Sounds more serious and this is a serious project right? Huh

Just because it's a serious project doesn't mean you need to have stick up your ass Smiley

Huh I ask serious question, why do you feel the need to urge to reply with a homophobic comment? It's okay if you are gay btw, just don't use such disrespectful language when you talkin to me, capiche?  Wink

lol - That comment has nothing todo with homosexuality.

"stick up your ass", it sprang up from your subconciousness so psycho-analysis tells me it has some deeper meaning/application in your life, you are perhaps not aware of your true inner feelings regarding other men  Cheesy

Or maybe it's a phrase people have been using forever and you just don't know it ? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=stick+up+your+ass

When NEM was first launched the versions of NEM upon release just went by the version number, like for instance 0.6.21 was just that 0.6.21, but now that a hard fork has been announced, it would be better if each major version also had a name.  Like Apple does with their OS, they name a number and a name, like 10.9 Mavericks, or 10.11 El Capitan and so on.

So what would be a good name for the version of NEM that lasted from 0.6.21 to 0.6.31, the original version of NEM?

And what would be a good name for 0.6.42 and on until the next hard fork?

One suggestion is
1. 0.6.21+ Washington
2. 0.6.42+ Adams
3. 0.6.xx Jefferson

but we won't be using names of any political leaders from any one country.

Another suggestions would be

1. 0.6.21+ red
2. 0.6.42+ orange
3. 0.6.xx yellow

Another could be whatever was the flavor of the month at Baskin Robbins

1. 0.6.21+ Snacknado
2. 0.6.42+ Oreo 'n Cake
3. 0.6.xx tba

Do you like colors or flavors?  Can you suggest something that is interesting?

I'd suggest to only change name at minor version changes instead of revisions. I.e. change the name at the jump from 0.6.xx to 0.7.xx. Imho makes more sense and also reduces the need for new cool names.

Personally I like what Canonical is doing with Ubuntu i.e. going through the alphabet and using the letters for an attribute and an animal. E.g. Utopic Unicorn and Trusty Tahr.
Google is doing a similar thing for Android only they use the letters for sweet stuff. E.g. Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop,...
Maybe we can do something along those lines ?

How about we go through the alphabet and use the letters to name made up super heros ? Like Anal Ant and Battling Baptist (obviously  dumb examples but you get the gist Smiley).

Recent News Roundup #

.........Great news about sock puppets and late redemptions. They are all processed and the last batch is waiting to be sent out in a few days.......

No way!!

You still haven't sent out all the stakes yet!! You all said that over and over and over again. You still have them. Why won't you send these poor people their stakes. They still haven't gotten their stakes? Why are you keeping them for months and months?

I'll be back herein a few days to make sure the community finally holds these devs accountable!!!
This kind of shadiness makes NEM look shifty as all hell!!! What is wrong with you guys.

Give these poor people their stakes. Why would you devs hurt your own coin like this. How stupid can you be?

I will just add that I was flagged as a sock for some reason, and I have not received my stake. I am still hopeful that someone will take a look at my case.

This account afaik couldn't have been flagged as sock since you have to many posts on btt. Are you talking about another account ?

You know damn well there are no 70 active members and never have been.
Counting the people registered on Telegram as "active members" is like saying the people who post in this thread are active members.
70 people in the telegram group? Man that is long ago. I cant even remember the time we hade below 100. Well, it has nothing to do with the "70 active" wording anyway. Just wanted to clear that up. Makoto cleared it up already.

I don't care you call the Telegramm group 'Team member' or not. But if everyone on telegram got 20mil i call it a scam! So Please tell me how much xem they got.

noone got anything merely for being on telegram.

First of all , make sure you have your private key backed up.
You can do this by clicking the gear symbol next to your address in the upper left corner.

KEEP THIS PRIVATE !  Everyone who has your private key can access your account!

Then you can also back up your wallet files manually (as far as I know it's not safe to use the built-in feature).

Ref this link: http://blog.nem.io/how-to-find-export-or-delete-your-wallet-and-address-book-file/

Hope this helps!

Just make sure you have your private key , then nothing can happen :-)

from last releases changelog:

Quote
Export should be working fine now, keep in mind, that ncc does not use brainwallet, and there aren't deterministic wallets as of now, so whenever you add new account to the wallet, you should make a export a backup.

So the integrated backup function should be working fine now.

FYI: Makoto is busy with him quitting his job and getting started on the new project. He did say he'll try to check all of his PMs within the next weeks.

Especially talking to Chris001 and Fatih87SK here Smiley. Hope you understand.

It's really none of my business but i thought I'd relay that message from Slack to maybe kick some of the confusion and irritation.

I hope this explanation helps. I might have missed some things, even I can't imagine yet. Smiley

Thanks a lot for your detailed explanantion !

Let me know if you think it's possible to make truly decentralized applications. Smiley

I don't think it is. Someone would have come up with it by now Smiley
Distributing it as much possible is as good as it gets right now and i think Crypti is doing that quite well.

Can someone explain to me what it is about cryptis dapps that is actually decentralized ? From what I gathered one person owns the app and it relies on that same person to run masternodes. Am i missing something ? Did i missunderstand that part ?

This is an honest question. I don't mean to hate. Just asking a question.
512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ok. Are you telling me this is true about NEM also? on: July 06, 2015, 08:30:29 AM

I'm trying to find out what makes NEM unique other than proof of importance?

I'm saying what does it have now.
I know NEM is in beta. What will it have in it's V1?

Right now so far the NEM devs have been the first ever to make time syncing among nodes of a P2P network, first to institute Eignentrust to make sure nodes don't cheat, first to make POI, the first to do multisig notifications on blockchain, the first to do delegated harvesting, and a few other features.

These were all things that other platforms hadn't done for their base platform of 1.0 features to make sending and receiving a "coin" safe.

The current update you want is that the devs are finishing out the 1.0 features with things like having N of M multisig already working on the testnet.

Other crypto's had a reputation of making 1.0 tech long before NEM, but NEM is the first time in my opinion it has been done right.

The focus now is to turn to 2.0 tech.  A lot of other platforms have already done 2.0, but nobody has done it right and well.  I'm looking forward to seeing just how the devs take something kind of done elsewhere first and do it well.

The projects that they have announced publicly and that will be included in V1 are Smart Property Tiles,  Smart Contracts, Decentralized Exchange, Integration of multisig into to further NEM features, and quick node syncing tech.

I'll go ahead and state here that I fully expect and know work is being done on projects above and beyond this, and will be presented later.

I know BTT really wants updates and full outlines, but much of the work will be tight lipped while in development, but not completely tight lipped.  The list I just wrote is pretty extensive list of things to do.

After a while, people will notice that NEM devs have a fully solid history of delivery very solid tech and will take notice.  NEM is a long game and the first steps have been taken.

Do you people agree with this??

Don't hold back

I think I'm liking NEM again lol

I think it was already pointed out that timesync was already done by another project. I'm not sure about the rest as noone can possibly follow all projects. POI is definitely brand new and I'd say multi-sig notifications as well. For me delegated harvesting is also a first, allthough some may argue that it's very similar to NXTs leased forging.
So yes, for the most part I agree. Some of it are predictions for the future so for those things we'll have to wait and see.

Yeh, I agree with you. I am convinced that the next release will bring thinks up which pushes the price. Currently, most are still disappointed about the bad communication and the lack of fixed release times.

It will be towards 100 soon.

It's an established crypto, innovative, with a rock solid dev team that makes meaningful progress consistently if you follow the development.

It's down a little, and the perfect time to buy. The mobile app is in testing now. Plus much more going on.

Much more than a forum switch lmao.

The problem is that they are very good developers, but unfortunately the worst in crypto marketing without ideas and concept!

Aren't you getting bored of saying that ? What on earth is anyone supposed to market right now ? I'm confident there will be apropriate marketing when there is something to tell people.
It's not all on the devs and the rest either. You have an idea ? Speak out and request funding instead of sitting in this thread naging.

You got any examples os successfull marketing campaings ? I mean where anything longer term came out of it ? I'd like to see them.

You guys here really did become the thing you supposedly hated. A clicky group of lossers desperately trying to pump a coin.

Isn't all the cryptocoin world (including bitcoin) just like that?

The only difference I see: our developers are not trying to pump XEM with wapourware. They can hardly be  seen here.
We hope this is because they are developing beautiful features like they already did.
Only time will tell...

the Problem is the whole nem community is snobbing the bitcointalk Forum.. Makoto is traveling Japan to present NEM, but the first crypto Forum gets snobbed.... this People are good developers, but have no idea of Marketing.. Initially the interest in NEM was huge, but now when people think of nem, they think of a third row coin! this image will be difficult to change again!

totally. Anyone who thinks btt is a lost cause has absolutely no idea of marketing. trolls and scumbags should clearly be our #1 target group.
Jokes aside...Important announcemnts are being made on btt as they should be. Regular planning and discussions make no sense here and that's why they have moved elsewhere. Anyone genuinely interested in NEM can come to slack, telegram or the forum or just follow @nemofficial on twitter for all the latest stuff.
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in NEM? on: June 29, 2015, 07:37:26 AM

The part about TaunSew makes your post totally shit.. Why would he try to bash NEM as TaunSew if he still has a lot of socks? Not wise to lower your price..

Anyway, NEM is nice, won't go much lower because all who wanted to dump have dumped by now..

TS's current sig is a NEM ad....and he's been more onboard with NEM than critical of it.
I sometimes have no freaking idea who's side he's on, so I usually blame either NEM or BTS for his antics. Grin
(I do get the feeling that he's not very bullish on the future prospects for NXT, though)

Don't try to understand Taunsew. I don't think there is any real pattern behind his bullshit.

Regarding the OP. Do your own research. Don't listen to anyone on bitcointalk.

Hi,

Its been like one month that i didnt use and syncronize the wallet, so ive updated to the last wallet 0.6.31 beta, all it going good after synchronize NIS but when I try to Start local or delegated harvesting I have this error ERROR 699
Maximum number of harvesters allowed on server has been reached.

Anyone can help?

Thanks

You're probably already delegated harvesting on your local NIS and now you're trying to harvest on it locally. Also you can raise the number of harvesters allowed in the config.

Want to sell this project for 100BTC with source code?
At least have a working blockchain. I'm sure I can finish it with more enthusiasm and turn into something really useful.

Jump on this silk if it's legit. Your other Devs have let us all down. This may be the only thing that can turn this coin around. No-one really believes this bank negotiation thing anyway.

I might have believed it if it were 10 BTC but 100 ? Who in their right mind would pay 100 BTC for this project ?
