501  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: March 15, 2019, 10:49:06 PM
The expiry for current talks with China will end this month I believe. So it will either have resolution, current 10% tariff rates don't increase to 25%, or 25% added tariff on all Chinese imports.

Regardless this batch is priced well. The only issue buyers might face would be MicroBT wanting pull move like they did with the D1 late last year. I wouldn't gamble on COGs and prep for the worst. We're hoping for a good bulk pricing then if tariffs drop that only enhances our buyers positions and savings. Still the skeptic in me doesn't think much will come out of current political powers.
502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1660 TI hashrates ?? on: March 15, 2019, 06:12:07 PM
Pricing wise 1660ti is cheaper than I bought 1070 ti's. Looking at a moderate rack of 4-6 cards with ROI at 3-4 months per card in this market so close to 400 days using off hand, brainless math at 0.10USD kw/h.

Need to get the house on solar.
503  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: March 15, 2019, 05:53:30 PM
Yea, then hoping for efficiency modes then the 58T is probably the stronger buy, though both look good.
504  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: March 15, 2019, 05:30:21 PM
Exciting but interesting. I think I'm in fanactic's camp with the model numbering and spec seems like a m10s. Odd to have a 10th difference for 50USD. Maybe they don't want to pay my consulting fee for marketing, then they can get here free along with some import/export advice. Then I still hope the 48th unit has a efficiency mode nice though to have some product coming and put pressure on for competition. I'll probably always favor the bold.

Edit: looking at pricing it'll still be far under Innosilicon T3 with duties/tariffs.
505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1660 TI hashrates ?? on: March 15, 2019, 03:09:46 AM
No experience with them yet but word is they're on part with 1070 hash rates. Sadly with MAP even the distributor we use can sell at lower cost but you can buy more than a couple if available from us. Though 6gb is something to consider for future use imo.
506  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My review of Avalon 841 . on: March 14, 2019, 06:55:01 PM
Take pictures or screenshots of the issue and contact Canaan directly with your BF invoice. Canaan was really responsive for me personally.
507  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolin Whatsminer M10 - 33TH at 2145W on: March 14, 2019, 06:17:43 PM
Out of stock now. Hope everyone who wanted last batch ordered.
508  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon Terminator 3 on: March 13, 2019, 04:31:43 PM
There's no debate the spec numbers are good, would love a draw read too. It's sad they budge on pricing unless you're buying bulk.
509  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolin Whatsminer M10 - 33TH at 2145W on: March 13, 2019, 04:23:03 PM
It must be something to do with my previous DHL orders, as I received a text Monday afternoon when my package was received, nothing updated from Pango. My guess is whoever enters the tracking info in is either swamped or just forgets.

I should have mine Thursday, I'll be at work so I'll have the wife on high alert. Bonus it isn't -30C so the Miner should be fine.

Just have to let warm up, if you like have them open the box and let ambient in from inside the house since the Styrofoam will insulate it from warmth.

Now for my second miner, it says ship out before April 20th. Bummer but I’m still looking forward to receiving it. Hopefully sooner than later.

April is pretty far off and this newest batch is 31T version.

Though there is some insider information, Bitmain selling only 1k units is just false.
511  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 921 released - 20 TH/s @ 1800W on: March 11, 2019, 04:48:09 PM
Yea nothing I have is profitable anymore. About $0.60 loss a day. Will soak what I can and looks at upgrades soon.
512  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: March 11, 2019, 04:33:52 PM
I work in a business where I record audio.  I was thinking that I would just turn off the miner when I needed to record, however that won't be the case.  Even with the settings that philipma1957 posted, that fan is so loud that I can't work in the same room while it's on.  It's a one room office hahah.  So, I'll just be mining when I'm not there.  That will certainly impact my ranking.

I'm currently ranked 480.  I know there is ramp-up time and that the 841 has a decent hash rate.  However, I only have one unit, and that one unit will be only running an average of about 14 hrs/day. It'll probably be years for me too before I see anything.  I guess that's just the nature of the beast.  I'll watch the ranking and see if this will be worth my while.  I'm probably going to be moving from this office in 4-5 years.  Oy.

I wouldn't worry about the ranking. Your single 841 working 24/7 wouldn't make it anyway, so you will have to make a line with the rest of small miners and be paid according to your time in the waiting line. In this pool you will not get paid on every block, but you WILL get paid, just don't expect it soon, unless the hashrate climbs significantly.

Asic miners are loud industrial beasts, 77db is considered "normal". The only "Silent miner" that ever was, was the R4 (i own one). Maybe the S7 LN previous to that, but the R4 was specifically designed to be silent, and it truly is (50db at 100%). Sadly nobody made something like it again. I'm sure a MicroBT with two boards, or sn S17, with a similar design would do wonders, oh well home use is not their target, 99% of the mining is done in warehouses where noise is not a problem.

My only hope is someone designs a mod case to recreate the R4 design with current hardware, if that fan is available somewhere, but knowing the Chinese it should be...

You can foam out a grow tent will help. As loud as they are the LP firmware from bitmain and canaan has dropped fan speed quite a bit then it is winter here.
513  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolin Whatsminer M10 - 33TH at 2145W on: March 11, 2019, 04:29:55 PM
Yea we always run the coupon unless we get a bulk order. Looks like the pricing hit yesterday/last night.

Maybe we'll see a more efficient m10s.
514  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) WhatsMiner M10 33.0 Th/s, 2145W Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner on: March 11, 2019, 04:23:53 PM
Shouldn't be too much in cost from 14 to 12 gauge anyway unless someone is soaking you for it.

Well that was the quickest decision I've ever made pretty sure this is a recent price drop by Pangolin. Just ordered my 3rd M10 31TH. This was a no brainer as described below, considering teh risk for me is to high on the 15 series from Bitmain. This bad boy won't be making it into the house though, straight to the garage, I'll have to take my 841 offline.

Right now on Pangolin they are listed for 785 USD, I was able to use the 51$ coupon as well so that brought it down to 734 USD, plus shipping.

I saw this today, guess this is what I get for taking a day off but them I'm not sure when our pricing was updated.
515  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolin Whatsminer M10 - 33TH at 2145W on: March 11, 2019, 04:16:20 PM
Looks like a price drop from Pangolin to $785. No debate on de minimis.
516  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New buildout with buysolar has entered stage 2. on: March 10, 2019, 09:00:45 AM
Solid troubleshooting. Send me a shopping list for the other builds if you want some pricing for networking, cables, shelving, etc.

Looks like we were close on projection till pango upped their pricing probably due to our exposure in telegram trying to get the warranty and parts order shipped together, correlates the visits we got from china on our time frame and their listing changes.

Best result is philip is hashing and shipping was saved with parts in reserve.
517  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 921 released - 20 TH/s @ 1800W on: March 09, 2019, 07:00:33 PM
Still great products if your power cost is low and with the prices they have right now canaan is the best deal $/Ths wise. So if you're looking for a cheap build out with a great deal on power cost very viable. Though yes, I think we all had some great hopes on competitive unit last year from canaan.
518  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Ebang EBIT E11++ 44TH 45W/TH on: March 09, 2019, 06:53:43 PM
Still never heard anything from them. Even saw an article on the their new asic coming but like you said no updates, no communication, not getting listed by us.
519  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New buildout with buysolar has entered stage 2. on: March 08, 2019, 05:59:19 PM
I think the "s17" might show Q2 if Bitmain really wants to make money. Hopefully they learned from their s11 release mistake.
520  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New buildout with buysolar has entered stage 2. on: March 08, 2019, 04:12:17 PM
Philip has a good strategy there with financing but I would not use this method unless you know you can pay it off in time or your ROI will increase quite a bit as I recall PayPal APR is pretty substantial. Our client service is interesting if people want to build up to new gear, not sure how that would look with financing behind the script styled service with bigger purchases. Doesn't paypal offer 12 mo as well?

What's the pricing on the s9's, not everything we can get is listed since you could order a TV from us and what not. Bitmain was still shipping us s9j's long after they dropped them form the English site. Just takes longer to confirm orders since it's all done through email.
