considered confirmed by the Bitcoin protocol for 100 blocks. It is advisable to wait some additional time for a better chance that the transaction will be propogated by all nodes. The classic bitcoin client won't show generated coins as confirmed until the 120th block. Source: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Confirmation

It's not a standalone game, just download the wallet and let it sync, or download almost all the blockchain from the first post in the thread I linked before. The game is INSIDE the wallet, but you have to get used to it because it's very slow, every block discovered by miners is a move into huntercoin.

Noblecoin has all the potential to double/triple its value, it has a wide adoption between merchants, plus the possibility to buy amazon cards at low prices is awesome.

I am afraid this is not the right place for your thread. IMO, it should be placed in the altcoin forum...
Yep this isn't the gamble or altcoin section, maybe you will have more visibility in the correct forum.

Come volume Cryptsy e Mintpal sono i migliori, personalmente uso Poloniex, ha avuto qualche problema in passato ma ora sembra funzionare tutto per il meglio...

I recommend PrimeDice because the "dev" is always active and he's trusted with great feedbacks. The minimum activity is 50+, so the jr. members can't use it.

You have to download about 20 Gb of data before your wallet will sync. After that you can send (and receive) btc, if this is your first wallet it's totally empty! I recomment to read those bitcoins FAQ to better understand how it works: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/FAQ
