502  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Being Russia and Russian now on: April 12, 2023, 09:32:50 PM
A lot of Russians and Ukrainians live in Türkiye now. In some areas they outnumber Turkish people. Especially the rich Russians came here and live a comfortable life. When I talk to my friends in Russia, they say that life there isn't too bad either. The public wasn't affected much by the sanctions. Politically there isn't much difference either. Just as Russia has been governed for years, so is Türkiye, by the same one man. Only those who come here from a democratic country can understand the negative effects of this. For the Russians this isn't a problem.

504  Economy / Economics / Re: using credit card on: April 12, 2023, 08:14:53 PM
Using credit cards is definitely dangerous thing. It gives you unnecessary amount of money as debt so you can use it. But its money that you do not own. So you may use excessive amount and create financial burden on your shoulders. But if we consider campaigns with credit cards, some of them are very very beneficial. You may opt into bonus programs that will return you a lot of money that you already spend. You may also use low credit opportunities through some credit card programs. All things considered, using credit cards can be good and must be done in limited times. I think even if its like %3-4 return, its still awesome.

Since there are millions of people in our country who don't know how to use credit cards, it has a bad image. But credit card is a great thing if you know how to use it. You don't spend money that's not yours, you postpone your spending while the money that is already in your bank account continues to generate interest. Especially if you can make high installments, it's very profitable. Because the value of money decreases by 5% on average every month. In such an environment, there is nothing more logical than borrowing with Turkish Lira.
The rapid increase in credit card limits in recent years is a positive step. Make as many installments as you can. You have to protect yourself against high inflation.

This is also my tenth year here. Time goes fast. Back then, we thought we were too late to buy Bitcoin. I hope we can see many more decades with Bitcoin and this forum.

What did we watch? That was a crazy game. There was great excitement in the last part of the match, but it wasn't possible to talk about quality basketball. Wolves couldn't score for 5 minutes in the last quarter, they had serious problems on offense. Towns couldn't do anything in both offense and defense after receiving 5 fouls. Edwards played maybe his worst game ever. Conley kept them in the game, but that wasn't enough. Both teams had a record number of turnovers. They made mistake after mistake in important times. Wolves would've won this game comfortably if Edwards had played just a little bit better. We can say that Schröder was the player of the match. LeBron looks incredibly tired.
Somehow they got themselves into the play-off but Lakers have a tough job with this game against Memphis.
508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 12, 2023, 02:19:22 AM
Hawks got the first ticket from play-in tournament and secured the 7th spot. They will play with Celtics. Heat have another chance two days later. Their opponent will be Raptors or Bulls.
Lowry played like Curry. Butler and Herro scored a lot but other players didn't join them and the big difference was offensive rebounds. Heat gave away too many second chance points to Hawks. Hawks got 16 more offensive rebounds, mostly from Capela. You can't play like that in play-in. Well deserved win for Hawks.
509  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: April 11, 2023, 09:59:52 PM
It would be possible, but why exactly would you want that? I am asking because from what I noticed, you are not the only board with similar topic, where people share their good posts to local merit sources. Imho, even those posts should count towards your total number, there's nothing weong with that.

I'm curious about the difference between the statistics with and without that thread. Because some users only send merits there and never distribute them in the rest of the forum. In addition, there are a lot of people who share their random messages and get merits. I'm not against these kind of threads, ideally you post your quality posts and get merits for those posts. But in reality people send merits to those lists without even checking the content. Even foreigners who saw that this was an easy way to earn merit started to write on the thread and get rewarded.
510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 11, 2023, 09:49:16 PM
I thought that Gobert is not going to be suspended, but I guess the management has to send the message that no one is above the team. And even if  they are going to lose this game against the Lakers, they make the right decision of not allowing him to play because of that incident. I'm thinking though it might fire up the team against the Lakers. However, Lebron and AD will not get this one slip away from them. They wanted to go to the playoff so this is going to be fun to watch and it should be close.

He's suspended by the team, that was the right thing. It's unacceptable to make a fuss while the team was entering the play-offs. Arguments within the team are normal, but physical interference is unacceptable. I wonder the consequences of this, if Wolves lose today that would play a big part. Besides he was a vital player in Center rotation, it also possibly affected the team morale. AD will surely use this advantage.
511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: April 11, 2023, 09:31:19 PM
I don't think the result was unexpected but maybe the score was. Manchester City humiliated Bayern. Rodri scored a beautiful goal outside the box. Bayern defense made unbelievable mistakes and City took the advantage of it. Haaland scored again, as he did in almost every game. This City is the biggest favorite of the tournament. Maybe this is the year they've been waiting for.
512  Local / Türkçe (Turkish) / Re: Raporlama Nasıl Yapılmalı on: April 11, 2023, 07:22:40 PM

513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 11, 2023, 01:28:05 PM
Just imagine if the Warriors are the ones that the Suns are facing. Cheesy

I think they have a huge chance that they will retain that 7th spot, and will face the Grizzlies in the first round. After what happened to the Wolves in their last game, and add also the injuries from McDaniels who is their elite defender, and Naz Reid who can stretch the defense of other teams, I don't know if the Wolves can defeat them, but who knows. We might see an upset coming from Towns and Edwards. Cheesy

I think it would definitely be funny if the Warriors came instead of the Clippers, but the Suns would still have the advantage. The Warriors had a very volatile period in the regular season, it was unclear how it would turn out before most matches. Play-off basketball is very different though.

Play-in matches will begin tonight. The teams are very close to each other, I don't see any favorites.
Whole Gobert thing is really ridiculous. Gobert has been suspended for one game, he won't play against Lakers. Heat and Lakers should use their home court advantage. Otherwise the next match will be much more difficult and even if they make it to the play-offs, they will have to play the first round very tired.
514  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: April 11, 2023, 12:54:19 PM
Merit senders and receivers per local board during March 2023

Several local boards stick out on this chart (Nigerian, Pilipinas) meaning they have a lrage amount of merit senders/receivers compared to the total amount of merits shared that might suggest they could use more merit sources. Since no one expressed their opinion on how this chart should be sorted I will keep it as it is, meaning it will be sorted by the amount of merits shared.

Turkish is missing here. It should be normally in second or third place in this chart.

Is it possible to remove one thread from statistics? I wonder how stats would change without a merit cafe thread.

Ben buradaki rehberde çok eski mesajların raporlanmaması gerektiğini yazmıştım. Artık 6 aydan eski mesajları raporlamaya çalıştığınız zaman ufak bir uyarı notu çıkıyor.

516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 09, 2023, 10:59:55 PM
Suns picked Clippers instead of Warriors. They could've won the game if they wanted to, but lost to Clippers and became play-off first round opponents. This is pretty logical as they avoid the last champion. Paul George's return is still unknown.
Lakers won but it wasn't enough for 6th place. They need to pass play-in rounds now. Pelicans is also in form but Lakers wouldn't make mistakes here.

I think that Real Madrid vs. Chelsea deserves no less attention as most people here think that Real Madrid will win that one easy, but I don't think so.

After today's loss I don't think Real Madrid is heavy favorite against Chelsea, they are one step ahead but nothing more. Ancelotti thought about doing some rotation and that cost them a loss at home. Their minds are in Chelsea game I get it but this defense is alarming. If they give away too many positions to opponents they eventually concede some goals.
Chelsea changed their manager one more time and this is Lampard's chance to prove himself. Their target game wasn't today's Wolves game, it's Real game. I don't care about this loss, they weren't in a position like Real had. A good result in Santiago Bernabeu may raise their hopes so I think they'll give a lot of importance to the first match especially.

While the Sixers have to go to OT to win against the Hawks without Joel Embiid and James Harden.

Not only those two, Sixers rest all their starting five plus Melton but still won against Hawks. Pathetic lost for Atlanta. That shows how deep Sixers roster is as I previously said here several times. You don't have Embiid and Harden, that's okay. You don't have Tucker, Harris, Maxey, Melton, that's okay. You can still win with Niang, McDaniels, House, Milton, Harrell, Springer and Reed. Even McClung played and contributed to the score. They shot %50.
Heat looked better against Sixers. Hawks will have hard times against Heat in play-in game. It looks like the season will end early for Trae Young.

If we're talking about injuries, Portland Trail Blazers is the unluckiest team. If they didn't have so many injuries, they would've made the play-offs easily. When we think about ideal rosters, they were the 7th or 8th best team in the West. If we make a squad with injured players only, they would be in play-in zone. More than half the team is injured, the Portland curse is at work again.
520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 07, 2023, 04:21:09 AM
4 losses in a row and Jazz is officially out of the play-in picture now. Mavericks have 2 games left, against Bulls and Spurs. Bulls guaranteed their 10th place so it's very possible for Mavs to win both games. Thunder have only one game left and they'll play with Grizzlies. Normally it'd be a though game but we probably see big rotation before play-off so Thunder may win this one. Last place for play-in will be determined in last games literally. I'm okay with both teams, either Thunder or Mavs for play-in but I don't think they'll get a spot in play-off.
