501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 06, 2024, 08:58:10 AM
Perhaps the Warriors are playing against the worse team in the league in Detroit Pistons hence the need for the Steve Kerr to give more playing time to his bench and even non-role players enough minute, but I hope this proves the he should be able count on these guys more going forward, and the game is quite significant a statement for Jonathan Kuminga, Trayce and Pod as I mentioned after their loss last night!!!
They did well tonight. Podziemski, Jackson-Davis, and Saric all contributed pretty well to the win against the Detroit Pistons. There were some bad moments in the fourth quarter where the Pistons got the lead but Steph Curry was so awesome at shooting his specialty 3-point shots and that put a dagger to win the game.
The sad part is that CP3 hurt himself and had to exit the game. I hope it's not that bad. Also, Steve Kerr must think about a plan for how he can calm things down whenever his team is in the lead. Because what happened today is just like what happened with the game against the Nuggets.

And this is what worry me if you are a a Warrior fan,

Quote
After sitting for the final 18 minutes of Thursday night’s loss to the Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga has lost faith in coach Steve Kerr, and the 2021 lottery pick no longer believes Kerr will allow him to reach his full potential, sources close to Kuminga tell The Athletic, adding another layer of turbulence to an already complex Warriors season.

https://theathletic.com/5181608/2024/01/05/jonathan-kuminga-steve-kerr-warriors-lineup/

He was doing great against the Nuggets, but then again Kerr substituted him with Wiggins and then he didn't let him go back the usual in the last 6 minutes of the game. So Kuminga is frustrated and we all know what happen as they meltdown in the 4th and Kuminga was in the bench and can't do anything.
502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Eight reasons why BTC will Fail. Thoughts? on: January 05, 2024, 01:19:41 PM
Not sure about the 8 reasons why BTC will fail, but the question to the OP, can also think of reasons why it will not fail as well?

Bitcoin has been with us for the last 10 years, and if there are chances that it will not succeed, then it should be in it's early years. And it almost happen, many early adopters quit and few of them really stay. But still even if the disappearance of Satoshi, the market continue to thrive to where it is right now.

So to say that there are reasons now for Bitcoin to fail? it could be just pure hatred on it, in my opinion. Then we think and insert terms, and what not to confuse Bitcoin enthusiast and then preach all about the so called fiat system.
503  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Bear Market over? on: January 05, 2024, 12:51:32 PM
Well now it is starting to feel like that the 'bear market' is over. There has been some big corrections in the last month and now are waiting for the big news about Bitcoin ETFs. And that news might come tomorrow.

It's different now, unlike the previous years, pre-halving, we suffered in worst bear market, just like in 2020, wherein the price goes down hard before the halving due to pandemic at $3k.

But now, with all the anticipation for a Bitcoin ETF approval, we've seen like 150% increased from the last lowest low of $15,500 in this bear market (FTX collapsed, November 2022). So we will see how far can we go, at this early, we already jump 3% and higher and it could increased at the end of the month.
504  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [A POLL] Without Chances of Making Money, Will you still be gambling? on: January 05, 2024, 06:13:55 AM
Could be different for anyone, I mean others might be gambling for fun really. But most of us gamble looking for a good returns at least win some money so that we can continue to play. And with that, I have nothing against those who enjoy and maybe they have extra money to burn and be entertained.

But majority of us in sports betting or even luck based games are looking for that one big win and expecting that we will have a good chance despite the odds are against us, to hit and win money.
505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale betting system on: January 05, 2024, 03:44:34 AM

I would like get more ideas from my readers

Gamble responsibly and don't gamble for profit. It is not a way of living neither it is some kind of investment. So don't think of profit when you gamble. You should only gamble when you can afford it. Because gambling should only be for Entertainment and when you can buy that entertainment only then you should gamble.

Not sure why you advise that people don't gamble for profit,  I mean that is the very definition of gambling, to make some money and that's why people love it. The thrill and the adrenaline to win big. I would understand if you tell us to be responsible, but advising not to gamble when you are in this board? Lol.

Chasing your losses is the worst when it comes to gambling. The more you chase the loss, the more loss you make. I'm against this strategy. I believe that having a specific amount for each bet and specific amount for each day is the best way to keep your emotion in check and gamble responsibly while enjoying it.

Of course I will agree with your points, not to chase losses might be good. And this strategy is not really good in the long run. But I believed that there are risk takers willing to try some strategy and see how it goes for them.
506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's Your Feeling After You Finish Gambling. on: January 05, 2024, 12:11:28 AM
Can be both - enjoyed and depressing.
Enjoy - a normal reaction when I win but Depressed when the moment I lose. But it never meant that I was in regret, I'd still make fun of doing this even if I lost my money. I am already aware of the possibilities that happen to me when gambling and it is helpless if I have to get mad. We'd rather not go into gambling instead if our mind is focusing on winning but not accepting losses.

If we are a fan of gambling, then make sure that we enjoy what we are doing instead of getting angry.

Right, that's why it's really hard to separate our emotions when we gamble. We hear advises from people saying that we should enjoy and have some fun. But there are times that maybe you will feel depressed because you didn't  get what you want for when gambling.

So for me, when I bet I just try to be positive and hope that my bet will be on my side.

If not, they I say to myself to stay easy and relax and it might not be for your that day and just go live another day and play.
507  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Achieving a goal on: January 04, 2024, 10:18:10 PM
That’s possible if you stick to bitcoin and put a significant amount of capital. Bitcoin’s price will continue to surge high as long as it can, as long as there are no negative factors that would hit and affect the market well. However, if you focus on altcoins, having that certain amount of goal will probably won’t be realized. But if there’s altcoin season in the future, that will sure to happen. But bitcoin bull run comes first before altcoin season, so focus first on bitcoin before you decide to diversify your investments.
Bitcoin is the main target, we buy bitcoin during the bear season and wait for the bull to come. Since we don't know who to follow and how the market moves from one direction to another, the little knowledge gathered should be put into crucial work, never ending ground. We sets our goals for the new season, specifically striving harder in altcoin season, because that's more like the crude oil of crypto during the bull season. Playing safe not to invest in altcoins that that comes my way, I'm just trying my best to play safe and become gallant in the market. The market is volatile, we're used to the up and down movement of the system.

Yes, but maybe he is kinda late as the best time to buy bitcoin is last year when the price hits $11,500.

But in any case, yeah he can still invest that money in bitcoin but the returns might not be that big as he expected. But it's really hard to advise altcoins, as what is the best because it's more volatile and unpredictable as compare to bitcoin market.

So the best advise to the OP is just research and see what coins he really wanted to invest.
508  Economy / Speculation / Re: will the btc price reach 100k ? on: January 04, 2024, 09:47:30 PM
Well Hello everyone ~

It's quite a topic to predict or post on the benefit of doubt.

Predicting the exact future price of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin is incredibly challenging due to their volatility and the multitude of factors influencing their value. Making short-term predictions in the current market can indeed be quite uncertain.

However, Bitcoin has shown significant growth over the years, and some analysts and enthusiasts believe it could potentially reach $100,000 or even higher in the future. Market trends, adoption by institutions, regulatory changes, technological advancements, and overall market sentiment can all play a role in its price movement.

While it might seem implausible in the near term considering current market conditions, forecasting over a longer period, like 10 years, opens up possibilities for significant changes in the cryptocurrency landscape.

What do you guys think?

Unfortunately, we don't have the crystal ball to see what will be the price, and I will say you that no one can exactly predict if we are going to hit $100k in the future or not.

All we can do is make a wild and educated guess, meaning we might used technical analysis and look at the previous historical logs and plot and make a graph or trajectory as where the price will move in the next year or so.

But it is not a exact math or science as well, as there could be some unforeseen circumstances that might deviate someone's prediction.
509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 04, 2024, 09:22:39 PM
Only 2 games on today but they’re both televised on TNT (and HBO Max I’ve recently learned). Last time the Spurs faced the Bucks Wemby was out so this should be an interesting matchup to watch as Wemby tries to stop Giannis. The Second game between the Warriors and the Nuggets should be a good matchup also, but I’m expecting Denver to win.

I like to go with the underdog Warriors over the Nuggets at Chase center. Warriors have been good in their homecourt and maybe Klay with a good match against the defender here, might go and fire some and get back his shooting. Of course, Curry will have to score 30+ or more for them to have a good chance, and then Kuminga and the rest of them.

I do agree, different era's different GOAT, but it's good to hear arguments for and against Jordan, Kobe and Lebron and who might be the best of them.

Each one has it's merit though, so for me, whoever you grow up watching and idolizing then that player could be your GOAT.
510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 04, 2024, 09:07:56 PM
Happy New Year everyone!!

Just missed some bets this start of the year but it's all good.

Gonna be a good game between the Bucks and the Pacers again, seems this two have build up their rivalry already, so I will go with the underdog in Pacers at home currently @2.34 ML. And then OKC @1.81 against the Hawks ML as well. Just want to bet early so that in any case I stuck up later, my bets is already in although I could fall on the last minute changes as far those who are going to play or not.

Great decision picking the Pacers on their home court. On the last 3 games they played, it was on the home court of Bucks, and Indiana won of them, so playing at home infront of a huge crowd, this should inspire them more. I am gonna tail with you on this pick mate. About the OKC, I think I'll pass, I just bet bigger on Indiana, and this is just probably my bet for tomorrow.

Good call on the Pacers bet, congrats to us, however, OKC try to rally, but they lack the time to make a great comeback against the Hawks.

We only have 2 games tonight?

Bucks vs Spurs, Bucks trying to get into the win column so I will go with them at -6.5
Warriors vs Nuggets - homecourt advantage for the Warriors, it might be a long shot, but I will go with them at ML
511  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is just happened on the Bitcoin Market? on: January 03, 2024, 09:26:30 PM
This is an obvious attempt at market manipulation for their benefit. Here is what the Matrixport scam posted yesterday:

* Bitcoin Spot ETF approval imminent, BTC to jump to $50,000

Well, at least now if bitcoin ETF gets approved they'll be able to say "we've told you so" and if it doesn't they'll do the same. Tongue

Most likely they have multiple authors and don't verify what these authors write. First they published a report by 1 researcher who was positive and then another by someone who was negative. They should really pay attention to what is posted on their site because it makes the company look unprofessional when they can't even work out a general attitude towards a subject.

And I  think that's what happen right now, I mean with this kind of news, the market pushed the price to more than $45k. But after that, when the news was verified by bitcoin enthusiast, maybe they think this is just another manipulation early this year, the price sink to where we started or end 2023, at $42k.

So I think there is some entities who take advantage of this kind of news again. As for the article, this has been the nature of crypto journalism, news is not confirmed or verified by the author. And so we should know how to read between the lines so that we won't fall for fake news or not so true articles.
512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 10 Gainers Among Token on: January 03, 2024, 01:36:01 PM
Lisk was like the oldest here. But ever since it has been launched, the value of it is still the same and even lower from the time it was launched. The ATH of it definitely is high but I doubt it that with pumps like this will make it have a return. I just think that because a coin has pumped, people should invest on it already. Don't get yourselves into FOMO because that will give you a certain loss.

And it's weird that they are one of the top gainers unless they have been pump hard because of some news.

But just like what the rest of experience traders who doesn't take risk or at least not into the pump and dump scheme, it's no surprises that we will see unknown projects being pump and it could be just part of some groups who hype this coin, create a so called demand and then sell when it is the highest.

No complain though for investors who are into this kind of action, but for me, I will stay away from this kind of scheme, just saying.

514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How possible is it to win lottery 14 times using mathematics calculations on: January 03, 2024, 10:29:20 AM

Navigating through articles online got me attracted to a catchy caption yet disturbing (the link posted below).
I am  a stern believer that gambling. Which I believe that lottery is, is purely a game of luck rather than skills or expertise.
How this managed to happen repeatedly for 14 times means it's not just luck, something else must have happened.

https://www.unilad.com/news/mathematician-won-lottery-14-times-317063-20231230

Leave your opinion if you think it's 100% luck to be  winner or there is a particular skill needed.

Lol, but if you read the link you posted,

Quote
Mandel would later declare bankruptcy in 1995, before spending the next decade running various investment schemes.

So even if he as won 14x in a supposedly lottery, then why the guy declared backruptcy?

Most likely there's more into the story and I don't think that he beat the system. He also bet with some investors money but obviously the return is not good. And I can't find that he won first place 14 times, he could have won 2nd, 3rd prizes and and it could add to the money that the group won.
515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 03, 2024, 10:08:15 AM
I also believe that the Los Angeles Lakers will make it to the play-offs. The nice thing about basketball is that even if you haven't done anything during the season and get into the play-offs, you still have a chance to win the championship.
When LJ and Anthony get tired, D Angelo Russel may be the player who will take the scoring load. He is both young and has a lot of energy to prove himself to be a star.
I always follow the Lakers because of the king of the NBA. Almost like LeBron, I follow his team. LJ is undoubtedly the biggest legend after Jordan
I also agree with you!
Well, I believe the Lakers (I also include the GSW in this list) are teams that have a reasonable regular season, but that can surprise everyone in the playoffs.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis are great reference players for the LAL... D'Angelo Russell is a good player, but I don't know if he's capable of replacing AD or LJ in several games... I won't deny it, sometimes He manages to perform a good performance in some games, but I believe he still needs to improve a little bit, be more consistent to be able to improve his level as a player.
He has potential for this and i have no doubt, I believe he can improve his level in the future.

One of the most fascinating in the NBA is watching the Lakers and the Warriors contending with a lot more youthful teams to get into the playoffs. Anyhow, given that we do not yet know when Draymond Green will return, the Lakers have a better chance of making the playoffs than the Warriors.

Speaking of Draymond, there are reports that his future with the Warriors is bleak. Rumors has it that with his suspension, he might not get back with the team and be traded. Of course this is just a rumor for now and there are a lot of things going on behind the Warriors, like also the news of Andrew Wiggins potential trade.

So we will see, although the Warriors has won in their last game, but we have seen that they have struggled.

Klay Thompson is on a shooting slump and the teams are barely winning against a good team.
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have we overlooked the many potentials of altcoins? on: January 02, 2024, 08:50:21 PM
A lot of times we have been down so much away from the role altcoins play in the cryptocurrency industry,  because there is no doubt the fact that many times,  we have come face to face with issues and challenges that make us to look for an alternatives,  and which is the reason for altcoins creations already,  such as fees,  congestion and speeds.

These have been most of the challenges that we face in the cryptocurrency industry with majority of the time our preferred coin may face network issues and we need to look for alternatives,  this has made it very important for us to discuss the best possible means to make use of altcoins as alternatives when there be network crisis.

What are the best coins to use at a time when there is network congestion in the main meme pool?

I think go back to the basics, or at least proven altcoins already,

a. ADA
b. SOL
c. DOT

And I do agree about the challenges that some of our favorite coins are going right now, congestion or network issues. I do think though that this has been anticipated, but with the growth of crypto investors, they really can't cope with it, thus fees are skyrocketing right now.
517  Economy / Speculation / Re: Historical price of Bitcoin New Year Day (1st January). on: January 02, 2024, 12:35:18 PM
You mean January 1, 2025? Not sure if 6 digits could be reach this month. But if we target January 1, 2025 then it's possible.

There's a lot of positive news already, and it's just like 100%++ on the current price. Our lowest low in this bear trend is $15,500 and we more than double that in November last year.

So if we are in a bull run and the current price is $45k at January 1, then if we do math, it's possible that $100k could be reach next year as we are going to be in a massive bull run 2024-2025.
518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 02, 2024, 10:48:35 AM
It's amazing how Los Angeles, which won its first in-season tournament as champions, ended up in such a bad situation.
Yes, LeBron is the star of the team, but despite his age, he plays more than 35 minutes in these matches. If there is no other player next to LeBron who can support him and contribute to his scoring, the championship is considered a dream. Anthony Davis looks far from his old form. Injuries set him back a lot. If he regains his old form, LeBron and Anthony will be enough for Los Angeles.

If you look at Davis' stats, you'll notice that he averages both scoring and rebounding this regular season as well as he did for the Pelicans earlier in his career. So, I don't think he's the reason why the Lakers have been so mediocre. The reason is clearly something else, and the Lakers need to figure it out as soon as possible since they have only won 3 games after winning the in-season tournament.

Obviously it's not Davis, but something deep that it's hard to understand because after winning the IST, they suddenly become a garbage team. Of course there is rumor of trade of some players, but still though, they should have the momentum after winning.

But they turn into a champion into a mediocre team in an instant. For me it should be Darvin Ham's responsibility, he is the coach after all and it seems that he is not doing his job currently. Make adjustments, but he can't find the right combination.
519  Economy / Economics / Re: 2024 & Prediction of World War III - Effect on Cryptocurrencies on: January 02, 2024, 09:32:13 AM
We already have war already, it might not be the very definition of World War, but as you can see, countries are already separated like the last war. So we can say that we are already in the silence kind of war, US, China, Middle East, Russia and others countries already at it.

But we haven't seen the effect on cryptocurrencies, in fact it become a hedge.

However, if you define like a full blown war then surely it might be difficult to transact if infrastructure is down as we depend on the Internet.
520  Economy / Speculation / Re: High transaction fees affects buyers and seller in payment in bitcoin on: January 02, 2024, 07:45:14 AM
First, Bitcoin is an alternative payment, in fact there are many other alternative payments, such as using stablecoins or other altcoins. However, this depends on the type of business and the agreement between the owner and worker, user or buyer and seller. If both parties agree to continue using Bitcoin then they certainly don't have any problems regarding the problem of Bitcoin network congestion and Bitcoin transaction fees.

No, other altocoins or stablecoins are not build to be a payment scheme, it was only Bitcoin. However, when Bitcoin become a assets that is traded in an exchange, then I will say that it lost what it was originally design by Satoshi, because it become a store of value and hedge for those wealthy people.

And then there was a boom on other coins knows as alternative or altcoins market, but they have different design though and no one is like a payment system. But they can still function as one today if we look at them and with the high fees right now, we are looking for more alternatives to transact and it includes LTC.
